Gbemi Saraki

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the younger
sister of Senate president Gbemisola Saraki as Otuoke varsity
council chairman.

President Muhammadu Buhari has named the younger sister of
the Senate President, Gbemisola Saraki, as the Chairman
Governing Council of Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa state,
among other appointees.

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, stated the
inauguration of the councils marked another milestone in
President Buhari government’s effort to turn around the
fortunes of Nigeria’s tertiary education institutions by
appointing credible men and women into their councils.

He said: “ As governing councils, you must be bold, courageous
and responsive in ways that provide the kind of leadership that
supports the growth and development of universities and make
them globally competitive and attractive.

”In doing all these, you must ensure that the universities’
planning and growth are in consonance with all National
Universities Commission(NUC) guidelines, especially, with
regards to the issues of Academic Briefs and the development
of appropriate master plans.

”I would like to remind you that governance and management
are two distinct responsibilities in the university system.
”On the hand, councils will set the policies that define the
direction and then support the managements in their
implementation of the policies.”

He advised the councils to oversee and monitor the effective
entrenchment of the committee system and ensure plurality in
decision-making process.

After his two-term tenure as governor of Kwara state, Bukola
Saraki ran for the office of Senator of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District and
won, succeeding his sister, Gbemisola Saraki-Forowa.

Gbemi, who has been avoiding the public glare for some time
now, is saddled with nurturing the newly established federal
university, along with others members of the council and
institution’s administrators.

Federal University, Otuoke is among the twelve new universities
established by the immediate past regime.

Many Nigerians desire to become first class pilots or masters
of the military forces. There are special schools for that in the
country, that’s why everyone has a chance.
Nigerian armed forces keep developing every year. There is a
great number of personnel in each of the divisions. Moreover,
Nigerian military equipment is very advanced and modern.
They apply various vehicles, aircrafts, artillery, ships, and air
defense. If more and more talented people continue joining the
military, it may once become one of the strongest in the world.
You might become the first Field Marshal of the army in the
history of Nigeria.

Nigeria army has many ranks and symbols. Learn about their history, origin and traditions. Army is essential thing for every country. It fulfills many functions. Nigeria is not an exception. It has strong military. However, few people actually know Nigerian military ranks and their symbols . Such knowledge is necessary to understand the importance of armed forces and their main duties.
https://naij-ask.cdnprof.com/questions/24058-257991-1-800x544.jpg
First, let’s find out what the military is. It denotes armed forces, which are allowed to apply deadly force as well as weapons for support and protection of the interests of a certain state and of all or a part of its citizens. The main task of army is to defend citizens and the country itself and to prosecute against the other states. Depending on country, they can also have additional duties. Speaking about Nigerian military ranks and their symbols, they may differ according to their types. Each of the kind has obligations.

Types of Nigerian forces
The most common division includes the following categories:
Army. These Nigerian Armed Forces include land branch. It means the soldiers carry out missions on the ground. This category possesses the largest quantity of all the types of armed forces. There are also several divisions in Nigeria. Their primary obligations are:
https://naij-ask.cdnprof.com/questions/24058-d37d8d-1.jpg
• base security,
• supplies and troops transportation,
• humanitarian missions,
• enemy targets engaging,
• law enforcement, etc.
Navy. It is a sea branch. Nowadays most of the Naval Headquarters are based in Abuja, Lagos, Calabar, and Bayelsa. They also own operational bases located throughout Nigeria and lots of training facilities, such as dockyards and fleets. Their duties include:

★regional security,
★rescue operations at sea,
★medical support,
★marine cleanups,
★support of ground-based operations,
★training missions at sea, etc.

Air force. It was founded only in 1964. All the necessary technical assistance has come from West Germany. For the first time they dealt mostly with transportation. Nevertheless, later they were trained abroad in Pakistan, Ethiopia, and Canada. The real combat capability appeared only in 1966, after the presentation of MiG-17 aircrafts by the Soviet Union. Nowadays they own plenty of helicopters, trainers, and fighters. Today the main aim for the government is to develop domestic and foreign training and production capabilities. The list of their missions contains the following:

Christianity Etc5 Dangerous Signs Your Pastor Is A Fake by boman2014(op): 10:36am On Mar 04, 2016
The rate at which religion tends to find its way into virtually all
that we do, has become very alarming. However, the issue is
not with the various religions, but with those who believe and
follow these diverse believes.

