Transcript

She didn't ask for wheelchair so she had to queue with everyother person. They arrived at 4:45am and the border agency doesn't open until 5am so they had to wait in the plane until they opened. Fast forward to her turn
Cbp:what are you here for
Dw: childbirth and vacation
Cbp: is this your first?
Dw: no second
Cbp:did you have your first here?
Dw: no I didn't.
Cbp: what does your DH do?
Dw: he is......
Cbp: ok, writes "I" on I94
Someone then came to get her and she was taken to secondary inspection. She said there were 2 other preggy with her as well. They asked them to sit while they started attending to other people. They were sitting there for 3hrs!! without anyone talking to them
The 1st preggy was called and she was asked certain questions which they weren't satisfied with her answers so they took her burden of proof and dropped it on their supervisors table as he wasn't around
DW was then called
Cbp: why are you here madam
Dw: child birth and vacay
Cbp: How much do you have on you?
Dw: $2300
Cbp: ehn, surprised
Dw: I have paid my bill before coming
Cbp: I would like to see proof of that
Dw: gave him doctors receipt, fully paid and letters from the docs stating she has paid her fees $2k. Letters from West houston medical center stating she has made a deposit of $2k and receipts from West houston
Cbp: calls second officer and said, "there's a honest one here" looks at DL and said thank you for being honest
Dw: thank you
Cbp:So is this your first child?
Dw: no this is my second. (they already know this cos the 3 of us were on vacay last year to NY)
Cbp: Oh i see.. Did you have her here
Dw: no I didnt
Cbp: what does your DH do?
Dw: he is....
Cbp: what isn't he here with you?
Dw: he will come later to join me
Cbp: ok you are free to go. Get you zero balance as you must present this every time you come around
Dw: thank you
Went to pick her luggage and she's home now chilling with her aunt.

I couldn't even have imagined what we would have done if not for this thread. Thank you to everyone contributing.

People don't look for jobs on the street na.

She has to apply online first or tell her sister & husband to tell their friends.

The Church she is going to is even sweet sef.

Ha Sis A, you are the younger Sis of Sis B. What do you do?

I am looking for a job o in ABC field. Even have CVs handy.

If it is by roaming about, a lot of people looking for Jobs would have gotten.
My God!! You are ridiculously selfish!!! If you have this kind of mentality, it is better to check yourself thoroughly! Won't her sister pay for nanny services if the poor girl wasn't there??!!! How can you compare house chores to baby sitting?!! Do you have the slightest idea of what it is to get a job?! If it requires you trekking the street to get a job, hell fucking yea, she will trek the street to get a job!! Is it until frustration kicks in and she starts maltreatment her niece or nephew. What about paying for nanny service for 3 days in a week and your sister has a freedom for 2 until the interviews starts coming in? Your rate of being selfish is alarming! God!!

Keep shut and stop disseminating false information.

No bank in Nigeria currently sells PTA/BTA.....its a CBN directive that all PTA/BTA sales should be halted....i repeat no bank sells pta...do not be deceived.
This is rather embarrassing to read.

I know you gained the diff, just meant you would've gained an extra $15 if u used ur Stanbic card

I have a credit Stanbic card with no restrictions so I always forget about the $300 per day limit

Anyways hope u have enough spending / shopping money for ur wife? So you guys dont end up swiping for More than u sold later on?

All the best
Oh yes.. We just used cards to pay for all her doctor and hospital bills upfront to avoid stories that touch.
Will give an update later

Stanbic card swipes for $260 how come you were charged $285? Guess u used another banks card

So you actually lost $15 to a dollar. Sorry!!!
I used gtbank card. They charged 285. You can't do $1000 at once with stanbic. Max is $300 per day. But you can do $1000 on gt so I had to weigh my option. I already sold dollar at 303 now.. I didn't lose. I gained the difference between 303 and 285. You get?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by bigfido: 12:30am On Jan 30, 2016
Hi guys,
For those that have stanbic, don't turn back when they tell you they don't have dollars. You can buy euro and pounds from them with your US visa. Sell it at black market price and buy dollars with it if you so wish. It will amount to almost the same amount or you make more.

