So why blame Sanwo Olu. You all can see that trekking pays. For those trekking from Obalende to Lekki, Oworonshoki to Obalende, from CMS to Ajah, etc, please trek on. You may get a golden handshake from Sanwo Olu and a chieftaincy title "baba trekking" of Lagos from Oba of Lagos. And if you kuku miss train and trek to Abeokuta from Lagos because of Keke or Okada then you can meet the Oba for your own trekking prize. |

BuhariAdvocate:Pray for yourself like this: failure, poverty, bitterness and envy in my blood and my family line let me go! How did you find out about her club house life if not that you too must be a club house man. If he has 100 children that is his business and not yours. Who knows whether when you are ready you too would not happily and confidently marry a prostitute? |
The face na lion. Anyway Nigeria is moving gradually on the route of breakup. |
While others remained in APM he returned to APC. What is wrong with Nigerian politicians. What they need for their personal pockets never allow them make progressive laws work. An unfortunate loss of a man of that age. May his soul rest in peace. |
By the way, the crocodile complain aay e no chop belleful? |
recievesense:"Trump has broken the record of most lies told by a human being in under 3 yrs". Are you a Nigerian. If you are then you have just broken the record of most lies said in one statement. Have you not heard the names APC and Lai Mohammed before? Are you not aware of their records. Trump "lies" yet the nation moves from strength to strength. Our ogas here in Nigeria lie without remorse and try to return Nigeria to stone age. |
Agreed for the first time ever with Itsay Sagay. The Okadas kick people from their behind, pull ladies wigs off their heads, gang up to destroy peoples vehicles, slap and beat up car owners along with people inside the cars. They do not care about street lights or sign posts. Infact it is as if once a sane person starts Okada he loses his sanity. Even their passengers sometimes behave madly like them. The truth is that with their ban some peace and sanity would be restored in parts of Lagos. The worst riders come from Kano, Borno, Sokoto, Niger, Kebbi and Adamawa. They always carry daggers around and are very daring, yet they do not even ride smoothly. Other bad riders are the Yorubas. The Yorubas will always swear "ori iya e", as if the mothers of people have issues with them. If this policy can stand the test of time, then it would be great. Okadas were restricted to only certain parts in Abuja by El Rufai. Long after he left as FCT minister, the law is in full force there still. Next must be danfo drivers and tanker owners. If Ambode was allowed to return, by now Lagos would have been more beautiful. I hope Sanwo Olu can do more to make Lagos a better place. |
kunleweb:Na your president? The one who you have who does not seem to understand what is going on around him, why not face that one first? |
GamalNasser:Employees of Nigerians, elected through the consitution. |
Lagos state government came up with a policy banning Okadas and Tricycles from plying certain roads in Lagos a few days ago. We must not forget that this is not the first time Lagos under APC leadership banned this method of transportation. Before the formation of APC we had Fashola as governor of Lagos state. When Fashola campaigned for governorship of Lagos, he got the cooperation of Okada riders. He won and some time later he banned Okadas from plying certain Lagos roads. In the events leading to the campaign and eventual victory of ex gov Ambode, we noticed Okadas gradually creeping back into Lagos roads. Since all votes mattered, Okadas and Keke Napep voted en mass to give APC victory. They got back to the roads joyously and took over major roads once again. The ban placed on Okadas and Tricycles has been long overdue. Quite painful as it it that the livelihood of some people would be affected, the fact remains that regulating them is illusionary. With the entrance of riders from the north, it became very dangerous moving on Lagos roads either on foot or in your car. They would damage your car and beat you up irrespective of sex and age. Even as implementation has started, a few northerners in the business have been daring men on Badagry road - I do not know if that area is not affected too. When they were banned by Fashola, we heard that they were requested to upgrade, yet they did not do so. Now we can have some peace and sanity in some parts of Lagos. But will it remain for long? We must not forget that Nigerian politicians play very dirty. They do not care about how they win, so long as they win. As we move towards 2023, will the government not stylishly turn the other way when the Okada boys begin to find their way back? Would Okadas not be used for campaign? Would Okada riders not be induced financially just to secure votes? Something tells me that this ban on Okadas and Tricycles will not survive the test of time until 2023. They will get back to the highways because politicians will always bend the rule to favour themselves. |
rafhell:Do you remember Fela's song "wander , wander, wander, wander, wander, wander, wander, till you turn to wanderer". Now I see you want to compete and win the world trekking championship. Trek on bro until you turn to trekker. |
