Politics › Re: Rebecca Aikhomu And Her Children Kidnapped In Edo by Boss13: 11:41pm On Oct 19, 2013
aluta2: Private security expert and Chairman of Transworld Security, Lagos,  Ona Ekhomu, was shot and his wife, Victoria abducted on Thursday by suspected kidnappers at Ekpoma, Edo state.

It was gathered that the attack happened in front of  Ambrose Alli University on their way to their home town, Irua near Ekpoma, Edo state.

It was also learnt that the driver who was conveying the Ekhomu’s family died in the attack.

A friend of the Ekhomus, told Saturday Sun, said Dr Ekhomu was shot in the hand and was receiving treatment.

A man who had the power to become the head of state which would have allowed him to negotiate his freedom but he chose to relinquish power and ended up in prison.

This a powerful movie blockbuster. Where is nollywood?

A man out of youthful exuberance created a war that would have been averted and inflicted pain on a particular ethnicity group. He would be remembered for strengthening tribalism and northern oligarchy in Nigeria.

I wonder what BBC’s Alex Preston intends to achieve from his junk journalism and write up. I read the article and noticed obviously the lies imprinted in it. Does he intend to keep his european readers in the dark? The write up is biased and truly unfair. I searched for the comment box to explode but could not find such. I see the propaganda this british press are up again.
Yoruba people are sore losers . Sometimes it is best to ignore them. Their pettiness and tribalism does not have part 2
can we stop this and get serious here. Stop the bigotry and face the truth. I will never support stup!dity. Yes she has the right to protect herself if she feels threatened. However, why buy 2 bullet proof cars? Also, this money was borrowed from a bank. How will the interest be paid? Tomorrow we hear that FAAN is not functioning because they have debt to pay and this debt was generated by a minister who feels she she must ride on 2 bullet proof cars for her to feel safe.

Yes It is. Those people do not have the resources to sue the state government. However, it is a good move. People should learn to respect the constitutional right of other people.

True she needs to be protected if she feels her life is being threatened. However, the general public is not happy with the purchase of 2 bullet proof cars. One is okay and there are cheaper bullet proof cars. A Lexus customised bullet proof car is N46Million.

I just don't understand it. I truly don't get it. What is going to happen to the cars when she leaves office? Please lets get serious here.

If you watch CNN on other satelite like nilesat you only see zenith ,UBA and Glo on programmes targeted at africa
Exactly.

Music/Radio › Re: Davido Not Satisfied With Skelewu Video, Reshooting It as Fans complains by Boss13: 7:51am On Oct 17, 2013
Well there is something wrong about the video. It lacked content. Where they trying to promote a new dance - if so, then it didn't turn out well.

Davido's approach towards the release isn't nice. He is setting himself up for reputation risk. He probably should have done a remix and another music video for the remix. That way he makes twice the money and still do something to appeal to his fans.

Waiting for the new video for comparison.
Romance › Re: Can A Nigerian Guy Ever Serenade His Lover? by Boss13: 10:39am On Oct 16, 2013
Streets that are being protected by local vigilantes, dogs and aboki; you want to go and serenade or sing @ night forming romantic. It is even the father of the Babe that would shoot you with the impression that you are a mad man.

Imagine the things we want to copy from white people (Mtshweee). Why can't the foreigners serenade here too. Because the environment is not conducive.
Nairaland General › Re: Men Ignore Ladies When Shaking Hands - Why? by Boss13: 7:26pm On Oct 15, 2013
Some ladies do not understand that it's wrong for a man to stretch his hands before her except in corporate environment where everyone is considered the same. It's called etiquette.

The lady should show readiness to accept but in our case u find a lady starring @ you in the eyes and other times her hands behind her back or holding a heavy duty hand bag.

Education › Re: ASUU Holds Street Rallies In Onitsha And Awka. by Boss13: 9:33am On Oct 15, 2013
Both parties must come to the negotiating table and renegotiate further. From what I understand with the little information being disseminated, the amount is on a huge side and the Federal government supporting state universities does not seem ideal from govt expenditure point of view. We keep on assuming that our economy is making so much money and on that assumption a lot of people are pressing demands. ASUU should please note that the demand for oil is on a downward slide. They should also ask state governors, they have not been given allocation for a while. Okonjo Iweala cannot come out to state publicly that our govt is broke because it would kill public confidence and investors will run away.

