HealthRe: *~Blendy Voted Health Section Poster Of 2012 *~ Congratulations by Blendy77(f): 8:14am On Dec 24, 2012
Waooooh, I feel honoured to know I wasn't only nominated but also won the health section poster of the year. Hmmmm, good to know my little write-ups on the ivf and ttc thread made a difference in some families lives this year.
My appreciation goes to all those who nominated me, am grateful. It is my prayer that all who are still in God's waiting room will celebrate come 2013 IJN! Same goes for all of us who are almost there, God will perfect that which He has started and deliver us safely like the hebrew women.
Odunnu, thanks a bunch!
Psalm23, thanks for starting the ivf thread, you initiated it and today a lot of peeps have been blessed by that thread. Pls stop by once in a while to say hello. We miss you.
Agiboma thanks for putting up the pregnancy thread, I must say I've also learned a lot personally from people's experiences.
MamaT the prayer warrior, congrats once more, we are happy for you!
To every other silent reader of our ivf and ttc thread, pls do stop by once in a while to pour out your heart, you are not alone on this, God who did mine and all the other pregnancies is still going round to distribute more so don't give up cos yours might be next. One love!!!

Mods, where my Diapers to accompany this award? Lolz!!!
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 8:25pm On Dec 23, 2012
Lolz. Maybe Madam CC and Madam Dominique will give me 2 cartons of Diaper for all this plenty Campaign u guys are doing for me cos that's the only thing on my head now. But come to think of it, I just post here without knowing people are being touched by my posts. With all the trouble I dey cause here? Well, all those I've stepped on their toes and argued with at one time or the other, find a place in ur heart to let by gone be by gone. My twins on my mind right now. Can't wait to see who they look like.
HealthRe: *~Blendy Voted Health Section Poster Of 2012 *~ Congratulations by Blendy77(f):
Just stumbled on this thread. Good to know some people find my posts useful and informative enough to want to vote me in as health poster of the year . I appreciate.

Hope we are also allowed to vote as well?
My vote goes to Dominique and MamaTriplets.

Dominique for responding to most thread without reading and running away (her usual words) in always trying to see how she can help and save a situation, even on threads without replies and followers.
MamaT for always spicing up the TTC thread with call to prayers and teaching us bedroom slogans like knackson. And also for being the latest celebrated Preggy on NL.

Dominique sorry for breaking ur rules by voting u. Just it now that Mods are not be voted but I thought we voted genbuhari last year even as a mod? Just asking.

Udemm, congratulations, so happy for you. This is good news and we thank God. Am very sure we passed ourselves that day cos I was there when the lady entered with her baby and was still there pursuing my maternity leave letter when she left so if you met the lady you must have met me there that is if you didn't seat close to me. Don't know if you saw Dr Emeka teasing me over how the lady brought 10bags of rice to greet them that me I only come to disturb him instead of bringing goodies like the elderly lady and I smiled and said I'll do more than 10 bags after my babies have been delivered safely. And the matron and Dr Emeka's PA screamed amen. Congrats on your BFP, you see how God still performs 12th hour miracles. To Him be all the glory as I wish you a stress free nine months with twins and triplets. Lots of hugs and kisses to your babies.

@ Arisolama, inwangobio and others have mentioned a clinic in gwarinpa estate, you might want to read their posts again to get the name of the clinic. I also know a lot of peeps used National Hospitals but can't tell of their success rate. On the other hand, you can still use google to get the names of IVF clinics in Abuja, bring the names to this thread to find out if anyone has used them before. Heard bridge is also in Abuja or kaduna, not too sure again. All the best with your search. Would have been of help if you were in Lagos. All the best Dear.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 7:29pm On Dec 21, 2012
Iwangobio, we are great, waiting for everything to end soon. We thank God for His faithfulness, He will surely make this 5th cycle to be your last by His grace. Lots of testimonies are being shared this season and yours and everyone on this thread is next. He will do it. Did u read the latest testimony on the ttc thread? God is definitely at work and this season, more bfp's will abound by His grace. My heart goes to everyone who had a BFN this month, don't give up, God can and will still do it even naturally so please don't feel sad. We shall all carry our babies come 2013 IJN.

