If there is anything still left to learn, send them back to learn once and for all so that they can settle here in Nigeria and replicate same, train more people locally and invest in research and development for newer innovations rather than boosting other people's economy

Even to be a barber you must enrol for barbing professional training which comes with certificate.

Can't nigerians build their roads without the input and assisstance of foreigners? In a country of millions, we depend on foreigners to build roads, find, drill, sell and refine oil, we depend on foreigners to manage our national football team.
This country sucks big time.
This is the reason why racism still exists. If we start solving our own problem, nobody can look down on us. But because we run to them for everything, we have presented ourselves inferior to them. We the rate at which we chunk out Engineers in this country cum all the foreign trained ones, we cannot build our own roads ourselves. Shame.

Mr Saraki, u have stolen over 5 billion naira as a public officer, now u are pointing your finger at someone who is accused of stealing 10 million naira.....

I'm not saying Umar should be left alone, but why not just be bold and defend your almost 5billion naira theft boldly and come for Umar later, or ask others to come for Umar while u stand to defend your own.

Like it or leave it, you should stand to defend yourself . You should! You Must!

Its okay, if anyone says Fashola and Amechi are also thieves, agreed! But if someone life Saraki who has all the power can't dig and bring out details for us to try Fashola and Amechi, is it common me that will be able to fetch the documents, when I can barely get access to a local government to get my own papers like land survey.

If Saraki will help us fetch details to nail others, good for everybody! But while he does that or he is doing that, let him defend himself openly, anything anything! Saraki must defend himself....he must!

Already, Mr. Saraki should hand over fully all affairs of the senate, m not even saying resign, so wen he is found innocent and can resume back....but now, handover and go defend yourself.
Don't worry, God will soon take all my them for a ride.

Politics › Re: Nigeria Economics Loses To Politics As Buhari Takes Naira Stand – Bloomberg by Bluffly: 4:55pm On Apr 21, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:
I don't know who is advising President Buhari but his insistence on not devaluing the Naira to reflect present reality is one decision he would live to regret. The false sense of value we are giving to the naira is not helping anybody neither is political consideration more important than the economy. The suffering we would experience through devalued naira won't be compared to the hopeless situation we are now. in fact, if the country is pragmatic enough, the devalued naira policy would turn to be a blessing.
The problem is that we have never had a government that took things up holistically. To be fair to devalue will encourage easy way out and to not devalue we make us see why we must start the Nigerian thing. Either way, there are advantages and disadvantages as one is short term and the other long term but yet they can both achieve the same objective if we start the Nigerian thing. Take for instance were the Naira is devalued and investors have access to FX and start importing everything, then as it is in the past there won't be the Nigerian thing, vice versa. Actually, it takes all Nigerians to start doing the right thing right from our homes as a permanent situation or else the black nation will continue to be taking for a ride.

Activities that could support this whole FX issue strongly includes us to start asking our leaders serious questions. If it requires to beat-marshall, let us.
Education › Re: No Graduate Of Medical Radiography Is Unemployed, Anywhere On Earth! by Bluffly: 3:10pm On Apr 21, 2016
themall:
No way.
A radiographer allowed to practice by law is unqualified. Anyone in training is not yet qualified to practice and will likely engage in PP. I also mentioned X-Ray Technicians and other people who have worked around radiographers, illegally operating X-Ray machines.

Why would anyone be hoping to practice a profession s/he isn't qualified to practice. IS THAT THE NIGERIAN FACTOR!
Anyway, the word qualified could be relative. Are you qualified once you are a graduate or having gone through some professional trainings or probably registered with a regulatory body
Education › Re: No Graduate Of Medical Radiography Is Unemployed, Anywhere On Earth! by Bluffly: 2:51pm On Apr 21, 2016
themall:
In this world of survival-of-the-fittest, one needs all the information necessary to make the best decision in life. This includes choosing one's education and carrier in life. My reasoning is in terms of how to remain relevant, in a modest way, in securing a professional carrier and maintaining it for life. Take a look at the following questions below:

Is there any profession on earth today, where you CAN NEVER become jobless or irrelevant once you graduate and are qualified?
Is there a profession where you are always in demand anywhere on earth as long as you apply?
Is there a profession where you are instantly give attention at local and foreign embassies around the world once you secure invitation and employment offer?

You may be thinking far and wide about some advanced specialized profession such as experts in the field of Medicine, Surgery, Computer Technology or Science or some Engineering or Nuclear Program Expert. All these may be in demand but trust me, such degrees and expertise are expensive to acquire and the competition is stiff. More importantly, they sometimes loose their jobs with little to fall back on.

