Having gone through your post, it's sad most of what you mentioned up there turns out to be true... The Nigerian system lacks a structure and the medical profession is not left out, it's sad the art of clearking and examining a patient is really dying so patients are at the receiving end.
Unfortunately the average Nigerian doctor is arrogant but then there are some you encounter ... You get better even before taking your meds.
it's not likely to change anytime soon anyway but then we only home the next generation turns out to be better.

A birthday party some years ago.

Not a party like, well, you know music-blaring-from-giant-loudspeakers-with-a-hundred-people-grinding-to-the-melody kind of party but it was a subdued one.

She'd days before chatted me up on WhatsApp to find out my schedule was for the weekdays and since it was midweek, it was a little predictable - busy all day till dusk.

Fast-forward to the day, she called me up by 4.30am to sing me a happy birthday song.

By 5.30pm, she called to find out where I was. I told her I was nearly home and she came to my apartment while I was bathing. She came in with gifts everything you'd need for a small birthday party. She suggested we go out but I was a little exhausted to spend time outside so she begun the 'party' - party for two.

She brought enough to host a birthday get-together of 5 or so but it was just the two of us and it lasted all through the night.

It wasn't necessarily the cost of it all but the gesture - the heart she put into it and the element of surprise; I mean, she's a NIGERIAN GIRL.

What's more, she was a student in her second year in the university then and wasn't exactly from a rich home. She taught English Language and Literature during the weekends and in an Evening School. It was all her money.


She's probably the only girl I have ever and would ever truly love that deeply and I wish her the very best of what life has got to offer. She taught me even with meagre income, with needs of her own which need to be met, there are still a few NIGERIAN GIRLS who are self-reflecting, beautiful, intelligent and self-less with the men they are in relationships with.

She's one of the reasons I never criticize and lump all Nigerian girls as one.

I have been a full member on Naira land since 2013, I decided to use a new moniker to make this because of Identity sake and also because I have been a top voice against online begging on this forum...I am ready to unveil my identity to any willing savior of need be.
It all started last month when I felt feverish for sometime, I went to hospital and was diagnosed of malaria parasite 3+...I started taking medications.On the 3rd day I started feeling this sensation in my stomach, I went for series of test and Ulcer was confirmed.. I started treatment and a week later, I started feeling this heavy headache and breathlessness.And this has been on for the past 3weeks..The problem now is that I don't have money again for treatment... I have called in some relations and friends that have helped me out already, and are feeling that I want to stylishly sh money off them...
Please I am pleading for anybody that will enable me with any amount u can let me return back to the hospital tomorrow and at least complete my treatment, even if it is lending me money.If you stay in Owerri and want to meet me in person b4 helping, I don't mind

Believe me if you impressed, nobody would give you 70k, but more.

For every position, there is an accompanying salary structure. You don't know it but I do.

Giving your salary expectation in range will ensure you don't over price or under price yourself.

Something happened recently, just few weeks, we were recruiting for a position and the guy gave a range above the existing salary structure. He wasn't willing to go down and I don't want to lose him, I had to reschedule with him in order to convince the management to up the salary for that dude.

Again, one babe gave a range of 60 - 75k for a job the salary is 70k, but our Team approved the 70k for her.

A good Recruiter would want to embarrase or intimidate you with his eye contact, don't break it.

If it is me, maintaining that contact and smiling would do the trick. I noticed it lessen the tension and anxiety that comes with that question.
