It's painful to see people's blood and sweat go down in an instant. May God grant the owners strength to lift themselves and learn lessons from this unfortunate chapter. On the other hand I am unhappy that government people waited till the houses were completed before moving in. What were they doing from the point of laying foundation to roofing? What should also happen is that government people should be prosecuted for negligence. There must be an official or officials tasked with the responsible of making sure unapproved developments do not spring up...that person should be prosecuted and sent to jail in my view as a deterrent. Government that cannot provide homes should be wary of destroying same especially zif the infringements are not major. For those who are bringing an ethnic coloration and gloating over this, karma is real and these days working overtime. The pain of recklessness and impunity lies in its going round. Some kogi senator who was rigged out of his primaries will confirm my last paragraph. That was how some gloated over kidnapping of expatriates in Niger delta, today its a national problem. Let's come together to support what is good and condemn what is bad. |
Very sad indeed . My concern is this...."what value does this organisation give to Nigeria every year with the huge budget , maintenance, salaries and overheads?" Most MDAs should be handed to contractors and consultants to run. We are just playing till we restructure the country and re position it for efficiency. The leaking roof would have been a 100,000 naira problem , but they will let it degenerate to a 1billion renovation contract. |
This is a 2015 post and we can see a repeat in 2023...let's unite and be a better people , we will have a better nation. Politics of tribe and religion is a tool by politicians beware and don't allow them to use you. |
Benki003:@Benki003, For starters , calling another persons viéws trash is rude, intolerant, crude and uncultured ...... smacking of poor background and upbringing or lack thereof! ( Has nothing to do with generation or age, just pure uncouth behaviour). "Spewing / Spilling trash"is one annoying phrase that intellectually lazy nematodes that you represent , have abused over the years on this platform and your numbers are growing astronomically.) I think your excuse of being in a hurry or running late, as a justification to dart across the expressway, where there is a pedestrian bridge is reflective of the following; 1 A total failure in societal values and reversal of what is good or bad. Where all values are lost anything will be accepted as OK behaviour and justification will be provided. Same way people like yourself will justify someone stealing because the other man that stole was not prosecuted. See what I mean? That the lady darted across the road and got hit does not give you an insight that no matter the rush , "use the pedestrian bridge" these are lessons from elementary school but ALAS, the entire nation has denied you of that sense of education and even basic animalistic survival traits. A dog will never cross where it sees its fellow dog hit by a car.....human being are not expected to follow blindly.......see my reference to you as nematode...QED 2 Education transcends the ability to read and write and of course education should open the mind to learning but where learning comes by reading , listening and observation. Again, teeming Nigerians bastardised by abject poverty, loss of values in 1 above and sheer impunity fail to read , observe and listen. .....its about the person who is most Loquacious. How much you can shout or abuse or show thuggery. Wits beats brigandage all the time. You see no knowledge or education in the unconsciously lady and the cause and effect of her actions............open your mind and brain to learn! 3 The lack of enforcement of the regulations especially as it relates to use of pedestrian bridges in this case , has given the impression that there are no laws and there are no risks in crossing the expressway. When you do not enforce the laws , the people assume there is no crime. People who dart across the expressway where there is a pedestrian bridge should be arrested and fined, plus where there is an accident they should be made to pay for the vehicle repairs and compensation if they survive. Let's be civil and sane if we want a better nation. 4 I remember the good old days where internet and access to Nairaland were for the middle class, Tramps like yourself will not have the access to come on this platform and announce such backward excuse for crossing the expressway. Thankfully for you data is cheap and now affordable so all nematodes can post what they like. Finally i can confirm from your submission that you HAVE NEVER LEFT THE SHORES OF NIGERIA nor worked or existed in a civil society where law and order prevails. Obviously you do not own a car or you drive only in areas where the pedestrian bridge is seen as part of aesthetic road furniture rather than a means of crossing the expressway. I am certain you dont have the intellectual strength like many to read this submission , however, I pray you get exposure and also get education and able to upgrade your life and living in the days to come Amen. Thanks for your opinion. |
