Good citizenship and putting this Nation first is an integral parts of ethics. Corruption and other vices are not necessarily the commoner's choice any day.

Cash Consideration for the vulnerable, as you said, is permissible as long as it is appropriately regulated. That should not deter going completely cashless.

Going cashless will ensure accountability and reduce corruption and criminality to the barest minimum.

Once we lay the proper solid foundation, it's only natural that suitable structures will emerge.

Banks will only engage in corrupt practices if the rewards are commensurate. But imagine if there was little or no way to reward corruption.

The cashless policy is familiar in Nigeria. The CBN has gradually come up with a lot of it in recent years. We need to take the bull by the horn.

The opportunity has come once again. Our people need to know the adverse effects of relying too much on cash in this economy. Again broadband penetration is almost 100 percent. If we can depend on BVAS, we can go cashless.

It's not fair to say Nigeria is not ready. We have the necessary infrastructure, and that is broadband availability.

Just stop the delusion.

Nigeria is not ready for a cashless economy.

No adequate power supply, costly fuel, low minimum wage, poor internet infrastructure.

Let me shock you. Even the whole world believes Sweden is not ready. They are however watching to see whether Sweden would be able to pull it through.

Nigerians can't change this country, have you monitored these creatures called Nigerians, there's no such thing as a Nigerian, a Nigerian is just a soul suckling bum, willing to take advantage of another so long they're not of the same tribe and religion, so really how can such a people get this country working.?

The best that can happen to Nigeria is regionalism, give this country a million years it'll be same. So all you people looking for a good candidate don't bother, just vote the lesser evil.

The only fact he spat is Obi can't win, and since Obi can't win that doesn't really make him an opportunist, deluded or fool hardy, but not an opportunist.

What's the opportunity of Peter Obi in this scenario, you need an opportunity to be an opportunist..

The worst you can say about Obi is he didn't use his state resources, since he was Pro saving, but realistically, Anambra people has as much progress and failure as people living in lagos, Abuja or anywhere else in Nigeria..

Obi was a good governor, one of the best, by Nigeria standards.

Obi is an opportunist in the sense that he is using raving emotions of misinformed youths to gain grounds.

Obi himself knows that the the problem of the country is beyond one man. He once compared Nigeria to a car with a broken engine. Suddenly, Obi thinks he is the driver that can move a car with a broken engine.

Obi knows he is not competent enough to change the country.

What we need is a change of constitution. We need a constitution that would back regional federalism.

We understand why our politicians don't want regionalism. They are scared of secession. They are scared that if governors become more powerful than they already are, they can break away from the country like Ojukwu tried to do in 1966.

But what choices do we have?

Our federalism is not working. Our constitution does not reflect true federalism. We need to sit down, and vote on these things.

Kudos Egbon. You know your history. This is why all southerners irrespective of tribe and religion must rally round and vote Obi.

What Obasanjo, Afenifere, Ohaneze-Ndigbo, Middle-belt Elders and Pan-Niger Delta Elders see sitting on the floor, five thousand Tinubu and his blind urchins will never see even if they climb the tallest Iroko tree.

Remain blessed Eriokanmi. History will be fair to you.

There is a personal beef between some Afenifere chieftains and Tinubu. It is not like they saw anything special. These people would vote anything but Tinubu.

As for Obasanjo, his own case is predictable. He never supports fellow Yorubas. He never supported Awolowo, never supported MKO.

As for Ohanaeze, all they needed to do was be patient. APC is a merger between CPC, ACN, some APGA elements, new PDP elements, and some other parties.

CPC have had their chance with Buhari. The rotation was meant to go to the ACN faction (Tinubu), after which the APGA will have their chance. That was why Buhari said Igbos have a better chance of producing a president under APC.

Even if Tinubu and Obi align, it would only make Kwankwaso to merge with Atiku, and what would have would be the North vs South. And that is not always good. Because if the South wins, the North will go haywire, and Northern Christians will suffer most of consequences.

So, no one should align with anyone. Igbos should be wise. APC is a more solid party than LP. If APC loses the presidency, they will still remain relevant as they are sure to win governor and NASS seats. But LP will fizzle out. Even Obi will leave LP after the election.

The APC might become vindictive, and decide to simply zone the next flag to someone from the minority (possibly Yahaya Bello).

