djon78:keep deluding yourself. you contradict yourself, on the one hand you say the leaders are the ones that are responsible for change but you say they like the status quo....and yet you fail to connect the dots! why dont they care? because you have shown you dont care for yourself. To win an election you ask me for money, why should I work for you when I get there? ... you have sold your right to demand accountability from them. the Singapore or South Korea you talk about, go and investigate their citizens dont bahave like Nigerians. This thing is a contract, you do your part as citizens then the leaders are oblidged to work on your behalf but you want to engage in bufoonery and expect mannah from leaders...it doesnt work that way. The only reason anyone will uplift you in any aspect of life is you demonstrating you desire the uplift, will not abuse the opportunity and you ready to pay the price for the uplift. AKA you care about yourself, so i will care about you. The political elites will only help the citizens when the citizens themselves have shown they desire a good country and are willing to sacrifice. Nobody is going to create jobs for you if you prefer imported products because in the end they will go bankrupt. Nobody is going to create a good system schools hospitals etc if the citizens do not want to play their part and pay taxes. People will tell you about Awo and free education, what they wont tell you is that farmers, market women etc paid taxes, go and verify it wasnt all cocoa money. if as a poor man you think you have a right to eat imported rice, bread made with imported flour, imported tomato paste etc etc with scarce forex when we have local manufacturers that can manufacture these things and create local jobs if you patronise them, then you are not serious and the leaders see you are not serious so they take care of themselves and leave you to your fate. When you are serious you will demonstrate it by your actions. I give you another example of why the rich don’t help the poor in Nigeria, you don’t earn much, you spend all your time in Holy Ghost crusades, the small you have, you give to pastors to ride in rolls Royce and PJs, then you come to a rich man for money, he knows where his money is going, you think he will help you?…then you will come and say he is wicked when he says no. Nobody who works hard to get to the top throws his money away, even the Peter Obi donating money up and down is not doing it entirely for charity, he is doing it wi5 his eye on 2027. If you don’t value your own little money, you can’t value mine so I won’t give you. If he does give you money out of sentiment he will only give you a pittance whereas if you had shown him you were enterprising and serious about your life, have a dilligent attitude, he could finance the capital for a business that can change your life…again it is not anyone’s business to care for you more than you care for yourself. |

PDPdestroyer:Leave him. He has the mentality of an Obidient or IPOB who can’t engage their brains and can’t handle uncomfortable truths. No tribe is devoid of bufooons and buffoonery. We are telling him the future but he can’t see beyond his nose, tomorrow when he can’t point to his grandfathers house or he finds that outsiders have taken over government he will start rioting and burning. We know his type, the ones that will sell his father's house for a few pieces of silver. He is the I have a right to contest type like Osinbajo Fayemi and Bakare that almost handed power to the North. Like I said if not for the fact that there are more sensible people in the north who understand politics and the need to hand power to the SW…….. |
codemaniacs:If it pleases you to believe I am not Yoruba fine, is my message any false if I am not Yoruba? |
codemaniacs:Oga you see this our so called education, rationality,” does it make sense” mentality and too much logic is why the Yoruba nation is under siege. In 30 years maximum the ibos will determine who becomes governor in Lagos. We never learn. Telling a thief that you have no right to burgle your house does not mean you don’t have a duty to secure your house. Our problem is too much sense, too much logic, too much liberalism, did you see the votes they gave Obi in the SE….the same people who were insulting him when he was governor? Stay there and be asking if it makes sense. A thief will do what a thief does, it’s your duty to makes sure he can’t steal from you at at least to make it difficult.. I heard a story that I wish I could share publicly. It tells you we yorubas are our own problem sometimes. |
codemaniacs:It gave the excuse. When someone wants to burn you, you don’t provide the match and the petrol. Hence lessons to be learnt. Everybody has something to learn, the likes of Osinbajo, Fayemi and Bakare clearly did not learn and if not for the North who are better students of history and politics than we in the south, a Yoruba man will not be president today. |
codemaniacs:Every region played its part which is why it is a Nigerian thing. The yorubas played their part in the conflicts of ego, cult of personality inability to agree to disagree and respect differences that gave an excuse for a coup which almost repeated itself with Osinabajo/Tinubu. The ibos played their part as you said and the north who held on to resources of others are the ones now championing restructuring because all it has done is impoverish them. So it’s a Nigerian problem. We are all reminiscing with nostalgia to a period when things worked but failed because we are Nigerians. The problem wasn’t the system then, nor is it the system now, the problem is our insincerity as Nigerians….all of us! We never go back to look at where we went wrong and our roles but instead feel changing lanes with solve anything. He who is not a student of history is condemned to repeat the mistakes of the past. Nigerians never learn because they forget history and repeat the same mistakes. |
