VENUSS: When I came here today, I saw camrygmails post and also asking about pslam23 the pioneer of this thread. I decided to do a little saerch on pslam23 and I got to read about her divorced in the family section. I wept reading about divorce. I pray God blesses her with her heart desire and give her another chance. Below is a quote from one of her post. So touching. I found myself thinking about her all morning.Psalm23 is fine and coping very well. Divorce is not something we pray for but when it happens like it did in her case, we just have to let go and leave the rest to God. God who sees her heart will definitely grant her that which she so desire. All hope is not lost yet. Meanwhile for those of us who desire to use regenesis hospital, please be very careful and follow your mind. Reports reaching us from my friends who I told to use the place for economic reasons was not so pleasant as its believed the Dr convinces his clients to use donor sperm even with clients who dont have azospermia issues just to improve his BFP records. A friend of mine whose husband had 12million count and 60% motility was being persuaded to use donor sperm by the so called Dr Ekeh. If your hubby"s count is low, ivf/icsi is your best bet or better still TESE if its been ascertain that fluid can be gotten through TESE but dont allow any Dr talk u into using donor fluid when its not an agreement between u and ur hubby because when the wahala will start later, the Dr wont be there to help u. I dont have an issue if the man is aware that he cannot produce viable fluids and agrees with his wife to use donor but when u do it behind his back and he finds out 2moro that the child is not his, he wont even remember u did ivf. So my people, if you're going there, pls follow your mind and if possible repeat ur SFA else where if he claims u need donor due to azospermia issues. |
Camry its not been easy but God has been faithful. I was lucky to resume when my babies were close to 5months, just last week. Am not really a fan of daycare for babies who cannot speak yet. Maybe nex year sept when they will be close to 2, will put them in creche. I got an elsderly nanny, a maid and one of my small cousin who just finished junior waec just to put an eye on them. My mum still works and she's already taken her leave to stay with us when I put to bed. You're very blessed to have both your mum and mum in law around o, arent u lucky? Though I close at 2pm and get home around 2.40 so somehow, we've all been coping. my love and kisses to ur lil daughter. |
Waoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, congrats my Sister. The Lord who started this will see u thru to the end. Our love to LO. |
Congrats once again Bukky. Am happy you shared your story so people can know there are cheaper centers with results. Imagin 450k to 950k Georges or 450k to 1.2m bridge and trucare. God bless u for this. For all my sisters complaining about the cost of ivf, pls embrace this clinic and help urself. |
Mutty.babe, you've been given all the best advise you can ever get. Gone are the days when people are ashamed of discussing CS. Like you"ve been rightly told, the most important thing is for both u and ur babies to be ok after everything. My case is actually the opposite of urs cos I wanted CS.I ran away from a particular hospital I was referred to by my company because the Dr kept insisting he's not gonna do a CS on me at 37 or 38 weeks. He said I dont need it even though money wasnt the issue since my organization will pay any amount incurred at the end. My both babies were cephalic but I didnt want to take chances of going into labour maybe because I waited 7 years to have a baby. I eventually went to the hospital where I conceived them and paid from my pocket because they have my history and are also willing to help me see my children without any complications. In less than 3 days I was discharged from the hospital after giving birth and in less than 2weeks it was difficult for anyone to believe I did CS cos I was very ok. My Sister rejected CS when she was told her baby was too big at 37weeks. She eventually carried the pregnancy to 41 weeks and went into labour after her water broke. And after 5hrs of labour, the Drs told her her baby was distressed and her only option was a CS and she agreed becos she didnt have a choice then after all the suffer. Eventually, when the baby came out, she weighed 4.8kg. Already looking like a 3m old baby. The only thing they kept saying at the hospital was that she was lucky because scan didnt even pick that size so anythg cod have happened. They knew the baby was big but not up to that size so u can imagine the suffer. So my Dear, listen to your Drs if the need arise that CS is the only option available to you. All this turning of breech babies to cephalic is very risky and I know you dont want to risk both ur life and that of ur babies. Moreover, there is nothing God cannot do between now and when you will give birth. |