If ASUU truly mean well for the state of education in this country. They should come back to the negotiating table and renegotiate. However, this time they must sit on the neck of govt for whatever agreement that comes out of the negotiation.

Meanwhile, I wonder why both parties have failed to explain thoroughly to the public what the real issues are.

FFK is taking this matter personal. Though the woman appears incompetent with the way she speaks in public. If I were GEJ I would sack her not because of the air disaster but because she cannot manage public opinion.
Celebrities › Re: Fashola To Pay Pa Kasumu's Medical Bill by Boss13: 11:13am On Oct 14, 2013
There is nothing good about this. It is our right to get adequate health care and not at the discretion or mercy of a president or governor. A public officer who is expected to provide health care cannot turn around and pay medical bills for a celebrity. He should be proud enough to tell the celeb to visit any of the state's hospitals for treatment.

Someone should start calling for the resignation of the commissioner for health in Lagos.

This baby should stop talking. What comparison do you intend to use. You cannot compare Lagos to any city in this country. Lagos should start comparing itself with world class cities in the world. Lagos is home to the most enlightened people in the country. Lagos is the most diverse state in the country. Lagos is the economic power engine of the country and generates the highest revenue. You cannot compare apple with oranges. A city with an income higher than a country's budget. I cannot even compare Lagos with Abuja.

Fashola should better stop the charade of snapping pictures and posting them on the Internet and start working and delivering on the promises he made. I want to benefit from the taxes I pay.
Celebrities › Re: Fashola To Pay Pa Kasumu's Medical Bill by Boss13: 9:40am On Oct 14, 2013
A sympathizer would come around and scream progress. Fashola is a public servant and not a philanthropist. His job is to ensure that health care service is available, affordable and the service is world class. If Dangote was involved in this, I would thank him for his gesture.

The governor does not even trust the public health care that he has made available. His aides, friends and Godfather travel abroad to get themselves sorted out.

The fraud this people play with our mandate.

babyosisi: He should make healthcare reachable, efficient and affordable
Not picking up the bill of one man and having his town criers broadcast it the whole media for cheap applause
In the same time we are reading this thousands have perished for lack of care in the same locale
Tinubu went to the USA for knee surgery, remember ?
Good for this one man,how about the other millions?
I am neither fooled nor impressed by all these publicity stunts from these rogues
Nansense!
This is exactly what our politicians do. They never get to do the right thing but cut corners all the time. Later on they pick up some meaningless and less regard projects then appoint some loud mouthed sympathizers to scream joyfully.

I'm just getting sick of the nonsense. They should do the right thing and stop the charade.
Politics › Re: Fashola At Microsoft International HQ For Collaboration In ICT. PICS by Boss13: 9:32pm On Oct 13, 2013
I observed a child recreating my comment and making fun of himself.

What's annoying is how public figure are on a propaganda mission and they get applauded for it.

Now let's get things clear, Lagos is not on the same cadre with any city in the country. Abuja is still growing, though it is the fastest growing city in the country. Lagos is a state with the most enlightened Nigerians and there are certain standards and expectations Lagos residents should expect rather than cheap propagandas.

We have a governor who is yet to provide water in the state. A governor who is yet to get rid of social miscreants from the street. A governor yet to clean up the dirt from the streets. A governor who is yet to be transparent about the tax revenue he makes from its residents. A governor who is yet to provide adequate transport system. A governor that provides social infrastructure and charges it's residents for it.

We cannot continue to promote and support mediocrity. Fashola's told us he wants to transform lagos to a mega city. We are yet to see the transformation. Lagos is a diverse city and should be a pace setter. For 14 years what remarkable change can this city boast of. The Lagos of the 80's is better than the Lagos of 2013.

A governor goes to the US, takes pictures with white men and we call that progress. Have people lost their sense of reasoning or just want to praise a governor for praising sake. However, I must congratulate fashola's publicist - they are doing a good job because they know how to push out nonsense and beautify it to the public.