Of course Nursing is one profession that has stood the test of time. However there are many standards and there are many nurses making the for nursing jobs unstable and sometimes patronizing.

So what profession do I have in mind? It is medical radiography. I am not a radiographer, but do you know that, THERE IS NO UNEMPLOYED RADIOGRAPHER ON EARTH?! Ok, that may sound too ambitious, but if you see one unemployed qualified radiographer anywhere in the world, then that would be a serious exception, and it would not be due to lack of jobs or job opportunities or other normal reasons.

Radiography is the art and science of imaging of body cells, tissues and organs for the purpose of diagnosis using scientific techniques and tools such ionizing radiation is safe doses. In Nigeria, it is now offered as degree courses in the university for a period of five years.

No Nigerian radiographer is jobless. They are in perpetual demand by several private hospitals who can only engage their services on a part time basis since they often can not pay them full time. That's why many of the experienced and qualified radiographers have gone overseas. In fact its possible that over 60% of radiographers trained between 1989-2009 are likely not living in Nigeria. The rest are in bigger blue chip companies. While few are found TEMPORARILY working at General Hospitals across the country. Those on PP (private practice, a term used by radiographers, sometimes in sarcasm) in private hospitals are newer, younger and student radiographers.

My advice to youths (and older middle aged men, even of up to 50 years) is to consider going back to study radiography if the right opportunity exists.
(To be Continued. Contributions welcomed)
CC: lalasticlala, Carrier and Education Mods, hope this can be shared for all to see on front

You just spoke against your submission. You said "qualified radiographer" meaning there could be an unemployed radiographer who isn't qualified which then means we have radiographers looking for job because they are not qualified.

Politics › Which Way Nigeria "We Paid FG $42bn In Five Years – Shell" by Bluffly(op): 12:11pm On Apr 20, 2016
The Netherlands-based Royal Dutch Shell Plc on Monday said the economic contribution from Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited joint venture partners to the Federal Government was $42bn from 2011 to 2015.

The oil giant said it paid the sum of $4.95bn to the Nigerian government last year as production entitlement, taxes, royalties and fees.

Shell’s ‘Report on Payments to Governments for 2015’ showed that Nigeria received the biggest share of payments from the company out of 24 countries. It was followed by Malaysia, which received $4.41bn; Norway, $4.16bn; Philippines, $2.11bn, and Iraq, $1.36bn.

According to Shell, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation was paid $3.61bn for production entitlement, while the Department of Petroleum Resources was paid $378.5m and $200.6m for royalties and fees, respectively.

It said it paid $717.9m to the Federal Inland Revenue Service as taxes; $291,115 to the Federation Account with the Central Bank of Nigeria as fees; and $46.9m to the Niger Delta Development Commission as fees.

Shell, in its Sustainability Report 2015 released on Monday, said its share of royalties and corporate taxes paid to the Nigerian government in 2015 was $1.1bn (SPDC $0.6bn; and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, $0.5bn).

It said 93 per cent of contracts by Shell Companies in Nigeria were awarded to indigenous companies, with $0.9bn spent on local contracting and procurement.

It put the SPDC JV and SNEPCo contribution to the NDDC in 2015 at $145.1m, while $50.4m was spent directly by the SPDC JV and SNEPCo on social investment projects in the year.

The Chief Financial Officer, Royal Dutch Shell, Simon Henry, said by fulfilling the mandatory disclosures in line with the new United Kingdom legislative requirements, the firm had demonstrated that extraction of natural resources could lead to the opportunity of government revenue, economic growth and social development.

He, however, said the report excluded payments related to refining, natural gas liquefaction or gas-to-liquids activities as these were not in the scope of the UK regulations.

“Revenue transparency provides citizens with an important tool to hold their government representatives accountable and to advance good governance. Shell is committed to transparency as it builds trust,” Henry said.

Shell said the theft of the SPDC JV crude oil on the pipeline network amounted to around 25,000 barrels per day in 2015, adding that the reduction from around 37,000bopd in the previous year was partly due to continued surveillance efforts and implementing anti-theft protection mechanisms on key equipment.

It stated, “Since 2012, the SPDC has removed more than 850 illegal theft points. The number of sabotage-related spills in 2015 declined to 93 compared with 139 in 2014. This decrease was due to divestments in the Niger Delta and increased surveillance and security by the government of Nigeria.

“However, theft and sabotage are still the cause of around 85 per cent of spills from the SPDC JV operations.”
