HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f):
My people, thanks a lot for this wonderful and powerful prayers. They brought tears to my eyes as I remember all the several ivfs I did, the bfns, the midnight cries and wailings, hmmm, I can't but thank God. Once in a while I look at my boys and ask my self if this is real, if I'm not dreaming. I remember the orphanage I went for adoption and the youth and social ministry at alausa where they were posting me up and down just because I needed a child, company at home, someone to love. I remember the plenty baby clothes I bought a year after my marriage hoping I'll get pregnant and the fustration and depression that followed when nothing happened for 6yrs. I remember the countless friends, colleagues and inlaws who called me barren when it looked like nothing was going to happen after 2yrs. I remembered a friend who said she showed her pastor my picture to pray for me and her pastor said there's no need to pray because I've been turned into a man and I can never bear children except I come down to see him and when I refused, she stopped talking to me.
Sisters, I remember so many things when I look at them and I can only say your time too will come when you'll remember the past and say it doesn't matter anymore because God has given u double for ur trouble. One thing I'll never forget is the fact that those who knew me always saw me as a cheerful person. They will say I like this lady because she's always cheerful and enjoy playing with children and you will never kno she is barren. I'll just smile because they don't get to see me crying at night, even late nights when my husband will just look at me and won't know how to console me except stare at me with red eyes.
My sisters, it is well. I know I'll celebrate with every woman on this thread. If God can give me children, ur case is too small for Him so keep the faith. It might not take long and we all will remember this day and smile. One love and God bless you all.
Sorry for the long post oooo!

Don't mind him jare, he is the same person on brown in the second picture and he is actually my carbon copy. He is our senior bros. U can hardly get a straight picture of him these days if he is not suckling, sleeping or crying. Those are the only things he is good at.

Inwangobio congrats on ur twins scan. This is good news and we thank God. Don't pray for triplets o my brother. The wahala that comes with it both in the womb and after they've been delivered is too much so just thank God for giving Madam what her strenght can carry. Secondly don't wish for a particular sex too before u end up having the opposite. Lol!!! Am taking from experience and the experience of so many of my friends. Though I won't mind being ur inlaw if they turn out to be super falcons just that the list of NL chics on the queue is already long but not to worry, urs too can join the queue. Finally beg Madam to join NL so she can tell us how the twins are kicking her directly. Am happy for u my brother and I wish u both a stressfree pregnancy. The vomiting and nausea should stop in 6wks time by God's grace. Our love to her.

Omogemi my Sis, thanks a lot and welcome back. How's our LO doing? My love and kisses to her.

@ Soapdish, most people mix shea butter with other things like baby cream, glycerine, coconut oil etc because of the fragrance. Unrefined shea butter does not have any fragrance so if u're particular about your baby's scent, u cod mix it. I use it like that, unrefined on my six weeks babies skin and I must say the result is fantastic as compared to other baby's product like Johnson and Sebamed that I used prior to shea butter.

Kike I don't know if clomid clears pcos. I kno it helps with ovulation a lot cos I did ovulate even with the smallest dose of clomid but it didn't make much difference to my pcos. What I can advise is just metformin and eating right. Try losing weight if u're on the big side. Chec online for foods that can help u eat right. Metformin's side effect is not so pleasant at first but it gets better over time and it equally helps u ovulate as well.

@ Manchybabe and all our newbies, welcome onboard. U're not alone on this journey as a number of us went thru what u just described here and so it is my earnest prayer that God who wiped our tears will come to your rescue and that of every other woman on this thread still trusting Him for the fruit of the womb.

@All, am particularly happy today cos my very close friend from secondary school gave birth to a baby boy this evening after trying to conceive for over 5yrs. This God ehnnn, is just too much. It is my prayer that this sort of blessing will go round all those who desire it.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 2:07pm On Mar 11, 2013
As for the PCOS, its just to keep taking Metformin before ur next ivf. I had very bad pcos and I was placed on metformin for a long time. I just kept taking it even without any ivf in sight. Also eat right, fruits and veggies more. Avoid junk, fatty and surgery foods and ur pcos will look better.

Tanidabi u spoke my mind on this multiple embie transfer but I decided not to write on it cos I didn't want to start another argument on NL. Though am an advocate for 3 not 4 embies because of the plenty issues and risks associated with multiple pregnancy. I also wish to point out that the lady with one embie got a bfp because all parameters surrounding the uterus was right and she was also favoured by God whereas the lady who got 4 transferred didn't get a bfn because she had 4 embies. NO! The drilling of the ovaries and collection of the eggs alone is enof stress to the human body on its own. Little wonder most people with donor eggs come out with bfp than those whose eggs were used. I have so many friends even on this NL who used their eggs several times but had negative results. The same women used donor eggs maybe due to age, hyperstimulation, ovarian cysts and inability to produce quality follicles and with first attempts got positive results so I don't agree with the logic that SET will neccessarily lead to BFP. Its not proven medically in any country in the world. Most countries like UK do it just to prevent multiple births not because SET will implant faster than multiple embryo transfer.

