Health / Re: Can Late Marriage/pregnancy Cause Fibroid In Women? by Blendy77(f): 9:52pm On May 31, 2013
Late marriage/pregnancy is not the only cause. Genetics is also another factor. If it runs in ur family like ur mum had it, there's probability that u might have it. I have friends who discovered they had massive fibroids in their early 20s and had to operate it. I also have aunties in their 40s who have never been pregnant and they don't have fibroid so apart from age, hereditary plays a major role.

I codn't hold back the tears while reading ur posts probably because I was once in ur shoes. Trust me when I say I know how it feels. That feeling of emptiness and loneliness. But I tell u, its just a matter of time. U'll overcome like I did. I was blessed with a set of twin boys this january in our 7th yr of marriage. And trust me, I don't even remember I was barren at anytime. Its as if they came at the right time. That is how u'll feel when they finally arrive.
It is well with u and ur wife. Ur kids will come. Just keep doing ur best medically and spiritually. And never stop supporting ur wife, she needs it now more than ever.

Spicy congratulations! I wish u and hubby a stress free pregnancy.

Hebrew woman one trick I use on them is cartoon and football stations. I just put them on their bouncers and swings and put a football station on. Atimes musical stations like Trace and Kingdom Africa also help them when they get bored of cartoon. The smaller one used to cry endlessly without any reason even when he is not hungry. We've had some peace since I started using TV therapy on them. They know they are 2 so somehow they have to pity us and co-operate. A friend said its bad sha especially when they become addicted to television but my Sister, I don't mind for now since I have my sanity.

It won't take u away from ur work. After u see the Dr, depending on ur cycle, ur nex appt will be to review ur test results. After which u will start ur busserelin inj on day 21 after ur last period. That done, depending on the kind of busserelin u're given, it might be one off or everyday till u see ur next period. U'll go back for a scan and then fix a date when u'll start fsh inj. U'll be taking that for like 10 days, during which u will be going for scan to see if u're responding well. After like 12days of starting the inj, u do ur EC (egg collection) and 2 days after, ur (ET) embryo transfer. In all of this u can be going to work so no need for leave. Its after the ET that u might need like a wk off. Though u might want to start the leave on the day of EC cos of pain (incases of hyper stimulation) and or tummy might be big in very rare cases. So give and take, u don't need more than 10days off if u must take leave. After ET, u wait for 2wks and return for ur PT (preg test).
So in all, the whole process is like 5-6wks but but u don't need leave till transfer.
All the best.

CityChic, welcome onboard.

Muyinoluwa, kpele my Sister. Didn't chec yesterday but I've just replied u.

Akintr, no vex we have u in mind and praying for u. Like Subzidy said, pray about it as ivf is not automatic but God who sees ur heart will make all things well this first attempt. We will all join u in prayers.

Meanwhile, I just want to advice us to do somethg differently from now on. Can we stop posting our ivf schedule here? As in am doing EC tomorrow and ET nex 2moro. Have we noticed that bulk of the bfps come from those who don't talk about their schedule? Walls have ears my sisters and times are evil. In as much u need our prayers when u transfer and in ur 2ww, its better to do this thg quietly with just ur hubby and Dr in the know. Times are evil I say it again. If at the end, u come out with a bfp, tell us then, we will celebrate wt u and if God forbid, it is a bfn, no wahala too, com and tell us and we will console u and help in looking for a way forward.
Its just my opinion so its open to criticism. Been wanting to post this all this while but for one reason or the other, I keep deleting it after typing but I just want us to know that its for our good. Check my posts from beginning to end, and also cost of ivf thread, and finally blocked tube thread. U will rarely see anywhere I posted my ivf schedule. U'll only see where I've already done it and am talking about my result either positive or negative. I hav friends, relatives and even colleagues who has never called me since I gav birth. The only offence I committed was not telling them anythg when I was pregnant. That is to say there are people who were happy that I didn't have a child. They are excited when u cry n pour out ur heart to them but angry when u finally find a solution to ur problems.
Let when u're are doing ur procedure, collection and transfer be between u, ur hubby, Dr and God. My one cent advice!

Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Blendy77(f): 11:58am On May 24, 2013
Julicoka how old is ur boy? I think its the pap. Its probably not good with his system that is why he is excreting it. One of my boys had same issue when I first introduce pap n sma gold at 3m. For like 3 days the guy kept pooing after eating even up to 4 times a day. I had to stop the pap and kept giving him only the sma gold and breast milk as before and the poo returned to normal, once in 2-3 days. We just started the pap again at 4m 2 days ago so am watching him. No change yet in his pooing pattern for now so we are still watching him cos I intend changing to somethg else if the poo continues.
I think u shd stop the pap and watch him for some days and if possible, boil his drinking water.

Wendy kids are known for rejecting foods they are not used to. I think u should keep trying to get ur baby to take the nan except the baby is throwing up or pooing excessively then u can now talk of changing his formular. Secondly, u cod express ur milk and keep in the fridge/freezer for him if ur sole reason for introducing formular is because of ur job. Ur milk can stay up to 3m when stored in the freezer. All the best.
Secondly how far wt the car seat u wanted to buy? I have brand new Gracco snug ride in PH for sale but its not 10k sha as U might need to increase ur budget if u want it.
Health / Re: Is There Any Solution For Blocked Tubes? by Blendy77(f): 11:28am On May 24, 2013
Na wa. I read a post on the ttc forum and another on the ivf thread where both ladies claimed it worked for them. Though I haven't had time to search for both posts but am sure I read somethg like that. Will look for both posts one of these days. Maybe u should try flushing as well. Don't know how effective it is though but most ladies who tried it on this forum are either pregnant or has given birth. Some natural conception while others thru ivf.