Ticha, a very big congratulations to u and Hubby. We thank God for this good news and I pray He who started this miracle will complete it to the end. Our love to ur LO. tanidabi: @inwangobio tanx for ur concern o am just taking it easy, the truth is am der's been so much on my mind lately dt I don't even have the strength to go thru anoda cycle for now, things tins aint cheap o,anyway how ur madam and the triplets?Sure u all deyHope u're good? Its ruonar2000@yahoo.com |
From my own experience, the list they giv u at the hospital contains just what they expect u to bring while coming for delivery. Don't know if other hospital gives u a comprehensive list of everythg the baby needs. What u and wifey should put together for the first 3m after birth: Body suits (they com in pair of 5-7) 1-2packs is fine if u intend washing every other day Sleepsuits (pack of 3). 2-3 packs. Try buying unisex colours of bodysuits and sleepsuits so u're not taken unawares. Bath set Outfits for going out. (U need like 2-4 for the first few months since outing won't be much at this stage) Toiletries like soap, oil, lotion, powder, shampoo (avoid johnson if possible for the 1st 1m) u can buy boots or Chicco. Shawls (2-3) one for staying at home and the other for going out Caps, mittens and booties/socks Sterilizing unit and feeding bootles (u cod buy either avent or tummy teepee) A cot or playpen (not too compulsory if u want ur baby to share beds with u) Diapers (size 1-2) a carton or 2 should be fine if u're buying huggies A bouncer/rocker (so ur baby does not get too use to be carried by hands all the time. Not too compulsory though if u're on a tight budget). Cotton buds and cotton wool. Olive oil and spirit. Flask Maternity bra and br.east pads Will post more when I remember or other mums in the house can complete whtever I've missed out. Also, u can stroll down with wify to Balogun market on a weekend if u want to cut costs from these expensive baby shops. There's a section where they sell foreign stuff. If u enter from adeniji (just b4 obalende) drive straight till u get to Ojo giwa street (actually the 2nd street on ur right from adeniji). Ending of Ojo giwa street is where they sell foreign stuff. Just accompanied a friend there recently and we discovered the plaza. Foreign Baby things are very cheap there. |
Like others have said, knowing the sex b4 delivery is actually not a big deal as scans can disappoint u. I've seen a situation where a colleague was told she was expecting a boy. She even had pictures of the scan showing its a boy. Only for us to pay her a visit the day she delivered and met the poor Chic all wrapped up in blue in her little hospital cot. I have so many other friends with similar experience. All u need in the first few months of delivery is more of body suits and sleep suits, caps and shawls and u cod buy unisex colours like cream, green, brown, grey and yellow. Outfits u may need might not be more than 2 each for immunization and 6weeks check-up and by then u cod get other outfits since u're now sure of their sexes. Same goes for ur baby room, accessories like bath etc. All the best. |
ZaraBrown, that's a million $$$$$$ question o! Bridge has one of the best facilities in Naija in terms of ivf. They are very good wt blastocyst transfer. The only issue me I hav wt them is customer relations and also the fact that they don't give discounts to returnee clients except 30k or so. The decision is entirely urs on whether to reuse them or try a different clinic entirely. Pray about it and let God direct u. |
T-Wallpapers, congratulations Dearie. God who started this will perfect ur testimony IJN. I wish u a safe and stress free 9m. Akintr, I dey jare. Am resuming work on monday after a very long mat leave so this week has been really hectic due to plenty preparatn to ensure everythg is in place b4 I start work. Venus, bridge also has record of Bfps. Just that most of their clients don't return here to share their testimonies. I know like 3 ladies on NL who got results thru them. ZaraBrown, it is well. I think u shd try another fresh cycle since FET gave u a bfp. Though it cod hav been chemical preg since u lost it very early even b4 the 6wks scan. If u got a bfp thru FET, u will most likely get preg thru fresh embies that will stay. In all, keep trusting God, He is the giver of babies whether ivf or natural conception. All, I throway salute o! More BFPs by His grace b4 this month end IJN, Amen! |