Shikena:You exemplify why I am an advocate for teaching Nigerians in their native languages. Read my posts again 10 times if need be of English is a problem. Your issues have been addressed. I told you I am done please stop disturbing me with mentions. |
Shikena:Exactly why I said it seems you have no idea what you are talking about and clearly an inability to read and comprehend. If resource control and derivation is not a fundamental part of the change then what do you acheive? How is it similar to what we had 1960-66? Parliamentary system in name only just like we have presidential system in name only? Is it that you do not understand that these 2 pillars were the anchor and foundations of the progress of the 1960-66 era of which we are now nostalgic? With due respect, I am getting irritated now. I engage on Nairaland to enlighten, sometimes it’s not the person I am engaging that gets enlightened many read without commenting. I think I have spelt out the issues in plain English. I am done on this topic. I am not interested in people happy to change lanes to appear to do something while ultimately going nowhere! |
Shikena:When people know more than you and try to educate you best not to insult them else they don’t waste their time and you remain uninformed. Under a parliamentary military or presidential system, you can agree who owns what resources and how much goes to the center. Again it has nothing to do with the system of government. We can decide to revert to the old 50% they can do it today without changing the system from presidential to parliamentary. To think otherwise means you don’t know what is involved and the subject matter. We can revert to a parliamentary system and the Oil in Ogoni land will still belong to federal govt and they still get on 13%. like I have told you for the umpteenth time, they are 2 different issues. In the same way it was 20% under a presidential system in 1979 and it is 13% under a presidential system post 1999, so also the same presidential system can increase it to the 50% it was in 1960. Furthermore, the real issue apart of derivation is who owns the resources. Changing to a parliamentary system does not automatically mean Rivers state owns the oil under it. We are not practicing true federalism under the presidential system. We can achieve the same effect of the days of regional government by simply removing oil and other minerals from the exclusive list and increasing derivation to 50%. Don’t let people deceive you with parliamentary system if those 2 things do not change and trust me they won’t change. The real issue are derivation and exclusive lists not the system of government...both can be achieved under a presidential system. Like I have said before system of government does not matter if the actors are the same insecure actors…..in typical Nigerian fashion, you will come back in 25 years saying you want the old presidential system back. Anything else is just changing lanes in traffic going nowhere! We got a presidential system without true federalism, what makes you think because they revert to a parliamentary system it will be the same as it was. During the regional days? The devil is in the detail…who owns what resources and what percentage do you keep….that is what should concern you if you want a return to the glory days of 1960-66 not what type of government.
|
Shikena:Like I said type of government is different from resource control. You are confusing both. What regions and states control changed many times during region Al government and during the presidential system. You don’t need parliamentary system to give states control of their resources. 1960-1966 worked because of resource control. What is being proposed not resource control just a change of system of government to parliamentary. Again use the analogy of Nigerians in traffic, your problem is you are in traffic not the lane you are on. |
Shikena:My friend cost of governance is not the problem, a country like Nigeria with a GDP of $500b, Should generate revenue of $100b as a minimum. How much do we generate? Our 2024 budget was N27T based on a rate of 800:1 so approx $35b. And we are borrowing to fund it because the revenue is not enough. That is where the problem is, why is it that a country with a GDP has to borrow to fund a pittance of a budget of a mere $35b? Let us say cost of governance is $3b ( this is a guess). It only seems big because our budget is $35b. If our budget was $60b, it wouldn’t matter. Furthermore there is a minimum level of government spending, there is only so much you can cut. In my hypothetical $3b cost of govt (BTW I doubt it is up to this and don’t forget we are talking about the cost of the presidential system and parliament) not the civil service etc, the most you will save with all the cost cutting in the world if you are lucky is $500m! So the problem is not spending but revenue. |
