The standard bible tell d story "we shuldnt tink of d divine nature as gold, silva or an image..." the last time a checked no one said d divine nature was like gold or any image! Infact no one attempts to capture divine nature in xtian art! Please again learn to interprete!

What did John mean by "word"?

Todaynatoday: The word obviously stands for the Son of God. But I am amazed at the extent some people would go to defend something that is not true. Now let us look at the verse you posted.

Look at the underlined word leading to the next sentence. How can I be with someone and still be that same person. When the bible says that Jesus is God, it is not implying that Jesus is Yahweh. Even Jesus called men gods so why can He also not be referred to as a God?

John 1:1-3 -- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made".

John 1:14 -- "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

John 6:62 -- "Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending TO WHERE HE WAS BEFORE?"

Prov 8:30 -- "Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence"

Matthew 22:41-46 -- "While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

And the popularity of a belief is no proof of it's correctness, otherwise you would believe the vastly more popular Trinity.