I am so upset that despite a pedestrian bridge being there , the lady decided to cross the road...I hope she survives to learn to use the pedestrian bridge next time. Posting such pictures online is just wicked , selfish and insensitive ...before.you post such pictures , imagine she were your relative. |
Strafudeen:I have no idea how you do your work , I do not have that Information. I won't cast aspersions on people I don't know. Calling him dull in my view is more of abuse than advice to improve. Criticisms can be constructive . Seun Okinbaloye by any fair standards is not dull. I observed him from when he was in NN 24 to channelstv and I think he is not dull. Yes,.... he can be called upon to be more aggressive but again that is subjective. Not everybody has a forceful and loud mein but they can be gentle but extremely effective. Also people like keyamo, dino and oshiomole are uncontrollable and condescending,,they tried to embarrass Seun but ended up looking stpd** |
Armaggedon:One of the greatest issues of cheap internet and talk time is the fact that most comments don't come from a place of facts. Comments should be rich in facts and context. How is channels like NTA? Someone and some people have built such an admirable media house in content, ethics, reach and quality...all you can say is that they are like NTA, have you watched the two channels you are referring to. Well at the end of the day , Nigerians get what we deserve because we are our leaders and they are us. |
Strafudeen:Seun Okinbaloye is an Ace journalist and he has come a very long way ...don't ever term civility and professionalism as being dull. I think he does his home work most times and he is quick on his feet . That he has Control over his emotions and his temper makes him a bigger and better person. I think he is intelligent and I guess you call him dull because he does not employ gutter techniques . The fact that uncouth , shameless and uncivilised politicians misbehave on his program does not mean he is dull. I love the fact that while he remains calm these touts always disgrace themselves on his program. I hate the fact that most other journalists try to speak more than their interviewees. Like most of nigeria we have lost our values and hence because he does not play in the gutters you may want to term him dull. You posting can you sit in the place he is? |
lhordspy:Wow...all you had to say was to attack her personality...........its true we deserve the leaders we get at the end of the day. The problem with impunity is that everyone will get a taste of it including the main perpetrators, its just a matter of time before it goes round. Smart Adeyemi is a direct example of impunity going round. He supported the power grabbing without following preagreed processes, now he is a victim of same. Don't worry , in a matter of small time , you will see Nigeria from Waje's view |
For this to be Balanced ...let's see Jagaban, Buhari and SanwoOlu's own........then we can compare and comment properly |
Honestly if you look at the matter from the angle where the Tinubu generation has enjoyed their own time and future , they have bastardised the future of the GeN Z, they are decimating the future of gen Z and they are strategizing to use the future of Gen Z children , it's not a time to start being nice to them or calling them uncle. At 80 years he has eaten his food , that of his children and queuing up for his grand children's food to eat. In the 80s and 90s leaders were then people in their 30s but unfortunately they still hold on to power from the 80s till this day. You ..you you and you in your 30s should be given a chance not these old people who should stay at the back and offer support and advice |
Sanwo lacks strategy and tact. He is just a totem and stooge he does not have the wit to debate, this is what happens when you make a slave dress and become king. I am not suprised. It has not attracted the attention of APC govt when the pdp guys have been beaten and shot at all over the state, now they have a wild erection because of an unconfirmed video. Let them identify the gun men first before they talk. You cannot take decisions on a video you should investigate. If they find Jandor culpable, he should be investigated and jailed if found guilty. Someone should tell APC and the governor that his / their role is to fish out the people and bring them to book alongside every person who propagates violence. They should stop talking and act . APC is not in opposition , they are in power , they should do their work and not keep talking and running away from debates. Anyone who cannot debate should not bother to use a video as basis to run. We already know who is in charge of lagos. |

Oga Ade, this is an old video ...while I am not doubting the occurrence I think you are trying to create undue fear and anxiety in the face of the recent attacks. |
