Christianity EtcRe: Why Is It That Women Have Positions And Are Head Of Churhes by brownbonno(m): 1:03pm On Apr 27, 2008
Women are the motivators in churches,if women strike from church.hmm the church will fold up.Don;t undermine the power of a woman when used rightly.
Don;t quote me,women are more spiritually inclined, and have the potentials to over rule the men in the church that is why the Bible humbly define their place in the house of God.

John 8:32-And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Luke 6:37-Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Now how do you know the truth without a sense of judgement ?

The Bible also said-
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Be wise and seek the kingdom of God.

TravelRe: How Can I Seek Redress From U.k Embassy? by brownbonno(m): 10:12am On Apr 26, 2008
Babalase,

If your application is based on your official capacity,it should have be done formally from your office to the embassy.Morealso,if your application is on a personal application in company of your boss,he should make a letter to that effect and presentation of his bank statement doesn;t expressly state a commitment to your travel expenses.
There is no need to borrow money to deposit in your account because it will raise a suspicion, rather get a letter from your boss stating or claiming responsibilities for your trip.Go back to embassy with the extra document/letter and apply for a review of your application(NOT APPEAL).
Wish you success

Thanks for coming back FULLY to this thread.

Remember the parents and Pat are no more in England

Do Pat has any right at all as somebody born in UK?
The answer is NO.

As Londoncool rightly said, she can take advantage of the 10 yrs concession rules ONLY if she still in the UK.

BusinessRe: Cost Of Incorporating A Ltd Company At CAC by brownbonno(m): 12:05am On Apr 24, 2008
omogidi234:
I have had course to educate people here(i.e nairaland) and I am sure other lawyers have done same. Now the only form of business an individual can register at CAC is BUSINESS NAME. Every other one you have to use the services of a lawyer, chartered secretaries and chartered acct. They are the ones that have been accredited by CAC to do so. You cannot register a LTD,PLC or whatever form without them because you will have to use their accreditation number i.e. for lawyers you have something like NBA/IND/, you will require this number to do bizz other than Business name with CAC. Thus, rather than come here and ask for info on how much it takes to register a coy, I would have expected you to ask who could do it affordably for you.
Omogidi,
I am sure i understand you clearly that you are a professional lawyer ?If the answer is yes,it would be wiser to educate the CAC on how to disseminates information about their services to the public.
A view at their website clearly states what is required to incorporate a business and better be educated-

Q - What is the procedure for incorporating a company?

Search for availability of name
Payment of appropriate stamp duty fee at the Federal Board of Internal Revenue
Submission of Memorandum and Articles of Association together with statutory forms for verification and assessment
Payment of statutory fees at the Corporate Affairs Commission
Q - What is the procedure for registering a Business Name?

Search for availability of name
Submission of duly completed statutory forms with two passport sized photographs of each applicant attached to the form
Payment of filing fee at the Corporate Affairs Commission

Like the poster rightly said,in the UK it cost only £20.00 to incorporate a business(within 8-10 working days) or £50.00 for same day.You only need to fill in 2 set of forms and your Memorandum and Articles of Association to complete the process.(You can as well get Memorandum and Articles of Association for a fee)
I am sorry to Nigeria lawyers here,i have not been impressed by the intellectual level of some of our Naija lawyers there in naija.A recent presentation/representation at the FCT public hearing committee by some lawyers was a flip floppy-
-lack of information
-straight jacket ideas
-lack of cohesion
-narrow minded
-no logical reasoning backed up with available case laws or instances
-etc etc etc
TravelEEA/European Free Movement Regulations by brownbonno(op): 10:40pm On Apr 22, 2008
Moderator,

It will be nice to create a thread for those who may want to use the EEA/EU rules to get an entry clearance to the UK or the relevant visa to EU states.
We are all aware of large numbers of Nigerian  who are European citizens and may want to sponsor/bring their family members(wife, husband, children, parents and extended family members) into the EU states.

For those that may want to know, since the full implementation of the EC/38/2004 into national immigration laws of the EU member states in 2006.It have given a clear pictures of the rights of EU nationals on their right to move freely through and border within the EU without immigration control. This right is also extended to the relevant family members that may join or accompany the EU citizen to another member state.

