Although it's not a core problem that should be placed on the front burner today, I think these are the kind of issues that protests should be organised for. One issue, one protest. It might not have any immediate effect whatsoever but it will sound it clearly to the authorities that the streets are watching. And 2019 is just around the corner. |

Na wa The way he's been speaking with foreigners makes me wonder. Maybe he should have vied for the post of Speaker of the House or simply lobbied to be our foreign affairs minister. He had a lot of goodwill then. They'd have obliged his request. He ran in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015 for presidency. It's now on record that in 2017, he's run away from presidency. Na real wa! |
Papiikush:Instead of pointing out that it won't work, simply provide an alternative that you think might work. |

‘’Mamman Daura is a powerful member of President Buhari’s kitchen cabinet. In fact, he is considered by most as the de facto Vice President of Nigeria. Most critical decisions – such as the choice of Ministers and other important appointments - have been credited to him. He even lives in Aso Rock. Mamman Daura is President Buhari’s nephew. His father is the elder brother of Buhari. Mamman Daura has a son. His name is Kabir Daura. He is President Buhari’s Personal Assistant. Abba Kyari is the Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He also happens to be the foster child of - Yes. You guessed it - Mamman Daura. Then there is Hadi Sirika. Hadi Sirika is the Minister of State for Aviation. He is the son of Buhari's elder sister. Hadi Sirika has an elder sister – a niece of Buhari. Her name is Amina Zakari. Amina Zakari was INEC acting Chairman last year. Then there is Aisha Abubakar. She wasn’t even a member of the APC. But all that didn’t matter. But today, she is the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Investment. Her mother is Buhari’s sister. So, friends, there you have it. And, thanks for your time. I guess we can all now go back to our various lives and continue pretending not to notice how our national affair has become one man's family affair." Nigerians, truly, your Change has come. ---DR JUNAID MOHAMMED |
arsenal33:And in Lagos too around the 2015 election period but two wrongs don't make a right. Besides, it's the common Nigerian that bears the brunt of these cases of impunity and abuse of office. Neither Gej and Pmb nor their cronies. It's baffling why y'all can't just speak against these injustices, come together and lend your voice to the demand for good governance that will permeate all spheres of society over time. Instead you'd rather bicker back and forth over who did wrong first and which party, religion, ethnicity or race he's inclined to. |

martineverest:Iffa slap you! Which UK are you referring to? Uriel that was born, bred and buttered in the UK didn't say she doesn't know Banky. When you're ignorant about stuff, you don't need to advertise your ignorance. Just keep quiet and learn: people will focus on the job at hand and won't be sure where you stand. Instead of opening your mouth to clear all doubt. |

Semper247:These are supposed to be open and shut cases because of the humongous sums involved and the careless manner in which the corporate robberies were carried out. It is however unfortunate but this too will end inconclusively. Maybe she might just part with a couple hundred millions that will be shared amongst the prosecutors and new set of government thieves. These cases are usually dead on arrival because of the insincerity of purpose on the part of the government. The camaraderie being played out is just a ploy to get to eke out a larger sum from the accused. |

hucienda:Suddenly, Reuben Abati has a pen again. As an undergraduate at the University of Ibadan 16 years ago, a Use of English lecturer once told the class that we should read through editorial columns for concise and balanced critiques on social issues. He pointed out Reuben Abati's column as one that readily came to mind. At the time, the name wasn't very familiar to me. It pretty much wasn't. Over time, I came to understand why the lecturer's recommendation easily came about. Reuben Abati dissected, analysed, critiqued and advised Obasanjo's government (and previous ones also) so masterfully well that the GEJ administration employed him to serve in a suitable capacity (whether to advise the government from within or to shut him up though, no one could say at the time). And then Reuben Abati's pen ran out of ink. Professionally, he became a shadow of himself. Personally, it was disappointing. His performance could easily have been compared on the same pedestal with the shameless shenanigans of today's Lai Mohammed and Femi Adesina. I thank the good God that Reuben Abati has finally refilled his pen. I only wish I knew exactly what happened to his voice during his time as a presidency staff. |

Jokerman:Not only that but 1. The protest was allowed and police protected the protesters. 2. The price was reduced from #140 to #95 3. We were still not satisfied because of certain other injustices, unneccessary economic hardships and stealing of public funds by government 4. We voted out that government and they peacefully departed (without regard to Godswill/Orubebe) |

My opinion is that we have suffered in this country. And we're still suffering. And the nature and cause of this suffering is such that it cannot be wished away and it will be difficult to break free from its shackles. So when an individual or a group people decide to begin to plan and execute the arduous process salvaging and restoring the society, it's of no use to well meaning members of that society to undermine their efforts. At best, they should be supported in every way. At worst, they should be left to waste their resources. Whatever the case is, they should not be impeded beyond advice and guidance on what to do and how to go about it within the confines of humanity and law. More pictures in a bit

ddippset:Go and bury your head in shame because you have failed this generation (if you are of this generation, to start with). GEJ and his cronies raped the Nigerian treasury with complete impunity. They watered and manured the seeds sown by the preceding governments. They would most probably have continued in their jamboree till date if the election results were different. However, that's history and today, Nigerians, regardless of where they lie on this your 80%/20% election-sentiment line are generally living a lower quality of life as compared to May 28, 2015. Are you saying that the PMB government hasn't performed badly enough to draw the polity's ire? |
ddippset:I'm assuming that this reply is directed at an adult. The matter on ground is inexplicable economic hardship. This has nothing to do with the said elections. Someone earlier said there is no crime beating a child, because you probably want him to change, but it will be immoral to tell the child not to cry. |
