Na wa for all these stalkers. I have never understood why some people want more from online relationships. You can never be too sure who is the real person behind the online id. For all you know, your sweet sixteen girl, with the sexy smile, in reality could be a balding 40+yrs man with a pot belly and a rain forest hairy chest. |
OgidiBoy:even online? |
vanitty:I doubt churches are classified as non-profit but rather exempted as defined below the profits of any company engaged in ecclesiastical, charitable or educational activities of a public character in so far as such profits are not derived from a trade or business carried on by such company Would a knowledgeable tax accountant/lawyer please shed more light on the issue. Of particular interest to me is how the church owned universities figure into it. |
My advice to you (assuming sufficient income) is to enroll in a foreign online program in a university with a traditional campus like Florida Tech university and Colorado Technical university ( cant remember the UK ones) . It will give you added credibility and compensate you for the 'wasted' time, both helping to justify your time and financial investment. You should look for an IT related course where hopefully you can leverage your industrial experience. Second consideration would be for Business and Management courses. Your are likely too old for the rigors of the traditional program. |
switch47:There is no way in heaven or on earth, that liverpool is beating that hiddink coached chelsea by a 2 goal margin at stamford bridge. |
There is no way bayern was going to survive given their spectator role in the midfield. Klinsman again shows the traits that cost him his job as germany's coach. He seems to value style above results. The first step to beating barca is knocking them out of rhythm by hassling them in the middle of the park. With Jurgen playing 5 men in midfield (4-5-1), one would be shocked at the amount of time Barca players had on the ball. The midfield was totally untypical of Bayern. Anyways now they have an idea of how sporting felt. Looking forward to seeing Barca's junior team at the olympic stadium. |
Tgirl4real:Beyond puberty, maturity (like most things in life) is relative. What you term as an immature behavior, might be taken as a sign of maturity by another. What one sees as being childishly possessive can be termed by another as being maturely in control. When I take a stand, I am being bull-headed. When my boss does it, he's being firm. from My Boss and I |
@debosky Your offence is unpardonable. You have aggrieved the gods and need to make atonement. As the high priest, I hereby declare (as your punishment) that you send all your live savings to me ![]() @tpia I agree that the majority opinion is not always right, hence my use of the phrase that it should serve as a hint. Your infatuation with 'updates' on the other hand leaves me quite confused. If a biography from her current employer, the world bank, does not suffice, maybe you would care to state what would be conclusive? Your reference to the wiki entry on types of professors shows that your are clueless on the topic being discussed. There is a difference between your office title and the title by which you are addressed. For example, a degree in engineering and/or working as an engineer, does not necessarily grant you the title of 'Engineer'. The fact that you feel that attaining a professorship is done incognito, is hilarious at best and foolish in the least. I will not be surprised if the disputed wiki entry was made by a semi-illiterate (who thinks he knows what he does not know) like yourself, who trivializes a professorship and equates it to no more than four letters prefixing the name of any Phd holder. I do accept my error in judgment in stating that your stubbornness stems from an ego problem. Recent postings by you point towards a simple intellectual ineptitude, compounded by a poor grasp of the English language. Comparing your posts to others, reaffirms that everyone has a right to be stupid, but some people abuse the privilege. |
maddock:Wrong - The gifts of the holy spirit cannot be taught to others. You can help to develop an existing gift, but only God bestows the gifts of the spirit. |
tpia:You implied it by attaching the professorship specifically to the latter, hereby excluding the former. Unless your in the Bill Clinton school of personalized interpretation of English phrases, the meaning of the statement is quite clear. English language is not as complicated as you make it seem. as for your other post, I hope you noticed the addendum after the bio:I did notice the link but I do not need 'further information' as the information provided answered my question. The biography was updated when she became an MD of the World bank. What other updates are you expecting, the one about what would happen in the future? ![]() Your tenacity while impressive, doesn't count towards proving your point. The fact that no one else is supporting your position, should be a sufficient hint that you are in the wrong. Please get over your ego and move on. |
please check for existing threads on same topic before starting another one https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-13568.0.html |
tpia:I believe this should put things to rest. The evidence shown below is a brief biography from the worldbank's website http://web.worldbank.org/WBSITE/EXTERNAL/NEWS/0,,contentMDK:21687298~pagePK:64257043~piPK:437376~theSitePK:4607,00.html Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is presently a Managing Director of the World Bank. tpia:No. What it means is that your brother, who is a scientist, is not a professor. |
Always act in your wife's best interest |
