@Chicky-Girl, if its bow leg u're refering to, I read they normally outgrow it when they start walking. One of my boys had it at a very age too but its not so bad now as he's standing and walking gradually. The only thg I did sha was to prevent my nanny from carrying him too much on the back. They started backing that particular boy at an early age cos he was really turbulent. Though my ped said that wasn't the cause of the bow leg and assured us he will outgrow it. Just let them eat right and get all the basic nutient.

Tontolo, don't even know what to say again except it is well! You see, God has a way of wiping our tears and crowning it with double for all our troubles. Am sure if I'd read all these stories b4 my bfp I wodnt have wasted my tears at all cos I wod have braced up with the fact that my own problem is chicken change compared to what am reading on this thread.
Keep trusting God to change ur husband. Talk to ur husband, make him see what all this is doing to u. You can't satisfy the one u married legally yet the few seed u have is being wasted outside on useless pros.titudes. Na wa o, men sef! Does he expect those Girls he's fooling around with to pray for his family to have children? I once asked my husband that question when I suspected he was making some kurukere moves and I don't know how God touched him that day and he started telling me how his ex called him to tell him she's willing to bear children for him since his wife is barren. I fear FEAR that day. But today my story has changed and the girl is probably looking for another family to destroy. That is what prayers can do.
As for ur MIL, just be using her name to cabbage midnight prayers, she will be the one to talk her son out of adultery and help him find a solution the right way. No be her fault at all, if its her daughter that is going thru this problem, she will have teeth to encourage her SIL to keep committing adultery as a means of solving this kind of problem.
God pls remove these burdens from my Sisters head, its just too much carrying all these problems alongside trying to conceive. Turn these situations around IJN. Just keep praying, there's nothing God cannot do.

@My children, ur story is so touching. Hmmmm, what women go thru in life. First and foremost u need to go to a good church for deliverance. Making love in the dream and seeing the manifestation afterwards is not normal. Get delivered and trust God to do the rest by serving Him whole hearted and sticking to His word. You can try MFM weekend deliverance service (Just a suggestion).
Secondly find a good hospital to treat the hepatitis. I think it has a cure if u really have it cos u never said anythg about confirming the result elsewhere since ur hubby doesn't have it. Since you got pregnant once, you will definitely get pregnant again as there is really nothing God cannot do. All the best as all hope is not lost!

The difference btw egg donor and egg sharing is that in egg donors, a donor is paid for the sole purpose of producing eggs just for those who need it without partaking in the transfer of embies into her womb while egg sharing, a woman is also partaking in the transfer of embryos back into her womb. That is to say, egg donors do not want pregnancy, they just want to sell their eggs but egg sharing means the woman also want to get pregnant but also want to give out part of the eggs that will be retrieved due to one reason or the other. The commonest reason is reduction of ivf cost. In sharing, the eggs are shared immediately after retrieval and both women's husband's sperm is used to inject the shared eggs allocated to both of them after which everyone will go home to await the news of number of eggs that got fertilized.
In the case of egg donor, its not all the time a recipient gets all the eggs except of course its the recipient that brought the donor herself. Most times, a donor's eggs is shared amongst 2-3 recipients to maximize profit. I got to know this when one of my senior friends did ivf in one popular ivf clinic inside Dolphin estate. She claimed the owner left Bridge to Rodding and opened her own place. The lady paid extra 350k to use donor eggs and just before transfer she insisted on seeing the embies and discovered they were going to transfer just one embie that was not even a grade A. Their explaination was that the donor didn't produce much eggs and she made lots of trouble wt them so they pleaded with her to be patient, that another retrieval from another donor will be done same day, that she will be given 3 eggs from whatever the donor produced. she then called me to to seek my opinion of the whole story. I told her to cancel the procedure n request for a refund afterall, a donor is supposed to be young and they must have done amH to be sure of her reserve before the process so they are not being honest with her cos they obviously would have shared the eggs with other people tht is why they want her to wait for another retrieval. I then called all the fert Drs I've worked with and they confirmed my suspicions. The woman and her husband decided to wait for the new donor and 3 embies were gotten and later transfered to her but then she got a bfn. Don't know if it was the plenty wahala and agitation and quarreling that gave her a bfn cos most recipients of donors tend to have higher bfps than those whose eggs were used. Maybe because the body of the recipient has not been subjected to all the rigors of many injection and egg collection so the womb is actually relaxed compared to you that went through all that stress and might even still be bleeding or discharging fluid from egg collection as at the time of embryo transfer. All these Drs sha, profit maximization is their major aim b4 protecting the interest of the patient. That is why those who get pregnant naturally without going thru all these stress we face should just be thanking God everyday because they don't know the stress He has saved them from passing thru to bring a child into this world..

I think they do. Its called egg sharing. Ur eggs will be given to someone who needs donor eggs and the person pays part of the cost of your procedure. Discuss wt Dr Emeka and he will tell u the total amount u're likely to save from it. From experience sha, it might not be much. These fertility Drs are all very greedy in naija so even when they charge like 250-300k for using donor eggs on a patient, the donator is never given more than 150k so don't expect much. Atimes a donor's eggs are even shared amongst 2-3 different patients yet they still pay the donators peanuts. Discuss with him sha and hear him out. It is well.

