trustyshoess: wow, I actually agree with everything this woman said. I've had this exact argument with my peers several times. does that mean I'm not a feminist? I don't believe any gender deserves special treatment over the other. she was spot on That was why I wrote that those bandying hateful feminism are in the majority. One of them is on Facebook and has a large following of feminists like her. Once in a while when a man makes a comment that is not even hateful but not just in line with their expectations, they will all become attack dogs. I have had a feminist ask this question: "Are you a feminist?" Any man that says no would immediately be accused of supporting sexism or of being a sexist. A guy came along and said he was not a feminist but that he had tremendous respect for women. You need to see how these feminists began mocking him and calling him all sort of names. I mean, where is the tolerance? Where is the love? Another guy said his father was not a feminist but treated his mother right and they came for that one too. It is all just so sad. |

trustyshoess: Yea I can see your point. But why do people automatically think "anti-men" when feminism is mentioned. I don't think feminism has ever been used in such context It is now used in such context in a certain perspective within feminism. And the sort of people who bandy this sort of acidic perspective seem to be in the majority. Read what this woman said about this perspective within feminism: I am a young woman and I disagree with feminism. It is pretty hypocritical to expect to be treated special because you are a female (such as tighter laws concerning rape or more leniancy if a woman becomes pregnant) yet they get upset when they aren't being treated exactly like a man. The feminists need to realize that women are not better than men . They are EQUAL. You don't see any laws that provide special treatment for men do you? Example: Once I saw a feminist say that abortions should be legal AND be free. I am all for abortion rights, but demanding that it be free because your ass couldn't use the proper birth control before spreading your legs is absured. And before you pull the rape card on me, keep in mind that if you go to the hospital after being raped, they give you medications to prevent pregnancy. I see no reason for free abortions. by DisgracedWoman April 09, 2009 |

FvckShiT: And the underprivileged crétin always fuçkin acting like she right , She's just a fuçkin sore loser . What a dreg She is just a self-conceited girl with low self-esteem. It is not hard to tell. She is not a feminist at all. Feminism is just a cover for her selfishness and low self-esteem. Let me explain: This lady appears to be used to getting her way with people. She appears like a spoilt brat. They want to win all arguments. They would like you only if you have no differing opinions or you are their asslickers. But they would hate you if you appear to rubbish their views, even if it was never your intention. Their complex is attached to their views and when someone comes along to pick holes in their views, they would be faced with their inadequacies. People with inferiority complex do not like the feeling of being inadequate. They will only like people who agree with them in everything they say because these people feed their bloated ego. If you are not one of these people, they will hate you. |

frustratedrat: i'm short-tempered. I probably inherited that trait from my dad. Due to the way my dad handled his affairs, my mum was plunged into penury. Currently living with her. The situations of the past has made her bitter. She complains about everything.
I open the pot to take my meal, she raises her voice, i come back empty-handed, she runs me down as being a leech. I lie flat without touching anything, she comes back complaining of so many things. When she starts, i find myself exchanging words with her.
I feel bad afterwards but the cycle continues once she makes me pesky again. how do i salvage this situation? Sometimes, i'm pushed to the edge that my frustration about her slander and my predicament makes me wanna hit her. Bro, your father's mishandling of his affairs must be what is responsible for your mother's obvious psychological trauma. When she reexperiences the trauma your father caused her, she would suffer poor regulation of emotions which is what is affecting her relationship with you. She needs therapy. If you don't take her to see a therapist, she would continue to witness a painful triggering of the trauma your father caused her and her relationship with you would continue to get worse and worse and unbearable. |

