Politics › Re: We Don’t Have Water, Yet Lagos Govt Waters Flowers –residents by Boss13: 2:33pm On Nov 17, 2013
It is only on newspaper that I get to see Fashola working. In real life, the status quo of no development still remains intact.

No water, NURTW thugs, traffic congestion, poor sanitation, bad roads etc.
Politics › Re: Jega Admits Officer Incharge of Indemili North Messed-up The Arrangement by Boss13: 2:05pm On Nov 17, 2013
fkaz: That is the question who are the representative? Inec should come out and give the names and parties of those who took the decision for the election to be held on sunday? I think APC is right to boycott today election.
We continue to hide criminals in this country and yet pretend to the world that we are eradicating crime. Imagine Jega not been able to say the name of an electoral offender (his own staff). I think the media should investigate and get his name.

chukwudi44: Bros I am not in support of PDP but don't agree with you that Tony nwoye is poor in communication!! Are you sure you really watched the interview?
Yup the programme just ended and the studio will re-open by 4pm. That is my own opinion. Tony Nwoye is not fluent, there were so many poorly pronounced words and I am not talking of his accent but how he pronounced certain words. He seems confident but not a fluent speaker and remember if he wins, this is a man that would represent Anambra globally.
Politics › Re: Jega Admits Officer Incharge of Indemili North Messed-up The Arrangement by Boss13: 1:41pm On Nov 17, 2013
If Jega can publicly admit that a particular electoral officer colluded with politicians to deliberately withhold electoral materials, I think he should cancel the elections.
Politics › Re: Jega Admits Officer Incharge of Indemili North Messed-up The Arrangement by Boss13: 1:27pm On Nov 17, 2013
Tony Nwoye ranting on AIT and claiming there was electoral fraud in Anambra. He admitted that the Jega is a good man but has lost control of INEC.

IMO Tony Nwoye is poor in communication. Can't Anambra produce prolific candidates?
Politics › Re: Jega Admits Officer Incharge of Indemili North Messed-up The Arrangement by Boss13: 1:10pm On Nov 17, 2013
Jega LIVE on AIT. He admitted that Idemili North is the only place where election is yet to take place as a result of a deliberate attempt by the electoral resident officer to collude with politicians. The officer has been handed over to the police for prosecution.

Politics › Re: Lagos Needs $50bn For Infrastructure Development- Fashola by Boss13: 12:23pm On Nov 17, 2013
I just wonder what mega city fashola intends to transform lagos into? I saw a documentary yesterday on BBC Knowledge and I noticed that Mumbai India has a lot of resemblance to Lagos.

Overcrowded, traffic congestion, street hawking and begging, noise and air pollution, poor sanitation, homeless people, poor house planning, bad roads etc.

A mega city doesn't not have these issues. Fashola must bend down and work thoroughly and stop media propagandas.

kmariko: We have heard it a million times; Africans ( meaning sub-saharan ) are lazy, unintelligent, stagnant, insular, ugly, no culture, stupid, apes, monkeys and all the names you can imagine.,., But the question I ask everytime is WHY THE HELL CANT YOU LEAVE US ALONE.,.,

You came to us we did not come to you, - yet you can't stand us.,.,
Yes you have told us that you are superior in every way, - we agree with you - yet you have to kill, maim and divide us to force it on us. why do you need to kill, enslave me to prove your superiority - Do you have a complex that we are unaware.
Yes I have a low IQ but please leave me the hell alone to develop at my own pace... If you dont like my presence on earth there are a billion planetary bodies out there you can call home with your superior technology.
Please we are very Happy here on our corner of the planetary body called earth... JUST BACK OFF AND LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE
Wow I must confess I like your post. Europeans are yet to apologize to Africa for the economic deprivation and human exploitation they caused our beloved continent. If the African continent was allowed to grow without the force political amalgations placed on us by the Europeans. I don't think we would experience the backwardness they themselves can only explain. Asia is a testimony. So they have no reason to judge us or criticize us but to let us grow at our own pace. A 100 years of exploitation is enough to kill off an entire continent. The poverty of Africa is created by the Europeans. Why can't they just leave us alone.

ba7man: We're saying the same thing. What's different??

They can adopt and modify your invention till it turns into something else.

We need to start showing signs of this in Africa.
Don't say WE, say YOU need to start showing signs. Because many Africans are developing things now and I don't fall for this IQ bull*shit. All a gimmick to make the European feel superior. That is what they did to their Africa-American society. We all have the same brain.
TV/Movies › Re: How Much Does DSTV Nigeria Make Monthly? by Boss13: 11:31am On Nov 17, 2013
From the comments I read here I think we are being harsh on Multichoice. We want foreign investors to come into the country yet we get angry when we assume they are making so much money.

Multichoice came into this country in 1990 or 1991 by first launching a cable terrestrial network before going digital with satellite (DSTV). Please note that no business is established to make losses (except some Indian companies which I find ridiculous).