It is no news that everyone is free to practice whichever
religion suits him or her, but it is sad to note that that freedom
has been abused and to a great extent has become man’s
captivity.

People (especially Africans), tend to always throw away
rationality in their dealings with religion and issues regarding
belief. Some go as far as terming their irrational as “faith”. For
instance, one is sick but because his/her religious leader has
spoken on exercising faith by not using medications, he/she
follows the rule dogmatically and the end result is not
palatable.

The great German philosopher, Immanuel Kant noted that “The
autonomous man, insofar as he is autonomous, is not subject
to the will of another. He may do what another tells him, but
not because he has been told to do it. He is therefore, in the
political sense of the word, free.”

It is in trying to address this issue of freedom and rationality
that this article has been written. For this piece, Christianity
will be the focus and the major reason is because Christianity
is the most populated in the world. Bringing it back home to
Africa, and narrowing it down to Nigeria, statistics show that
Nigeria has the largest Christian population of any country in
Africa, with more than 85 million persons belonging to various
denominations.

Some major examples of rather controversial Christian
practices will be presented, as to help draw the line between
religion and rationality. For all the examples that will be
highlighted below, the basic rule or yardstick of judgement will
be if the practice or act by these preachers, pastors or
prophets follow and biblical principle.

It is only rational that if one says he/she is a Christian, then
the bible is the perfect book by which his/her actions would be
measured. One would find out that most of the examples do
not borrow from the bible, nor follow any rational principle.
Hence the question, “why are many people still deceived?”

1. Pastor makes members eat grass

A certain Pastor Lesego Daniel who is the founder and Head
Pastor at Rabboni Centre Ministries, said that he was basically
trying to prove that humans can be controlled by “the spirit”
and they can eat anything to feed their bodies.
This clearly is a case of debasing humans to the level of
ruminants. And of course some will defend the act by saying
there was a time when a certain king was made to live among
lower animals for about 7-years.

A pastor made his congregation eat grass to prove the potency
of the holy spirit

Then the question becomes how does it relate? In the bible
story, the act was a punishment, but here was a full
congregation being used for a so called “spirit experiment”.
It is still a mystery how the South African pastor got to
convince adult members of his church to resort to eating grass
.
2. Holy ghost foot mats

The same Pastor Daniel made headlines again when in a bid to
deliver members of his congregation, he used them as “holy
ghost foot mats”

Pastor walking on his members during deliverance service

The pastor in question was practically walking on his members
and one would be forced to ask, where in the bible was such a
miracle module presented?

3. Drink petrol-pineapple juice

The thought behind this action is rather simple, Jesus is said
to have turned water into wine, hence this same man of God
thought it wise to turn petrol into pineapple juice .
A viral video showed the clergyman praying for a bottle which
according to him contained petrol, to be turned to pineapple
juice.

He then offered it to his congregants to drink. Some of them
were exclaiming how ‘sweet’ and ‘nice’ it tastes, some said it
tasted like the blood while some others begged for more. The
blood?

4. Human-donkeys and fake messiahs

Controversial Prophet Penuel , was not satisfied with having fed
his followers live snake, asking them to take off their
underwear and eat them ; the man of God called one of his
members simply identified as ‘Thabiso’, he commanded him
“by the power of God” to turn into a horse and according to the
church’s Facebook update, indeed it happened.

[img]http://i.onthe.io/vllkyt1uvcvs2cvbq8.f6ea009b.jpg[/img7]

The man of God was said to have ridden on the horse, a
perfect replica of Christ’s triumphant entry. And again if you
righteous mind has not been totally lost, you what to question
the rationale behind this miracle. Why continue to debase
ourselves all in the name of religion.

Only recently, a church was discovered in Tanzania where the
pastor’s feet must not touch the ground until he finishes his
preaching
. According to a Facebook user who posted it online, the able-
bodied brothers in the church have to carry him on their back
one after the other until the end of the service.

Pastor whose legs does not touch the floor until his sermon is
ended

5. Holy milk and pastors that ask to be sucked

I will give you the holy spirit through ejaculation was the claim
of Valdeci Sobrino Picanto, a Brazilian evangelical pastor. He
was arrested for deceiving his congregation.