Romance › Re: I Am A Feminist!! by BluntBoy(m): 8:52am On Nov 02, 2017 |
trustyshoess: I know you're here for my head but hear me out first. So in the space on an hour, I have come across two threads relating to feminism. This is not a counter or anything as everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However I can't help but put my 2 cents in. I seriously believe that feminism is highly misunderstood
First things first, let's define feminism; it is the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes. Notice it doesn't say feminism is a drive towards matriarchy? Well that's simple, it's not.
There are many different types of feminism but I won't be discussing all of them as that will take too much time so I urge you to use good old Google! So I think that the kind of feminism that people think of when they hear Feminism is Radical Feminism-: Radical feminism is a movement that believes sexism is so deeply rooted in society that the only cure is to eliminate the concept of gender completely or for females to dominate.
Now that's not the kind of feminism I'm talking about. Another type of Feminism is Liberal Feminism. Liberal feminists strive towards gender equality in all areas of life. Gender equality includes men too!
So why am I a feminist? Or why do I believe in gender equality? No, it's not because I believe that men and women are equal or because I'm against submissiveness or because I want female world domination (although that would be pretty cool) I believe in gender equality for the same reason I believe in racial equality, tribal equality and anything that has to do with fairness in general.
Of course men and women are not equal, physicality being the main difference but they're both humans and both deserve to be treated equally as a result.
Believe me there's soo much more to say, but I don't want to make this too long. Feel free to ask questions, let's see if I can get you to see why feminism isn't all that bad
Give Femism a chance, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. We all should be feminists, we all should be striving towards equality The reason why I don't like feminism is because I am yet to meet a really liberal feminist. All I see everywhere are angry and bitter women claiming to be feminists. I have had the opportunity of engaging many on Facebook and all you get for having a different opinion are insults and anger from every angle. Sometimes, you wonder if their lack of patience or respect for differing opinions is their own idea of liberalism. Or maybe they confuse aggression for assertiveness. And what many of them preach is acidic. You begin to wonder if feminism is another word for misandry. And when it matters most, you don't see them. We didn't hear them when Ese needed them in a fight against Biodun of COZA. Same during the Otobo-Suleman scandal. A man stood by Ese and later married her. A team of male lawyers stood by Otobo while many women sided with Suleman even before hearing some of the deeper stories. Should a woman presidential candidate come out now, the feminist groups we have would all go mute and their members would rather cast their votes for a man rather than their fellow woman like they just enjoy doing. They will do this and still come out to talk about how men are sidelining them. |
Christianity Etc › Re: 65 Biblical Proofs Jesus Did Not Die On The Cross by BluntBoy(m): 8:16am On Nov 02, 2017 |
UmarIbnShittu: 1. Why crucifixion?
Jews wanted him to be killed through crucifixion, so they can prove that Jesus is not a beloved of God, rather the curse of God is on him. Jews could have killed him easily as they were in hundreds of thousands in number and very strong. If killing should have been their desire, they could have done it easily. Just like they paid thirty pieces of silver to one of his disciples, if they would have paid him more, he might have done this service too. But they wanted him to be crucified so they can prove that he is not from God, rather he is an imposter and a fabricator. If he was from God, then God will definitely save him. May be that was the reason that Jesus was so reluctant to suffer on the cross.
2. Who wanted him to be crucified?
Two of Jesus’ disciples commented (in Luke 24:20) as follows:
And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. (Luke 24:20)
They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. And the Governor said what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying Let him be crucified…. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. (Matt 27: 22-25) 3. Crucifixion was demanded by the Jews
When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. (John 19:6)
The Jews answered him (Pilate), We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. (John 19:7)
=============================
4. One incident and many aspects? Romans took it as punishment of sedition. The Jews made it as a punishment of blasphemy. Jesus considers it a killing, when one of his disciples betrayed him. Christians think a sacrifice presented for our salvation. Who is right?
5. Why Jesus was hiding?
That’s why the Jews paid thirty pieces of silver to Judas giving them the necessary information about Jesus.
…Neither go into town, nor tell it to any in the town. (Mark 8: 26)
And he charged them that they should tell no man of him. ((Mark 8: 30) 6. Jesus’ prayers and supplications to be saved from crucifixion:
Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. (John 26: 36)
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. (John 26: 39)
…. He went away again, and prayed the second time and prayed, saying ……and prayed the third time, saying the same words. (John 26:42-44) 7. God always hears his prayers and his prayers were heard
And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I think thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always. (John 11:41-42)
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared. (Hebrews 5:7) 8. An Angel was sent to strengthen Jesus?
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (Luke 22: 43-44) 9. Pilate delays in judgment
Pilate intentionally delayed in giving his verdict and did not deliver his judgment until and unless he was sure that due to the Sabbath, Jesus would be on the cross for only a few hours. Jesus a thirty-three years young person was on the cross for only few (3-6) hours.
10. Pilate’s complete favor to Jesus
Pilate was in complete favor of Jesus, considering him innocent, and for his wife’s dream, was trying to save his life. That’s why Pilate wanted to use his special right to free one person, but the Jews did not let him do it.
Pilate said unto them, whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas or Jesus…. But the chief Priests and the elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. The Governor answered and said unto them, whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said Barabbas. Matt 27: 17-21) 11. Pilate’s wife sees a dream to save Jesus
When he sat down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.” (Matt 27:19) Why was this dream was against the purpose of the advent of Jesus, to give his life on the cross? Her dream should have been that crucify him immediately. Let him finish his work. But her dream was against it. Although her dream was so special that it was mentioned in the Bible.
12. Pilate finds him “Not guilty”
… Pilate … he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person. (Matt 27:24)
==============================
13. Earthquake, eclipse & a storm – A sign of God’s disliking & anger
An earthquake, eclipse of Sun and a Storm, all three occurred just after the crucifixion is a clear sign of God’s anger.
Now from sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. (Matt 27:45)
…the earth did quake, and the rocks rent. (Matt 27: 51) 14. Pilate marveled
And Pilate marveled if he were already dead. (Mark 15: 44) When Pilate was informed about the death of Jesus on the cross, he marveled at hearing it. We know that Pilate was the most experienced person in this field; who may have experienced hundreds of crucifixions in his time. That is why; he knew very it well that a 33 years, unmarried young person shouldn’t die in few hours, while the other two thieves (elder than him) were still alive after the crucifixion.
15. The other two (thieves) next to Jesus were still alive so they broke their legs
Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. (John 19: 32) OK, I will make this very concise. Pilate was in no conspiracy with Jesus or His disciples. He delayed in giving his verdict simply because he was not convinced that Jesus had committed a grievous crime worth a death sentence. Left alone, Pilate would have let Jesus go but he was scared of a Jewish insurrection that might undermine his authority and make Caesar have doubts in his ability to act as governor. The nightmare of every governor, then and now, is insurrection. Insurrections make leaders seem incompetent. Jesus died quickly on the cross because of the physical abuse he had gone through before crucifixion. He had been battered and rigorously drilled and there was not much strength left in Him. |
