chiommy123: op you are very correct and I stand with you on this one. you know that's the major problem with our young men these days waiting for billions and trillions, own houses, etc before they think of settling down and before this things come they are in their mind 40s or early 50s for some deceiving themselves that its only women that have biological clocks forgetting it affects them too. so make una follow op advice. it is well How many young men between the ages of 22-28 as the Op said can even take care of themselves not to talk of a family. Not everyone is waiting for the millions and billions as you said but is the money coming? |

ClixMaster: Op, you are high ? I know few of my friends that got married by impregnating the girls after our graduation then. Most of them are regretting that action till today. Unless you have enough financial backup or a good source of income, early marriage can only lead to elongated frustration and misery. Spot on. I know a graduate who has a son but because his family can't support everything and no job he's taking 12k job just to feed the child. Having a child ties someone down, makes you settle for less also |

We've heard this a million times but the truth is will you get married and subject your family to poverty? Have you seen the cost of baby food? Diapers? Rent? Food on the table? Health care? So many other things too. I support marrying young but let's call a spade a spade, if you don't have something that can take care of yourself, a woman and 2 kids minimum please don't do it. Even if you might be lucky to have family and friends to assist don't. |

Glowingingrace: Sorry for quoting you, I understand you are not married, I just want to inform you that every child birth is a near death experience. Yes it is wrong for a woman to decide to quit giving birth without agreeing with the husband, it also wrong for a husband who knows that the wife do have complications with pregnancy or that they can not take care of more children economically to insist on having more children. I for one agreed with my hubby before getting married that we are going to have only two kids irrespective of their sex, yes we had two kids (boys). I was OK with them but he was not done and kept complaining of wanting a baby girl. Fortunately for him I took in by chance. Yes I called it by chance because I was nursing my 3months old 2nd child, I was sad and devastated, he said I can take it out if I want. I noted the word 'you' and not we in his statement. I went to a doctor and discussed my chances, he ensured me that I can do it but that its going to be very challenging. I let the pregnancy be by choice. Was it funny? No. Did I suffer? Yes. I breastfeed my baby until he was 10month old and my breast milk dried up. I had my third baby two months after, a baby girl with an emergency CS. I nearly lost my life in the process. I paid a huge price of suffering to keep and birth her, I thank God there was no lost after all. Now tell me, will you say I am selfish if I decide on own never to give birth again if hubby wakes up one morning and want another child? The same man who out of fear refused to sign when they told him that I needed to be taken to theatre immediately for a CS, I was informed and I knew the implication of the delay, I begged the doctor to take me in if he insist on not signing. So when next you see someone saying we are selfish or lazy remember my story and appreciate the fact our circumstances are not the same. Thank you. Read my post again and you will understand we're saying the same thing. I agree with you. I didn't say giving birth is not a near death experience of his own. When my sisters had their kids I saw what they went through. I respect what women like you go through and putting your foot down is the best thing. Carrying a child is 50/50 not to talk of delivery. And please madam we don't want another 'by chance ' |

