You can believe online lies that easily?
95% of men and their tales on the internet are just that: misogynist tales.
palsenator: Unfortunately for the female folks, it's the man's world. What we get away with as Nigerian/patriarchal men, they dare not attempt them. It's the unfair part of life
Hannania: Sorry to say, but it seems you're inexperienced to the shades of life.
If she's not told, someone will say it to her face when she's of age. You forgot the fact that the mother told her so call Prophetess and she went to share it with the church until the news spread.
That news has already been planted and will keep growing. Either in her teenage, or when she's about to marry.
Please read my last reply and apply wisdom to it. That's a stronghold of fatherhood to be learned
Please.
Everyone has seen the shades of life. Let the child bring it up themselves. There's no wisdom in telling them.
If they don't ask you, why tell them? If someone else brings it up, explain it to them. Many raped children go through life without ever finding out. Many products of incest, too. Nobody told them, and if they find out good, if they don't, good.
Many people are looking for problems in the name of the truth.
Hannania: Because we live in a small world, and sooner or later, someone will locate her to remind her. Best she hears it from her own father. You can't escape the truth. The best form of tackling it is to accept it. Life has taught me that the hard way.
If the child has no reason to know and doesn't ask it themselves, why tell them they were raped at an age they can't even remember it happened? This is not adoption, but rape.
What is the point? It is a small world, but nobody has come to tell the child, so why does the child need to know something traumatic of that nature? After telling them unprovoked/unasked, what will your point be? So many children have grown up and moved on without ever knowing that they were raped, or parents telling/reminding them to prove they're truthful parents.
It's not about escaping the truth, but what is the necessity behind it when it is not necessary? You are reminding them that they were raped for what? Because someone else hypothetically will?
Once again, some of you are the cause of your problems.
Hannania: Somethings can be forgiven, but to forget is impossible. The only thing I'll do differently is not to arrest her. It's not worth it. That action is to the boy, and since he's not 18 yet, as long as am alive, he must be charged for rape when he's of age. Every action he takes now should be about the innocent child. No matter the fear(that's if it is), you don't go about telling your family's predicament to an outsider. You can see what it led to.
To protect that child, she should be raised with no connection to that family. I can't imagine how she'll feel. When she's 16-18, he should seat her down and inform her of her child hood.
I don't know about you, but personally, when am in a relationship and my partner tells about our ordeal outside I lose every form of affection ASAP. Not even my family should know about what goes on in my relationship. It's a bond of trust. And it's my responsibility as a man to make sure I don't make it toxic or uncomfortable for my partner because that's the cost of trust for me. That's why it's hard to date these days, because ladies in particular can't keep to that. It's either her friend, her mother or worst case her pastor.
I understand your point, but he will never look at her the same again .
Why should a parent sit down their child to remind them that they were raped at 2, if the child doesn't remember it? To serve what purpose? So that what happens next? You would subject your "innocent child" to that?
spartachico: bro im a married man with kids, and i do talk with my wife to never bring people into our personal affairs no matter how bad it is and she kept to it and even when my son got injured at her place of business it only took couple of hours to inform me after getting him treated at the healthcare center , the matter na issue between husband and wife ,if wife too dey fear husband and cant confide in her husband ,then church, and friends and prophet are the next people they confide in and forgetting this prophets are also human being
@bolded could be the case here
Coupled with silly traditions concerning child abuse
Offpoint1: Nairaland with old News, news that circulated almost 3 weeks now is just getting to Nairaland.
By the ways, it's a good step. I still have 2% Faith in Nigeria.
They prefer reporting on what women did here and there, and how they dealt with entitled girls. And talking about living in Canada and how terrible Canada is. Or travel, in general.
This is very old news. And from the first post, you can imagine if it's tribal sentiment that kept it away from becoming news here since it came out.
spartachico: na catholic church priest you mention without putting bros majority of us were catholic bor but as we enter lagos or open cities ,we don join redeem and co
But you can see why the wife would go to a prophetess for help. It's a common thing for christians, Catholics and other Orthodox religions to seek forgiveness through leaders. Especially knowing her husband's temperament.
spartachico: i can concur with you to some extent and you see this pastors and daddy G O and mommy G O wey our women dey seek advice from ,na them be the real evil ,imagine you a woman of God and some one came to confide in you and ask for advice and you start leaking her secret , the prophetess Bleep that woman up big time ,i do warn my wife about them most time ,i pity the family tho cus lovely family going down the drain if nobody call or advice both of them ,the man mentioned the wife is a good wife
I heard some people were questioning the fact that Tinubu delegated most of the question thrown at him to El'rufai, gbajabiamila and the rest.
It was pre-planned, pre-arranged and intentional. That is team work we have been clamouring for all these years. That is being a Leader entails. Nigerians should be gtateful for having a man surrounded by technocrat, experts and economical guru at his service.
Not been surrounded by the likes of very daft LP; datti-ahmed, looting Doyin okupke, confused babachir lawal, attention seeking Aisha yesufu and at the other side of PDP ; a tout like dino-malaye, power-hungry dogara, bukola sarki and the rest.
If you need to laugh today, read the second paragraph.
Orgasmgiver123: Picture ain't clear but from where I stand, I see a red eyed dove, from the columbidae family. (It sounds like a pigeon but its voice has more bass, ash colour with red flesh surrounding both eyes and red dots of feathers on the wing area) correct me if I'm wrong
No need to be scared bro Doves come with good luck sha remember me when the money finally enter
Damn... nasty... I'm out of here
This has to be the weirdest post of the day.
This guy, who posts for likes (with his questionable user name), is actually an ornithologist. Or some kind of wildlife buff. Or a Google master.
Lummoni: Could be, since she has been to Nigeria Embassy twice and been in contact with South African Embassy numerous times, even contacted a lawyer in Nigeria and went there with a man from a neighboring village but she had to leave without her child
This is an extremely dumb attempt at creating a woman-bashing thread.
She suspected a child of not being hers, yet she's doing a DNA test to check if it's her husbands? How much are people paid for this kind of pot stirring? And how on Earth does anyone believe this?
vickydevoka: Most men do marry women out of pity. Wic I’m about to do Buh I keep remembering what my dad told me. 1. She’s a nursing student in final year , we are friends n I dash her money n gift her stuff. She told me openly she like me as I know want hurt her I told her same. Buh I also to her I can’t give her 100 percent assurance for marriage. I hate to be tied up to one thing.
I came to realise most Nigerian men that got married to nurses end up suffering in de marriage. Couple with the fact that I will spend over 10 million Naira to settle down with her ( money for wedding, bringing her here and getting a house in uk). I might end up feeling entitled cuz I will feel I brought her here, so when ever she shouts at me or nags I might get pained easily and might regret bringing her up. That’s y must Nigerian men in us kill their wife when the woman start showing up they feel they have lost. I need a peaceful marriage I don’t need a woman’s money in marriage abeg.
What does she bring to the table? Is she productive?
Clearly men here will post one thing and in reality do another thing. You all truly want dependent wives.
Only the broke ones are looking for a woman who will struggle for them.
Magnoliaa: A man who left his wife at home and found succour in the club is an hurt man looking for peace, but a married woman partying with her friends and going to clubs and hangouts is an irresponsible fellow who has turned her husband to a simp, and cannot let go of the independence she enjoyed before marrying.
Nor be say she dey run from troublesome King Ahab husband at home o.
That's beautiful.
Lol.
Very good disruption posting and reading comments here.