The Police have no right to ask him to produce his payslips, et al.They first of all have to levy charges against him, then its left for him to defend himself. Any smart Human Rights Lawyer will just take the Police to the cleaners.
I envy some of your posts in other threads, but here i beg to differ. The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) is very explicit on the discharge of their duties. Any obstruction on discharge of their duty is an offence which could lead to criminal investigation.
The police have every right to request proof of income in this case to establish source of the cash.In any criminal investigation all stone must be unturned(forensic).I don;t want to go into further details since the case is already in court.

your english is also getting better in just 2 days! interesting!
Most Nigerian are always prejudicial even in every little things.
Someboby is search for his dad, that have nothing to do with forensic investigation of every step of the case.Remember this is not a criminal investigation,a simple direction if you can will be more useful than perusing every steps of the young boy's efforts.
We should commend him as a 16 years boy looking for his father to enable him set his paternal track straight. He has not ask how he can claim Nigerian citizenship!!!!.
Recently NTA international telecasted a your girl of 23 yrs there in Nigeria(Benin City) searching for her mother after about 18 years of her life without her biological mother.According to her,she was financially comfortable  because her father is a Col in the Nigeria Army. But she feels incomplete as a person without a complete history.
Let us encourage the young boy on his efforts/mission.

With an open heart when with errors in dates as identified you can still trace your father.
I am sure you/your mum went to nigeria with a Visa which should be obtained through your father as the sponsor. If that is correct your mum should  remember the embassy that issued the visa, from that jigsaw your father will be identified.
If that identification is possible, then his place of birth and his address in Nigeria should be with the embassy through the Visa sponsor's application.
Thereafter you can come back to this forum with more information for further assistance if need be.
Tip-
A simple letter to the embassy will be ok with a copy of your birth certificate(i am sure your dad name is included in the certificate).Although is clear that Netherland don't include undocumented immigrants in their child's birth certificate.

Yes I knew the meaning from my name and my sisters name, my mother told us. On my id card is standing the name Emeka but I hope that I can also say Chukwuemeka because I like that a lot. My mother says that I can not use that name because it´s not registrered.
Boy i can understand your feelings.I am sure u can locate your father, as u are aware 1997 is long time.Surely these lead will help-
1.Go to Antwerp there is particular night club/bar owned by a Nigerian,i am sure they can help you because they both(husband/wife)lived in Holland before relocating to Belgium.Just ask any African around the Antwerp Train station where u can find African Night clubs(100m from the train station.
2.Go to Achen(Germany border town with Heerlen there is community of old Nigeria Immigrants there, they may also know him.
he Antwerp lead will be the best bet(usually Thursday-saturday night)
Wish u the best.
I am sure your dad got his passport from either of the below embassy, they may as well tell you of his place of birth in Nigeria.

Eliza704,
Keep up your faith, the opportunity will surely be opened.
Nigeria is a nice place to be,nice people to be with, having one or two set back must not deter your determination.
There could be some misjudgement of intentions or prejudice, they are part of human existence.Your example of not accepting a fellow AA by a Nigerian can only be understood with a better study of the western colonisation of Africa history.Especially the west Africa region was governed with the principle of Association as against the principle of Assimilation that is administered in other parts of Africa. This principle was administered because of the inherent traits of the various regions/people.
CultureRe: Impact On Slavery On Africans And The African Diaspora by brownbonno(m): 2:27am On Apr 11, 2008
Eliza704:
Well im glad some body brought this issue to light. First i want to say, i am an african american and i have always been proud of where i came from. It pains me that so much was taken away from me. My name, my native language, my culture, my traditions every thing. My or should i say our people were bought, sold, trade, beat, rapped, and sold again and over and over. Our language and name was beat out of us. We were nothing more than cattle. It pains me to know that some africans insult us. In doing so they are also insulting themselves. One african said we afro americans were lost property! I don't fight but im telling u if i could get my hands on that idiot! millions of your kin were put on those ships. So why down us? why do they tear us down so. Its hard being black in america. You can't imagine. When we try to connect with our roots we are rejected. No matter how much education we have to some people we are still just niggers. I hate what happened to us but what can we do now. 400 years of pain.
With much emotions or sentiments i can understand your concern, but you will also agree with me that most Africa descents tend to believe Africans living in the west are not their equals.A typical Jamaican here in The UK will want to see a Nigerian as a non equal,a sponger and an easy life seekers.
I am sure its a high time Africa descents should understand our oneness and some times take a prigimage trip to Africa for a fresh understanding of the Africa heritage and identity.
The 400 years of pain can be healed by having an involvement with your Africa route. It is a painful experience,an unforgettable experience, yes,we cannot change it.We can only do a part by channeling efforts and resources to make Mother Africa a better continent that we all live to cherish.
Afro Americans are not lost properties, they are only victims of circumstance. Those who thinks otherwise could be missing a vital part of the information of the Afro America history.
I will encourage you the Afro American to try and reconnect with mother Africa because thats where they belong.

You know the reality of the situation on ground, there is no need seeking for advice here-Nairaland.whoever is the subject of this discussion should go back home and enjoy her marriage life.
There is no need painting the husband as a lazy poor man, don;t forget it was this same man that brought her to Ireland.
Stop given Nigeria a bad name in Ireland, they are generous enough to grant your child citizenship.