Government is a joke....even the military tried to break ASUU by prescribing them.and all without success. The current senseless, clueless and inept government cannot break ASUU. if you understand academicians , the union led by an ordinary PhD cannot pull any crowd. Those traitors that are being used will regret it at the end of the day . like the last time, they may have selected lecturers with disciplinary issues and forced them to work against ASUU...time will tell |
First off, anyone who does not live in lagos has no competence to give an informed view of the matter Secondly if you have not been a victim of these mad one way drivers you may not understand the gravity of the crimes. Thirdly as a resident of Lagos , you will know that these traffic offences cause a larger portion of frustrating "HOLD UP" that raises people bp and kills lagosians young. Bad roads is secondary. Bus drivers are the greatest problems to lagos road , they stop anywhere and block the already constricted roads. Forth in Lagos the traffi c offenders cause mayhem on the roads and get away before law abiding citizens. Lagosians deserve a strong hand to make us behave with civility. You cannot cure lawlessness and madness with paper civility. Do you tell a mad keke driver or danfo to "please stay in lane and stop obstructing traffic" Finally , what Lagos state should do is to improve the road infrastructure and furniture aggressively and Use technology to catch offenders. A situation where someone makes a mistake he or she should be turned back and not have those mad dogs called task force jump into cars and cause confusion. A process should be put in place to warn people and only arrest those who insist on breaking the law. A proper independent and technology based appeal, process should also be in place. Otherwise , I support forfeiture of those vehicles ....they should step up the enforcement. Good riddance to bad crazy drivers |
The problem is always with planning and irresponsibility on the part of organisers , they always choose control over convenience ...if you know the number of expected participants why don't you do early distribution and have multiple service points. I am sure the people may have strolled in late , go and eat amala or pray before they start work while the queues will be building. Organisers should use common sense next time and provide early pick up and multiple, service points, its not rocket science |

AIG should stay calm and rest assured that everything is under control , he should go about his normal business. This is the work of opposition, and the rest of the police will get to the root of it. Contrary to sections of the media The AIG was on patrol when a goat fell from the sky. We tha k the Almighty that No one was shot and no life was lost The Inspector General of Police condemns the act in the strongest of terms and has directed the AIG in charge of the region to fish out the killers. Signed |
Lol........heads will roll around and still stay on the neck.... President does not read according to Amechi.....,hence Presido will not read and case closed...best! |
seborrhic:Thank you for even seeing the other side of the story . I am happy that the PRO held his ground......the way educated and uneducated; commercial and private cars a t behind the steering is wild and crazy it deserves a lot of enforcement. A lot more people need to go before the courts to have half sense. Good one PRO. |
Oh no..these people are eternally shameless. For Christ's sake you police men should be serving the public not the public serving your narcissistic arses. That people don't report at the station is a direct message of lack of confidence in your sorry arsenal. Does reporting on twitter mean its not a crime? Rather than denying , why would you lazy arses not investigate and come up with a sensible and true position. What you should do pro is to find away to gather more facts and I formation from the tweets to aid I vestigation, not blind and senseless denials. What a shame |
omenka:Before you go on ...Please also state both sides of the story for whoever is reading your posts . I will like you to comment on the following 1 The Economy of Benue state 100% reliant on agriculture and tourism. The state depends on resources of the land. 2 Since 2015, the security situation went bad with the attacks and the massacres, many villages and farmlands have been ransacked by terrorists and they have taken over a good portion of the remote areas The governor has been screaming about the progressive crippling of his state by the terrorists. They attack , displace the people and take over their villages. Security forces remain under the control of the Federal government , Ortom deployed local vigilante, they were killed and disarmed. With IDPs in Benue reported at 1.5 million humans......lands taken over by terrorists. How would the economy deliver IGR to enable growth and development. The government of benue is the largest employer in the state, I dont know how they have not laid of people. Also , check the allocation coming from the centre drop from 2015 to date due to , low