4llerbuntu: They are not even qualified to do the thing at all going by the rules. they cannot do 1/10 of all the activities lined up for orietation camp, neither are they useful for any employer they get posted to!Most of them do not go there to participate in Camp activities; they go there to obtain Permits excusing them from participation. |
Great advice. She who has ears, let her hear. |
Ile-Ife:Was Gambo Dan Musa speaking for himself or on behalf of a committee with representation that cuts across all the geopolitical zones? |
Disingenuous prayer. Are you making a mockery of all the victims of plane crashes or what? ![]() |
kunletiwoo: Hmmmm! It's not all about the container but the content that is right inside the container. Most of them have loss focus of their core role and objectives as corruption is now the order of the day in their Camp.As it is in other spheres of the nation's existence. Very shameful indeed, but we should be hopeful. In the meantime, it would be interesting to know what other NLers would do if their kids express the desire to join the Police. Would you threaten him/her with a curse? Would you encourage him, bearing in mind the "current reforms"? Or would you be indifferent? As for me, the fact that i do not want to be seen anywhere around the vicinity of a police station, should be enough to drive away any such thoughts from the minds of my kids. ![]() |
kunletiwoo: Yes bro, The funny thing is you'll see some of them wearing sandals on duty. lolWhat? Are you sure those ones are not armed robbers in stolen/borrowed/rented police uniforms? Seriously though, our Police is in dire need of renewal. It appears the Acting IGP has taken the first steps by dismantling roadblocks and introducing new uniforms, but these are just tiny drops of disinfectant in an ocean of police filth. There is a long way to go before people would start regarding policemen as human beings after all. |
kunletiwoo: If you had joined the force then, you probably might have gone mad by the curses of innocent Nigerians.Thank God for yours too. Wow! Are you saying most of our "olopa" don kolo? |
kunletiwoo: Hell NOVery serious. I remember several years ago when i was in the dungeon of unemployment, i almost joined the Force in desperation. Everyone i knew advised me to drop the idea like hot coal, in order not to earn my share of the huge volume of curses people heaped on policemen daily. |
We know that the Nigeria Police Force is one of the most ridiculed, maligned and feared institutions in this country at the moment. As a responsible parent, what would you do if your child tells you he/she wants to join the Police? |
What role has the PDP, the self-acclaimed |
Orikinla: Only i-d-iots will post innocent NYSC members to the Boko Haram states in Nigeria. And only an ... will bold his post this way! Are we blind? |
It happened to someone! http://www.thepostgame.com/blog/animal-house/201206/motorcyclist-receives-slithery-surprise |
Mbuko91: but why wud u speak ill of God? Aint u a christian?Does he have to post a hundred times before you discern the answer to your question? |
My take on this article is that whoever must have written it is drawing our attention to the existence of another group who may have hijacked the violent agenda of the original BH, in order to satisfy their own evil agenda. Of course, the original BH is fighting a devilish propaganda battle and would not mind "assistance" from other terror groups, even if unsolicited! El-Rufai and Aminu Sarki are not ghosts. It behoves on the security operatives to bring them to justice if they feel the piece has no iota of truth. |
Kudos to the JTF, SSS and the people of Kano. BH's desperation to attack prisons and free the inmates shows that its manpower is seriously depleted. |
dj5naira: Stop the circulation of amstel malta in that zone, because they renew. What on earth are you talking about and how is it related to this post? |
maclatunji: Guy, this thread is enough to answer your questions in my opinion. I cannot attend to each and every question or request.Yes it is. In addition, the web is a huge repository of information on Islam. He should surf it. |
A big thank you to all those who have taken out time to read the long post and offer suggestions. It is my hope that those who are in a position to do something about this ugly situation are actually viewing this thread and putting the suggestions to work. I must say that we Muslims are very conservative. Thus we find it very difficult to criticise our leaders and call them to order. However, in dangerous situations like these, when Islam is being buffeted left, right and centre, i make bold to say that our leaders(both political and spiritual) have failed us. Infact, there seems to be a huge disconnect between them and us. Our political leaders have deviated from the true teachings of Islam. They now engage in, and promote rigging, thuggery, mindless looting, as well as deliberate suppression of human capacity and economic development. The result of these vices is the massive poverty, unemployment, underdevelopment and the attendant insecurity we now have in the north. While our political leaders are in an unholy race to hug the