Just on tuesday this week, I went to Georges for my normal ANC and this elderly couple walked in with a cute baby strapped to a young ladies back. I generally assumed the baby was their grand child and they probably escorted the young lady and the baby to the clinic. To my surprise all the staff of the clinic including the MD all came down and were congratulating the elderly couple and carrying the baby. Tears dripped from my eyes when one of the nurses explained how the woman conceived but went abroad to have the baby that is why they were all jubilating cos they were seeing the baby for the first time. I was really touched. If God can do it for that couple at that age, I want to encourage us not to give up cos God has not retired from the good work of producing babies, He will surely do yours. Keep the faith and put prayers first before any procedure you choose to do. God is still at work and YOURS is next.
HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Blendy77(f): 6:01pm On Dec 21, 2012
Mama triplets, CONGRATULATIONS in capital letters. God is indeed faithful. I thank God for honoring His word in your life. I'm glad all can see the miracles fervent prayers can bring even at the 12th hour. God is indeed faithful and to him alone be all the glory. Congrats Girl, I wish you a stress free nine months!!!
God who started this is ever faithful to distribute more before the end of 2012 so I wish everyone still in God's waiting room the 12th hour anointing for babies. It will surely go round by His grace in Jesus name!
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 8:25pm On Dec 14, 2012
You guys should take heart. Cry if it makes you feel better but always know at the end of every IVF, its God that gives. He knows best and needs you to keep concentrating on Him no matter what! Just know that one day, you will conquer and the sad days will be remembered no more. I always tell my story to encourage people. When I tell my colleagues and close friends that I did 6 ivf, the only question they ask is 'why did u keep doing it with all the negative results and wasting ur money' and my response was and will always be that 'I believe God that one day it will work'. Today, am expecting twins to the glory of God and we are almost there.
My sisters, I don't pray for even my enemies to pass thru what I went thru but don't give up. Take a break and try naturally with your hubby if your tubes are good. Miracles do happen everyday. One love. We are all in this together till you all Succeed at achieving a BIG FAT POSITIVE. One love.
Who has not seen my tummy yet? That is what God can do!

Oviasouth, what really happened? Have you done the Day 14 blood test? Dont give up just like that. Miracles still happen. What happened?
HealthRe: Pregnancy And Baby Bump Pics. by Blendy77(f): 9:34pm On Dec 13, 2012
Abi o! You can't be too sure as miracles still happen. I also have that very bitter taste in my mouth but was told to avoid the colas as they tend to contain caffein. Was told sprite and 7up is better so I mix it with water and try not to drink more than a bottle in 2days. You can also try mixing fresh orange, apple or pineapple juice with water. Its far better than soft drinks. Kpele, before u know it, you're there.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 10:02am On Dec 12, 2012
Bucacious Bukky, welcome back. where have you been? Thanks for your prayers, I need it more than ever as this journey is almost coming to an end.
What's been happening to you? Any new update?
Wishing everyone lots and lots of baby dust this season.
HealthRe: Pregnancy And Baby Bump Pics. by Blendy77(f): 9:47am On Dec 12, 2012
Amen my Sister. You're big sha at 16weeks. Are you carrying twins also? Just cut down on sweet things and depend more on fruits and vegetables. Although I started like that sha, eating only fruits for breakfast, then unripe plantain and Ugu/efo for lunch and any other thing for dinner. That helped a lot but now, I eat almost everything ranging from biscuits to soft drinks but still try to take my fruits inbetween meals. I dey fear fat, and God has been kind enough, just few Kgs I added.

pinkydaisy: @blendy, having your way is an understatement sef, i dey feel like queeen for work ohh even at home,,,,when i wan show myself, i'll just make face like who wan cry and walk like am about to fall asleep and everybody will be like, ahh kpele, sorry,,,do you need anything,,,,,, tongue tongue tongue tongue cheeky innit??
You can say that again. One of my Gms even told my immediate boss that she should come and report to her if anybody disturbs me too much in our office. And the woman jokingly said "that means I'll be reporting myself everyday cos am the only one disturbing her in this office" and everyone started laughing. It was so funny. they are all nice to me sha maybe cos of the 6years delay. Cos I know I've gotten away with a lot of things that ordinary my immediate boss wont take even with other pregnant women.
HealthRe: Pot Belly, Quick Fix Solution by Blendy77(f): 9:09pm On Dec 11, 2012
There's this vest sold be the marketers of body magic, it helps a lot as it works like the female girdle used in packaging the belly inside.
Secondly avoid eating and drinking late as it worsens your condition. Also try working on your weight if u're on the big side. In all, I think a very good girdle can help cos if your tummy is tied with little space, your food intake will also reduce.

