Of course u can have epidural with ivf. Even with natural delivery u can opt for epidural especially when one is induced. At Georges memorial, normal delivery is about 400k while CS is 600k. With CS epidural is free but i'm too sure if its the same for normal since its an option. U can actually call the hospital to find out 012715320 and 012718728. That was were my babies were born and anyone who has used them will agree with me that they are very good. Another good hospital for maternity that I'll gladly recommend is south shore women's hospital close to adeola odeku. They are also very good as Dr Alabi the owner was one of the lead gynaecologist at St. Nicholas. Their number is 08109602321. I can't remember their delivery price again as I was supposed to use them but eventually left for Georges cos I felt they already had my history. Am sure there are other good ones on the mainland but these are the island clinics I've come in contact with and can recommend anyday.

@Pokopakam, big congrtaulations to you my Sister. Am so happy that God has wiped off tears from the eyes of one of my beloved Sisters on this thread. This is good news, natural BFPs after failed IVF. Is God not wonderful? I rejoice with you and your household and I pray the good Lord who started this will preserve you and the baby/babies to the end.

prettyrosefave: Hello sisters n brothers, I have always being reading your posts.

Congratss to all the women who got their miracles, non shall cast their young in Jesus name.

Pls ooo, I just went to family section now, where someone said people should stop visiting prayer camps and embrace ivf, that they should also mention they got their kids through ivf in their testimonies instead just calling God God.

Do you need to herald your ivf procedure to all including inlaws?

I have read of some urgly stories here of inlaws who almost scattered a mariage cos of it n another who reject adopted baby, all cos they are awaw of it, will you tell inlaws or friends of your process?

Am not of the oppinion you should not tell them, but only to persons suffering the same thing and dat must be after your success.

Maybe am wrong, what's your view or take?
@Prettyrose; You dont need to announce to anyone what you did or how you got your BFP. But you can tell those who have same issues as you just to encourage them. There was this colleague of mine who asked me what I did and I was honest with her and told her the truth and she was like my husband said he wants a natural pregnancy. And I said "tell your husband that you will foot the bills or even half of the bills of IVF and he will forget about natural pregnancy after all you can afford it". She did and they got their BFP at first attempt. She's almost into her 2nd trimester.
I had another situation where I encouraged a colleague to try ivf after ttc for 3yrs and she asked me if that was what I did and I said "does it matter what I did? At least I"ll have people to laugh and play with when I get home". She later came to me and said she knew I did IVF cos the other lady told her and I said "Yes, not just 1 IVF but 6 before I got results" and she was like waooooh, u get mind o! She later told me that its not like she has not thought about it but she can't spend N1m to get a baby and I said "Babe suit yourself. Life is all about priorities.
So there's really nothing wrong in telling those in the same situation as you just to encourage them but for inlaws and relatives who dont need the information, there's really no need cos some of them might be too daft to understand there's absolutely no difference between IVF babies
and "naturally conceived babies". That is if there's any word like that.

zeezzy: @pokom,congrats!@blendy,abeg i sent u a mail.awaiting your response,pls.
Kpele my sister, will check now and get back to you. Av not been around for a while.

This felopio issue is a serious one o. Thank God I didn't make the mistake of recommending it to family and friends after reading someone's testimony on the ttc and ivf thread. Nemesis will catch up with anyone who take advantage of desperate ttc women.

@Iderawole; this ur supplement u keep advertising on every ttc thread, does it not have a name? Abi na u be both producer and marketer so the identity of the supplement is hidden till u're called on fon? If u say its NAFDAC approved, why not spill the details of the supplement in question so we can cross check it online and read reviews and testimonials of others who have used it.

Happy 10th anniversary to u and madam. we thk God for bringing u this far and by His grace u will see many many more years together with ur soldiers round ur table IJN.

