Christianity Etc › Re: Is The 'Prosperity' Gospel A Scam? by BRATISLAVA: 6:49pm On Nov 27, 2022 |
jesusjnr2020: For me it has never been in question ever since I began to walk with God closely, because I have always thought the prosperity gospel was a scam and a fraud and have been preaching against it passionately for decades up til date, so the denouncement of the gospel by Benny Hinn and Creflo Dollar of recent was only a confirmation of the view I've always held.
I can remember over fifteen years ago, a friend of mine who knew well how passionately I preached against that doctrine, brought a printed donation slip of Benny Hinn ministries which contained some of the doctrines' ideas, as if to tell me that that if someone like Benny Hinn could preach such, then who am I?
Fast forward about fifteen years later, the same Benny Hinn would come out to also denounce such ideas of the doctrine as contained in that donation slip and apologized for them.
That proved that it's not about who's wealthy or well-respected or popular, but who's saying the truth.
It also proves that such church leaders were not inerrant, and they could yet be misleading many souls.
Imagine how many souls have been misled by Benny Hinn and Creflo Dollar when they were preaching it for decades, considering how influential they were in the Christendom?
I wonder what my friend thinks now that the same person he looked up to had dumped the 'prosperity' doctrine he believed in.
That's why it's important to follow Christ instead of men even though they be true men of God.
God bless. After denouncing, did they restitute? If they didn't, they aren't really repentant. |

Woman can own d bastard @Kobonaire234 Can you see what the problem always will be? How can men 100% own the children they didn't even birth ? These are troublesome and useless cultures. Any foreigner who gets tangled in this sort of culture is in for it should something happen to their Nigerian man partner. |

Kobonaire234: Yes, though at the end, marriage is hard work.
While I agree with your point...we still have cases where the broken up relationship come from the same culture, race and country, and still one parent is prevented from seeing the child by the other parent and his or her family.
There is supposed to be an international convention on the matter...but it is difficult to enforce even in developed countries (and some have even refused to sign the convention self)... You are right. But it is worse with someone from a different culture to yours. What they see as right can be morally wrong in yours. There will be no middle ground if both of you are deeply entrenched in their cultures. I have met nice people but what kept us apart is their cultural approach to certain matters. They may seem okay with it, but later on you get to realize they really aren't and don't see anything wrong in it. Good luck to her. She will need it. A country like Nigeria with largely undocumented people and weak means of enforcing identity will be a haystack to work at in finding a needle. |

Kobonaire234: I have modified my post.
I am going to add that the issue of international child custody battles is a serious matter. And yes, it involves relatives (a case happened where the mother was even dead, but the mother's relatives were witholding the child from the husband. And it involved two non-African countries).
I have read about this thing for years. It's not a nice thing to read about. It's not nice. Must be traumatizing for the parent who had the child taken. If they're enslaving her child while she sends them money, they are the cruel type who will keep the child away from her out of spite and greed. Maybe they are building a mansion with her payments and won't let go of the child until it's been completed. It's kind aspect of intercultural partnership people really need to look into. You can get the perfect spouse with such a different Mindset to yours culturally. And that's a recipe for pain and disaster. |

He was only harping on "GRACE" How can we live in sin that GRACE may abound? That's what happens when people deify pastors and clergy. One person accuses him, another does, even more do from the sidelines, with the same worrying story, but some will say he's innocent because time has flown by and he's built a brand for himself. In this case, some concept called grace when there are very good laws of the land to handle him. Globtrotter seems to think he's innocent because the accusers don't have evidence, only what he calls "word of mouth", as if statements aren't admissible in court. After all, rape victims prepare to be raped, so they carry cameras around waiting for it to happen. Then they can give evidence once their rapist denies it. It is time to shine for rapists and their enablers. |

GlobTrotter: I came to your house on the first of November, as soon as I came in, you cornered me into your room, I tried shouting , no body heard me. And you raped me. *Tears tears tears!!!*
That's all I need to accuse you and you will be guilty. You need to provide some form of evidence before you accuse someone of a capital crime like rape or else you will be sued and jailed.
Was there no communication, was there no evidence of you entering his house, no call trail, nothing, just word of mouth.
Abeg wake up Tell us what really happened. More details. We don't want your manipulative tears. You came because you wanted sex, right? You weren't forced, you came to me on the couch, we flirted and then suddenly you turned on me after sex because I didn't want a relationship with you afterwards.
If I raped you, where's the semen in your anus from that year? I would never force myself on you. And you told me you liked it rough, too. Where's your evidence? I'm innocent. You're trying to ruin my life.Even though I really did it, you should believe my word of mouth that I didn't. Can you see why you wouldn't want to believe her even if it is true what she said happened? Even with a sextape of the rape, you will still say she enjoys violent sex. A lot worse was said for baba Ijesha with glaring evidence. What does it take for her to come out with that allegation as a married woman, after so many years? In Nigeria, what will that get her? What about the other women accusing him? Oh, maybe they're all a coven of accusers, right? You want evidence of a rape that happened many years ago in a country that doesn't have forensics? Were there telephones then? This is the wisdom of a lot of Nigerian rapists. Where is the evidence, where is the evidence? Hiding rape behind evidence because you think you're all smart when you ask for evidence. Because she doesn't have evidence, it means she was not raped? That all the other women accusing him weren't raped? One of your intercontinental rapists tried that on this forum, and he is languishing in prison after facing a competent court. If there was no evidence, he would've hoodwinked you and all his supporters easily. Wake up! He isn't the only man alive, so why always him? The witnesses should begin to speak up as evidence. Maybe what they say well be "word of mouth" like his denials. |

GlobTrotter: I can say you raped me right now and you will be guilty. Using your analogy Very good. Narrate how it happened. And if I have money with which to intimidate you, you will go silent. Or, other people will come up and say it didn't happen because they need the sextape first. It won't mean it didn't happen. They may even say that that isn't what happened even after seeing our tape. Hope you have my copious semen in your anus to prove it happened? I know it's been a while, but you do have the evidence, right? You see why you can't believe coza man? When many people accuse him of the same thing, shouldn't he be thoroughly investigated? |

GlobTrotter: was there any evidence of that fact except word of mouth
He may actually be as innocent and she be as guilty I think you need to review word of mouth cases worldwide. Unless you expected her to hold his semen in her womb till the day she decided to speak about it, so that she would show you as proof, in a country that doesn't have forensics, it doesn't make sense to throw away the "word of mouth" that many women at different times have about him. Is he the only pastor in Nigeria? Or why is he always accused of rape? He should be investigated. But as a man of influence many people will conclude she wants to "destroy his career". If she is guilty, what do you claim she would be guilty of? Opening herself to the scrutiny of people who won't believe her? A lot of you wanted proof of rape. When it was given to you in the baba Ijesha case, you said it was a setup, and said no rape happened, unless you could watch the por_no of it to believe it did. Same thing with the BBC sex for grades scandal. There's no pleasing the angels themselves. |