Lots of good fertility clinics in abuja have been mentioned already including fertilaid where Inwangobio got their bfp though I don't know their price for iui. I hope one of our abuja peeps can answer that. Nogen how u dey? This una lime bizness, una weldone. Love and kisses to all waiting mums out there. |
Where are u based? |
Avoid going to bed with ur make up on. No matter how tired u are, try washing off all make over on ur face if u can't take a bath. Using mild facial soap and warm water works best for me than cleansers and scrubs. Though depending on ur skin type. Also avoid all this plenty foundation etc they sell in the market. Most of them prevents ur skin from breathing so imagine what happens when u go to bed with foundation on. |
Ipio, kpele my Sister. Have just replied u. Been busy all day so didn't chec. Merciful, u're welcome onboard. I pray ur stay here as a waiting mother sha not be long by God's grace. Meanwhile ivf is between 100-150k. I know Dr emeka charges 120 or so for everythg so u can giv him a shout to confirm. Regenesis is also between that range but don't know if it includes drugs. All the best Dear. |
Iykmau, it is well o! I can imagine what u're going through. There is nothing God cannot do and I know ur miracle is near. I know some families like that too that has same issues and some how things turned around for them because they never gave up. It is well my Sister. I like ur spirit cos I know u'll overcome. Nurika, Abuja is quite an expensive town so I understand u perfectly. Don't give up Dear. Just keep trying ur best. |
Akintr pls post their address and fon nos here for those who might want to contact them. PikinMama, we miss u wella, even when we no ask of u physically, u're always in our tots n prayers. The boys are good. Learning how to sit gradually. Our love to ur lil Angel. |
For those of us trying to cut cost, I posted this on the cost of ivf thread and tot I shd share it here as well. Akintr and co, u guys should also look at Regenesis fertility clinic. They seem to be having results there, as lots of BFPs are being announced from that end regularly and to think that ivf is just 450k with them. The last Bfp we got on the ivf thread, Buccacious is from them. Remember also that Believr84 who delivered triplets also got her BFP there with IUI. So for those of us trying to cut cost, pls give this Regenesis a thought. Buccacious is still coming to share her testimony on the ivf thread |
Nurika there's nothing God cannot do. There are people who still can't get pregnant even with their billions and ivf. Its God that gives children no matter our effort just that we have to keep doing our best and leave the rest for Him. Are ur tubes patient? Have u been to a Dr to have u checked? Fertility tests can be quite expensive sha but if u can do an hsg to be sure ur tubes are fine and hormonal profile as well then u'll know the next step to take. U can also try LUTH for these tests if u're in Lag. I feel ur pain my Sister but there's really nothing God cannot do. Meanwhile hav u ever tried these local ijaw and urhobo massagers? They are very cheap and lots of peeps are lucky to have result thru them but that is if ur tubes are good. Where are u based? It is well. Nogen my Sister, our ivf thread is still very much active. I read through all the posts daily when am less busy and comment where necessary. This is a sister thread to that one so posting here once in a while serves same purpose. Moreover people considering ivf need to look at cheaper centers hence the info on regenesis hospital. |
I know they are somewhere around Toyin street but don't kno the exact address but u can search for it on google. I know I saw it once even wt the Dr's fon number. Type regenesis fertility center lagos. I hope one of their patient will post the correct addr one of these days. |

Are u also in ph? They've already sent them to me in Lag over the weekend. Send me an email to discuss the price. I've also got fisher price bouncers and play gym abi mat, Gracco twin stroller, designer baby clothes (Calvin Klein, Ralph etc) male/female 0-12m, Chicco lullarby play pen as well. Everythg is new and has not been touched. They were actually things I bought online from the US but my contact didn't ship them on time so I got replacements for most of them when I codn't wait. The container they were in eventually docked at Onne port instead of Lagos hence I was asking the PH lady if she was interested. But send me an email and I'll give u the price. Ruonar2000@yahoo.com |