Olikili Dear, take heart, God knows best. Am happy you have 2 for all your effort. Thank God for keeping them strong and well. Hope you're good and have been discharged? My love to the your wonderful cuties. God bless them real good. We are approaching 31 weeks this saturday and so far everything looks ok apart from back and waist ache as a result of pressure. We are counting on God to lead us through to 36-37weeks as against 35wks I earlier planned. God bless you Dear.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 2:04pm On Dec 10, 2012
@ Abbibyy, its not over till its over. Dont relent since your period hasnt surfaced yet. Keep trusting God. A friend of mine tested negative till about 12weeks. She went for a scan after 8weeks of no flow yet both blood and urine were negative and 2 strong heart beats were seen. I always advise peeps not to give up especially if you"ve not seen AF. All the best. What's up with everyone else on 2ww? We cant wait to celebrate with all of you so dont keep mute now.

@ Ariso, diagnosis of hydrosalpynx can also be detected through laparoscopy and HSG. Although TV scan picks it atimes but not very reliable.

@ Olikili what's up with you and the triplets? Hope you're all good. Pls stop by to say hello once in a while at least just to encourage those of us behind you.

@ Believer how are you and the triplets? Hope they are all kicking wella? Just realized I also followed your posts on the TTC thread. So sorry for the mix up. Hope you're good?
HealthRe: Pregnancy And Baby Bump Pics. by Blendy77(f):
Finally I was able to upload the pics with my phone. This is me at 30wks. Wasn't as big as Pinkdaisy at 16wks cos I was told I have retroverted uterus as in its tilted inwards so didn't really show on time. Now am really heavy and everyone stares at me when ever I decide to take a walk as if am carrying 2 bags of cement tied to my waist. Its embarrassing and fun at the same time as most people even my bosses just let me have my way all the time. Who say pregnancy no good? Lol!!!
HealthRe: Pregnancy And Baby Bump Pics. by Blendy77(f):
I actually posted the pictures last week but can't tell why only the texts showed, maybe others should try posting pictures to see if it will upload. Pictures I posted on other sites are uploading but cant understand if its NL issues cos even a word document I uploaded just to be sure the size was not the issue didnt upload.

Surrogacy is a very good option. Infact I would have embraced it after my 2nd ivf if I had wind of where to get a surrogate in Naija that won't become a pain in the neck later. Secondly, surrogacy is not legalized in Naija and so if either party defaults, it becomes an issue. There's absolutely nothing wrong in surrogacy, its embraced in most western countries and its actually a better option to adoption since its your flesh and blood but you know our Naija mentality. Most women who can afford it will prefer to keep trying IVF and other means for centuries all in the name of wanting everyone to see them with pregnancy bump before bringing a child into this world.
When you talk of experienced and registered surrogate, are you refering to Nigeria or UK? Secondly, would you mind giving us a break down of their price and what it entails for those who might be considering it?
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f):
Believer my full apologies for linking you to 7colours. I was really skeptical about 7colours clinic because the few times I called her advertised numbers (while looking for a center to do my 5th ivf b4 going to Bridge) to make enquiries about the hospital, her response sounded like someone who had somethg to hide as she even refused to mention the name of the MD. Afterwards she insulted Psalm23 on one of her donor egg thread and a lot of NLanders scolded her for what she did and we didn't hear from her for a while except one ivf promo stuff at her clinic b4 Believer came on board this thread . I innocently asked her if its same clinic as 7colours clinic and she never posted again on this thread till this triplet miracle came up. On a good day I wouldn't have based my suspicions on assumptions but then other NLanders noticed it and also voiced their fears via emails I received. But all the same, am sorry if I had a bad impression about u. No harm meant. I just don't want anyone to take advantage of all these ladies who are already depressed and saving so hard to fulfill their heart's desire at an extra cost. Don't mind me jare, I just don't know how to keep quiet over injustice. Na so I go find trouble for ttc thread over prayers and no prayers. It is well o, whether this bellie sef follow be reason why I dey fight for everybody sef, even mata wey no concern me. No vex.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 1:57pm On Nov 28, 2012
Abibyy, dont worry, I can only wish you a big bfp with triplets so you'll understand cos its best experienced than explained. with all the sleepless nights, heart burn, nausea and constipation setting in this last trimester, we can only keep counting down to offloading date.
Am always here, reading everyone's comments and excited at the outpour of 11th hour miracles. keep taking your cyclo religiously, avoid surgery foods and drinks, be less anxious as anxiety doesnt help at all. You will all share your success stories this time around by God's grace. Wishing you all lots and lots of baby dusts.