oil price, Covid, Insecurity, looting of government funds and just BAD governance In the current unitary / socialist structure we run , the access and spoils of the rich of the land sits mainly with the centre Government. I am not making excuses for Ortom but stating facts...this is just to put the other side to the story that you have ignored. Though i love and respect the truthfulness and boldness of Orthom, wish all the leaders in this country have been speaking up and confronting issues frontally. To butress the point Ortom made, I am waking up this morning to the news that Terrorists have attacked and freed people from the Kuje Prisons in Abuja. Also Iwake up to hear that Buhari's advance team to Daura was attacked by Ghosts and exchanged gunfire..........Listen , people will die and no one will lose his job . meanwhile People are paid to ensure this does not happen from President to the least officer in the intelligence or security forces. But this same people can track and pin down all contributors to ENDS SARSprotests...something is wrong |
God1000:I agree with you they are wi ked, but we the followers are worse and in circular reference they come from our midst. We are as wicked as our leaders. |
The Politicians have screwed the academia for so long , now the Academia are now screwing the politicians ....... Tink am...you pay somebody 500k at the peak of his career as a professor and ask him to manage a process where you politicians throw dollars around. What do you expect? My own is let young people support a credible and youthful candidate |
CountVersailles:Thank you so much , at least there are few reasonable people on this platform. I agree with you. We are just a complaining bunch. Put the same people in authority they will do worse. The girl should be charged for false alarm and let the law take its course on her ad also the boys who restrained her...the police has done its job let the two parties tell the judge their stories. |
HungerBAD:I hope you can see that Gov Fayose is brilliant and he is a Prophet! |
What Amazes me is the level of hypocrisy in this country . We all pretend like we do not know how our Politicians and we Nigerians are impossible. If teh Owner or officials of the event centre had intervened to stop the distribution , it will have been followed by name dropping and threats, the everyday Nigerian passing and at the event would have blamed anyone who attempts to stop the distribution, he or she may be lynched. Have you ever challenged someone who threw thrash from a moving vehicle?.... and see that most Nigerians will support the fellow. Some of the same people who see no wrong in breaking simple rules will come online and blame the owener of the events centre....Hypocrisy! Governments in Nigeria and the civil servants and useless, why close the centre , why spray their walls with paint?why deface the place. If there is an infringement around the fuel then give a fine but most importantly GO AFTER THE CULPRIT WHO DISTRIBUTED FUEL! ![]() ? WTF! LAgos state is run by charlatans , the person who distributed fuel has a name , go arrest the person and fine her if you have a liver and that will serve as a deterrent. They chase the weak and vulnerable and pat the influential on the back when they do wrong. There is no business owner who will support the actions of the state , its reeking of eye service and just to deceive the public that they are working. LAgos state safety commission should arrest the Commissioner of works for all the open man holes on the road and the Commissioner of transport for the unsafe and rickety busses (Recall they hold private car owners and businesss owners for MOT and expiured livence but no one is watching the danfos for road worthiness or registration not to talk of insurance) Lagos state is just making businesses suffer and making it so hard to do business in the state ....Lazy and useless people |
dfrost:The act setting them up covers crime of this nature. However the more disturbing part is the lack of synergy between government bodies. This is so shameful |
Mastakija:I agree with you to the extent that if a problem child is identified, he or she should not be in boarding house. A problem child should be under the direct supervision of parents. Except they did not know the child was a cultists which is negligent of such parent. Parenting is hard and time consuming. Even the parents of the dead student did not see and act on the signs of bullying. When he was injured , they also acted slowly. Boarding houses can never be like a good home |
Asquare84:Were you sexually molested ? Why are you comparing apples with grapes? Did you pass comprehension ? Do you know the facts of the matter? Are you representing one of the accused here? The woman will gain justice for the evil done to her child and her family , I love her doggedness. Those people should be dragged to the ends of the earth for allowing such evil in the school, on their watch. |
If you get scammed over this one , you have done yourself a disservice , this car is worth x 3 of the advertised price, beware! |