All, this God is wonderful o. I had a neighbor that got married last December and when I gave birth in January she was really helpful. Always coming around to help out and she didnt stop even when I resumed work. Most times when I return from work my Nannies will tell me how she keeps shouting from downstairs whenever she hears my boys crying for long and atimes enters my house to assist them and also satisfy her curiousity that the boys are fine. My Sisters, I just keep praying for her too that God too will reward her cos she was going thru all this stress for me and my boys with a very long pregnancy. Just yesterday she gave birth to a set of twins, a boy and girl. Am just so excited and grateful to God for remembering a lot of us this yr. And by His grace this blessing will go round the renaining of us IJN.

Hello Vinediya, I'v heard quite a number of good ivf clinics in ph but am not too sure of their prices. You might need to find these clinics on google, get their fon numbers and put a call through to them. Bridge is in ph, around D/Line area. Their price in Lagos is about 1.1m-1.2m for everythg so I want to believe PH price might not be too different from this. Gyneascope is about 900-1m. Not too sure. Call Dr Jude 08037275377 the owner to find out.
Heard they also do ivf @ Prime. Dr Ikimalo's clinic. Chec their address and fon number on google. Don't know their price though. There's also one new missionary clinic run by white people, don't know the name again o, will find out and get back to u. Heard they are good and their price is about $10,000.
Pls Babes in the house, help this Sister out by listing the good hospitals and their success rates.

HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 11:36am On Aug 24, 2013
PikinMama, it depends on the period we are referring to here. If the period in question is the very first period after the procedure and bfn, one week latest the period should come. If it doesn't come, please tell the person to repeat the pregnancy test as she could be possibly pregnant. I have seen 2 ivf cases like that. One of them my church member who was even carrying twins. It kept showing BFN till about 12wks and the ivf was done @ the Bridge clinic. They cod only see the pregnancy thru scan after she had gone back to complain that her period still hasn't com after the bfn result.
However if its subsequent period after that very first period of the procedure u're refering to, that one is quite relative as it depends on the person's body. It could take as much as 3m for her period to come and become normal gradually because of all the plenty busserelin that she's been given to put her normal cycle on hold. For me, my first 2 ivf,the 2nd period took over 2months to come. My 3rd, 4th and 5th failed ivf were different because I was on metformin so the periods came like one month after the first one.

@Honeypie24, clomid is actually a prescription drug and its better taken when u're being monitored by a Dr. However people still take it to boost their chances even with normal ovulation. Though its good but it doesn't work for everyone as eggs not ruptured during ovulation could turn to ovarian cysts. So don't make it a ritual. As in if u take it one cycle, avoid it like 2cycles after as its absorbed in the blood stream so its still working in ur system even when u abstain from it the next cycle. In all, talk to ur Doc.

