LOL

If the UK govt hasn't made it mandatory, BA ideally shouldn't ask + most ppl who flew directly said no test required.

All you need is to quarantine for 14 days gal smiley

Just grin

Zoey1:
1. No
2. Even if you had a COVID Test in Nigeria , YOU MUST STILL SELF ISOLATE..... Failure to do so is just £5000 or £10000

Delay can be down to anything. Maybe short staffed due to covid. I think you should ignore what the rep has said and also apply to other universities as well.

If you meet this requirement for example, I see no reason why you wouldn't gain an admission for a masters program.
https://www.bradford.ac.uk/international/country/benin/

I remember someone on this forum who studied in Benin Republic as well (if you read a few pages back). She was concerned about her Benin degree but got a masters program and probably now in the UK.

One of the school representative in Nigeria. I applied to Hertfordshire university though i have already submitted my form for master's program to the school since 2weeks now no respond so l try contact one of the school representative in Nigeria and she said most Benin republic schools are regarded as diploma. The school will most likely not give me an offer and she suggested i should do a bsc top up in business administration which is a year program before i can apply for master's..

Pls am going for bsc top up since bachelor degree in benin republic is consider as diploma so i can't apply for masters with it ..

I want to ask if i will be eligible for the post study permit after my 1yr bachelor degree to up before going for master's?

I will advise you stick with the 2 yrs duration with internship. It might be hard to get (especially with the current pandemic) but it's not impossible. I know few students who got. At most, you can volunteer and not get paid if you are keen on gaining UK experience.

Note that Any registered company can hire your services for internship.

And if you at the end do not get an internship, you will need to notify your university and they can turn your 2 yr course to 1.

As for the money market fund, I doubt you can.

All the best

yejistiker:
Good day people,

I recently got an offer to study M.Sc Finance at Bournemouth University and I would like clarification on certain things.

1) Can I use my money market fund account as proof of funds?

2) I opted for the 2yrs duration with internship but some people are advising that I change to 1yr without internship because internships are hard to come by. How true is this please?

Also, is anyone currently studying in Bournemouth University or resuming there Jan 2021?

I look forward to your useful advise.

Thank you

mdeeokoye:
Good evening All, pls what’s the best/recommended bank for a student/ dependant. Preferably a bank without much kyc documentation. NatWest is requesting for proof of address ie Bank statement or Utility Bill or Tax. I am staying in an Airbnb and can not provide that.

Please I really need an urgent help. I just got to UK as a student. I want to pay for house rent but I don't have pounds. I have money in my Nigerian bank account. Could anyone help me in how I can use it to pay for the rent here in UK. I have my Nigeria master card.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 9:32pm On Oct 18, 2020
LOL that was my first thought as well..

For the NHS test, you go through https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

There's walk in or drive through to select from. Result was 24 hours for me sent by email and text. Some ppl I know took 48 hours so depends on centre.

Aphrodite007:
Wait are you pitying the UK govt after paying twice for health insurance (NI tax + IHS)? Lol Saint Chris; twale!
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m):
You asked for a good clinic na so as to do private test. They are all the same as they all send kits to you.

Google lists them all (as long as they are in the UK) for you to select which you prefer.

I used NHS. You don't have to if you find it risky

chrisj2:
Travelling to Nigeria with an NHS covid test is risky - it might end with a lot of headaches at the airport. Moreover, the UK FCO advice against using NHS test. It should be a private PCR test.

Thanks for the info, however, you were not that specific about whether you travelled to nja without headaches. I can Google things but this forum is better that Google when we get Adobe from people with experiences rather that bland info online.

Anyone travelled recently?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 10:21am On Oct 18, 2020
If you Google 'Covid-19 test private', you will see a bunch of them Lloyds Pharmacy, Qured etc. They will all send kits anyways.

I however used NHS all free with details sent by email and SMS.

chrisj2:
Has anyone done a private (non-NHS) covid test for travelling to Nja in Manchester recently? I need advice on a good clinic and the turnaround time for the test results?

Alternatively, can anyone help with the process of travelling to nja; it just seems a nightmare getting the test, booking flights and then another test and returning to the UK.

Any info will be much appreciated. Ta

I used to use WorldRemit (freaking expensive) until I found out that I can actually do it from my naija bank account. If you have one, just check if the feature is available.

ifegy:
Question- is WorldRemit a good way of sending airtime for a person’s phone to Nigeria? Or is there a more recommended way of doing so? Thanks.

I think this clause is not applicable anymore as it's been withdrawn.

Passport
Mortgage statement/tenancy contract or council tax bill
Marriage certificate

I stated i was sponsoring her trip and i think it helped that i sent to her account the flight fare to show commitment from my end.
Also do not mention In your letter that reason for inviting her is for child care because that’s a no-no.

All the best

Possibly .. can't say

If you get denied again, just wait for you BRP and try again. If you are student and need an account urgently, get a letter from your uni to open an account from one of the old fashioned (traditional) banks

This new visa is a big change compared to the tier 4 visa. Part timers can apply, dependants can switch in-country, no proof of financial requirements after 12 months etc.

@justwise.. Looks like a new thread needs to be created.

PtBlank:
Its official, student visa replaces Tier 4. Thankfully, IHS is still £300/year and maintenance is still £1015/£1265. I hope both fees remain so.