Valdeci was arrested after deceiving the faithfuls using the
name of the “Holy Spirit”. He said his penis was blessed and
that “the Lord had consecrated him with divine milk of the
”Holy Spirit” and, of course, he had to release it in order to
“evangelize”.

[flash=500,500]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afxEgc1mEr8[/flash]

One of the victim said: “he has convinced us that only God
could come into our lives through our mouth and that’s why he
would do what he did”. Often, after worship, pastor Valdeci
would take us to where the funds were kept at the back of the
Church and asked us to have MouthAction with him until the Holy
Spirit would come through ejaculation.”

Again one is forced to ask, how does one get to be a victim of
such scam? The act does not follow the bible principles,
neither is it rational. Perhaps, since Mary was conceived of the
holy spirit and gave bath to Jesus, then Valdeci saw an
opportunity and many fell for the sham.

The Christian holy book warns that in the “end time” there will
be so many fake pastors, preachers and prophets. Many of
them will come well prepared to deceive, however, if Christians
can just be rational a bit and think twice before leaping-in-
faith, then perhaps certain issues will not rear-their-ugly
heads.

Experts have said timelessly that religion is not the problem,
but the people who practice these religions are. If Christians
can do more of operating according to what the bible says in
conjunction with what is rational, then they won’t be swayed
by just any wind of doctrine that blows by.

CrimeWhat Lagos Man Caught Wife Doing With Boyfriend In Matrimonial Home by boman2014(op): 10:24am On Mar 03, 2016
– Man wants divorce over wife’s alleged acts of infidelity

– Wife insists that she loves her husband despite the fact that
he beats her

– Couple ordered to attend special programme to salvage
situation

A Lagos-based man, Dara Falana has reportedly told a court
that he caught his wife with her boyfriend in their living room,
eating ‘Tantalizers’ take-away.

The middle-aged man who made this disclosure to an Igando
customary court, stated that his wife, Ganiyat is an infidel and
wants their marriage, blessed with three children, dissolved,
The Nation reports.

“Usually I come home late at night, but on this faithful day I
decided to come home early, only for me to meet her with her
boyfriend eating Tantalizers in our home.

“I was too shocked to say anything; I left them there and went
out but by the time I came back the man had left.

“There was a time I went to Abuja before I came back she got
into a fight and was arrested. I spent the N40, 000 I brought
from Abuja on that case,”
Falana said.

Speaking further on the allegations against his wife, he said:

“my wife starves me of sex whenever I demanded for it.
“I have to beg my wife for sex as if she is still my girlfriend.
She plays all sorts of unimaginable pranks to escape having
sex with me.

“She only comes to me for sex when she feels like and not the
other way round.

“When I complaint to her sister, she told her that I have a
disease that’s why she stopped having sex with me. I’m feed
up, I can’t continue this way.”

Responding to the allegations against her, Ganiyat did not deny
starving her husband of sex, but explained that, “he married
me a virgin, how can I be so bold and bring my supposed
boyfriend to my husband’s house, the supposed boyfriend is
my distance relative.

“I called my distant cousin, and told him I was hungry and that
my children don’t have food to eat when they return from
school. I specifically told him to get food for me and my
children from the eatery.

“My husband’s ways are questionable, he acts and talks
desperately about making money at all cost. He keeps
comparing me to his friend’s wife.

“My husband told me that his friend’s wife is an ogbanje
(witch) and she uses that to bring goodluck to her husband,
that I should be doing same for him, which I refused.

“He beats me up, but in spite of this I still love my husband.”

Adegboyega Omilola, the president of the court, in his ruling,
ordered the couple to attend an Alternative Dispute Resolution
(ADR) on March 17 and adjourned to March 29 for hearing.

1. I have a boyfriend but he is not in this country: This is a common lie Lagos ladies like to tell always. While that may be true, it is mostly going to be a lie if you truly check. Lagos ladies tell the lies to make you back off or for you to know they are connected with a guy abroad in which case it has become a status symbol

2. The lecturer called me but I didn’t go to see him: Well, that is an absolute lie. Lecturers are demi-gods in our universities. When they send for female students, it is always for a reason. She probably wants you to believe she has not had any dealings with a lecturer.

bound together by a common language, history, and culture.
Reports have it that they make up 21% of Nigeria’s population,
making them one of the largest ethnic groups in Africa. The

There are certain misconceptions about this group of people.
You hear things like Yoruba people are fetish, dirty and all

some of the people saying this have never had an encounter

helps those that are from the same tribe with him. To the
average Igbo man, yorubas are tribalistic.

