this other phone is it also sony ericsson? and what do you mean by "doz two screens" |
@PRYNXLEX sorry if ur'e using your phone to send this message but could you repeat your post in clearer english? i didn't get what you were saying; which 2 screens at the bottom do you expect to turn blue? |
ours is blocked in our office too; my advice get internet at home and use that to access facebook, thos proxy bypass sites are generally not secure (anything can happen) |
try this link, it may give help http://sbjaved..com/2008/06/huawei-ets-2558-setup-guide-for-linux.html unfortunately i have removed the old config from my machine and it was a while ago else i would have told how exactly i didi it |
u know, much as i "feel" that things might be better if north and south break up truth is 'm not conviced. at least now everyone feels that the north is the enemy, once there is a break up the ibos start accusing the yorubas of greed and vice versa and then the south splits up into their different ethnic groups, the ijaws fighting with the itsekiris and the urhobos and this time there's no central military to maintain peace; then what about the middle belt; most of us southerners see them as northerners so we'll just abandon them and i'm sure the north will fight hard to hold them down; we might end up fighting so hard among ourselves that either the north come and take control again or countries like cameroon come and start annexing off parts. i think a better option is a decentralised government like a confederation; let every state manage its resources |
@moderator can you pleas block this sunnykiss? he/she keeps advertising where people are exchanging ideas @sunnykiss this is a discussion forum not a market, take your wares someplace else, we're not interested |
@r231 do you stay in Ogba? i think i've seen that car around there before |
@instinctg where do you live? perhaps you could find someone who lives not too far away who can give you a copy @4llerbuntu if i remember well the huawei modem uses a different usb modem driver from your normal usb modems it's usually a ti_usb_3410_5052 driver as opposed to the usbserial driver that works for most usb modems i remeber i had to do something in the /etc/udev rules folder too |
@spellcheck if it's a desktop my advice is to buy a new cd drive; the wahala involved in opening it up to clean it is not worth it - if you could have done that you probably would have done so before consulting NL dvd writers (at least non- blueray ones) cost well under 10k nowaydays |
purge like how? from where |
ok here it is: 3rd Fl. Octagon Bldg., 13A A J Marinho Dr., Victoria Island, , Nigeria 234 01 271 0153, 234 01 271 0155 fax, http://www.microsoft.com |
i know they used to have an office at Octagon Building, 13A. A.J. Marinho Drive VI |
Algeria loses 0-3 to Malawi, Ivory Coast draws 0-0 with Burkina Faso, Nigeria loses 1-3 to Egypt now Cameroon loses 0-1 to Gabon; so far none of the world cup qualifiers have won a match only Ghana remains now |
abeg the guy has failed Nigeria, any responsible President would have handed over - even if temporarily - to the vice president; so all this time that he has not been around what does he expect us to be doing? |
@fasho16 sorry i haven't replied you since, must have missed your last post type: sudo lsmod | grep usb and let me know the result |
how did u find out it has bad sectors (i.e. what command) fsck? |
just wonering, what's the point? i could just as easily type my search request in the search bar anyway |
were you formatting a drive where your files are located? if not get ail linux livecd and try to retrieve your files from the mentioned drive. if you have a fast enough internet connection you can download ubuntu;on the other hand you can download a smaller brand, puppylinux is < 100mb |
for me when i started using yahoo, there weren'tso many other email addresses, ok i had a hotmail account and a one box; but onebox stopped being free and somewhere along the line they closed my hotmail account 'cos i didn't access it for a month. i have a gmail account now but i had been using yahoo for so long, it would be sort of inconvenient to start telling all my contacts to switch to my gmail so i might as well stick with yahoo |
does this spirit browser work on linux? i don't intend to use any browser in windows that i can't use in linux |
for all u google chrome fans i guess by now you know that it's now available in linux you can go to the google chrome download page to obtain it (i'm not sure if it's in the ubuntu repository yet) |
what programs have you installed lately? perhaps some of them come with services that startup immediately @mendax type gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst (which is where the boot entries are located) and remove the entries that you don't want anymore |
if you know the forum where it is you can ask the moderator |
i agree with oyb, it's probably a monitor problem, try fiddling around with the vga connection - where it connects to your cpu, perhaps the problem will be rectified (in which case some pin was not touching) @xsay i'm not sure but changing the language in control panel might help but i'm almost sure you shouldn't need to reinstall the os, you can google around on changing the language i think you may need to install the english language pack if it isn't already installed |
well the thing is that the ram thing is still speculation, it might end up being more serious which is why i was thinkin of someone he knows so that he can try fixin in a way that won't cost him - just in case it's not the problem |
bear in mind that if u''re running xp 8gb is a total waste (unless it's the 64 bit version) u might as well upgrade it to 3gb and leave it there 'cos 32-bit xp will not see much more than 3gb maybe 3.5 but definitely not up to 4gb ram, so it'll just be on ur pc wasting away (8gb is safe for vista and 7) besides i believe that 8gb is serious overkill for this guy; if he would have needed 8gb he will be techy enough not to need to ask us this question on NL also @poster what is the specs of your pc anyway and what os is it running? since when did it start running slow? |
ahem, i didn't say intel processors don't support virtualization, what i said (or at least meant) is that most if not all amd processors made in the last 2 years support virtualization while a lesser percentage of intel processors support virtualization according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86_virtualization): "Only Sempron processors except Sable and Huron do not include support for AMD-V" while "As of 2009 not all recent Intel processors support VT-x - Intel uses the feature to segment its market" i'm not saying intel isn't better, what i'm saying is intel deliberately releases processors that don't support hardware virtualization - and that's annoying for me most so called engineers don't even know about this in pc villa so say i go to pc villa, i want ot buy a laptop that has vt-x-intel then i have to tell them i don't want a cpu of model xyz 'cos it doesnt support virtualization unfortunately neither does model abc or jkl , meanwhile for amd it's enough to say i don't want the sempron cpu and i'm assured of amd-v virtualization. that's my point for a list of intel processors that support virtualization check this site: http://ark.intel.com/VTList.aspx |
olabode when u put on your laptop do you hear any sound like a fan turning or something if so i don't think it's your processor that's faulty blinking light like that is probably a memory problem; either way you will have to take your laptop to a tech savvy person but i doubt it's the processor; if you have a friend you trust you could get him/her to remove and reinsert your ram; see if that works otherwise u may have to buy another 1gb ddr2 costs about 4-5k |
did it recognise anything when u connected your phone? go to devicemanager (win+r, in the box that comes up type devmgmt.msc) ; under modems what do you see? |
mr bjelee, u may have to do a repair (not necessarily a format) also on googling ur problem i saw this link: http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/winxp-logs-off-as-soon-as-i-log-in/106983.html perhaps it will fix your problem (moderator i hope this is allowed, it's just a link to a site where they discussed the same issue) |
yeah, we don't always have all the answers; sometimes we actually google up possible solutions to some of the questions that people raise |
