In fairness, it wasn't long (apart from the days PDF file wasn't received so had to compress). Might be different with the current situation

justwise:
Well regarding NRN i have not updated that account with my UK details, so basically its not NRN account, so it may be a long process.

Thanks for the head-up anyway.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 9:03pm On Sep 29, 2020
Fill the PDF link below and send to the email address on the form. There's the option to select Token and Mastercard. Once complete and processed, courier cost deducted from your account.

https://www.gtbank.com/uploads/download-forms/NRN-Account-Colectibles-Courier-Delivery.pdf

If your account isn't NRN, you might need to feel another form (account update). If I recall, I also did a video call to verify my identity. They are usually quite quick I just only had to chase cos them no receive my form. When I sent to the nrn email, I had to compress file like 5 times cos they no receive the original lol.

justwise:
Interesting..do you know the process of requesting for it?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 8:30pm On Sep 29, 2020
GTB can DHL token and a new card to you if you request for it .. .

justwise:
I have being using pin for yrs to pay with no problem but after i changed my phone and tried to use the app i was asked to create a token or pin..as if that was not bad enough..my card has expired and i can't use it as part of set-up process.

You are exempted If you have lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months.

I would be applying from Germany, do I need it too?

Tier 2 Dependants are able to work without restrictions

Ace2013:
Hello people, one quick question please. Can someone a tier 2 dependent Visa start a small business in UK ( agribusiness ) instead of working for any employer and possibly eligible for start up loan?

Nothing to worry about. They may or may not call. If I recall, there was an applicant on the last thread in the same situation and got his visa. They will definitely call if you application isn't straightforward.

All the best

It's not a must to have a degree before a company can sponsor you on a tier 2 visa with a valid certificate of sponsorship.

You just need to write an test to proof your knowledge of English.

Olalekank:
I’d like to ask if someone without a degree (or yet to graduate) can be awarded a tier 2 visa.

For example: a job where you do not need to have a degree (say like a Software Engineer job).

Couldn’t really find anything comprehensive after searching Google

Has the person gotten admission?

As it 'currently' stands due to the pandemic, one can switch from Tier 4 dependant to another visa (usually this is not the case)

STENON:
Goodmorning to everyone. Please what is the right option to choose for a tier 4 dependant that want to switch to Tier 4 General student visa within the UK.

Is it switch or Extend ?
Thanks kiss

I've always used only church certificate but there's no harm uploading both.

Messyodi:
Good morning house.

Which marriage certificate is more ideal to upload for your supporting documents. A marriage cert from an Anglican church or a local government registery? Or should i just upload both?

I'm afraid 'sister' doesn't qualify as ones dependant.

"To qualify as a dependent you must be the spouse, unmarried, or civil partner of the sponsor. Children under the age of 18 years can also accompany the sponsor to the UK as the sponsor's dependents."

Miztea:
Hi all.
Please I need some advice. I am on a tier 2 visa at the moment which will get me 2022 and thereafter will be extended until I get my ILR.

i would like to file for my younger sister who is 15yrs at the moment to be my dependant before she turns 18yrs. The idea is that she gets to be my dependant so that when I get my settlement settlement status she can also get the same as well and she can start her uni education/career as soon as she is done with secondary school.

I am single and I'm 26 and the first child of my mum. And I would love to achieve this aim before getting married.

My question is, is this possible and if yes, how do I approach this.

Your contributions will be much appreciated.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Bourne007(m): 9:22am On Aug 07, 2020
Ha okay .. .. application form must have been revised since I last filled one in 2016 lol

Probably he should request his personal information held by UKVI so he addresses it accordingly as well.

mimilyrics:
True but the 10 years part is true for previous travel and visas to the UK in the last 10 years.

For the problems with immigration to the UK and problems with immigration to other countries than the UK sections, the question is "have you even been refused a uk visa / any other visa, deported from the UK / any country, removed from the UK / any country, required to leave the UK / any country, refused entry at the UK border / any other country" (no time frame is specified).

He will also have to detail it on his cover letter because in talking about the old passport with the wrong date of birth, he'll have to explain the background of the issue. If he had never applied for a visa before, it wouldn't even be an issue.

Will update errors once my eyes are clear of sleep biko.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Bourne007(m): 8:32am On Aug 07, 2020
@Fame2me79 said he was denied in 2005. On the application form, he only needs to state refusals in the last 10 years. Still needs affidavit as there will be records if ECO needs to check.

mimilyrics:
I would suggest that you address this in your application so that it doesn't come back to bite you in the a**. Get the necessary legal documents (I.e. affidavit) to affirm that there was indeed an error on your previous passport and that your original date of birth is the one you have on the new passport.
If you don't address this and you're found out (since you also have to declare past refusals), it will connote a case of deliberate misrepresentation.

Major concern is if the NHS covid 19 test is the same as required by the airlines which is PCR covid 19 test. Do you know anyone who has used the evac flight pls ? http://www.nigeriahc.org.uk/uploads/news/NewGuidelinesArrival.pdf .
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 9:09pm On Jul 31, 2020
Website doesn't specify if resident or not. Her result came by email and text so printed via email.