2. They like respect too much. Yorubas are so obsessed with
greeting and you have to bow, prostrate or kneel to do it. You
also have to address the elderly as mummy and daddy when
you’re not even related.

3. They don’t marry outside their tribe. Many Yoruba parents
will not allow their children marry other tribes.

4. Yoruba people all have accent. Most of them have the ‘H’
factor. They say hold man instead of old man, and appy
instead of happy.

5. They are very loud. They talk a lot and always in your face.

6. Yoruba men love women and are heart breakers. I am yet to
see a man from any tribe that does not love women.

7. They don’t travel. Many Yoruba people have not been to
other states of the country. They like to remain in their comfort
zone.

8. Yoruba people are stingy, especially those from Ijebu. It is
common for you to hear people describe anyone who is stingy
as an Ijebu man or woman

9. They are dirty. There is this popular notion that Yoruba
people are very dirty but personal hygiene is on an individual
basis.

10. Yoruba people don’t know how to cook. People say all they
know how to cook is stew, stew, stew and they add a lot of
pepper to food.

11. By their face, you shall know them. Has anyone ever told
you have a Yoruba face? Some say they have a funny face
with plenty tribal marks.

12. Their marriages don’t last. Some say their women are
promiscuous and can’t stay married.

13. They are not bold. They can brag and shout but when it
comes down to fighting, they run away or become cowards.

14. Yoruba people are fetish. Many have this misconception
probably because of what is portrayed in the movies.

15. Yoruba people love parties. Who parties like a Yoruba man

CrimePolice Arrest Five Teenagers Involved In Fetish Sex-trade by boman2014(op): 2:51pm On Mar 01, 2016
– Five female teenagers have been arrested by the Delta state
police command

– The five were arrested alongside a young lady over their
indulgence in a fetish sex trade

– The teenagers have made striking confessions of their
initiation

– Police say investigations are still ongoing as one Alhaji
Hassan is yet to be apprehended

Police in Delta state confirmed on Tuesday, March 1, the arrest
of five female teenagers and a young lady.

The teenagers and the lady were arrested over an alleged
‘fetish’ sex trade with one Alhaji Burkar Hassan.

Mrs Celestina Kalu, police spokesperson in the state confirmed
the arrest of the teenage girls and the unidentified young lady.
Kalu said they confessed they were given N10, 000 each for
the night, adding that there had been suspicion over the illicit
sex business and fears that it could be fetish as the teenage
female sex hawkers were subjected to special spirit bath after
sex bouts.

“The arrest of the girls took place last week following a tip-off
on their activities around Warri Motor Park during nightfall,”
Kalu informed.

Mother of one of the girls, who pleaded anonymity, narrated
how she initiated the arrest when her daughter spent the night
outside.

According to her: “When I saw them, I knew that they must
know about the whereabouts of my daughter who did not pass
the night in my house.

“It was the first time my daughter would sleep out. I decided to
lodge a complaint to the police because we have been hearing
stories about these girls sleeping with one Alhaji for money,”
the victim’s mother noted.
Further investigation revealed that the illicit sex business has
fetish inclination as the teenage girls were reportedly subjected
to all manners to spiritual bath after each sex bout.

Kalu said investigation was on going on the case, as the police
is still trying to apprehend Alhaji Hassan who now is at large.

Meanwhile, the Bayelsa state chapter of the International
Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), and other professionals
in the state, have expressed their outage at the gang rape of
two teenage girls .

According to the lawyers, two teenage girls between the ages
of 15 years old and 16 years old were violently raped to death
by a gang of boys in separate areas of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa
state capital.

Pope Francis

The members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Italy
have organised a peaceful protest in St. Peter’s square to meet
Pope Francis on February 28, Sunday.

For the first time in history a major world leader Pope Frances
greeted the pro-Biafran protesters.

He said: “I am greeting the believers from Gdansk, indigenous
people of Biafra, students from Zaragoza, Huelva, Córdoba and
Zafra, the young people of Formentera and the believers from
Jaén.”

Biafrans have organized protests in many countries across the
world but never such prominent officials address the issue of
Biafra.

The Catholic Church is the largest Christian church in the
world.