Anyways, I was able to get pta through a family member for 199.25. I removed the doctor's fee which was 2k, sold it at black market at 303, called the doctor and used my gtbank card and DW's card to pay doctors fee via phone call at 285 naira/$. We gained 18 naira per dollar at the end of the transaction.

For those that have stanbic, I hope I have informed you better. Get back to the bank for the pounds and euro

Please mama's in the house I need a hospital in Houston that is cheap lets say 5000dollas for everything thanks
HI,
Check the first page of this thread. There's a link there that might be of great help to you. You wil rarely be spoon-fed here so you might have to do a lot reading. From part 2 I suppose. To make it easier, use the search button for info. I will suggest Oakbend, but picking a hospital is not so straight forward. So try to read the thread from part 2.

Good luck

Geez why the over dramatization shocked. I believe the person who asked the question gets what am saying tongue
Is it the father or the hubby that will do the VBAC?
And moreover she took her time to do research and decide with hubby on where they want to go to before Daddy decided to throw a spanner in her plans although he has good intentions(trying to help them save cost) and hubby doesn't want to offend father in l grin
I think thorough discussions with hubby will solve it. Be frank about your decisions so they know rather than "abscond". That's my opinion

Sweetheart, I hope am crossing any line.wipe your eyes sharply. Don't you know how to smile and nod your head then go ahead with your own plans.
Make sure you are in charge of your travel plans and and all monies are in your account even if it's in hubby's account systematically hold the cards. Then jejely port to Elpaso and later handle hubby and daddy with sweet talk. Meanwhile as a story that touch the pocket warning, check Olaideodes post about birthing in North Carolina. Cheers
Isn't this an ill advice to give someone? Go against your husband and father? What if something happens like an emergency in Elpaso? Will you be there to handle her? Na wa o..

Thanks I finally got thru to her and she gave me a bill of 1700 for vaginal delivery and 1900 for cesarean. This does not include-Lab services for 750, panorama test for 495,circumcision for 495. She said she would accept my Nigerian lab results if they in a standard format eg not handwritten. She has booked me for an appointment

Has any one sent medical reports to their U.S. doctor .could you pls help with the format and hospital you used in Nigeria, tests conduct with their costs. This is because my doctor does a lot of writing on my file so I doubt it ll be accepted. Also is it possible to use another doctor for circumcision to reduce the 495 bill stated . Lastly could you help with a pediatrician for Northside hospital.
Ask your doctor to type you a medical report that you can send abroad.. Do not collect hand written.it is usually a page report indicating results of the test you have done like pvc, viral diseases, genotype, scan, urinalysis and the likes. Speak to your doctor here, he knows what to do.nall you need to send is that one page report and your latest lab scan.good luck

In the spirit of giving back to the group, this is my interview script it wasn't successful but twas worth the try.i applied with my daughter for birthing purpose. i intend going back to re-apply again though.
VO-Good morning maam
Me-Good morning
.
So sorry about the refusal. Maybe it has to do with Dr. F correspondence. How far have you gone? I think you should reapply immediately thou. Go through your budget sheet and be sure there was no over budgeting or over budgeting. How far gone are you? What of your husband? Does he have a visa? If he doesn't, maybe he can apply with you as well. Talk to ladyguinivere

Thanks @ Bisoye82. A quick one good people, going to long beach in california, that's ur final destination and ur doctor is there, can u just book flight to Los Angeles and use cab to long beach since it's about 30mins drive. Hope this won't be an issue at POE. Reason: ticket to long Angeles is far cheaper than direct flight to long beach.
I am not sure you will get a direct flight to Long Beach. You will have to get to LAX first or other POE. Most times, you might even end up in Houston before proceeding.. I think you should check uber how much it will cost from LAX to your address at Long Beach