Thks my people. God bless you guys plenty and grant you all your heart's desire. Was wondering how you guys got to know about my birthday till I remembered most of us have crossed from being anonymous on nairaland to being friends on facebook and BB. This birthday is a special one for me cos before now I used to feel very sad on my birthdays. I used to cry my heart out and remind God of how am getting old with each birthday without a child. Today I have kids who even though they cant talk and write, presented a very beautiful card to me thru their daddy, wishing me a happy birthday, long life and prosperity. I cant thank this God enough and I pray this joy that I feel inside of me will go round all of us IJN. One by one, we all will leave God's waiting room soon and smile back at the devil for trying his best. One Love my people.

Someone made a statement on the facebook page that these people dont look like people under arrest. That its possible they just sat in front of their house waiting for customers. How come there is no media source except a photograph from facebook. Looking at this picture critically, the comment actully made sense. No police, no chains, just women sitting down in front of basins of kpomo. Poster please provide us with source because a matter as serious as this should be in the press by now.

Bros I dey everywhere oooo! R&B are doing great. we bless God. This ur testimony powerful o, we bless God for you.

egariyi:

I did my ICSI in 2010/2011 and got delivered of a baby girl towards end of the year. Yes, as at that time, we paid USD10,000 (N1.5m) excluding tests! they also use Indian doctors who come quarterly to supervise and perform all the procedures. Save a life is good but the owner like money well well and they are very expensive. The success rate is also high!

$10,000 for normal ivf/icsi without tests? The owner like money no be small. Congrats on your bundle of joy. Am happy you got results after spending that much. God be praised.

@Kings Daughter, we are still waiting for your story. We need to know why you dont want nairalanders to go there. Please find time to share your story with us. God bless all waiting mums soon.

Health / Re: Is Surrogacy Legal In Nigeria? by Blendy77(f): 2:00pm On Sep 19, 2013
Very old posts! I discovered its not really been legalised but a lot of ivf hospitals here in naija are equally into surrogacy and so far minors are not used, you're good to go. $30,000 to get a surrogate mother in Naija? I doubt if its up to that amount even when u're getting the surrogate from the hospital. Except that is the total cost including the ivf procedure itself, surrogate fee, antenatal and delivery of the baby/babies.
Health / Re: Cost Of IVF In Nigeria by Blendy77(f): 3:39am On Sep 19, 2013
I can't categorically say grade A means boy o! But the less fragments embies have during cell division, the better the grade. Dr Emeka and 800k? Well, call him and use ur woman power, e fit work. U know women and wayo forming of tears when we want something. Just try ur luck, u never can tell. Another good clinic u cod use if u're trying to cut costs is regenesis since its just 350 for ivf excluding drugs. Only when the guy mention donor sperm, do like say u nor hear.

Double post!
Health / Re: Cost Of IVF In Nigeria by Blendy77(f): 7:30pm On Sep 18, 2013
Honeypie24, just seeing ur post. Most ivf twins are hardly identical becos different eggs are transferred with its own xteristics. So they are like any other babies you would have at seperate births (in normal conception) except of course an embryo splits into 2 babies and the twins share same placenta then they can be identical. In my own case my first boy is my photocopy while his brother is my hubby's photocopy but they both hav my colour as am light skinned and hubby is dark.
Its very common to have boy/girl and boy/boy combination at birth but girl/girl is not as common as these other mixtures cos during selection of embies after fertilization, the embryologists ensures the best embies are transfered and these best embies turn out to be the fastest embies which are able to divided with less fragments and in most cases, these turn out to be boys. I also discovered iui produce more of girls than ivf since u just inject the man's fluid into the woman with no option of seperating very active embies from the rest and because the xx chromosomes stays longer in the woman's body than the xy, it most likely will wait and fertilize any egg in sight especially if fertilization does not take place after the first 2days of insemination.

My Sister tell us the story na so others can learn cos I also have a SIL who has started her investigations with them and still waiting for them to start the procedure proper. Is it tru that they have white Drs there? Is it also true that ivf is $10,000 there? And is it also tru that their ivf is in batches and not 'do as u come'? That's the gist I heard but educate we Lagos folks since u have used them so we can enlighten our family and friends in PH.

His price is actually 950k except ur friend used donor eggs which she might not want to disclose to u. I've also sent a friend who he charged 1.2m and she called me on fon to complain about the price and when I called him in anger that shey his price is 950k, why is he looking at faces and giving some people high price. He just kept saying her case was different and refused to tell what was different about her case. When I started asking my friend plenty questions as to why her case was different from others, she then opened up that she will be using donor eggs. Luckily for the lady she got pregnant at first attempt and didn't have to go there again. On a good day his normal ivf/icsi is 950k, registration/consultation 25k or so (not too sure cos during our time na free consultation), invstigation/tests 50-70k.

