The only change I know before it wasnt possible to do this in the UK, you had to leave but with Covid UKVI are accepting applications to be done in the UK

A friend came to the UK on a Tier 4 visa in September and was randomly applying for some permanent roles to test the water and see how employable he is. Now he’s got a company that has the ability to sponsor him on a T2.
Is it possible to switch visa completely before the 3 months to the end of course rule? If he’s able to combine work and school, can he continue with the masters program while working full time on the Tier 2 visa?

Mr Bourne, can I use this link to get the actual dates of my 3 refusals. I can’t remember the months, but I surely remember the years. 2008, 2012 & 2013. OR do I just fill any month and use the summary box to explain that I have lost my refusal letter hence the reason why I can’t remember the actual months.

I am the applicant, my dependant who happened to be my spouse applied for UK visa in the year 2010. She applied through and agent. The agent claimed the visa was not granted and her passport was stamped UK2010.
The issue now is she wasn't interviewed neither was her biometrics taken. We are considering the whole thing was a scam as she left everything to the agent.
Now the issue is at the point when she is asked if she had been refused a visa what should we fill there as she isn't sure of the application status.
Any advise of thought from the gurus in the house will go along way. We are due to apply January 11.

Merry Christmas my people. Has anybody switched from a dependent visa to a student visa? I’d like to confirm the requirements. On the .gov site, it says if you’ve been here for up to 12 months, the proof of maintenance won’t be required. Has anybody gone through this route and can you confirm the process and requirements? Startup visa you can work while doing setting up your business.

Unfortunately most companies do not understand the immigration rules including Tier 2. Added to that is the extra cost to the company, so many stay away. I think there was a time the rule was changed such that you could not switch in country or maybe it was a proposal.
Anyone on post study should endeavour to move to another type of visa as soon as they can since that visa will not count towards ILR unless ivia the 10 yr route.

Not sure this is automatic.
Infact many employers run away from sponsorship.
And not all organizations can sponsor...they have to be registered sponsors...
So it will be helpful to have that at the back of your mind.

You no longer have to go back to your country for the cooling off period as used to...I think it's been stopped.
Brexit is helping relax some things...

You would get a job offer before your program is over and then switch to Tier2 by the end of your studies (Typically September - The company will sponsor you for tier 2) and you'd still have a few months left on your Tier 2.I think they introduced a system whereby you'd have to leave the country and apply before returning but I believe that has stopped now but I may be wrong.
Note not all companies sponsor or are willing to sponsor due to the process and cost involved.

She is already on tier 4 but I think I understand what you’re advising her; that she can now depend on her partner, who was once dependent on her. Nice plan but I don’t know how easy that would be or how feasible, so I’ll mute.

As for the “extension”, these are given when you do master’s and are an excellent student, or when you apply for a PhD but they force you to do a master’s first or if you’re doing a master’s and your dissertation is helping the professor with their research— so you get extended to phd, rather than starting afresh with admission, references and statement of purpose letters.

The above is why her admission is dependent on the professor’s health.

School said they can’t proceed with the admission as the supervisor is down with the virus at the moment. So they are putting everything on hold until he recovers. It’s PhD. So, they are not even saying anything about issuing CAS. But I will try this again today.

Your school shukd be able to give you a letter to enable you open a bank account. NI, as I gave heard comes with the BRP so no worries there. Again the letter from your school should be okay for the GP but if not, still no need to worry. If you are sick, you will be treated. The expiry of the Vignette should not be a problem since the Home Office themselves are the ones responsible for the delay.
In summary, no need to worry. Face your studies and you will get your BRP soon. Just periodically check with your school or Home Office.

To sidetrack to another form of investment oo, which is my Child , Its time to fill in application for reception school for next sept. When filling the local authority application, how important is the write up on why one is choosing the school? It is not a compulsory question so just wondering if this will affect ones application if not well written.

Also, must one write a detailed one for each school (total of 5)? Abeg help a sister oo, all this school processes still confusing.

P.S its feels so surreal I moved here with a 10months and now talking about school application, testimony write up loading

Trust we are all doing well and keeping safe in the current climate (i.e Covid-19). It is going to be Christmas soon, hopefully it brings much needed joy and laughter to our homes.

A quick query, is it ok to use downloaded utility bills (i.e. SSE, BT, Anglian water) or do they all have to be posted to the house for it to be used for the application? Bearing in mind that the online bills are exactly the same as what you receive in the mail.

Need to be sure, please.