My surprise is that Multichoice has continue to remain a private company in Nigeria but has gone public in South Africa. Same thing with MTN and as a result of this, the general public cannot estimate accurately the revenue generated by these companies.

For a company that has been in this country for over 20 years, I think it is unacceptable for them not to be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Now to answer the question, Multichoice is making money and if they are not, they would have closed shop since. Even with all the political instability from 1990 till date, they continue to operate.

haibe: for this naija wen people dey steal money buy armoured vehicle na him you dey call 11k jailing? who go jail you sef, shey the same people wen dey chop our money?
Please I cannot do it and won't do it. Moreover, I have good credit line with Multichoice because of my payment history. They reconnect me whenever I forget to pay and call me to let me know. So why engage in a dubious act if you can afford it. It is better not to pay at all than get a strong decoder and hook up illegally. I told my friend, shaking my head while telling him. He is a medical doctor why should he engage in Alaba business stuff.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: DSTV Opens All Channels For Free For A Week by Boss13: 7:56pm On Nov 14, 2013
lovat: 156k to watch TV, I don't even have time to sit down and watch movie for 1hr. But there are other means of watching DSTv for just only 25k with sim card and even d labour cost of installation is added to it
Guy it is not the sitting down to watch. It is the general wow effect you have on your visitors when they come to your place and your Smart HD TV is showing bright coloured SKY Channels. Plus the stations they never get to see only when they travel for vacations. Guy go rest no be for Lagos. Plus you swapping your fingers for the next station to come up.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: DSTV Opens All Channels For Free For A Week by Boss13: 6:10pm On Nov 14, 2013
edey2real: Dstv have always been free for the wise ones in this country.
I will never pay monthly subscription for repeated programs.
Actually my friend watches DSTV for free with his strong decoder and HD channels too. He was the one who informed me about the SKY HD stations. The guy never pays for subscription. Me I don't want that, I don't want to violate any regulations and end up damaging my reputation. So I told him I will keep paying for my DSTV subscription. Can't go to jail because of N11,000.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: DSTV Opens All Channels For Free For A Week by Boss13: 5:34pm On Nov 14, 2013
gratiaeo: What's the installation cost
N156,000 (He did not include Labour). Well It is a one-off cost.

Mr Aboki: 1000 Channels!!!

How many be english Channels?! huh
I will be seeing a live demonstration this saturday. would come back and inform the house. Apart from sports, I get tired with DSTV, the movies are on auto repeat and you have to wait 7 months before they are allowed to show a new movie by then Boko Haram boys don finish to watch the movie for their desert zone. Oh I also forgot to mention the constant 11,000 I pay per month. While with this Sky HD stations, I get to pay N15,000 for 7 months but you need a 4 meter dish (thats a disadvantage for those who don't have space).

To answer your question - I guess I would count them all to know which are English. However, the installer said it is Sky UK, cos there is also SKY Germany and SKY Italia.
Satellite TV Technology › Re: DSTV Opens All Channels For Free For A Week by Boss13: 4:40pm On Nov 14, 2013
I am in contact with someone who can install SKY dish so that I can watch sky stations. Though the installation and set up cost is quite expensive, the running cost isn't compared to DSTV and there are over a 1,000 stations to watch from. Plus, seeing new movies quicker than DSTV viewers and on HD too.
Nairaland General › Re: Is LAGOS Bearable For An Average Man Nowadays? by Boss13: 8:13pm On Nov 13, 2013
One thing I like about Fashola is that he knows how to win the crowd. His humility is a selling point. That besides, Lagos is still a chaotic place to live in. People are yet to comply with the policies being issued. We now pay for public services. The guy is just too smart.

Why would someone be so bold to tell us a bed story his mom told him in order for him to sleep.

OP obviously you must be childish. Your basis of assessment is movies. You certainly belong to the set of people who think America is heaven because of the beautiful places they allow you to see.

Please FYI it is a movie and everything in a movie is actually staged. I will advise you quit watching Telemundo, Kardarshians and the rest before you make a poor man miserable.

The OAP sounds like Chaz B. Well I wonder why our ladies behave the way they do. The trend is now disturbing. These ladies never focus on how to make the relationship a better one but on what material things to take out of the relationship. Please can our mothers truly advise our sisters that sex is not a commodity and is expected to be enjoyed by two people. Can they add value into the lives of these girls.

Well done to them. Other newspapers should follow suit.
Politics › Re: Clara Chime Packs-out Of Enugu Govt House, Opens Up by Boss13: 9:52am On Nov 12, 2013
There are too many stories circulating over this issue. I know we are still yet to know what actually transpired in Chime's household. If Chime slept with his sister-in-law, of course his wife should be depressed and mentally unstable. Perhaps, he is hiding her from the press so that they story would not leak out.

In the west, this woman can easily be a millionaire and a celeb by selling her story to tabloids. I hope she does likewise cos we are hungry for the news.