“Biafrans vowed to continue to protest peacefully anywhere
possible and anywhere necessary until people and world
leaders will follow the good example of Pope Francis to open
up their lips to acknowledge Biafra,” the activists said.

Biafrans announced that they will be stepping out in next few
days for another European protest, this time in London.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has always
claimed that Nigeria’s unity is a priority for the country.
He said that while peaceful protests are welcome, calling for
the independence of the Biafran territories is against the
constitution.

The declaration of the independent Republic of Biafra in 1967
sparked a civil war that resulted in the death of millions and
the re-annexation of the republic to Nigeria in 1970.
The leader of the IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested by the
Nigeria secret police since in October 2015. His continued
detention caused a spate in protests.

Pro-Biafrans hold regular marches across south-eastern
Nigeria demanding independence and the release of their
leader.

PoliticsAbba Moro Heads To Kuje Prisons by boman2014(op): 11:02am On Feb 29, 2016

Abba Moro in court today

– Nigeria’s former minister of the interior, Comrade Abba Moro, will join some other prominent Nigerians in Kuje prison today, February 29
– Moro was detained by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, February 22
– The ex-minister was re-invited by the EFCC recently over the N650 million immigration recruitment scandal in which some job seekers lost their lives A former minister of the interior, Comrade Abba Moro and other accused people in the 2014 Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment scam is to be remanded in Kuje prison custody.

At the court sitting today, February 29, the three accused, having listened to all the charges against them pleaded not guilty. After taking their pleas, the prosecuting counsel, Aliyu Yusuf, asked the court to fix a date for trial. He also asked that the accused be remanded in prison custody.

The counsel to the defendants informed the court that applications for bail had been filed. However, the prosecution said they were served late on Friday and they would need time to reply to the applications. Chris Uche, lawyer to the second defendant, said his client, Anastasia Daniel-Nwobia, is a nursing mother and already on administrative bail by the EFCC.

He also said the law mandated that the prosecution serve the defendant with proof of evidence seven days before arraignment to respond and apply for bail. Making a special case for the second defendants, Uche applied that administrative bail granted to Daniel-Nwobia by the EFCC be extended by the court.

On hearing the application without an objection from the prosecution, the judge Anwuli Chikere granted the nursing mother bail. “The administrative bail granted to the second defendant is to continue under the same condition while the first and third defendants be remanded in prison custody,” Chikere said.

She also adjourned the matter to Thursday, March 3 for hearing on the application. The former minister of interior and all his fellow accused pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge filed against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Moro alongside three others – a deputy director in the ministry, Anastasia Daniel-Nwobia; F. O Alayebami; one Mahmood Ahmadu(who is at large) – are accused of contracting a botched recruitment job to Drexel Tech Nigeria Limited, an Drexel unregistered company, the EFCC claimed. The commission also alleged that the company had no legal rights to conduct such a contract especially without an advert contrary to 40, 42 and 43 of the Public Procurement Act, No. 65 of 2007 and punishable under section 58 of the same act.

The charges, an 11-count charge by the EFCC, include obtaining money by false pretences, procurement fraud and money laundering. These charges follow a botched immigration recruitment operation that led the deaths of 20 job seekers in Nigeria on March 15, 2014.

The defendants are said to have obtained by false pretences the sum of N676,675,000 from job seekers who paid N1,000 each to take part in the Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment exercise. One of the charges read:

“One of the accused Mahmood Ahmadu (who is at large) in connivance with Drexel Tech Nigeria Ltd, lavished the total of N423,800,000.00(Four Hundred and Twenty Three Million, Eight Hundred Thousand naira) part of the N676,675,000 (Six Hundred and Seventy Six Million, Six Hundred and Seventy Five Thousand Naira) gotten from the applicants on the following: the sum N202, 500, 000( Two Hundred and Two Million Five Hundred Thousand naira ) in purchase of a property in a choice area of the Federal Capital territory, N120, 100,000 (One Hundred and twenty Million One hundred Thousand Naira ) used in upgrading a property in Abuja, while the total of N101, 200, 000( One Hundred and One Million Two Hundred thousand Naira) was converted to United states dollars for personal use.”

Meanwhile, reports last week in the media suggested that the fugitive businessman, Mahmood Ahmadu, who is on the run over the 2014 sham immigration recruitment, has shut down three of his companies located in the United Kingdom (UK).