Faith2012, one lesson I've learnt in life is that , its not too cool for a woman who has given birth to advise another woman who is still waiting to consider adoption. Cos it will be like u have ur own so its easy for u to say. Someone posted somethg on adoption on the ivf thread and that statement caused a lot of tension and throwing of e-insults last yr. From experience, most waiting couples know about adoption as an option already. So my sister, since we didn't adopt, the best we can do is to encourage others to try for their own and let those who adopted com and advise them on adoption. One love!

Honestly I dont know the price of Georges o, maybe you'll ask Lify on the IVF forum as she used them recently but Dr Emeka charges N950k for procedure and drugs and N50k extra for tests and investigations. Depending on ur bargaining power, u could get a discount of 5-10% especially if u mention nairaland and beg him very well. Meanwhile u cod also go with ur recent test results so you dont have to repeat them and save ur 50k. He is kind enough to accept tests from other labs/clinic so far they are recent. All the best.

They are both good as they use same building, procedures, embryologists etc. But personally, I'll recommend olive branch any day. Olive branch is just into ivf alone while Georges is a full functional hospital so there's divided attention as in u may see a Dr today and ur next visit might be MD as in Dr Iketubosun and the other visit a medical officer unlike Dr Emeka who deals with all his patients alone on a one on one basis. and if u chose to use Georges for antenatal and delivery, Dr Emeka will still assist u cos he still sees u as his patient. In my own case he was even the one who delivered my babies and I remembered a nairalander was with him the day I delivered. He told her to hang on that he needs to go and deliver his twins upstairs and when she heard I delivered same day, she sent me an email asking if I was the one Emeka was refering to. That is the kind of interest he has in all his patients. Those who have used him before can agree with me that am not just over hyping his genuine concern for all his patients.

Prettyrose when u desperately need somethg, u won't see money as a barrier at all. If I was very broke n needed to sell our house to have a child, my Sister I for gladly do am without looking back. Nothing can be compared to the joy of motherhood. No amount is too much to purchase the cry of ur baby most especially when u can afford it. What is heavy gold and tear rubber cars to a woman whose heart is broken from inability to conceive? Leave gist abeg. As my boys dey represent so, I no even wan remember how much I spend to bring pikin com this world.

prettyrosefave: hello mothers, please i have a question oooo. my HMO dont pay for infertility cost, but when you take in they take care of all expenses no matter the issue involved fro birth to any number of kids. now, paraventure i get my bfp through ivf, will they pay for my clinics and maternity?

i dont know how to put my question really, but what i mean is do i need to tell then i got preggy through ivf? has anyone been in this shoe?

@Blendy, how are you and the kids? bigger baby nko?(i mean hubby oo). please why did you spend like 400k from your pulse for delivery, was it that your HMO was not willing to take the cost because its not natural conception?

since i started ttcing(of which i never used to go to clinic sef), i never enjoyed my HMO, so painful.

i remember a colleague of mine, she is the breadwinner and dont have much during her delivery, she put to bed through CS and thought they are in for it cos the cost was like 200k plus, all the the doctor to bring in papers for her to sign that her HMO will take care of the bills. she was relieved of that.

i want to enjoy this too, pls someone put me through if you have passed through it.

another question, which clinic is better for maternity? Havana or Eko hospital? then is it nice to use like two clinics? i intend using my HMO clinic and a govt hospital or register also with my hubby's HMO clinic, these we plan in order to decide for the best and compare results.

pls put me through, thanks.

We dont do HMO in the organization I work for. We have a full fledge hospital in my organization and antenatal is taken care of by a consultants from Luth even when we have inhouse gynaes. deliveries are refered out to bigger hospitals like st nicholas, eko, south shore etc except Georges. Since i got my BFP with Georges, I decided to pay and do antenatal there also. Though I visit my company's clinic for antenatal once in a while but I took that of Georges serious since na dem give me belly (lol). But for delivery, i got a referal to South Shore from my organization but I still wasnt comfortable having the babies else where so I decided to pay and have them in Georges. South Shore or any other big hospital my company uses would have been free delivery as the company would pay any amount but then, I choose Georges cos I wanted to play safe after 2 or 3 visits to South Shore. The total package for delivery of twins through CS, accomodation, circumcision etc was more than N1m so I laughed when I saw your N400k. I also doubt if Georges is into HMO stuff.

I also dont think there's anything wrong with using 2 different clinics for anti natal since its free with both yours and hubby's HMO. Wetin dem dey do for antinatal sef apart from testing urine for protein, giving u multivitamins like pregnacare and calcium and measuring your bump to check for progress of pregnancy and maybe 2 or 3 scans. And their final question "any complains"? Nothing dey there jare except its high risk pregnancy. Like someone rightly said, there's no difference between antinatal for naturally conceived babies and ivf babies except maybe cyclogest that u need to be taking till 12weeks and your ivf Dr can do that till you're refered out for antinatal at 12weeks. Antinatal on a good day from good iVF clinics start from 12wks when the pregnancy must have been stable.

@Harbiee; Olive branch is different from Georges in that they are operated by 2 different Drs but they are in the same location. Dr Emeka runs Olive Branch and he has a unit inside Georges memorial hospital. He runs Olive Branch inside Georges so u need to specifically mention his name if u want to use him otherwise u will be given Georges registration card when u get there and be attended to by other gynaes. All the best.
