Yes you cousin needs to as it's a new application. You are entitled to a refund of the 'refused' application and if no refund after certain days, you can follow the process of getting a refund.

Guidance says marriage cert and joint bills. And also the guidance clearly states not to add unceasary docs or irrelevant docs.


April 2019 Me and my big head after reading PBS dependant guidance back to back out in application for my spouse with marriage cert and only docs requested (maintanance, passport etc) na so we see denial for mail oh.

When we reapplied, I put everything putable, pictures, chat call history, letter from naija government, letter from court etc. That's when we are granted the visa oh.


Moral of the story

Its better safe than sorry.

Proving is one thing, the rules are another. I'm sure the ECO would want to follow the latter.

The dependant rules apply to a child above 18 only if the child hasn't married or started living an independent life and the parents can prove it.

But first child is 19 and dependant rules apply to under 18 years. Even if op submits all these proof to convince ECO, same guidelines will apply. Don't you think?

You can decide for the main applicant to go first to sort accommodation so that the stress of searching and cost of temporary accommodation while you look for a permanent one doesn't affect you all. To prove that he's dependent on you, submitting the following will help prove your case and convince the ECO that he meets all the requirements of a student dependant visa;
1. An official letter from their current school, college or university that confirms their address (which should be same as yours).
2. bank statement (which may show funds that you/your husband are still providing to support him).
3. Driver's licence (the address on it should be the same as your address).
4. evidence that he is being financially supported by you and your husband up to the point of the application submission (for example, evidence covering a 3 month period prior to the application)

You can apply for extension 28 days before the expiry of your current Spousal visa.

It's a valid reason.

UKVI has said "During this time, you will not be treated as an overstayer or suffer any detriment in any future immigration applications for this consideration period."

BRP permit is the actual visa that will be collected once you arrive UK. If you applying separately, it has been standard practice to use BRP to apply for your dependants. As UKVI has recently updated their guidelines, I've looked and there's really no mention of such. You can have a look as well

If you want to apply immediately as you said, you can 'maybe' try the Visa Decision letter. Who knows. You can write a follow up letter with it.

How true is this your assertion? That they cant use your GWF application number to apply for dependant visa? I haven't heard of this, what of those that apply together?

Pls explain better the rationale behind using BRP permit for dependants to apply because my dependants are applying shortly after I get my visa, and I am planning to wait for them to get it so we move together. But this your BRP theory is scary and confusing.

Ask for Council tax exemption letter from your Uni and forward if you qualify. Some councils will ask for student ID and they will verify directly with the uni.

They can't use your application number to apply for 'Dependant Visa'. You will have to get your BRP permit usually given when in the UK then they can apply.

Thank you for your response.Yes, I am the child. My dad is unable to break these funds as he has fixed it for over year. He is unable to transfer to me at this time. He can only do that in December. My applications are for JANUARY 2021 so the 28 days needs to already be counting.
Alternatively is possible for my dad to show financial evidence for me for both CAS and visa in December and then my family applies for visa in January referencing my application number but using my husband's account or our joint account. That is applying separately within a 2 week period. Thanks.

No letter of approval is required as long as both names clearly show on statement

UKVI uses OANDA (https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/) for conversion. As it stands, it's approximately N498 but it's recommended to increase a bit more (say N100 as rate not stable)

It can be more than 28 days. But once printed, use within 31 days and if you don't, just re-print

Really bizarre an employer wants to employ a student to work more than 20 hours (except on uni break or on holidays). Not only s/he is breaking immigration rules but the company, if found out, will face penalties.

If it's that juicy, ask for sponsorship.

But the problem is, he needs to satisfactorily explain the reason for changing to a lower level of study to these universities. Not really sure how PDG in SHU to BSc Nursing can really be explained tbh. And there licences are on the line so they wouldn't want to take that risk.

According to the rules, you are not demonstrating academic progression mainly 'cos you don do PGD for SHU. If to say na only BSc you get, you for stand a chance. Either try a higher level masters or PhD

Then it has to be any of the FLR () dependant.. I really doubt if T2 dependant can be given such outside of the T2 rules.