U go ask Dr google that one o! Drs will tell u early pregnancy and child bearing prevents it to some extent. some people claimed to have had theirs removed with local herbs. Don't know how true and possible this is. Surgery is widely used even though most fibroids grow back if there is no conception within a long time. |
Congratulations Mstia. God is great. Welcome onboard LO, the joy you have brought to ur parents shall be permanent IJN. Our love and kisses to ur DD. |
Late marriage/pregnancy is not the only cause. Genetics is also another factor. If it runs in ur family like ur mum had it, there's probability that u might have it. I have friends who discovered they had massive fibroids in their early 20s and had to operate it. I also have aunties in their 40s who have never been pregnant and they don't have fibroid so apart from age, hereditary plays a major role. |
I codn't hold back the tears while reading ur posts probably because I was once in ur shoes. Trust me when I say I know how it feels. That feeling of emptiness and loneliness. But I tell u, its just a matter of time. U'll overcome like I did. I was blessed with a set of twin boys this january in our 7th yr of marriage. And trust me, I don't even remember I was barren at anytime. Its as if they came at the right time. That is how u'll feel when they finally arrive. It is well with u and ur wife. Ur kids will come. Just keep doing ur best medically and spiritually. And never stop supporting ur wife, she needs it now more than ever. |
Big congratulations to Pinkydaisy. We thk God for safe delivery. Welcome on board lil Angel. God bless u real good. Always Baby I no mind for now so far there's relative peace no wahala. Though just got them seaters abi walkers so the joy of running around their room and the music that keeps woozing out of it is gradually occupying the space of tv. I kno its only a matter of time b4 they get bored of it. But we will restrategize again when we get to that point. Hebrew Woman, thks for the info. Your baby is quite young at 5 wks. Hopefully she will outgrow it gradually. Na shakara all of them dey do cos they know they are very precious. |
Venus this pinkydaisy mata tire me too o! No word from her up till this time. Babe just come whisper and walk away as usual na. We won't be angry even if u don't want to partake in the naming RSVP. Pls come in and drop a word and our love to L0. Abibby dem never reach that levels yet but we're waiting. They were 4m over the weekend so we are gradually getting there. |
Happy Children's Day to my lovely Dudes. Thanks for bringing joy to our home. As u celebrate this day, I use u guys as a point of contact to all waiting mothers on NL. Just as I was blessed this time last, come may 27th 2014, their kids will also join in celebrating Children's day. Happy Children's Day R & R! |
Yes o, may God who did mine come to ur Sister's aid. Thanks for the support u're giving her. It is well! |
Spicy congratulations! I wish u and hubby a stress free pregnancy. Hebrew woman one trick I use on them is cartoon and football stations. I just put them on their bouncers and swings and put a football station on. Atimes musical stations like Trace and Kingdom Africa also help them when they get bored of cartoon. The smaller one used to cry endlessly without any reason even when he is not hungry. We've had some peace since I started using TV therapy on them. They know they are 2 so somehow they have to pity us and co-operate. A friend said its bad sha especially when they become addicted to television but my Sister, I don't mind for now since I have my sanity. |
Pinkydaisy, we are patiently waiting for the good news. How are u and lil one? Waiting to celebrate wt u. Like PrettyMomma and Venus have said, pls pop in to say hi. |
It won't take u away from ur work. After u see the Dr, depending on ur cycle, ur nex appt will be to review ur test results. After which u will start ur busserelin inj on day 21 after ur last period. That done, depending on the kind of busserelin u're given, it might be one off or everyday till u see ur next period. U'll go back for a scan and then fix a date when u'll start fsh inj. U'll be taking that for like 10 days, during which u will be going for scan to see if u're responding well. After like 12days of starting the inj, u do ur EC (egg collection) and 2 days after, ur (ET) embryo transfer. In all of this u can be going to work so no need for leave. Its after the ET that u might need like a wk off. Though u might want to start the leave on the day of EC cos of pain (incases of hyper stimulation) and or tummy might be big in very rare cases. So give and take, u don't need more than 10days off if u must take leave. After ET, u wait for 2wks and return for ur PT (preg test). So in all, the whole process is like 5-6wks but but u don't need leave till transfer. All the best. |