Graceful congrats!!!!!!! This is definitely God at work. Wishing u and the twins a stressfree 9m.
HealthRe: Benefits Of Shea Butter On The Skin. by Blendy77(f):
It also minimizes stretch marks on pregnancy. I heard about it while pregnant and started using it during the early stages of my pregnancy. As at when I was due not even a stretch mark was noticeable on my bump and thighs. I also use on my babies as their everyday cream and its very good on them as they are both very light in complexion. So I can attest to the fact that this N20 cream works wonders.

Hello house, how una deyhuh? Good to see this thread moving forward with enof good news and new bees.
Tanidabi, am dusting my dancing shoes and rehearsing azonto and etigi seriously for u. Can't wait to share in ur joy as am convinced God has done it already.

@Tontolo, it is well o! Keep the faith, God who started this journey with u will be faithful to complete it with success. Am trying to understand why ur clinic waited till you have just one embie left to do the transfer. Were u the one who insisted on day 5 transfer? Am kind of confused here because any experienced Dr would have done a day 2 or day 3 transfer for u when they realize the embies weren't doing so well cos the womb is actually the best incubator for them. Did they show u the grade of the one they finally transferred? Am not trying to scare u because one embry can actually implant if every other parameter is ok. I just feel ur Dr didn't do well at all cos 9 fertilized embies is quite a number that u could have even had some frozen if managed properly.

HealthRe: Trying To Conceive Twins by Blendy77(f): 5:12pm On Mar 04, 2013
This thread must not die by fire by force (lol).
Back to serious bizness, there's this yam they eat in some of the western states like Ondo and ekiti and studies have shown its responsible for the high number of multiple births experienced in that region. I think they have the highest Kehindes and Taiwos in Naija.
Am a mother of twin boys but mine is not natural as they were conceived via ivf so u might want to consider it too if u're really serious about conceiving twins. Clomid also works with ovulation triggering injections but not all the time. The easiest is when you have twins in your family as in it runs in your genes. Maybe your mother, father, grand father or mother is an identical twin, then there is probabily that u will give birth to twins. All the best.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Blendy77(f):
My mum did this olive oil n silverbird thing for my babies hair right from birth and that is what they still rob on their hair after bathing. I didn't even know its meant for cold till I read it here. I just didn't want to argue when she and my aunties were mixing all the concoctions. I'll say it worked cos we'v not caught cold yet.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Blendy77(f): 9:18am On Mar 04, 2013
Thanks lullaby n Omogemi, will try the wiping too. The rashes has extented to his ears and neck and we're beginning to think he's reacting to something. Have booked to see a Ped on saturday.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Blendy77(f): 1:41pm On Mar 01, 2013
Thanks Blank, you couldn't have said it any better cos my Doc advised same thg. Its just that my mumsie keeps reminding me of my younger Sis Children who are constantly on admission for cold related cases. As a first time mum it just won't pay me to be arguing with her hence I tot there could be other ways of getting rid of the rash.
You didnt say anythg about dusting powder. Can it be used on their face without any side effect?
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Blendy77(f): 9:23am On Mar 01, 2013
Camry this my twins no dey behave like twins at all o, what affects one most times doesn't really affect the other. When they were born, one reacted badly to Johnsons products less than 48hrs after birth with red rashes and patches all over his body while the other twin wasn't affected. The one that wasn't affected had his skin peeling off from head to toe while the other didn't shed off his skin. So they both don't react to things at the same time.
The rashes is only on his cheeks and forehead. I had cause to believe its heat rashes cos it clears off or rather looks better when we sleep with AC but had to stop it when my mum opposed it even at 28 degrees. Although most of the rashes had gone off this morning as their room was a bit cold last night. The rash appear more during the day when the weather is hot. Is it tru that dusting powder peels their skin? Was thinking of using it on his face when it appears again.

HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Blendy77(f): 12:41pm On Feb 28, 2013
Thanks Blank, am currently using shea butter on their skin right from day 3 of birth cos they both reacted to the Johnson products I bought so was adviced to use shea butter and sebamed soap. I think its heat rashes cos new rash keeps appearing after old ones disappear he only has the rash on his face and forehead.

Double Bee, am glad u finally shared your story here for all to read and be encouraged. My Dear, your joy, testimony, triplets shall be permanent in Jesus name. I can remember how u were inconsolable when ur ivf failed. I felt it to my bones. But see this God, this God is just too much. My Sister, I wish u a stress free 9m. We thank God for this blessing. See testimonies just 2months into the new year. Waoooh, Father thank you for removing one more sister from your waiting room. We believe more testimonies are coming because we won't celebrate alone.

