I just feel Siasia is over-hyped. (Pls Siasia lovers shld not crucify me).
It's like when a movie is over-hyped for a while, when it now comes out, it will be like "Is dat IT?"

I remember when we were still dating, my husband always expected me to end the phone call with "I love u".
I could say it when i was alone or with friends that i knew but how am i to say it in front of my work colleagues, bosses and strangers?
It was a major sticking point but i was just toooo shy!!!!
He could shout it on the rooftops if i asked him.
I was between a rock and a hard place.
Finally, we r married and i am more able to express such but still i am shy in front of parents, etc.

@ Mutter, it started with taking care of her mum for a short while b4 it snowballed to what it is now.
Yes, i see my mum AND kids as external to myself and my husband.
At the end of the day, it is whatever my husband decides that goes even if i don't agree 100% with it.

As far as i am concerned, if the mum staying at home cannot be resolved then he should look for alternatives.
Get the mum a place nearby, get a room for her at the hospital, etc.
Like i said b4, i can never let ANYBODY scatter the peace in my house even for a day.

I love seeing a tall well ripped guy.
Even now dat i am married i still steal peeks at such.
Today, i was at the gym, some guys were playing basketball.
One team didnt wear a shirt while the other team wore.
I didnt even realize i was staring until one of the guys said hi and everyone started laughing.
I was soo embarrassed dat i practically ran away.

I like holding hands but all other things are too . . . .
Though i found out that in UK and SA they dont mind.
Infact, even in church they will be kissing and holding hands.
My husband will only do that if he is very very drunk and dat is very very rare.

I guess they are just looking out for ur best interests.
Don't be too hard on ur folks.
If u are so down with her,go ahead.
It's just that it is difficult for people from different tribes talkmore of people from different races.

At the end of day, it is u making the decisions, good or bad.

It is not just women insulting themselves.
Haven't u also noticed that when men want to insult women, it is to call them prostitutes and such like?
I just feel that people feel that it is the highest insult to a woman.
Family › Re: Why Do Married Ladies Hate Their Mother-in-law So Much? by blank(f): 5:32am On Aug 29, 2010
I know a couple (they were really good friends of my husband and i).
Now they are in the throes of divorce and the woman is crying and asking everyone to beg her husband.
The guy left everything for her and wants to relocate abroad cos he cant stand to be anywhere near her.
Ask what happened.
The woman insisted that her mother should come and live with them since her mum is a widow.
He refused but she insisted and said it is just till after the child is born.
2 years after, the mother is still there and he had to rent a bigger house (the girl is now finishing school so is not working).
Finally, the man could not take the mother's constant interference and asked the mum to move out.
He even wanted to rent a place nearby for the mum (he is just a struggling young man but was willing to do whatever it takes to save his marriage).
This made the mother to accuse him of such horrible things that he just had to call for a divorce.
Now, she has asked her mum to leave but the guy aint coming back.

I have a wonderful MIL that takes me as the daughter she never had.
We are even closer than my mum and myself since we are in the same state.
However, i understand that people do through different things and will never sacrifice the peace of my home for any external factor.

Ranoscky:
OP, on d day i saw dat news, it was on d 9th day of d traffic. N d next day, i heard dat it has started movin again so i don't know how it got to 13days, buh anyways sha, traffic is traffic!
It is possible that you are right. When i heard the story initially, it was just a news snippet from Rocketboom and they said 13 days.
So i went online and googled China traffic jam for 13 days and those were the news stories that came up indicating 13 days.
However, after your post, i just googled China traffic jam and it showed 9 days, 10 days, 11 days.
So whatever, it is still a long time to be in traffic.

@ Sangman, i don't think people are saying the only way to have children is to get married.
What i believe is being said is that it is the only way of having legitimate children not children born out of wedlock and called the B word.

I remember when i just finished from NYSC camp.
It was in 2007.
I entered a small bus from Port-Harcourt to Abuja.
Just after Lokoja, we met a very terrible traffic jam.
I left the bus and walked forward for almost an hour before i got to the scene of the first accident (a tanker and a small car).
I started gisting with other corpers for about 45mins more before my bus caught up with me.
Then we moved forward small and met the second accident.
I got to Abuja by almost 3 in the morning.
There was no signal there so my parents were so worried that something had happened.

I also remember from my childhood when we spent Christmas eve on top of Onitcha bridge.
Na Christmas day when we land for village and na sleep we do throughout.
Thank God things are not as bad as 13 days in the same traffic.
I don't really think its a matter of whether its right or wrong or whether you know the person or not. I mean, if you being forced into the relationship [or whatever it is], then that is wrong. But if you're not being forced into a relationship and you know that there's someone that you parents want you to marry are you're ok with it then I don't see anything wrong with it. I have a friend who's parents already has a girl that they wanted him to marry and both the boy and the girl were ok with the idea. In my opinion, as long as the people involved in the matter are ok with the arrangements of things, then I see nothing wrong with it.
I agree with you. If the two people involved are okay with it, no problem.
My problem is when they say it is by force.
I have an Indian friend who has been in UK doing MBA and is now doing an MSc simply cos her parents want her to marry a random guy.
I told her to do so for the sake of her sister who wants to get married but has to wait for her to marry first.
Obviously, i was joking but it makes people really desperate to run away from home cos of dat kind of pressure.