When in august 2019, the Nigerian government decided to shut the borders with neighbouring countries, we were given reasons such as: 1. Subversion of the Nigerian economy 2. Smuggling 3. Arms smuggling 4. Disrespect to the leader of west African states, etc. 5. Growth of local industries 6. Need to promote farming, etc Those West African countries begged and have kept begging the Nigerian government to open the borders to enable trade. Nigerians in those countries have been stifled along with the citizens and businesses in the neighbouring countries. The Nigerian government has insisted that the countries must meet certain standards to enable the Nigerian government open the borders. Do not forget the impact such closure has had on staple food like rice. We all know that "man no pass God". The Nigerian government did their own not minding that a higher power could deal with the government and its people. A few days ago the minister for information said Nigeria would react in the event of any action taken by the Americans. Now the Anericans have made good their threat. Disrespectfully enough the country were included among some five other countries that should not be ranked with us in anyway. Just like the Nigerian government disrespected the neighbouring countries, the USA has disrspected Nigeria and treated Nigerians like beggars. But come to think about it if going to America has become do or die, have Nigerians not be treated as beggars by the Americans? Rather than shout and bark, the Nigerian government has decided to set up a committee. Did Trump set up a committee to arrive at that conclusion? Just like the Nigerian government insisted that other west African governments must meet certain conditions before opening the borders, so also the Americans have decided that Nigeria must meet certain standards. The common Nigerian citizens may not need the Americans to live their lives daily, but the big men in government need the Americans daily in their lives. Their children live there, they go on holidays there, they take money from Nigeria and invest there, they boast of how they have been to Philadelphia, New york, Texas, etc. Now can we not see that man pass man here? Nigeria pass neighbouring west African countries, but America has shown who is bigger. |
Gabkosh:Run outside your house there, find a very good farmer with rough palms, ask him to give you a very good slap on your forehead so that you go get sense well. |

Tetehjewels:Where is the competence in this issue? Who would bear the additional cost? Did you think about that? You pay your freight to the shipping company with a clear destination on your shipping documents to Tin can seaport. The ship arrives Tin can and cannot discharge for four days and the shipping company moves the goods to one of the eastern seaports. Do you not know that would attract additional costs to the importer? Do you not know that the shipping companies would charge more especially as they would spend more fuel? What would happen to the goods in the event that the importer cannot meet up. Have you thought about the effect on cost of goods to the end user? Right in the presence of this government roads around Apapa went from bad to worse making business within and around the ports very difficult and much more expensive. Bonded terminals were created as an escape from port congestion, yet the terminals have been abandoned. Vessels cannot discharge when containers and goods previously discharged on the terminals cannot move out. What's happening to empty containers? Everywhere you see them not moved and they have taken up spaces. Look it is very good that eastern seaports can become functional, but the truth must be told that this government is very incompetent. In 16 years of the PDP, the roads to the seaports were not bad as they are today. As of 2015 trucks carrying 40ft containers charged within 70 - 90 k to reach designated areas in Lagos. Today in just four years of the APC as we speak trucks going to Ikeja carrying the same 40ft containers charge 1.2 million naira. You can go there yourself and check. Please leave PDP out of this. We voted APC cause we thought things would be better. If you still remain with the same story then there is a problem. We should not let ourselves be deceived especially when we are not properly informed. Ask for infornation before you make your judgement. The present leadership has a very long way to go to surpass the legacies of the PDP. |
All they know is propaganda, election rigging/manipulations/using security to intimidate voters, hold on to power and chop money. |
May I ask what gives government officials like Lauretta Onochie the right to insult people and get away with it, while government sets security agents after those who insult them. Why would this woman openly call a serving senator a "buffoon" and be allowed to get away with it? |
At independence and several years thereafter the Nigerian national anthem had the words "though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand". Those born in the 80's and thereafter may not know those this anthem. In using the word brotherhood, our founding fathers sincerely thought that we could live as one nation irrespective of race, tribe or religion. Our present anthem contains "to serve our father land, in love and strength and faith". A lot of our legislators do not know the anthem, talk less of some students and illiterates. Serving with love, strength and faith has not been possible. Those who love their nation don't kill, destroy other peoples property or embezzle public funds. Unfortunately the only brotherhood that existed before 1960 and up till 1967 was among the founding fathers themselves. The Igbos decided to go their way