devil, most of our spiritual leaders have refused to call them to order due to greed and the love for filthy lucre. We must start asking serious questions of our leaders. The rot they have been superintending over has now become a cancer. The Sultan of Sokoto, who is the spiritual leader of Muslims in Nigeria, must now dump his diplomatic toga, roll up his sleeves and start putting these people on their toes. He must work with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs(SCIA), Jama'atul Bid'ah wa Iqamatus Sunnah(JIBWIS), the Tijjaniya Movement, and sundry other Islamic bodies, to isolate these terrorists and whoever they may be working for. They must do it now or be prepared to face the wrath of Allah for being complacent while deviants hide under the veil of Islam to unleash mayhem. |
buJu-234:So there is an assurance that you will see the next day when you move south? |
samkoro: All u just did was to pick out some verses which where born out of the violent and turbulent pasts of world history due to the sin of Adam and eve.It was a dark period when salvation did not exist.Man was very much afraid of the destiny of man after death. There was no insight into that life, they were only sure of condemnation by Jehovah. Then Gods annoyance "faded" and he promised to send christ as a messiah to show the Dark world the only way to paradise.Islam is living in that past. Were you shocked that such stuff was in the bible? Quit living in denial. |
TroGunn: There's no confusion. Stop trying to hide under the context crap. There are many genuine Muslims who believe and act based on those texts. You know nothing about Sayyid Qutb and Gamal Abdel Nasir beyond what has been put out by the secular media. And in any case, what percentage of Muslims worldwide is the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt? |
samkoro: You are a moslem but u do not deeply understand what your religion stands for and its role in the coming end of the world prophecy.Your religion is the green flag from the north as prophesied in revelationYou haven't done what i asked of you. It is not enough for you to rush here and quote Qur'anic verses. Each of these verses were not revealed in isolation. Find out about the context from reputable scholars and educate yourself. True Muslims (not brainwashed, illiterate ones) do not understand the Qur'an by simply taking the literal translation of the verses. It takes years of conscientious study. |
samkoro: Listed here are Koranic verses which are the foundation for these beliefs (prejudice).Go back and obtain the context in which these verses were revealed, then come back if you are still confused. |
Jakumo: Thank you for this question. That gentleman observer, on contemplating the shredded terrorist, merely commented in Hausa that if this was what it looked like to be enjoying the company of 72 virgins, then he was glad he only ever got lucky with experienced girls.LIAR! What's this lie of yours meant to achieve? There was a cacophony of voices in the video, but the prominent one simply responded to the dying terrorist's claim that he was doing God's work by asking him repeatedly: "Does doing God's work equate to terrorising people?" |
lukecent: They swore to make dis country ungovernable if GEJ win, so am not suprisedAren't you tired of repeating this...? Who are "THEY"? And if they are culpable, why are they not behind bars? |
amaba: Solution - the country should split. Ojukwu foresaw this and he was labelled a REBEL. This blood thirsty northerners are not happy they are out of power. ONE NIGERIA and a bloody vampire section of the country is busy killing others. GEJ is handicapped and we the southerners should support him.He is handicapped? What are you talking about? Is he not the Commander-in-Chief for God's sake ![]() |
ladylucky: . u hav spoken well however wht would u hav the xtians do?? They can no longer worship or liv in peace in d north. Wht most of us can't understand is why ur leaders n majority of northerners will not condemn or willingly rat out boko haram members it makes us a little suspicious of u lot? If southerners are nt safe anyymore in the north, the north is effectively dividing Nigeria on religous lines. Have u guys thought of how you guys will survive if the south decides to leave with their abuja monthly handouttsYou spoke well initially, then descended into...How was the north surviving before the so-called handouts started? |
Ex Inferis: im refering to the christian bastardization of Isa (AS), that fagg0t they claim is the son of god. that harl0t banging crook they made out of thin air. he who fools them into thinking they can crap all over the place and get away with it simply by drinking his vampiric blood. yeah. that jesus. If you claim to be a Muslim, then you should know that speaking of Jesus (AS) in derogatory terms is totally unislamic. He is a messenger of Allah and must be revered by all Muslims. And for Allah's sake, where did you get all this gutter language from? Subhanallah! You don't respond to a scum by allowing him to drag you into his filth. May Allah forgive us, amin. |