britnex: Pls can som1 help me out. I am a ttc and my period suppose to come on 19th of dis month and i have neva missed my period eva sinece i started menstruating. I was very happy wen it ddnt come on 19th d last day for it to come. I have been having dis cramps but dis nyt wwatery blood rushed out. Pls have i lost d pregnancy bfor i kno d nxt fin to do
Did you do a blood test or urine test to confirm you were actually pregnant? If NO, its very possible you were not pregnant in the first place. From experience, most ttc women are faced with a lot of psychological problems which could prevent their period from coming when due. Even if you've never had a delayed period before, stress or any other thing that affects your brain can cause the period to be delayed.
However, if you actually did a pregnancy test and you tested positive before you started bleeding few days later then you really need to see a Dr for assistance cos you could be having a miscarriage
HealthRe: Cost Of IVF In Nigeria by Blendy77(f):
Most ivf hospitals here in naija are discreet about their patient's identity and medical history so people don't get to know what u did except u and ur friends and relatives meet urselves there at the hospital's reception. You could actually do it in europe, india or south africa if u really want privacy cos of his identity. Google is the best tool for scanning thru fertility centers where u're based. However, if decide to return to naija for the procedure, pls go through the thread and the other ivf thread and u will see all the good clinics that have been mentioned like Georges, Bridge, Nisa premier in abj, fertilaid in abj and also Diff in abj. I have no doubt that u'll conceive at first attempt since u've recently carried a pregnancy to term. All the best.
HealthRe: Cost Of IVF In Nigeria by Blendy77(f):
My sister nothing do you if you decide to use a surrogate alongside yourself. I have seen a situation in my hospital where a lady used her Togolese Nanny who was a widow after trying ivf herself several times with no success. The year she decided to use a surrogate alongside herself, both she and the surrogates got BFP. I was at the hospital the day they did the PT test, Omo come see jubilation! The lady did not hide it from us sitting at the reception as she kept hugging her nanny and telling her God bless you for bringing goodluck to her. I had to do small aproko by asking around what the jubilation was all about. That was the day I also started nursing the idea of using a surrogate but then, I couldnt find someone or didnt know how to go about getting someone cos if the hospital were to arrange a surrogate for u, its usually very expensive. And I also didnt feel cool with using relatives as I had a lot of them who would have helped out either cos of the money involved or just goodwill. One of my Sister's huband even encouraged her to do it for me cos they already had 4kids and always feel guilty whenever they see me playing and rolling on the floor with their kids.
My take on this issue is that:
Dont use someone that has never given birth before because whoever you're using has to know what pregnancy and delivery is all about.
Use a widow or divorcee or a single mother.
Never use an under-aged person as well. Let whoever you're using know what they are going into. No Dr in Nigeria that wants to keep his lincense will use an underage age cos with pregnancy anything can happen.
Never use ur surrogate's eggs even if your procedure requires donor eggs. Get a donor from elsewhere so your surrogate is not related to your baby in anyway.
Get a valid agreement signed by a lawyer.
Agree on a price before you start and never pay more than 30% of that money before the delivery of the baby cos I heard they tend to increase the price as the pregnancy progresses since they know you dont have a choice at that point. so its always better to let them have something big to look forward to as they are offloading the cargo.
The truth is so many people use surrogates but dont say cos of the kind of society we live in. All the best.

I almost didn't want to write anythg again when I read Safe's post earlier on. This is because she has said all that needs to be said concerning all ur questions but then, I decide to write a very popular pastor's testimony so you will know that even our pastors who preach faith 24/7 also help themselves with modern technology when the need arise. The pastor heads one of the biggest church in warri around ajamogha road. His first wife didn't have a child for him for several years that they were married. Eventually the wife died and the pastor remarried one very beautiful, God-fearing and bubbling Lagosian. His new wife obviously knew the long delay Bishop had with his first wife and didn't waste time in urging him to embrace modern technology. When church members were told Bishop and Mama were blessed with a set of tripplets, those that want to murmur, murmured that Mama was not seen with pregnancy but the babies look exactly like her so what happened? A lot of the learned ones needed nobody to tell them that Mama and Papa used surrogates abroad to carry their babies and they were blessed with triplets. If u see those kids today, after 7yrs, my sisters, u too will join them in thanking God for putting that kind of idea in Mama's head cos they are just too cute and adorable and every inch like Mama. They were even used for church calender the year they were born. Shey this couple now lack faith or will u say they have committed sin after discovering their challenge and were able to use modern technology to help themselves? Of course NOT! It was God who gave mankind this knowledge to help His people who will need extra help to procreate and replenish the earth because His word has said 'NONE SHA BE BARREN IN THE LAND'. Am sure you wont expect this Pastor to preach surrogacy and ivf in church. Its faith all the way! Send me an email if u want to kno the name of this bishop, ruonar2000@yahoo.com

Winnersh and others who feel modern tech is a sin, I hope I have partly answered ur question?

Akintr1 it is well. Really don't know how to console u after all the stress u went thru to save for the procedure. God will grant u that which u so desire in Jesus name. Take heart my sister. Did they discover any reason that might have been responsible for the failure like hydrosalpnx or what? Was it Emeka that did the ivf? So sorry about ur loss. Its not the end, God who did many natural bfps after failed ivf on this thread has not retired yet so I believe u too will testify soon. Remain blessed Dear.