Slushia, nothing much except eating right, multivitamins like pregnacare conception helps. You can get other vital information from google. Some quarters say eating pineaples and walnuts after transfer helps. Dont know how true it is but I ate too.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 11:52am On Nov 27, 2012
TESE is an acronym for Testicular sp.erm extraction. Its a process where s.perm is extracted from the source to fertilize the eggs. I know they do it at Bridge at no extra cost to the ivf but cant tell of other centers including mine. 2 ladies here on NL delivered healthy babies through this procedure. Its meant specifically for those who don't produce active or motile sper.mies. You can read more online via google. I know Manix and Clomid improves sper.m counts but cant tell if it works in a situation where the count is zero. In all, discuss with your Doc.
National hospital used to be 250k without drugs the last time I wrote them to make enquiries but most of the peeps I know personally who used them didn't return with result. Although I can't use that to grade their success rate cos their personal age and health factors must have contributed to their own failure. You can check National Hospital website and call any of the IVF Doctor's numbers and send them emails and they will gladly respond.
Hydrosalpnx too inhibits implantation in that if there is fluid in your tubes, it harms the embryos thereby inhibiting their growth. This can be overcomed by scans and HSG to detect the state of your tubes and also heavy antibiotics (injectables) to clear it. Talk to your Dr so he will know how to manage you. You can also check hydrosalpnx on google. Avoid things like cough syrup or anything that will thin out mucus in your body cos when this happens, the fluid gathers in your tubes and uterus. That"s from my personal experience.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 10:03am On Nov 27, 2012
Slushia, God would definitely perform a miracle this second time. Did you do TESE with Bridge? I don't know if they perform it in other Nigerian clinics otherwise your best bet would be donor sper.m. But that one is very risky as you can't vouch for our men not using it against you or the child tomorrow especially when they find out later that their count has improved. Have you guys also tried working on the count to see if there's improvement with supplements and drugs?
Yours is not the worse case so far and peeps still got life Babies through TESE so keep praying. Also try to rule out hydrosalpnx with your tubes to increase your chances. Most blocked tubes have issues with the embies implanting due to hydrosalpnx (water in the tubes) so rule that one before proceeding for your 2nd IVF. All the best, I trust God to help you out this time around.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Sued For Proposed N500 Toll On Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge by Blendy77(f): 4:55am On Nov 27, 2012
I live on that axis and was actually looking forward to the completion of the bridge. We knew somehow that the bridge will be towed but N500 is too much on a bridge that was built with tax payers money. They have done well by erecting a bridge to reduce travel time to and from the office but then Lagos State consists of more of average salary earners than the rich. The alternative road to the express has been partially blocked by reasons best known to the state govt and LCC otherwise with an suv one can conveniently pass thro the sand road to VI. I love Fashola for his creativity and innovative mindset but making Lagos a town for only the rich is what I don't like about his government.
The lawyer should concentrate on the reduction of the toll fare rather than making a case on federal and state waterways.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f):
A lot has really been going on here. Getting too big and really tired these days. Congrats to all our sisters who are presently stimming. I wish you 11th hour BFPs. Your struggles shall never be in vain.

Inwagbobio, I must say am really impressed with the good work you're doing. I never knew u were a guy till I read one of ur posts in the family section. God will definitely meet u at the point of ur need. For this moral support u're giving ur wife, we shall all celebrate very soon with u. My regards to ur wife, tell her someone on nairaland is admiring her seriously for having the best amongst Naija men.

