Ortom has absolutely nothing to brag about when it comes to good governance. Dude has accummulated the most debt in Benue state, raising the state's debt profile by over 300 percent of what was accummulated by his predecessors combined since 1999.

His predecessors built roads, housing estates, teaching hospital, medical college, general hospitals across the state, etc. Suswam left the state with three months owed. When Ortom was campaigning in 2015, he wept in a Catholic church over the suffering of the people for the three months being owed. Today, the same man is owing between 3 to 9 months (tertiary institutions and medical staff alongside some MDAs, 9 months) to workers, while pensioners are owed 72 months!!

When he speaks, those who have no idea what he's doing to his state would be clapping for him, and this is the encouragement he gets to keep doing evil.

While denying the state all that, his private Oracle Business Empire has been growing in leaps and bounds. So much so he even built for himself a polytechnic in the heart of Makurdi township. Wherever he manages to put some asphalt on ground, you need no one to tell you he's purchased acres of lands around the area.

That is who Ortom is- a very strange character rooted in sheer wickedness. No state deserves such a man for a governor.

Before you go on ...Please also state both sides of the story for whoever is reading your posts . I will like you to comment on the following

1 The Economy of Benue state 100% reliant on agriculture and tourism. The state depends on resources of the land.
2 Since 2015, the security situation went bad with the attacks and the massacres, many villages and farmlands have been ransacked by terrorists and they have taken over a good portion of the remote areas

The governor has been screaming about the progressive crippling of his state by the terrorists. They attack , displace the people and take over their villages. Security forces remain under the control of the Federal government , Ortom deployed local vigilante, they were killed and disarmed.

With IDPs in Benue reported at 1.5 million humans......lands taken over by terrorists. How would the economy deliver IGR to enable growth and development. The government of benue is the largest employer in the state, I dont know how they have not laid of people.

Also , check the allocation coming from the centre drop from 2015 to date due to , low oil price, Covid, Insecurity, looting of government funds and just BAD governance

In the current unitary / socialist structure we run , the access and spoils of the rich of the land sits mainly with the centre Government.

I am not making excuses for Ortom but stating facts...this is just to put the other side to the story that you have ignored. Though i love and respect the truthfulness and boldness of Orthom, wish all the leaders in this country have been speaking up and confronting issues frontally.

To butress the point Ortom made, I am waking up this morning to the news that Terrorists have attacked and freed people from the Kuje Prisons in Abuja. Also Iwake up to hear that Buhari's advance team to Daura was attacked by Ghosts and exchanged gunfire..........Listen , people will die and no one will lose his job . meanwhile People are paid to ensure this does not happen from President to the least officer in the intelligence or security forces. But this same people can track and pin down all contributors to ENDS SARSprotests...something is wrong

LAgos state is run by charlatans , the person who distributed fuel has a name , go arrest the person and fine her if you have a liver and that will serve as a deterrent. They chase the weak and vulnerable and pat the influential on the back when they do wrong.
There is no business owner who will support the actions of the state , its reeking of eye service and just to deceive the public that they are working. LAgos state safety commission should arrest the Commissioner of works for all the open man holes on the road and the Commissioner of transport for the unsafe and rickety busses (Recall they hold private car owners and businesss owners for MOT and expiured livence but no one is watching the danfos for road worthiness or registration not to talk of insurance)

Lagos state is just making businesses suffer and making it so hard to do business in the state ....Lazy and useless people

I agree with you to the extent that if a problem child is identified, he or she should not be in boarding house. A problem child should be under the direct supervision of parents. Except they did not know the child was a cultists which is negligent of such parent.

Thank you very much, from what we have all read , it does not appear to be a premeditated murder. The accident could happen to any youngstar though very sad a life is involved. How many of the people saying they should be jailed have not done worse things in youthful exuberance? These boys have been dragged and have been in incarceration for months and will have to deal with the emotional trauma of killing their friend.

I agree that ma y of the BRT drivers drive recklessly and behave as if they are high on drugs, one hit my neighbour and took off almost killing the young couple. Something needs to be done about that.

Jaywalking is a bigger problem that also needs to addressed with action and laws.

I know that portion of road at ikorodu, the driver should not have been going so fast as to kill somebody. It is also obvious the lady did not use the pedestrian overhead crossing built by government and was probably not attentive when she walked Into the path of the bus.....no credible eye witness account but I have a major problem with the driver for fleeing the scene and running away.

If he had stopped to assist the lady she may have survived to tell the truth about her jaywalking or unattentiveness.

One of the skills I acquired in my few years in the Real Estate and Forex business is the ability to identify fake Buyers and Sellers. It's quite unfortunate a Billionaire who had worked so heard to attain that level was treated like a chicken. I sincerely sympathize with the family members and friends thereof.


I fault late Chief Odunukwe for his death for the following reasons;


1) He (a billionaire) advertised the property himself

Late Chief Odunukwe's problem started when he advertised his property himself without doing it through a property agent or firm, probably he wanted to eat alone or wanted a fast sales. Yes, Odunukwe might be a real estate investor but It was not safe for him to sell or advertised his property without his or another property firm or a lawyer. He was supposed to be hidden in the whole process as a billionaire and the owner of the property.

2) He met the buyer without a Lawyer or a property Agent.

Late Odunukwe was supposed to meet the buyer with a Property lawyer or an Agent for a transaction worth #900m but he went alone instead. I believe he was driven by greed where he wanted to eat alone. 10% of #900m would have saved his life. #90m can not buy life.

3) He met the buyer in a Hotel

Late chief was supposed to meet the buyer in a neutral spot where his security is sure. They were supposed to meet in a Bank since the prospect was ready to make payment. Payment of such amount of money from a total stranger was supposed to be in a bank. At this point security is a key word because the love for money is the root of murder.

Conclusion

When God lift you from grass to grace or from grace to grace always remember there is dis before a grace moving around in search for an opportunity to surface.

You risk your life when you are not ready to distribute benefits to people below you. No matter how hard you worked to acquired wealth, don't eat alone.
