Christianity Etc › Re: Contemplation Seeds From Eckankar by Boss13: 6:19am On Oct 31, 2013
Benodic, I had a strange dream this morning. In the dream, I was with my secondary school friends or the environment seems to be like my secondary school (I have left secondary for almost 14 years now). I can't really remember much of the dream but I remember a close secondary school friend telling me if I want to see God I should do something or come (I can't remember). What I can remember was that I was flying upwards like towards the sky and I was facing the sun (though I was scared I might be burnt) I felt the orange light on my face and then a sweet angelic song "all hail jehovah" I can't remember the lyrics of the song but it quite close to that. It was a sweet feeling and I came down to earth.

Wow I woke up pretty shaken but not afraid. Can you explain?

4llerbuntu: weird.

you should have asked him na.

you left the person who is your friend and who has something u want to know about live in front of you to come and be asking us who probably dont have any idea of what you are saying?

undecided undecided
My friend doesn't have a big dish. He uses the 90cm plus a strong decoder to watch free dstv channels including HD. He just hinted it to me. One of the disadvantage is that he has to wait especially for the HD channels to come up and the channels can go off at any time.

He also directed me to nairaland for more info. I am really interested in the sky channels especially the HD channels

Politics › Re: Lekki Toll Road Buy Back.......my Thoughts...by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro by Boss13: 11:27am On Oct 29, 2013
The article is on Punch newspaper today, though to be completed tomorrow. The silence about this is amazing. Are people scared to talk? Well I remember how civilized people who came to protest were flogged by military police and tortured with pepper spray.

The more I see those toll gates, the angrier I get.

For those clamoring for front page, please there are kids, illiterates and tribalists out there, who might turn this important discussion to an e-war. Hence, I would advise against front page.

This is a partnership between Optima and bloomberg. Bloomberg didn't just wake up and decided that it was coming to Nigeria. Optima went and sign the agreement with them.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Sky Digital In Nigeria by Boss13: 1:04am On Oct 29, 2013
Is this still possible? I am currently in my friend's house and he is watching dstv channels (HD) for free. He also told me with a big dish I can get sky channels for free.

I want to know how possible.

@PointB the fraud was conceptualise from beginning of the project. Have you observed the slow rate of work by LCC. For one year they have not left a particular spot. True, the government should have revoked the agreement for failure to deliver. An interesting thing is that the state government is even willing to pay the debt of a company (like who does that?) and also retain them as toll collectors. If LASG is taking over, the fair thing to do is to stop the tolling because public funds will be invested to complete the road.

Honestly, this project is unfair and we need people to voice their disagreement over this. For me I am not going to vote APC because I just don't get the idea of using my money to provide social infrastructure and still tax me for to enjoy these infrastructures.

Now APC claims to be a political party with conscience. However, I do not see any here.

Start from 4 seasons ago and you would see that most of the goals conceded by united are from Evra's wing. Again, he is a poor crosser of the ball. He needs to learn how to beat his player. That is a reason Moyes wanted to buy Baines.

PointB: ^^^^
The same reason I put the blame on the PDP and other opposition elements in the state. What have they done to hold Fashola accountable? What have they done to educate the citizens on the massive sleaze going on in Lagos state. Seems to me that even the opposition are clueless as to what need to be done, let alone how it could be done to bring Fashola to account.

And here is Obanikoro sounding largely academical, rather than coming down to the level of the ordinary lagosians. If he is convinced that Fashola is a thief, beating about the bush as he is currently doing, is not the way to go about it. Call a spade a spade!
True I do not like his approach. It is just too objective and open ended. Though it is beautiful piece of article, allowing you to form your own opinion and once you are through reading your mouth is wide open. Maybe, he doesn't want criticism, maybe he is shying away from the normal norm of oppositions always fighting the ruling party.

However, he should be more direct by calling the perpetrators the names they truly deserve. That's the only way an average Nigerian will understand.

Like I previously said when the news first broke, this is the smoothest and most intelligent public fraud of all time, master minded by the two arms of govt in lagos state (executive and legislature). I got tired because many people are not making noise about this.

My fear is that if people don't scream, we may start to pay for public service even after we pay taxes.

Adding all these, plus the monies the Concessionaires have collected since 2011 as Tolls, shld begin to give d fuller extent of d amount involved in this Fraud!!!.... Oh! Shiit: I also forgot to add d #35bn d Concessionaires said they already spent on the largely unfinished road. Adding everything will lead to a total of bw #170- #180bn spent on a 49km Road. I feel SICK in the stomach right now...
You forgot to include the interest the state govt will pay for the bond.

True Stella has done some good works. However, she has committed a fraud and must pay for it. You cannot blame the wind or air when you are the actually person that initiated the fraud. Of course she has enemies but why play into their hands or allow negative opportunity grab you.

I think GEJ should avoid her because he has set up a committee to investigate the matter. The president should be bothered till the outcome is laid before him.

This result is a huge relief. Moyes should start looking for talent now. Januazj is good talent. I wonder why Moyes doesn't use Zaha, the guy is good too. At least better than nani. Evra is a problem and should be replaced by January. Honestly, Rooney is a problem in this team, he is a midfield player and not a striker, so he is eating up space. I know it's hard but I think kagawa should be given the play maker role and another top class striker should be brought in to partner with RVP. Another top left winger should be brought in too.

Rooney should be sold if he won't play mid field. I know he scores but his success is suppressing RVP who is a more talented player. Moreover, rooney is not consistent and all RVP needs is a quality pass and the opposing goal post will hear it.

For defence Jones, Smalling and Evans should never play for united, they are mediocre players who can only shine with a shrewd manager like Sir Alex.

