It doesn't make any sense for his uncle to come babysit his mum, just as it doesn't make any sense asking a breadwinner to quit his job and do the babysitting, especially where there are alternatives such as his siblings, extended family members and he could periodically visit. His uncle should "get" it if he ask him to do the babysitting and if he refuses (which imply that his own responsibilities is not negotiable), then why should he expect the poster to do the same?