But you rather prefer wasting your time with another niggur that ain't even half as caring as he is?
Total bullshiit, some girls need their brains to be examined one after the other. It's pointless saying more to the Op. Bros the guy pocket nor weigh. I could see through her story. She's gushing about the boy's character but can't date him. TF! If that guy has a great car, large money in the bank and lives in a breathtaking apartment she won't need Nairaland advice. Reader530: Tnx. good advice That's not a good advice. Don't try it. This life is a pot of beans. Tomorrow you might need this your friend. Talk to him, explain what you're going through. And if he wants to stay tell him he has to help around not with cleaning but with probably feeding himself occasionally. If his hygiene is the problem tell him he has to get more clothes. One never knows tomorrow. You both are adults so act like one. Don't tell him to leave, communication is key bro |
Family › Re: Lady Shares Opinion On Women Not Having Children Against Husband's Wish by Blonchilli(m): 9:07am On Aug 10, 2018 |
Mynd44: Well actually, its her body and she can decide not to have any children sef.
The flip side is that it is his life, he can decide to walk out of the marriage to go have more kids.
These things shouldn't be binary. Childbirth isn't easy and a lot of women after going through one dont want or are scared to have another and they should not be blackmailed into it. But women should also not blackmail men into staying in a marriage where she has refused to have more and he refused.
A better solution is surrogacy. Her eggs, his sperm and someone else (paid or whatever the arrangement is) carries the baby to term. Everyone is happy.
Childbirth does a lot of things to women, a lot of women have to stop their careers, have to give up dreams, have to watch their body go through (sometimes irreversible) change so please do not blame them for not wanting it.
But is it selfish? Of course it is. But is it wrong? No. How many families can afford surrogacy bro? Is it selfish? Yes. Is it wrong? Yes. Marriage is a partnership and both partners should be able to communicate. I'm not yet married but what I've observed is the cause for most divorce is communication. Yes it's her body but if we're using that as an excuse then it's the man's body too if he decides to go bang every girl he meets and litter the streets with his babies. As a couple when it's wise to stop having children is if my wife has a near death experience. I'll prefer to have her than a kid, how are you going to raise a baby? If that happens then you guys can seek other options like adoption or surrogacy if you have the funds |

Ishilove: Lalasticlala, Seun, there has to be regulation on the depiction of corpses. What would the family members think if they are to log on to Nairaland one day and see the corpse of their beloved so boldly displayed without any recourse to their decency and dignity? Even if such rubbish is done on other blogs, Nairaland is not a blog and should set a standard, not stoop to the level of ignorant bloggers who don't know any better.
This is the first page I'm opening in Nairaland today and what do I see? The corpse of a victim of a violent crime. On a Monday morning!
As for you, Lautechgossip, I stopped modding years ago so please stop tagging me in all these kinds of posts!!! Not just Nairaland but also the social media. A bill should be passed on that. Nigeria reporters have no respect for the dead. I visit other blogs and news website outside the country and they never display corpse on their pages. This madness has to stop. |

donstan18: Only a fool will believe that a grown man slapped his girlfriend because of 200 Naira egg, only a fool will believe that, any disciplined fellow will see the cause of the slap.
Just like what the guy above me said, the rich value little things.
BAD ATTITUDE is the worst thing that can happen to any woman in this life, it's ruins opportunities, creates enemies and aswell gives bad impression.
You visited your boyfriend, wanted to fry 4 eggs, he saw it as extravagance, because he doesn't pretend, he called it to your notice to reduce it, the next thing "YOU POURED IT AWAY" Are you mad? Do you know the gravity of the insult? Even a gentleman will be forced to slap you.
I don't support domestic violence, but the lady is very unintelligent, disrespectful and mannerless, if not, she would have obeyed his man, dropped the egg and go buy some for herself outside if truly she wants to consume 4 eggs, but she didn't, possibly because she don't have 200 naira with her, but her fellow mannerless ladies and some asslickers won't see her as a broke lady, but they'll be quick to tag the guy "Broke".
So pathetic! Some of them calling the guy broke don't even have their own house or pay rent or bills for themselves in the first place |

Earthbound: I smoked my first stick of cigarette precisely in SS2 in 2007. Since then, I have tried to quit more times than I can count. Even though I know the health hazards attached, I do it anyway. I tried electric cigarettes but still went back to the conventional tobacco sticks. There are times where I smoked probably more than a pack a day, and there were other times where I rarely smoked a month. I just want to drop this habit permanently.
How can this be achieved? Try replacing the cigarette with a biscuit or something that tastes sour but you enjoy. Maybe chips, crackers, chinchin or short cake/bread biscuit and gum. It should always be in your pocket. Whenever you feel the urge to smoke take a piece and spend time nibbling on it. Take enough time it takes to smoke a stick. Try it, hope it helps |