Politics is a game.

1. It is achievable with current advancements in technology. Even when you are allowed to have large amounts of cash, you will need to fill out the appropriate forms.

It is not about the technology, but the ethical matter of choice.

Sweden is going totally cashless this year, but I am sure there would be cash consideration for the vulnerable.

So full cashless economy is plain unrealistic for now.

2. I cannot see how the alternative can help either.

The cashless policy is the alternative. Why have an alternative that is not going to address the problem? It is even going to worsen it.

3. I agree with you, but we need to lay a foundation for sustainable economic development bearing in mind the apparent benefits of going cashless, especially in curbing crime and corruption.

Laying a foundation without addressing existing structures would amount to nothing, or even be counterproductive.

For example, we have had of CBN complain about banks sabotaging their efforts. Why not tackle that obviously corruption driven issue first before demonetizing.

Look at Sweden. They say they are finally going cashless in 2023. They didn't start today or yesterday. Years of planning, or setting things in order, went into it. In fact, Sweden has been planning it for the past 20 years. They invested heavily in sensitization so much so that the percentage of people who made cash transactions dropped from 40% to 9% in 10 years (2010-2020).

Do not also forget that when it comes to currency innovation, Sweden tops. In case you don't know, Sweden was also the first country to introduce bank notes. Now, they will also become the first country to do away with them.

Yet, it took them years of planning.

Nigeria should take advantage of this opportunity.

There is no opportunity here. That is the point. Our internet infrastructure is weak. Phone penetration is just as weak. Sensitization is mostly carried out up north. We don't have adequate power supply to support the cashless policy. No fuel or expensive fuel to power our generators.

No, we are not ready.

A completely cashless Nigeria is the only way forward.

A completely cashless economy is not achievable in any country in the world presently.

Secondly, a cashless Nigeria will not reduce inflation nor help the economy all by itself.

A country with a huge trade deficit like Nigeria will not become an economic powerhouse by simply going cashless.

Nigeria still needs to improve its electricity supply, boost production, and have a sane tax system.

Nigerians are like the Isrealites, we want a better Nigeria but a little inconvenience everyone wants to return to Egypt.

You can't go through few weeks inconvenience to rescue the country from vorrupt politicians that want to buy everyone in INEC and voters with stolen billions of Naira

This is not a little inconvenience, and it won't last a few weeks. It will last for years.

Our weakening naira is not caused by one single factor.

You can't improve the naira by merely redesigning it, or making it truly scarce.

There are other things bedeviling our naira. One is the fact that we import nearly all of our goods.

So, even if you redesign the naira and implement a huge cashless economy, nothing will improve until we start producing to meet up with our huge importation so as to drastically reduce or even eliminate out trade deficit.

Our governments are fond of implementing great ideas in a shabby manner.

Take for example, the fuel subsidy removal plan by GEJ. Unemployment was high, poverty was high, and yet you think fuel subsidy removal will work. Fuel subsidy removal is great, but it would make fuel more expensive. It is more of a curse than a blessing for a weak economy, and it would make it even worse.

The same thing with the border closure by Buhari. It was a great plan. But you had not sort the problem of food inflation. That is like planning to throw more people into poverty, which was what eventually happened. Poverty increased.

Our presidents always have good intentions, but poor planning always ruin their intentions and make them look incompetent.

I'm not.

Jonathan sought re-election but most of the SW teamed up against him with an outsider. That of 2011 happened because he succeeded his late principal so the North also elected him.

If Jonathan is going to disagree with me, why didn't he endorse Tinubu when the druggie asked for his support while visiting him in Bayelsa?

Tinubu said GEJ was doing well and I asked, was the Buhari he helped installed doing well when he campaigned for Buhari's re-election?

He was nursing a selfish agenda and wants to ascend the same seat he sabotaged the South from maintaining.

He will fail

The problem with you people is your lack of political sense.

There is nothing like sabotaging here.

The aim of Tinubu was to dethrone PDP, not necessarily GEJ.

CPC had the number in the North thanks to the cult following enjoyed by Buhari, there was ACN, and then splinters of PDP, APGA and one other party. Only such a merger could have removed PDP.

Moreover, GEJ had bleeped up already.
