Let us look at this scenario. You live in boko haram territory. They usually kidnap girls that have reached puberty to live as sex slaves. Puberty for them is when a girl starts developing breasts. Your daughter has started developing breasts at age 8. As her mum, what would you do?
I think the way forward is for govt to tackle the underlying cause of the practice which has to do with underage rape and kidnap. |

I like TVC's coverage of the River's rerun election. Surprisingly quite fair. |

princejenks: yea i think she was remanded back then when the case was ongoing till she got a judgement weeks later but which has been appealed now by the state in which the initial judgement was upturned and now she would be serving the 5 year sentence. I believe her lawyers would reopen the case in the light of this new revelations but that doesnt mean she may still not serve the time eventually but what charles novia is saying is that certain untruths being peddled that she was aloof from the deceased doctor's family as reason for reopening the case is not true going by daniel wilson's response here. If they bring this new "evidence" to court, he will be charged as an accomplice. He could even be said to be the one that removed the number plate and details. One thing I remember from the headlines from that day was that she was drunk and returning from a night party. All these his tales by moonlight are just that. He can clearly remember that it was around 7pm but can't remember if it was the doctor or her that caused the accident. |

5starmilitant: Even if she goes to jail, it won't bring the late doctor back to life. It's been a long time, and they should just take things easy.
Do you know how it feels, when one is saying the truth and no one is listening? One must listen to all parts before concluding, cos it can happen to anyone. Accident does not give notice before coming. Mind the things you say. The law has listened to both sides and passed judgement. Nothing anyone can do about it. |

Achonky: Hello Justwise and team. I have a challenge booking one-way flight to the UK. Wakanow is advising me to buy a return ticket since my passport only reflects the 1 month entry clearance given(the BRP reflecting the 18 months visa will usually be picked up on arrival in the UK). They said that airlines may not allow me to board if my travel document does not reflect that I have up to a year to stay in my destination country. Kindly share your thoughts and experiences please. Thanks
I plan to use Ethiopian Airline. Why not buy a return ticket and just not use the return leg? Isn't it generally cheaper than one way tickets? |
Politics › Re: NEPA Office Agbani-Enugu, Using Generator? (Photo) by blank(f): 8:28am On Mar 17, 2016 |
The NEPA office there is a distribution office not a generating office. They can only distribute if they get power from transmission. If transmission doesn't give them, they won't have. They live and work amongst us. So they also get what everyone else gets.
If you had shown a GENCO using generator, then i would have been really worried. |

but I do know that taking beverages like Milo, bournvita and the likes ain't too good for an expectant mother because I think I have heard people say it makes the baby big and I was opportuned to witness my mum when she was pregnant with our last born then although I was still a lil young but I can remember she avoided beverages at that stage even with that she ended up birthing the big headed boy with a CS If your mum avoided beverages but still had a big baby doesn't that show you that it is not always a culprit? I took Milo everyday of my first pregnancy but still had a small baby. |

Why don't we just wait to see the outcome of Bubu's travels? How one would think that Buhari goes to all these places for sight-seeing is beyond me. We have already started seeing the effects on the oil price.
Nigerians though! Total debt relief? Softly Softly my sister. Say only what you are sure of and not hearsay. |

I think this will be a great time to boost the boy's self esteem. He has worked hard and feels he deserves a reward. I would use this as an opportunity to boost his self esteem and not dent it. |

9jatriot: Civil service rules does not allow sack easily. An appropriate punishment would be to send them to a rural area with immediate effect and then monitor them for absenteeism. That way, they will live to regret their actions but who ever sent them would abandon to their fate. Won't civil service rules allow them to be sacked if found guilty of fraud? What kind of punishment is redeployment? Level 17 will still be receiving high salary and allowances without doing much work. |

Acidosis: It is not difficult to detect OP's game plan.
There is actually someone undergoing the pains and agony she described here, but that person is not the OP.
From my own conviction, OP is trying to use the agony of a woman who has never been on Nairaland to retrieve cash from unsuspecting individuals.
She has the question to most of the answers because she has a little bit of 1st and 2nd hand information about the school, the widow and the job.
(My opinion) I don't think they are being owed salary. |