Shikena:My friend the cost of governance is not the problem, the problem is why states are not generating the revenue corresponding to their potential? If states were generating the revenue corresponding to all the natural resources we hear about, a portion of that would go to the center and cost of governance would not be an issue. Secondly, is a parliamentary system going to stop the parliamentarians from buying exotic imported jeeps and all the costs of office they currently enjoy? Are they not still going to be in Abuja? What happens to state governments? Like I said the cost of government is not the problem, the problem is our revenue is too low for our GDP. Don’t get me wrong I am neither and advocate for parliamentary system or Presidential system. I just believe insincere actors in either system will fail and sincere actors in either system will work. My issue is the actors are insincere so it matters not what system we practice. Lastly you are confusing parliamentary system with resource control. Parliamentary system has nothing to do with resource control. You can achieve true federalism and resource control in a presidential system. We don’t need a parliamentary system to revert the issue of resources to the same state it was under regional government, after all it is under this same presidential system that derivation was increased Have we implemented the Federal presidential system the way it is supposed to be implemented? Does Osun control its mines, does Enugu control its coal, does Zamfara control its gold? Does the money from Dangote cement go to Kogi or Ogun? If I allow you to mine the resources of my state who gets the money, state or federal, therefore what is the incentive for me as a state to allow my resources to be tapped? These are the real issues and it has nothing to do with presidential or parliamentary system. If you want the Zamfara state governor for example to turn his state into a behive of mining and exploration simple amend the current derivation laws to 50% which can be done under current the presidential system. |
Shikena:Stories of politics from any of those eras. It’s always the same thing. The psyche of the Nigerian can be seen whenever you are in traffic. We always try to change lanes multiple times just to advance 1 car length only to find that the lane you were on is moving “faster” and so another attempt to change lanes, rinse repeat. In the end it does not really advance the cause as in the process we have a fender bender and make the traffic worse for everybody. The Nigerian must always do something because we are more concerned with appearing to do something for doing sake but we don’t face the real issues which in the case of the man in traffic is simply you are in traffic and if everyone is patient, we’ll all get out of it faster but there are always some impatient people that end up making the traffic worse aka longer for everybody. These are the change the system people! |
Shikena:Read our history. If you read the accounts of things that happened pre independence and read the accounts of things that happened post independence in the 1st republic, you will be shocked……It’s like you are in 2024 and you never went back in time! Please try to find old newspapers from the 50s, 60s and 70s, if you remove the dates you will think you are reading stories from 2023. We can’t run away from ourselves…that the real issue. |
Nigerians like running around in circles avoiding the real issues. When we had parliamentary system we failed, we tried presidential, it has failed…what is the common denominator…..Nigerians! Every time we have an election they want to amen the electoral act, we have one of the best in the world but they still want to amend, what is the common denominator….Nigerians. We have all sorts of laws but the country does not work, what is the common denominator……Nigerians! We had regional government, the same people who abolished it are the ones calling to regional government 60 yrs later. We had secession clause, the same people that opposed it are the ones calling for referendum. We can a,mend laws and systems all we like but we can’trun away from ourselves. When we are ready to deal with our real issues…..our Nigerian traits, our Pysche, they should let us know. |
djon78:I wasn’t going to respond to you but I am for the benefit of others who may be sensible and are reading this. The reason the western world makes progress and blacks every where be it in the diaspora or Africa do not is that here the poor elevate worship and defend their oppressors while the poor white man looks after his interests first causing the rich and those with power and influence to take them seriously. Like I said in the beginning: It is not in my interest to care more about you than you have shown to care about yourself. No matter how much I want you to do well ( this applies to individuals and communities or countries) if my desire for your progress is greater than your desire for your progress, you will end up wasting my time energies and resources. The black man worships a fellow black or tribesman irrespective of his failings and will defend him with everything because he is rich or successful and from his tribe. By doing this you give no incentive to him to do anything for you or to do the right thing. When you show him that your own interests matter more to you than his interests, that is when he will use his power and influence to work for your advancement. I may have money that can help you but I will not deploy it to help you unless I see your desire and effort to uplift yourself because I worked hard to get the money and people who work for their success understand the attributes of success and failure and do not waste their time or effort. You can liken it to a drug addict or a gambler, you can only help them when they haves reached rock bottom and have decided enough is enough, any effort you make until them is a waste of your resources and done out of emotion and not rational. This is the plight of the Nigerian and indeed most blacks. I am not going to help you create jobs while you celebrate a man who destroys local jobs, or