Where are all my millenium mama's in the house? Please I beg you all, Where is Oviasouth, MrsM, Daniella and aLl those who are starting their procedures this month. How far have you guys gone? My lovely, adorable twins send their love straight from the comfy of mummy's womb to all of u and are praying seriously that you will be next to carry yours and even triplets if u so desire it. Speak the word my sisters that none shall be barren in the land and also remember that you're in God's waiting room for a purpose, to bring forth the next most important person in the world. After all, all the waiting mothers in the bible made history as they all delivered mighty men of Valour. You are all specially and wonderfully made and God will definitely grant you the desires of your heart. No woman is better or more special than you because they have kids, their timing is only earlier than urs cos urs will surely come. Baby dust to all my mamas in the house. Will be going for my 20wks scan soon, will keep u guys updated if my Gs agrees to open their legs wide for us to see. Can't wait. Baby dusts and sticky vibes to all of u, muaaah much love.
FoodRe: How To Make Unripe Plantain Porridge by Blendy77(f): 3:39am On Sep 14, 2012
Scent leaves in place of pumpkin leaves gives it a better taste. And its usually prepared with dried or smoked fish not fresh fish, well try both at different times and you'll see the difference. Its called KKF in most Niger Delta states (kekefeyai, Ijaw) and its a special food prepared in some weddings and traditional marriages for those who want somethg different from the regular rice and swallow. I prepare it every chrismas morning while waiting for rice and chicken to get ready. Mixing it with ripe plantain gives it an entirely different taste so its not the same thing as using only unripe. Unripe only is the best.

All my TTC sisters in the house, my candid advice is to ignore mrs Chima and her silly comments. God knows how to reward her kind of people and their ego. Adoption is not bad if you can cope with it but rubbing it on peoples faces that not everyone is meant to have children shows how shallow minded some people can be. After reading all her other comments, am forced to believe only a computer virus can write most of those things since they dont have a heart neither do they have feelings but if its a human being, then whoever it is obviously doesnt have a heart. There are people who are very fertile but still adopt because they love children. I've always told my hubby about adoption alongside my biological children because I grew up in a home filled with several children even though my mum only had 3. Today every one calls her mummy because she has made something out of their life and even when I couldnt conceive, quite a number of them want to be surrogate mum for me because of the way my mum treated them while growing up with us (most them are married with several kids and doing well in their field of study).
I have started my adoption process already before I took in and am still in the process because my hubby knows my heart that I love children. I still visit orphanages in my area in my free time to play with all the kids I've grown fond of during my ttc days. It is because of this singular reason,
Lets keep the faith that God will give us our own if that is what we desire and if in the process we decide to adopt, we should also pray for God's divine direction so we will not regret it nor make any mistakes while choosing.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 4:12pm On Sep 12, 2012
You might just have to retrieve the statement that some people are not meant to have children. Nobody is meant not to have children and if you have then go and thank God for you and I want to believe you have people either in your family or friends around you who are also suffering from either primary or secondary infertility. I was wondering why your hubby doesnt want you to adopt. You might also want to share his reasons with us cos its obvious he still wouldnt have allowed you to adopt even if you're among those who are not meant to have children. If you also read most of my mails, you would have also read where I wrote about adoption and surrogacy as last resort so coming here to tell us about adoption is not what we already dont know.
finally, all the ladies on this forum are Nigerians so since you're well grounded about adoption, let the relevant authorities know like I said that their process is too rigorous and fustrating for the few that want to consider adoption. I was actually expecting to hear you alreday adopted so since you dont have the nerves to adopt alongside with your biological children, please leave those that want to have their biological kids alone, dont come and tell us what we already dont know. Thank God for u, the best you can do is either to encourage those seeking ivf or read our posts in silence but coming here to say some people are not meant to have their own but receive is very harsh of you.
HealthRe: Is There Any Solution For Blocked Tubes? by Blendy77(f): 9:15am On Sep 12, 2012
So many suggestions has been given already but none has been proven medically to work. Some people have suggested flushing the tubes, some suggested herbal remedies like felopio (havent seen anyone it worked for though) while others suggested surgery. I cant tell which one actually works. I did flushing but still got pregnant through IVF so cant tell if the flushing worked or not as I didnt bother to go for another HSG. Medically Drs dont advise surgery as its believed the tubes return to their blocked state after a while and the risk of tubal complications leading to total removal is high due to infections and other complications since they are very delicate. So my Dear Sister, trust God to direct you on the best step to take.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 9:03am On Sep 12, 2012
Mrs Chima, can you tell us how easy it is to adopt in Nigeria and particularly Lagos state. The last time I checked, its not as easy as you sound here. There are people who submitted their application letters over 2-3years now and they are yet to get approval. I submitted my own letter at Alausa since September last year and up till now I havent been invited even for interview cos according to them people submitted their application letters earlier than mine and they also havent been invited. Except the adoption you are refering to here is the illegal one done in the East where babies are sold for 300k and above. Because the stress and fustration encountered by trying to adopt legally has made a lot people to go through the illegal way and that accounts for the increase in so many illegal homes where teenage pregant girls are harboured and kept till delivery.
So before you start telling us about adoption and how some people are made to have children while others are not (don"t know where you got that from anyway), please advise the authorities involved in adoption to make the process easy for couples who are genuinely interested in adopting and can afford to take care of the babies. If you think adoption is a taboo in Africa then you havent done your homework properly because you need to visit these ministry to ascertain the number of application letters they receive in a month not to talk of a year. not only Lagos, please go round to other states like Delta and Rivers because the Delta state government recently gave out over 80 babies and the PRO of that ministry said they receive an average of 10,000 applications a year. It was all over the news so do your research well my sister.

HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 1:37pm On Sep 04, 2012
Nothing jor, I know I did some serious herbal baths for infections, one mama gave me leaves in warri to boil and seat on for three days, some to drink etc. but i did all that before the flushing and even before going to bridge this year so cant say if it worked or not but can conveniently say consistent discharge I had for a long time disappeared. i did it a year before this ivf that got me pregnant so cannot say it helped. The woman is an herbal midwife (ijaw massager according to NLanders)and gave me those stuff to clear infections since she believed i wasnt getting pregnant cos my system was dirty (lol, according to her) but I still didnt get pregnant on my own so cant tell but my friends who told me about her got pregnant with her treatment (that was why i went in the first place). Not evryone believes in native herbs but my area (naija delta) we dont forbid it.
Just relax, clear any infection if any and take your multivitamins judiciously. Above all, pray without seizing cos its God that gives.

Topal thks a bunch. Hope our baby girl has started kicking gradually?

Ovia, I think you keep taking suprefact till the last day of stimmi. There is a single dose they give atimes but he didn't use it for my last cycle for reasons best known to him cos that one is actually better but more expensive. So give and take, 3-4weeks.

God will do it for all of us still in His waiting room. His word said none sha be barren in the land so keep the faith. A colleague of mine gave birth to twins last week, a boy and a girl after 8yrs of marriage. Can't tell if its ivf as no one talks about it when it becomes positive but who cares anyway. When u see those little angels, u can't but love them and praise God for removing one more person from ttc club. We thank God!
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f):
I had hysterioscopy prior to this cycle so had it done just once. It's just a. Simple procedure to check the inside of the uterus. Although u'll be sedated due to pains. Baby dust to you all. My twins are fine and am beginning to feel little kicks, they are all grown now and by my next appointment in 2 weeks my Doc promised to check their sex. Really can't wait even though I know it won't any difference to how I love them. Just curious! Been praying for a boy/girl or 2girls and hubby is been praying for 2boys. Infact he keeps dreaming his 2boys so we're waiting to see whose prayers God will answer. Lol, really funny as if we requested for a particular sex when trying. Then we prayed for anyone. See how prayer request has changed a nd we are now Oliver twist, asking for more.

Welcome onboard. I used suprefact for down reg as in day 21 of ur period, fostimon for stimmi and cyclogest supersitory as progesterone. Haven't used Nordica b4 so can't tell but will also like to encourage other people who have used them to share their experience.

I have never used frozen embies but I still have some preserved in GeorgeS befor I left for bridge. Its about 250k for 6months and 50k thereafter every month. Embryo freezing is an expensive biz in naija
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 11:18pm On Aug 21, 2012
I can't tell if ithe flushing was successful as I didn't go for hsg afterwards. The Dr only told me it will be open since it was just peri fimbrai adhesions (end tail of the tubes adhesions) I had. Tried naturally for like 6 months and had to embrace IVF again when somehow from nl became positive with bridge. Most of the policies they have which I don't buy
1.) no follicle monitoring till day 10 of stimming 2.) no transfer of more than 2 embryos 3.) no consistency with drs as i met like 4 different drs with my 2weeks of stimming, collection and transfer, in all my visits, I never met the md once. Was told he attends to special Clients only. 4.) I had hyperstimulation becos I wasn't monitored on time so had difficulty in walking cos of my potruding tummy yet 30mins after collection a nurse was seriously trying to wake me up from my semi-conscious state that I have to leave because they have another collection and they don't have enough room to keep patients. Even when they were able to call my hubby to come pick me up, none of the staff assisted me into the car except a security man who saw that my hubby alone couldn't carry me cos I was drowsy and throwing up in the premises. I was rushed to my company's clinic from there when our resident Dr heard what happened and how I wasnt conscious. A female Dr with Bridge later called like 2 days after to apologize and asked me to come for them to examine me that they were informed of my condition. 5.) on the day of transfer, i was told after about an hr of transfer that they close at 5 pm on Saturday so I have to wait for my hubby outside. (mind you I still wasn't well and only just did transfer an hr ago). In fact they were even contemplating not doing the transfer due to my condition of ohss cos they felt I couldn't handle it but I wanted to get the whole horror done with hence I insisted on bearing the pain and going ahead with the day 5 transfer. The other option would have been to freeze it till am ok but didn't want frozen embry transfer so I left my admission bed and went ahead with the transfer. Finally 3 months after, the md dr ajayi called to apologize on behalf of the clinic after they called to enquire when I'll be coming for a second cycle since the First one turned negative after all the trauma. My sister, pls tell me how I can recommend anyone to this clinic after this kind of treatment. Even my 8 blastocyte grade ab that was left after the transfer, I told them to discard it cOs I didn't want anythg to take me there again. Am happy God crowned my effort with success when I returned to George's 4 months after and gOt a positive result.

Oviasouth, I also thought of using felopio but later changed my mind when I couldn't find anyone who used it successfully. I had a thread on solution to blocked tubes and a lot of people came up with some meaningful suggestions including flushing so you can go through that thread in your spare time but I can't tell if anyone of them really works cos I got pregnant thru IVF after doing the flushing stuff as well. Am really not advertising Dr Emeka to you o, if u got pregnant with Bridge in the North, my sister, stick with them cos it's always better to go where works for you. Bridge has a good success rate, it's just their procedure and policies am against.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 10:29pm On Aug 19, 2012
IUI is also useful but I personally haven't heard anyone say they became positive from It. Most of my friends that did iui ended up doing IVF after several negative results. It's actually far cheaper than IVF and less invasive but the success rate in NAIja is very low even in cases of unexplained infertility.