LagosShia: the solution lies in understanding THIS and seeing THIS!!!It is amazing the way in which you talk about 'wahabis' without knowing what the term really refers to. Again, you are trying too hard to paint a very bad picture of sunni Muslims. Do you think non-Muslims care a hoot about the existence of sunni, shi'a, or whatever? No! As far as they are concerned, a Muslim is a Muslim. And remember, on the Day of Reckoning, you will render your account as a Muslim, not sunni or shi'a or sufi or whatever. It is not the intention of this poster to indulge you in your fantasies. I solicited for practical suggestions on what we ordinary Muslims can do to fight terrorism. Let's keep it at that please. |
I have been a sad man since December 2011, when suicide bombers tore apart the church in Madalla and despatched many innocent people to the great beyond. Sad because, with every new terrorist attack, i become shockingly aware that some extremely evil people (whoever they may be working for)are bent on using these terrible incidents to tarnish the integrity of Islam, and make Muslims the receiving end of ridicule and derison. The ultimate objective, i believe, is to ignite a religious war, the end of which everyone knows, will be catastrophic. What can we, as Muslims in our own little ways, do to fight this scourge? Some non-Muslims have advocated reprisal attacks on innocent Muslims. But there are three fundamental flaws with that approach. One, such attacks would have zero effect on the terrorists because they are not Muslims in the true sense of the term. We all know that Islam has no place for such murderous beasts. Two, he who murders an innocent person person on the basis of what a faceless terrorist did to others is himself a murderer and a terrorist. Three, reprisal attacks would unleash a vicious cycle of violence and hatred between Christians and Muslims. What would that achieve? Would we not be playing into the hands of the terrorists and their backers? So what then do we do? Some non-Muslims have also been very critical of us, alleging that we aid and abet terrorism because we do not speak out or act against the terrorists. While i detest the ostrich approach to managing this crisis, let me ask this question: who (in the absence of government protection)would stick out his neck after what happened to Shaykh Jafar Mahmud Adam in 2007? Recall that back then, he was the only Muslim Scholar (as far as i can recall)who openly preached against the activities of boko haram. A very fortright and courageous man, he was gunned down while leading the dawn prayers, by assailants who are yet to be unmasked by the security agencies. But we ordinary folks believe that boko haram killed him in order to shut him up. Besides, they were a very small, identifiable group back then. Now, they have metamorphosed into a deadly underground movement with financial support from within and without. My dear Muslim brothers and sisters, what do we do? My take is that there is little we can do if government is unwilling to unmask the sponsors of this ungodly group. Nevertheless, let's be more vigilant and security-conscious. We should stop taking things for granted: let us report all suspicious activities/persons to the security agencies (anonymously of course!). We should assist our christian brethren to secure their churches because it has become glaring that it is in our own interest to do so. The social media are very powerful tools of communication. Please our Muslim brothers and sisters who can, should get copies of Shaykh Jafar's criticism of the boko haram concept, translate them into English Language and put them on these media for the benefit of both Muslims and non-Muslims. This would go a long way to dispel the idea that boko haram has anything to do with Islam. May Allah put the transgressors to shame, ameen. Other suggestions are very much welcome. |
rhymz: that is the price they have had to pay for not curbing the excesses of the violent Koranic verses. Until muslim leaders speak in unison not the separate cowardly statements they make for political correctness, BokoHaram boys will continue to kill them separately when they give any hint of showing support through statements. Your leaders are afraid of their lives, so what about christians that go to church everyday even with it is clear to them that those nutjobs might throw a bomb in their midst. If ordinary christians can be brave, then your leaders should show more bravery, simple. So the murder of those scholars who were doing their best to bring the misguided sect to order, means absolutely nothing to you And yet, in the same breath, you blab that Muslims are not doing enough against the group? Do you know Late Shaykh Jafar Mahmud Adam at all? A very popular muslim leader and well known antagonist of Boko Haram (who were still in their infancy then). He made it clear to the group that they had gone off the path of the true Islamic faith. What did he get for his efforts? He was brutally murdered while leading the dawn prayers in his mosque in Kano in 2007. Has his killers been brought to book? No. Rather, the PDP went on to enlist the evil group for its political misadventures. In your warped logic, that man was a coward, wasn't he? |

Seriously though, our Police is in dire need of renewal.