We don't know the details of what has been requested of the guy. In some cultures, the marriage process is seen as evidence of his commitment on the part of the groom. They get to meet his family, who come bearing gifts as a sign of goodwill, support for the marriage, and the ability to meet the needs of the bride. It doesn't have to involve any displeasing acts like sleeping with the corpse (which has probably decayed). Particularly in my neck of the woods, a traditional marriage is between the two families, and not restricted to just the couple. The girl's family asking him to follow through on his intentions are not as bad as it sounds. People that expect the girl's parents to simply surrender their grandchildren, who are likely all they have left in memory of their late daughter, are being inconsiderate of the parents position. The likelihood of the guy getting custody in a court of law is very slim, given that he was not legally married to their mother, he is single, and will likely find it difficult to prove that he can take better care of the kids than the grandparents. If the request is just for the simple exchange of gifts and interaction between the two families, then the guy should do it. |
which month is the bday? what is the budget? Any traveling limitations? |
abhosts:Obviously your poor knowledge of mathematics is worse than your lack of objectivity on the issue at hand. There is a difference between probability and statistics. |
I am shocked at the level of ignorance displayed by some on the topic at hand. A phd degree (irrespective of the awarding school) is a long way from a professorship. A cursory look at Okonjo-iweala's career profile on the site of some reputable financial institutions will confirm that there is no reference to her holding a faculty position in any institution. |
abhosts:Another disappointing post. So the siting of a parish is always vetted by the head of the church? Unless you have proof that the churches were properly sited, stop criticizing the governments actions. Have you entertained the thought that since there are more churches than mosques in Lagos state, its likely that demolition exercises would often affect more churches |
iReport:Without any knowledge of the truth, you proceeded to accuse, and find guilty, the Lagos state governor and the state government. It's sad that you claim to be a christian. The question shouldn't be the purpose of the buildings, but rather if the buildings are illegal or not. Do not support an illegal act by claiming to act in God's interest |
The biblical support for the man being the head of the family (as Christ is the head of the Church) is more akin to him being the team captain and not necessarily the best player on the team. Its a position of responsibility, and not of a tyrannical authority. |
"you are just my size" |
Qs: 1. Does she say them to his (ur bf's) face, and if not does ur bf know that she says such behind his back? 2. Are your parents and/or her husband aware of what she says? 3. Whats ur bf's opinion of ur sis? Your best option is to avoid having to choose between your bf and ur sis, as they play different roles in your life |

Why Do Some Men Cherish Their Girlfriends More Than Their Wife? 'cos human stupidity knows no bounds. |
@topic Why Do Fools Fall in Love? 'cos they are fools ![]() |
topup:Seems you missed the date on the OP, it was September 10, 2007. Whatever her choice was, it is now part of history. |
Soludo did not err in recapitalization, but the step was unwarranted |
PapaBrowne:Given the latter, the former seems based on an introspection. |
Moves:irrelevant to the issue at hand. The question is "is Soludo the best man for the Job to justify his staying in office for the next 5yrs?" I believe that the Soludo has clarified his statements on the Issue of Nigeria be immuned from the Global Crisis, If you look at it from the origin of the crisis starting with the sub prime mortgage market and in nigeria our mortgage industry can be said to be of negligible % of financing or the Economy,He was foolish in making the statement in the first place, but it's of little relevance, 'cos every now and then, everyone 'mis-yarns'. He also stated that No nigerian bank is going to fail--well none has failed yetA bank fails wen CBN deems it unable to meets its financial obligations. Its not the objective yard stick for evaluating a CBN governor. Information provided by Professor Charles Soludo, the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), at the July 6 2004 Bankers' Committee meeting, reveals that by the end of March 2004, 62 of the 89 banks were sound, 14 were on border-line, 11 were unsound, while two rendered no returns. A number of the ailing banks were also said to have overdrawn their positions with the CBN. The unsound banks accounted for 19.5% of assets of Nigerian banks, 17.2% of deposits, and 19.9% of non-performing loans. These ratios, in Soludo's own words, 'were below the trigger points for declaring the system as distressed'. From http://www.nigerianmuse.com/20061228122222zg/spotlight/TeribaSoludoleftout @Kobo - This Guy had the foresight to recapitalise the Banks years ahead the new stronger banks have changed and improved way better than what was obtained pre soludo era, This is a verifiable fact, not forgeting the Spin offs of Employment; Real Estate development; Business Financing. Please read the article referenced above. Please provide the verifiable fact that "the new stronger banks have changed and improved way better than what was obtained pre soludo era". Also please provide information on employment and employee turnover, and, real estate acquisitions, in both eras to back up your subsequent claims |