Kikelomoje, pls do ur research very well before using any clinic. It is always better to use hospitals with proven track records so ur money does not go in vain. Believer seem to be the only person who has used this clinic on this forum. There is one lady 7colours who has been advertising this clinic in all ivf threads for a while and since Believer posted her testimony here, 7colours seem to have disappeared into thin air. I remebered asking her if its same clinic as the one 7colours has been advertsing and she ignored the questn which really surprised most people as a lot of peeps sent PM concerning it. so my sister, becareful. Do ur reasearch very well about this place before going there. How did ur DH hear about them? Was it a recommendation from a friend or relative who used them? I would have been more comfortable if those who used them can come up and tell us about the place. Even when u google fertility clinics online in Naija, they are not there. Am not here to spoil anyone's business or marketing strategy, am just saying peeps should do their home work well before falling prey to Naija Drs.

Venus, pls pray about it and listen to commendations from peeps who have used some of these clinics and it will guide u in making ur choice. Its still God that gives at the end so with prayers He can still order ur steps to where u will get value for ur money.

Olikili, how are our triplets doing? The gOod Lord will perfect that which He has started. Congratulations my Sister. God has surely put a smile on ur face and by His grace, it will go round all of us IJN, amen!
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 4:01pm On Nov 23, 2012
Olikiliooooooooo, congrats my Sister, so happy for you. God is indeed faithful. I bless the name of the Lord for this wonderful testimony. Thank You Lord for seeing one of us thru. Can't thank you enuogh. Babe congratulations. This is good news oooOo, u need to see me dancing in my office and evryone asking if I've won lottery. This one pass mtn aeroplane lottery was my response o. Our kisses and love to them.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 7:21pm On Nov 21, 2012
Venus I pray this one will come out positive for u IJN. I didn't know they do donor stuff in National hols due to its sensitive nature. God will see you through.

Kike this dream be as e get o! I really don't know how to interprete dreams but this one doesn't look good. You need to pray to counter it. Have you posted it on the ttc thread for possible intepretation? U kno they have lots of peeps who are good in such there. All the best my sister.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 12:11pm On Nov 21, 2012
Olikili kpele, u're almost there. The Lord is ur strenght. Just concentrate on the thought of 3. Babies running helter skelter in ur sitting room helping u to arrange and re-arrange the place. Lol, just be virtulizing them helping u to bath ur fons!!!

Damsell its normal. It might stop before oR few days after ET. Just keep using ur cyclo and talk to ur Doc if it gets worst. Some clinics do give antibiotics after recovery while others give at the beginning of the entire procedure. All the best.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f): 5:58pm On Nov 20, 2012
I think they are good as I wrote about them somewhere on this thread. They are also affordable as a family friend got pregnant with quadruplets with about 600k there this year. All the best. Remember Its God that gives.
HealthRe: 10 Advantages Of Being Pregnant by Blendy77(f): 12:05pm On Nov 19, 2012
Lolz. Really funny. You took ur time to do this research or u're talking from experience? Most of the points are true but not all of them!
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Blendy77(f):
Olikili thanks a bunch. I also did that week 20 abnomality scan and every looks ok. Did u do that glucose tolerance test for diabetics at 26weeks? All the best sha, I also can't wait for xmas to come and go jo so I can count down the remaining weeks. Its because of all this plenty thinking and count down that I don't want that bedrest business o, although God has been good, no stress so far as I still go to work n drive back like 20mins home. Will start my leave from 31-32wks make I no go take chances doing super woman.

@Toronto, it depends on the center u're doing the ivf. Apart from Bridge most centers will gladly transfer more than 2 embies. U shod be ready to spend like 1m. 7colours clinic which Believer used is having a promo for 500k or so. U might want to check her post. That's the cheapest so far. As for meds, it depends on ur response rate as u'll be given 3-5 ampoules of fsh for 10days and busserelin to put ur natural cycle on hold. Drugs shd be same as what is obtainable in canada just diff brands.

Gmum, nobody has really mentioned hope valley since this thread started but I'll want to believe they are good as my Doc Emeka used to work with them before moving to Georges. All the best with your procedure. More bfps with twins and triplets before January 2013 IJN, amen. Receive!!!
