MadamExcellency: The factional Speaker should just declare all their seats vacant and tell them to go to court. That’s exactly what it will be. Unfortunately we have lawmakers who make laws and willfully break them on their own. How they came to the conclusion that PDP is factionalized at the center beggars belief. How also they know that their move will not result in the declaration of their seats vacant is unbelievable. Sometimes one wonders why all the stress about educational qualification with the lawmakers, when they use their positions to turn the law upside down. Hopefully they are booted out at the shortest possible time using the court. Aside from that, Wike make life harder for the people of Rivers state. I sincerely hope that his greed for power will not set the state on fire very soon. |

orisa37: JUST WATCH SHUAIBU/OBASEKI AND AIYEDATIWA/AKEREDOLU. IT'S ALL JEALOUSY AND INSUBORDINATION. No, it should not be. Some deputies have bigger statuses than their governors. Some play very critical roles to keep their principals in their positions. Of course the governors too must give honor to whom it is due, especially when they know that their deputies also eye the positions. In the case of Edo state, Shuaibu played a critical role to make him retain the seat. Infact Shuaibu was offered the ticket to compete against Obaseki at the second time, but Shuaibu refused. Granted that it is the turn of Edo central, Obaseki should have found ways to appease his deputy hun the first place. The battle was started by Obaseki himself. Even if Shuaibu may not win the ticket, the importance of opportunities permits him to try, and especially as it is an opportunity now. |

Creamypie: Last week, A man from Anambra came to buy land in asaba. When my agent friend showed him a plot in bonsaac, an area of almost 2/4/7 light that 95% of its residents are fellow Igbos (easterners) who relocated, bought lands and built houses, he changed his mind and requested land from inside asaba town, since its mostly Deltans that bought lands and built there. E get why Please stop the distasteful story. If the man from Anambra chose not to buy, why try Asaba as a whole when you are in another part of Igbo land? Or is Asaba no longer Igbo land? Without fellow Igbos from across river Niger, Delta Igbo speaking communities like Asaba, Igbuzor, Ogwashi would not have experienced the level of growth that they presently have. As of 1999, land in Asaba metropolis was at 75K and easier to purchase. Now people have focused on Okpanam, and neighboring communities, where properties are cheaper to purchase. As at that year, there was the cry that there were no longer lands in Asaba. Go and check those who owned the supermarkets, the electrical/electronics shops, building materials, etc. The same happened to Igbuzor, Ogwashi and Agbor. They brought in the capital and acquired properties. They all are in Igbo land. Asaba metropolis has largely been inhabited by Asaba people, who own their properties. Or you want to throw property owners out of their Ogbes? All those Umuagu, Umuaji, etc that you hear are areas inhabited by Asaba children or owners of Asaba. Where do you want them to leave their ancestral lands and relocate to? If you find any non Asaba person, know that the property was sold by an Asaba person and no one else. Note that you will be living in self deception if you fail to realize that Delta north as a whole is Igbo land. |

SoNature: The biggest beneficiaries of one Nigeria won't let that happen. To be clear, the biggest beneficiaries are the South West and Islamic North.
In the north, people are mostly agrarians. So, they don't directly benefit from the system. However, the the wealthy among them largely depend on politics and government appointments to get by. That's why they control a significant percentage of Niger Delta oil wells.
For the South West, Nigeria has made Lagos State one of the biggest economies in Africa. Now, the growth of Lagos is spilling over into neighbouring states, which is a win for the South West. When I saw Sunday Igboho calling for Oduduwa Republic, I just told myself that this one knows nothing.
Then, the Niger Delta states are the biggest losers. They feed the entire country and get nothing in return. If the resources of oil producing regions are left for them alone, they will be as rich as Qatar if properly managed. Oil-producing states are the reason Nigeria cannot be restructured because the fear is that they will be more powerful than the centre and that may lead to secession.
As for the South East, what the region has experienced is mostly being cut off from the centre and absence of federal presence. However, the region has also benefited from petrodollars. Although South East states have oil deposit, not as much as SS states. So, technically, the SE benefits from free money. To survive, Igbos are turning to education, sports, business/trades and travels. As for travel for greener pastures, that's why there's hardly anywhere you don't see an Igbo man. "...the region has benefitted from petrodollars." The region makes it contribution to the federation account from their own oil resources, do not forget. "..the SE benefits from free money..". Who gives the free money please? One of the reasons the SE will not be allowed to go, is the gas reserves, where you find the largest quantity in the federation. Gas holds the future. The north tries to control the natural resources. Where is the free money? If there was free money anywhere, why would the rest hold onto a section that has nothing to contribute to the center? Igbos are not turning to sports, etc as podited by you. The entire South hold on to education and sports. Please get to the SE physically before drawing your conclusion. |

How come the SE with the little population, now has the highest prevalence of hypertension? - We have been told that SEners reside in millions in other parts of the country. What’s happening in the regions where they, along with other tribes reside? - If those in the SE did not surrender themselves for checkup, how would they estimate the prevalence? - How many from other regions surrendered themselves for checkup. - Have you forgotten that there is a huge patronage of herbal medicines, obstructing people who believe, especially in the SW from going for medical checkups? - The north holds the highest population of Nigerians. Did they carry their nonsense survey into the hinterlands of the north where the large chunk of the population resides? - What has happened in the urban areas of the north and south where people have to struggle for buses, struggle to pay rents and school fees, struggle to put food on the table? Eko rice is locally produced. Eko rice is owned by the state government. Buhari under APC told us that rice would be cheaper. The same APC led Lagos state has pegged the price of rice at 43k. Maybe they do not even know that a bag of the same locally made rice is 40k. If there is a plan to reduce the cost of food among other essentials, why is Eko pegged at 43K?
Truly the poor man cannot dream of rice. One cup of rice goes for between 800 naira and 1050 naira.

Pakute: It is a fact that Ibo girls outnumber ibo boys in school. The boys mostly come through the apprentice system, hundreds of ibo boys are being picked up by uncles to the cities to serve them. It means that girls in iboland stayed back in school eventhough they regarded education of women as a waste of time and money, since the young girls will soon marry and leave the family. Female education was not considered important, today, however, there is a preponderance of ibo girls at school who currently far outnumber the boys both secondary and tertiary institutions as more and more ibo boys drop out of school. With the tide forcing many families to send their girl child to school, the parents would rather get back the monies spent on her since she is not considered a part of the family when she eventually leave for her husband's house, unlike the male child, she brings no value once she's gone. Bride price in iboland is calculated based on how they spent on her education and expected the husband for recompense. To call you ode dey hungry me. “Igbo girls outnumber Igbo boys”? Is it not obvious they have used his Glory that's why he is prostrating flat about for Davido and said he will die the same day with Davido? You must be very young and inexperienced. Please talk more reasonably. Davido’s father is termed extremely wealthy. His father’s brothers, include the present governor and the deceased former governor Isiaka are termed very wealthy. Davido was born into a very wealthy home. Davido went his way stating that he did not want to live off the wealth of his father and he was highly favored. The rest became history. Ask yourself how long ago Israel started to associate with Davido. Who needs to be washed with wealth between Davido and DMX? Think before you wrongly draw conclusions and confuse others. The wife is a critical stakeholder in the house. This is an entirely different case. Read clearly and understand what they disagreed over. Lastly please listen, watch and think well before dabbling in matters that you cannot properly talk about. |