It was a huge mistake trying to go for fabregas. That guy is arsenal to the core.

This united team lack belief. A mediocre set of player without leadership. Either Sir Alex returns or this January a complete set of top class players are purchased. Else this united team will be a laughing stock.

I wonder why nani was handled a 5 year contract and why cleverly still plays in that team even evra.

Another distraction from Stella oduah's case. I knew something like this would come out so that we can move to the new thing. Then it gives them time to bury the stella's case and take it out from front page news.

Nigerians have moved on to another hot tizzling news. Please Stella needs to face the consequences, then we can come back to this.

carujmonella: Living under a landlord depends on two thing

On whether he's good or bad

Good landlord can help fertilize a healthy relationship between you and him. Some landlords are so good that when one wants to relocate, he feels like crying knowing he may never meet his type again

But some(if not many) are devils in human flesh. They'll so frustrate you, you'll wish for death. Some nag a lot. Sending you letters three months before your rent expires.

Anytime they see you they'll be like "gbenga, I hope say you know say your rent dey expire next three months. Get my money ready. I no wan hear story or else I go evacuate you". They will keep singing the crap into your ears that you'll get frustrated. Some are heartless, won't even give you some weeks to pay before serving a quit notice.. Landlords can be worse than devil sometimes

Anyway, my dad is a landlord... So I've truly never felt the direct negative impact of being a tenant. All my experiences are based on what I see/saw. The years of living in hostels wasn't exactly cruel either cool
Well get ready, you ain't going to stay in your father's house forever
Properties › Re: Bitter Experience Living With Landlords by Boss13: 1:50pm On Oct 25, 2013
Some landlord can be really wicked. I have made up my mind not to stay in a premises where the landlord is, even if the place is heaven.

Same thing is applicable to me. My tenant will not live in the same house with me.

https://b-i.forbesimg.com/anthonykosner/files/2013/10/ipad-air-preview.jpg

Apple trotted out its fifth-generation iPad today in San Francisco at the company's annual unveiling event. This model, which is now called the iPad Air, is "thinner, lighter, and more powerful than ever before," Apple's Phil Schiller said.

In this model, the 9.7-inch tablet with Retina Display weighs just a pound (down from 1.9 in the fourth-generation iPad. It weighs an extremely thin 7.5 millimeters, down from 9.4mm -- that's a 20 percent slimmer build, if you're keeping count. The bezel is also much narrower, too; 43 percent so, in fact.

A new A7 chip inside makes it 8 times faster than before. For reference, this is the same 64-bit chip populating the iPhone 5S, and also comes with its M7 motion co-processor. M7 promises graphics that render at twice the rate as the previous iPad.

Graphics-wise, that means that this iPad Air is 72 times faster than the original iPad in GPU performance. In terms of Wi-Fi, there's MIMO wireless technology onboard, but the Air is using 802.11n standard, not the the more current 'ac' Wi-Fi designation.

Analysis of video

Picture quality - very nice

Creativity - wack. One of the wackest video of the year. Trying to copy LMFAO

Moe Musa will not understand the hype that the video should boost. He doesn't live in Naija so I will not blame him. I will blame davido and his management team who failed to communicate properly to Moe Musa so that he can deliver.

Skelewu is expected to drive a trend, create a dance movement or a trendy culture. Even davido didn't appreciate how big he could have turned his poor lyrical song into. Sesan tried to incorporate this trend in the first video, though not perfect, it was better than this (foreigners trying to teach us our stuff).

Even davido should have gone to learn the dance moves properly so he could lead the pack. He expressed so much laziness on this video together with his white friends (shey dem don collect their money).

White people can't teach you your dance move.

Politics › Re: Jonathan Under-pressure To Sack Stella Oduah by Boss13: 12:32pm On Oct 20, 2013
At this point, I am afraid to say FFK is right. We have a woman who is more interested in material things like cars, makeup and clothes than serving the public.

I think she should be sacked out rightly without any fair hearing (I know it's harsh) but if this woman is given a fair hearing all we would get to hear is how fair she is on TV.

Our media houses should be ashamed on themselves. There are some many other rot on-going in public ministries. These media houses should go and investigate and stop all this "dem say, dem say - phone switch off kind of news". I have to applaud Sahara reporters, even though many claim they spread lies, at least their investigative arm is functioning.

Politics › Re: Jonathan Under-pressure To Sack Stella Oduah by Boss13: 9:16am On Oct 20, 2013
Newspaper and media houses are busy hammering on this issue. If saharareporters had not investigated, we would be blind to the rot on-going in the aviation industry.

This matter concerns all Nigerians and should not be taken slightly. Now we can understand why planes take off and immediately drop from the sky and why airplane tyres explodes while flying.

It would be an insult to all Nigerians if this woman is not removed from office (either sack or resignation). Nobody is after her, other than her crimes.
Nairaland General › Re: Will Lagos Roads Ever Be Agbero Free Again? by Boss13: 8:54am On Oct 20, 2013
When Fashola declared that he would transform Lagos to a mega city, I could not hide my joy because my belief was that these area boys will be chased off the street. However, this is not the case. The number of area boys has increased exponentially, the menace they create on a daily basis is absurd and the ever working governor has turned blind and deaf towards eradicating these nuisance off our streets.

Now I begin to wonder, what kind of mega city is the governor trying to create - one with potential criminals on the roads? What are the economic and social benefits in having miscreants on our roads? Why is Fashola not doing anything about it and does he intend to blame the FG for area boys?

These boys have no business with our roads. If their aim is to collect levies, there are a thousand and one ways to get these levies.