I know loads of people (return flight whatsapp group) who used the service (walk in or drive through) with no issues whatsoever.

Ace2013:
Hello, i am not sure if this is for people on visit visa. I think its only for residents. I didn't want to take any risk to avoid any comeback for using NHS service. I called the NHS and they said the result is by text only. The airline ( Airpeace) needs a test result and i believe they need an actual paper result not text message. That was why i had to pay for this to avoid missing the flight ( that would mean 400,000 naira gone). Do you have any one that used the evac flight with that free COvid 19 text message result from NHS?

https://self-referral.test-for-coronavirus.service.gov.uk/antigen/name

I used the link above to book a free test and got results within 24 hours. There's the walk in and drive through option.

Ace2013:
Yes, I have just requested for covid 19 test home kit for £150 which includes dr's signature. I checked if NHS can do for free but they said that cannot be used for travel. So i had to make a request from a private clinic https://www.citydoc.org.uk/covid-19-fit-to-fly/. If you decide to go this evac route be prepared to spend at least £1K which includes the flight of course. Sadly, this is how Nigeria keeps failing its citizens. No one knows when the airspace would be opened and not after Airpeace has secured evac contract. God dey

That was the first batch.

What they are doing now is evacuees must quarantine in Lagos or Abuja only for 14 days. So those not resident book hotels at their own cost and those fortunate to have relatives stay with them.

famzynet:
Too expensive. And one still has to pay for quarantine in Nigeria, right? I learnt quarantine fee is up to 290k.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Bourne007(m): 11:37pm On Jul 23, 2020
I think you are referring to Wirecard / Curvecard which has nothing to do with Monzo

mimilyrics:
grin As I stated then, it was a temporary note of caution as a result of the UCard issue pending when the FCA fixed the loopholes that were existent then. The Ucard issue has been sorted now and the loopholes fixed.

Monzo is to get the OP ready for transaction upon arrival in the UK before shopping for other banks after sorting enrolment and settling down.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Bourne007(m): 11:17pm On Jul 23, 2020
I thought you advised against using Monzo grin

mimilyrics:
In the UK. Once you sort your accomodation, you can open a monzo account from your phone using your passport/any govt issued ID and get your debit card in 2-5 working days or get a status letter from your school (after your enrolment) to open a traditional bank account. For Monzo, you can pay the £ cash you had from Nigeria into your account at any post office since it's not a brick and mortar bank.

If you have to do it in Nigeria, it can be daunting because most banks give the $ card so if you get that, you need to fund your card with $ before you leave (this might end up being expensive in the long run). If you can get a £ card in Nigeria, then you can fund that through transfer to enable you do pos/web payments in the UK; you will only be able to withdraw Forex deposited in cash via cash.

My MIL was stuck here as well and was meant to return Last April with BA. She returned with the 2nd evacuation flight about 4 weeks ago with Air Peace.

You have nothing to worry about with overstay as it will be overlooked in the next application but you just need to update UKVI. I think no one knows the next evacuation as the last one was a mess. Air Peace was denied landing rights and were forced to hire a UK based flight (Air Partner) which the embassy claimed it was expensive

The embassy no go ever pick so it's best to just keep an eye on their website.

Ace2013:
Hello, could you please advise on below.

My mum in law has been in the UK since feb and was due to return April end but her flight got cancelled. She flew in with BA. They have cancelled on us over 4 times now and still uncertain if they would fly next month i.e august. Her visa expired July 21st and i extended using the corona virus extension which is now valid July 31st. I am trying to call the Nigerian embassy to see if i can get her booked unto the next evacuation flight of which the date is still unknown. No response from them yet.

Abeg people do we have people with the same experience? Kindly advise as i do not want her to be classed as as "overstay"

Common oga Lexus .. But this is so untrue .. I use Monzo for small and/or hefty and never pegged. I have friends who use Starling Bank for business and theirs have never been pegged and even recognised by the govt for BBLS.

Probably the one u dey use na China product grin so wouldn't be surprised if pegged tongue

Lexusgs430:
Monzo and the likes, are disposable accounts favoured by àwọn ọmọ olodus........

Try making a hefty transfer from a traditional account to Monzo or the likes....... Your bank would peg transfer in the cloud............ grin
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 5:19pm On Jul 21, 2020
If you use a digital bank like Monzo, it will give you the option to accept or decline transaction. Traditional banks will always decline such transactions. Them never step their game up cheesy

LagosismyHome:
Mine is still sleeping, almost 2 hours later grin... hopefully the system will wake up and do the transfer . I just couldn't get it paid by visa , tried 4 bank cards I have and it all declined so I took a chance and did bank transfer

Maybe that why it taken longer . Good rate but not all bank cards will be allowed.

Sometimes they don't know the rules. Email the school(s) explaining the attached

mamacajah:
The reason I am asking is because I have lost 2 applications based on this academic progression on a 2nd Masters. Both schools said I didn't meet academic progression for doing a second program at the same level during visa application. But now you guys are saying that applies only to those in UK? But I applied as an overseas student. I am getting a bit confused here... huh undecided

Is there anyone who successfully applied for a 2nd Masters or knows someone who did.. to shred more light on this.. Thanks!