Pikinmama welldone o, we are fine by His grace.
HealthRe: Can A Girl Who Is Not Pregnant Produce Breast Milk By Constant Sucking by Blendy77(f): 7:20pm On Aug 20, 2013
Its possible for a lady who is not pregnant to produce milk if she has hormonal imbalance resulting in high prolactine levels. She needs to see a gynae to do hormonal profile on her and also treat it with the relevant drugs.

Father thank you for the outpouring of BFPs this season. It can only be You. Olivia big congratulations to you and Hubby. God who did urs will do it for all our waiting mothers on this thread in Jesus Name. This is good news galore!!! Happy and stress free 9m.

Wonderlen I don't think there's anythg like painless hsg o! Its possible the person who said hers was painless is used to pain or has natural painkillers in her. Though some centers like Prisms on Bode Thomas will give u drugs to subside the pains be4 embarking on the procedure. But to say the person didn't feel any pain at all will only mean the person was put to sleep which I doubt. Its just like an injection that will be painful to one person and less painful to the other cos the other person can withstand pain. Its all about mindset. Try prisms sha, they are good. Its on the street by intercontinental bank on Bode thomas or put it on google for the correct address.

So sorry about the failed ivf. Its one of those things we have to put up with in the waiting room. I don't think ur having a retroverted uterus is responsible for ur embies not implanting. I was also told I had it initially via scan and but subsequent scans showed anteverted but that is not an issue as different people have diff womb positions. Since ur tubes are good, u cod try iui in regenesis as the guy's success rate is good. Just don't let him talk u into using donor sperm. All the best, we will put u in our prayers.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 8:03pm On Aug 14, 2013
@Lify, it is well. Kpele my sister, it is not the end of the road. Relax and trust God to reward u with double for ur troubles. I don't know if u read Double Blessing's testimony where she got a natural BFP after a failed ivf? That is God for u. Take heart and trust God for better things to come. I remembered u produced a lot of eggs, I just hope the OHSS didn't affect the outcome. It is well.

@Mamileri, I'll suggest u see a good gynae cos u might not be needing ivf if its just ovulation and ur hsg and sfa are good. Those are the first test the gynae wiill conduct. All the best.
HealthRe: Cost Of IVF In Nigeria by Blendy77(f):
@Wonderlen, its very rare to find a Pastor who doesn't associate delay in ttc to spiritual matter. From my personal experience and most ttc women I've met, most Pastors and deliverance Ministers don't bother with ur medical history as in if ur hsg and hormonal profile is good before concluding that one witch or the other is after u. Am not saying there are no genuine spiritual cases that don't need medical intervention. There are! My advice is do ur deliverance and prayers but also go to a hospital to check that all is well with u and DH. If ur tubes are not too good and DH semen is also on the low side and u can afford ivf, my Sister try conduct ur deliverance and also seek medical intervention.
During the course of my ttc, I heard all sorts from different pastors I went to see for deliverance. From Lag to PH, to Warri, I saw different pastors. Some said my mum, others said my MIL while others said my hubby ex were after me. A friend of mine who said she met her pastor on my behalf also said her pastor told her I've been turned into a man so can never ever conceive except I travel down to abj to see him. I think it was at that point I stopped patronizing deliverance ministers cos most of the thgs they told me then were very easy to believe due to the several failed ivf. My friend kept pressurizing me to com see her pastor until I got really angry one day and screammed on the fon that she should tell her pastor to return me into a woman without seeing me if he was that powerful because I won't travel to abj to see him. I think I was already fustrated at that time cos I had heard all sorts and it was after then I stopped and kept praying and doing my medical research on what to do nex. If ur pastor told u ur case is spiritual, no stress, conduct ur deliverance while ensuring that medically there is nothing wrong with u and hubby.
