WHO ARE QUANTITY SURVEYORS?
This little write up is specifically for the benefits of those that doesn't know what Quantity surveyors do.

The Royal Institute of Chartered surveyors (RICS) defines the role of Quantity surveyor as "ensuring that the resources of the Construction industry are utilised to the best advantage of the society by providing financial management for projects and cost consultancy services to the client and designer during whole construction process.

The noble profession "Quantity surveying" is an almagam of Economics, Law, Accountancy, Management, Construction Technology and many more but few to mention.
Many have mixed Quantity surveyors duties with Land Surveyors. It's a different ball game, just that we belong to the same industry. This is what we all need to know so we can direct the right questions to the right professionals.

Whenever it is Construction Cost related issues, always direct your questions to Quantity Surveyors. Also whenever it is Land related issues, do not hesitate to meet Land Surveyors.

Good evening House, please can someone help out with the total cost of building a 16 rooms self-contained bungalow hostel in ekiti state. From foundation to finishing stage, all floors with tiles, borehole, walldrope in rooms. The plot of land that this building will be built on is 60 by 120. I will be glad for an urgent answer. It's for students hostel, there is no special or luxury finishing, just the simple and conservative pattern.

I have been a tenant for the past 4 years at a property and just a month into the 5th year. Before the end of my 4th-year tenancy, I made a deposit of more than half of my annual rent, say 75%. But the property owner is threatening me with notice to quit just the month after the end of my 4th-year tenancy. Note that my 4th-year rent expired in April 2019, the deposit I made is effective from May 2019 and the notice came in yesterday. What do you advise? Do I take my deposit and quit? In the threat notice, it is claimed I am a tenant at will and I have discovered a tenant at will is one who's holding on to a property after the expiration of rent. Given that I made part-payment to renew and it was accepted, is it right for the owner to claim I am a tenant at will??

My interview for tge uk went excellent , i have all the requirements they asked, answered their questions very well, i saw the expression on the faces of the panel, all smiles....one of the prof. Advice me on what to do so she can give me more marks, i went out did it, came back to them, they attended to me again......BUT DESPITE THESE, AM NOT CERTAIN IF I WILL MAKE THE LIST, BECAUSE, I KNOW A LADY LAST YEAR WHO DIDNT TAKE THE APTITUDE TEST OR INTERVIEW , SHE DIDNT APPLY, AND SHE WAS SHORTLISTED , WHEN I ASKED HER, SHE SAID THEY WILL OPEN A PORTAL FOR HER ON INDUCTION DAY.....
CURRENTLY , THERE ARE TWO PERSONS BOASTING OF ALREADY RINSING THIS YEARS OWN.....