but were forcefully made to remain in Nigeria. If we sincerely look at Nigeria today can we truly claim any form of "brotherhood"exists? The military kept this country in one piece as much as they could until 1999. Before that year tribalism, racism, religious crisis truly existed but not on the scale that we presently experience. With the way things are one can safely say that the Igbos were very right with their intention to have their own country. After 1999 it has become very difficult to continue living as a nation. Clearly we have seen northerners laying claim to power and wanting to perpetuate themselves in power. Among the northern tribes we have seen disagreements among the people regarding their co habitation. The country has never experience such level murders, mistrust and destruction of peoples property as we presently see. A herdsman moving around you is a sign of potential danger with that environment or community. The Southwest has showed clearly their hatred for the Igbos and are highly intolerant of the Igbos in their region. Infact as an Igbo when you try to rent an apartment, you either get an outright rejection or the bar for payment is raised higher for you. The Igbos themselves still want to leave. The Southwest cunningly and deliberately always support the north for power so that they can get a share of it and money. Yet just like you find in the north a lot of southwestern communities lack basic amenities. After handing over power they turn around to cry wolf. Now that herdsmen have invaded and taken over Southwestern highways and forests, the need for Amotekun has arisen. The same north that they supported have turned around to say Amotekun is a secessionist agenda. One is tempted to ask "if it is a secessionist agenda what is wrong with it"? But they say "birds of the same feather flock together". Truly speaking where are the birds of the same feather? For how long can we continue to live in deception? Among the campaign promises of the present leaders of this country before 2015 was restructuring. Even they themselves could not trust themselves on assumption of power to talk about the issue. The great Zik was quoted decades ago to have said "if the meeting cannot hold anam bem", meaning "if the meeting cannot hold I go back to my house". The signs are increasingly clear that this country has lost the words "unity", "love", "faith" and "brotherhood". The politicians seem to play the ostrich, pretending and trying to grab as much money as they can. Is it not time to go our separate ways? Must we be forced to remain together when we know that the relationship is no longer there? The old USSR broke up into several small countries and there is peace and respect today. The same way the Czechs went. A breakup would allow people of the same tribe, religion and common affiliation maintain their own brotherhood, love and peace. Invaders will not get into your capital, states or communities to kill your people, rape your women, damage properties and escape. Security can be better managed. Oil has been found in almost all the geo political zones of this country, including other natural resources. The countries can live in peace and managing themselves would be easier and less cumbersome. |
Truly we now know that some leaders do not understand leadership and power. All these while, in the struggle for supremacy and leadership of the party in Edo state, I have somehow found myself sentimentally following Obaseki and unfortunately believing that Oshiomole has been the trouble maker. Obaseki should remember the proverb that says "if pickin get 20 coins e dey be am like 20 days". The words of the governor can be described as a incitement of the youths and an open invitation to the youths to kill, steal and destroy. A governor should be a statesman and father to all. APC in Edo state is already in deep trouble with the factionalisation of the party. For me I sincerely hope the division continues until PDP repossesses the state. With all the moves of Obaseki, can he secure the ticket for the next term? I strongly believe that Oshiomole has put things in place to remove him. |
Inconclusively you could not conclude that the Fulani herdsmen first attacked. But you could conclusively conclude that youths attacked, killed Fulanis and destroyed their properties. Now we can also conclusively conclude that Fulani youths will be armed with AK47s to go and revengefully kill as many as they can. When will all the nonsense stop? |
Asquare84:I read it and understood it clearly. How would you swallow such claim hook, line and sinker, in this country where we live? How do you expect the federal government to initiate, complete and hand over as a "gift", a project valued at 5.9b? Surely conditions were clearly stated but with parties, beginning with the federal government failing to fulfil their parts. |
subtlemee:Chai see where owu keep you. Pray for yourself like this: power of carrying chikini money inside envelop to party leave me alone. |
APC will bring one thousand wives and sisters of their members in the 774 local governments as "rural women" to pick up for their homes only. |
Remember "an attack on boko haram is an attack on the north"? Who made the statement because of his quest for political power? |
Without electoral reforms we will always have square pegs in round holes. Unfortunately APC government may never sign it seeing the loophole to stay in power. With this kind of government, the only solution to peace is a breakup of the nation. |