Hebrew woman, u couldn't have said it any better. The joy of just seeing them sure supercedes all discomfort and stress. At times I get fed up when after feeding and changing their diapers they still scream and cry at the same time for hours leaving everyone frustrated. At other times I just smile when they start crying and beg them to pity me as most of the crowd I had the first few wks I had them has disappeared and its just my mum and maid now but I thank God. Really can't complain much, afterall I slept all thru the night for almost 7yrs so its time for vigil for the next 1yr. in all, I thank God for granting me the privilege to experience this.

Hello Mummies in the house, I have a set of twin boys who are almost 5 weeks old. The bigger one has rashes all over his face. My Pediatrician said its heat rashes but all attempt to get rid of it has failed. New rashes keeps appearing as the old ones fade away. He has had it for almost 2wks now. Does anyone know what I can do to remove the rashes permanently? The other twin doesn't have any rashes at all. Although 2 days after birth, his whole skin peeled off from head to toe and I was told its normal. The peeling has stopped and his skin returned to normal. The one with the rashes didn't have his skin peeled off at all as against speculations. Pls anyone who knows what I can do to get rid of the rashes can answer.
Thanks All, for the great job u're doing here.

Nope, he doesn't transfer 5 days embies. Its only Bridge and recently I was told truecare. Maybe others have joined.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 8:34am On Feb 27, 2013
How is everyone doing? Inwangobio, u should be close to the end of ur 2ww. How is Madam doing? Our love to her and the triplets. We are seriously praying for you.

@Tontolo, a family friend of ours got pregnant with Quads there. She said they are very good and affordable too cos they are about the only clinic that transfers blasts aside of bridge and u know 5 days embies have better chances of implanting than the conventional 3 days done by most centers in Naija.

Akintr is it Emeka u want to use? Just let me know when u're ready. u don't need to wait till u save up to 1m. I'll arrange for u to do it at 800k if u're sure u want to use him. I've given him enough customers to warrant a discount for one person and I don't mind giving it to u. So pray about it and if u and ur hubby settles for him, just let me know.
First consultatn with Bridge is 25k to see a Dr at first visit. Don't know if they've reviewed their prices upwards but that was what I paid when I used them last january. This is their number u can call to find out, 0700843274343, 014627448 and 014627446.

One of us on this thread used Regenesis for IUI and got triplets at first attempt. Their prices are reasonable if u want to check them out.
St ives is also doing a promo for 450k.

Uniben teaching hospital does ivf for 250k. Don't know about Luth but very sure of uniben as I have friends who used them.

@Damsell: where are uhuh U also used regenesis. How did it go? Spill the good news na my sister!
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 8:39pm On Feb 17, 2013
Smiler is right, just confirmed that Dr Emeka does it. I've always assumed only Bridge clinic does it. All the best Dear. If you decide to use Dr Emeka's clinic let me know so I can talk him into giving u discounts due to the circumstances with which u saved for this proceduce. Send me an email, ruonar2000@yahoo.com
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 3:05pm On Feb 16, 2013
I don't think Emeka does TESE. Its Bridge I'm sure is good at performing TESE but will find out from him. And with Bridge, you should be looking at spending close to N1.2m. I salute your courage in saving this much to achieve your heart's desire. I pray Baba God who sees the hearts of all men and also your effort will not allow that money to go in vain. St Ives is currently doing a promo for N450k but I can't say for sure if they are into TESE and I also can't tell of their success rates during promos like these.
Heard regenesis is also cheap about 450-500k.
Also UBTH is about 250k without drugs. Just that its a bit far from you but my sister, if u're not working or u can take a month's leave, I suggest you give it a try. This is because ivf can't guarantee u success at first attempt although miracles do happen and because of how precious this money is, I wouldn't want you to burn it. Above all PRAY for God's direction.

Will find out about TESE from Dr Emeka and get back to u. Though his prices starts from 900k excluding tests but he can consider u if he's actually into TESE.

@Smiler, 11yrshuh? I pray God uses Emeka to bless u this time around as He did for me. It is well.

Baby dusts to all of us still waiting as I wish u a fantastic weekend.

Inwangobio congratulations on a successful ER and ET. I join my faith with us for a positive outcome and a stressless 9m ahead. Tell Madam to take things easy this time around. No heavy lifting, no sweet and sugary foods and above all, she should take her cyclo religiously. Was she given baby aspirin? I think that's the only thg my Doc does differently becos they don't give in bridge also. Above all, love and pet her this period cos those little angels need to hear good things from Daddy this period to know they will be loved when they are born eventually. All the best my brother. Didn't know Genbuhari was a guy o!!! Anyways thanks for making our thread unisex. Lolz

Venuss, it is well my sister. All hope is not lost. I will ping u later to link you up with another lady I met here on NL who has same issues as you just to let u know u're not alone. She's almost due with her pregnancy so my Sister all hope is not lost. God is still on the throne. You will surely carry ur babies. Quote me!

All, keep the good work going. Am loving this thread more than ever before. With the support I see here, I know this thread will last for a very very long time. Baby dusts to all of us.