Dominique some of these thgs really happen especially with those who sleep very deep. Or people who are always too tired due to the nature of their job. My hubby sleeps really deep so I know I'll never let my boys sleep too close to him on the bed except am on night vigil. I even snapped a picture recently of one of my boys sleeping with both legs on his twin brothers back. Since then I've stopped sleeping them close to each other cos its obvious he has inherited somethg from somebody (Lol). If boys of barely 14wks can sleep like that, imagine a very tired adult.
Bottom line is those who do hectic jobs and sleep deeply should avoid sleeping with infants on the same bed.

Health / Re: Bed-sharing 'raises Cot Death Risk Fivefold' by Blendy77(f): 11:47am On May 21, 2013
I know its not right sharing beds with infants but its so much easier attending to them when they wake up at night. I was told of a lady recently around ikorodu area (my Aunt's neighbor) who mistakenly slept on her 1m old baby and the baby died. Honestly speaking, I starting using the cot after I heard that story but we are back to sharing bed. Cots/cribs/even play pen are far safer and better.

Health / Re: Sex After Delivery by Blendy77(f): 5:59pm On May 16, 2013
Ebf as contraceptive works for some people but not everybody. I have sisters whom ebf as contraceptive worked for some babies and the other babies were conceived while ebfing without any period. Infact I have a colleague who was almost 3m pregnant while on ebf and no period before she reƀlised she was pregnant. They kept treating her for malaria etc until she decided to do a pt on her own and discovered through scan that she had almost crossed her first trimester without realizing it whereas ebf worked for her 2 other kids. All am trying to say is what works for one person or even baby may not work for the other. Use prevention if u really don't want another baby so soon. Am not on ebf as I also include formular for my boys and they are almost 4m yet no period but for me o, I don't want to bother myself with fear of a natural pregnancy cos I'll embrace it with open hands even with the sweet headache and stress my boys are giving me.
As for reducing ur tummy, use wrapper to tie it as it seem to be more effective than girdle. All the best.
Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Blendy77(f): 5:33pm On May 16, 2013
This is really bad o! Is it not possible she's reacting to something? They shouldn't have bursted it cos such things will reappear more if it doesn't get dried either on its own or through drugs. Did they prescribe antibiotics for her? A friend of mine whose baby had something close to this on her body, though not this much was prescribed antibiotics by a pediatrician and was asked to use sebamed range of baby products. She was also asked not to share the baby's sponge and towel with any other sibling and it worked after a while. Take her to a good pediatrician for proper diagnosis and prescription. I wish u guys the best.

I'll also join in recommending Dr Alabi of South Shore women's Clinic. Met with while I was pregnant and I'll say the guy is good. Though I didn't give birth there. U can google their site for more info about him and the clinic. That guy is good!

@Yellowpawpaw, Ur hubby must be one in a million. Aren't u lucky? Most marriages would have been better if all men know how to apologize when they are wrong. There are men who even champion the nagging after their wives have started it and even kept quiet.
In all sha, we women should know when to stop before things get out of hand.

Honeybony are u starting another procedure this soon? Ur body needs time to heal first. As per the baby aspirin, I think my Dr gives it b4 collection or during stimming. Its been a while sha so can't remember exactly. Pls other members of this forum who used Dr Emeka should help me out. I know I took mine more than 12wks but u're supposed to stop taking it at 12wks, same time u stop cyclogest to avoid excessive bleeding during delivery.

Slusha Darling, it is well. Did ur Doc giv any reasons why ur embies didn't fertilize? How many eggs did they retrieve? Is this your first ivf? what about your spouse's fluid, is every thing ok with his side? Am just trying to ascertain if this has happened b4 and also find out if the problem is from your end or his. Since u're in your 20's, its really difficult advising you to use donor eggs cos u're quite young. Moreover, if the egg is not the problem but the fluid, using a donor egg won't make sense at all.
I'll advise you take a break and sort out these issues first sha b4 embarking on another procedure. If u had sought our opinion b4 embarking on the ET, I wod have advised u not to transfer the grade D embie because a grafe D embie implies that the embie didn't divide properly and might have chromosonal issuess so implantation might be difficult. Moreover since its just 1 grade D embie left, ur Dr did the best thg by advising u to cancel.
Send me an email if u want, let's talk outside here, let's see how we can help. Kpele, this too sha pass. You're still a young Chic and with ur level of faith and God on ur side, the sky is still ur limit. All the best.

Happy Mothers day to all the Mamas in the house. Hope u had a fruitful and joyous celebration?
Today we celebrated Mothers Day in my church and the service was superb. We had the Executive President nation wide of Baptist Women and she shared her testimony of how she had delay in child bearing after marriage and how God helped her to overcome barrenness. She then asked us to stand up and pray for friends and relatives we want God to bless with the fruit of the womb this yr. I stood amongst many other women and prayed specifically for God to bless every single Soul on this thread still in His waiting room. So my Sisters, expect an outbreak of bfps this season because God will not and cannot fail.
I say again, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of u, you shall be Mothers of the best Children on planet earth. This time next year, u will smile and walk head high in the midst of other mothers cos God will make ur own possible. One love.