continue poor as you are to maintain a taste for foreign products. It is your habits that will inform those who can help you that you are serious and his efforts will not be in vain. So if you like continue to worship Obi who imports things that can be produced here, destroys factories and local jobs, continue to patronize foreign goods, foreign companies and think any sensible Nigerian is going to risk his investment at the risk of going bankrupt to create factories and jobs knowing the people will opt for foreign goods. In the west if a company tries to move jobs overseas the people will boycott their products but here some daft idiot will come and say the quality of the product is inferior so they prefer the imported products that exports jobs overseas and destroys local jobs. When you longer have a job you will say how you plan to buy the imported product. Someone mentioned the quality of erisco tomato paste as a justification for preferring foreign products. The first batch of INNOSON cars just like all Chinese cars were very poor, as patronage increased they improved their quality, now Chinese cars are competing with European cars in Europe and you can see that the latest innoson products are better! It was the patronage of Chinese cars by local Chinese that have them the volume and market share to improve their quality. If you are old enough you may remmember how crap Hyundai was when they started…they were a joke. I am old enough to remember when LG started, at the time they were called LuckyGoldstar their products were so inferior only the very poor bought them. Today they have destroyed Sony, Panasonic, hitachi, Toshiba, Grundig, Phillips and all the former electronics giants. How did they start?….through local patronage despite the inferior quality. You may continue with your insults and abuse but hopefully some will learn from this. most people who set up factories or job creating enterprises do so at great financial risk, many can go bankrupt if it fails. Apart from the financial incentive, many do so to make an impact on society and this is the part that is relevant to this discussion. Why would Anyone take on great financial risk to create jobs and develop society, when the people will not patronize the product because they prefer imports? Why should anyone take financial risks to create jobs for you when you prefer imported products that create jobs elsewhere? I hope you can see what I mean when I say You cannot care more for people than they care for themselves. If in your choices as a consumer you do not put a preference on those who create and protect jobs in Nigeria, use Nigerian raw materials, then nobody is going to embark on a money making venture that creates Nigerian jobs when they can make money importing like Peter Obi. When Nigerian masses start to act like they care about themselves and patronize and elevate those who Crete jobs and value here in Nigeria, people who can help with show up. Until then continue to support the man who destroys your jobs and expect a messiah from heaven to come and create jobs for you. |
djon78:If you know how Nigerian bank owners really make money you will not mention Obi as a bank owner. Like I said Nigerians love their oppressors. |
Dangrace01:another thing i should mention is that while having a FDR or CVR is not compulsory. it could be an indication as to the professionalism of the pilots. When you know what happens in the cockpit is recorded (both your flight inputs and voice recordings) you are less likely as a pilot to cut corners. |
jmoore:Like I said we all eventually have the emotion of Nigeria lifted from our eyes and realize the people we are fighting for are not worth fighting for and deserve the country they get. If as a governor for 8 yrs he did the right thing, he won’t need to make donations to schools. If a system cannot sustain itself after you left office, you have failed as a leader. Like I said Stockholm syndrome! Awolowo created an educational system in the west that delivered quality education despite successive bad governments. It took more than 4 decades for the 1st cracks to appear in the education system he designed….he was only in power for 7 years! Awolowo never had to make a personal donation to any school because he designed a good system. His praise came from the legacy of the educational system he designed not by donating money. Money that Obi derived from destroying jobs and other dodgy financial transactions. |
DEBJOCH1:Don’t be so daft. I am in Nigeria because I grew up in Nigeria and this is home to me. I am in Nigeria because I want to be and negotiated to be. Officially I am based in Ghana because that is where technically my office is. The reason why I talk, post and try to educate people is because if Nigeria goes down, it affects me also, I stated that already in my post. I am simply saying that personally from a strictly financial point of view I am not affected. No matter how financially secure I or anyone is, if the rest of society are not it affects us..it is basic enlightened self interest. If the roads are unsafe it affects me, if my driver can’t feed his children it affects me, if my driver cannot afford soap and stinks up the car with body odor it affects me, if my driver is sick and cannot take care of himself, we share the same small airconditioned space, he can pass his disease to me. However I cannot cry more than the bereaved. If you are suffering and you still insist on defending your oppressors, that’s your problem not mine. Last last I carry my family and I move to Ghana or the Uk. The point is if Nigeria goes down it affects us all but it will affect some people more than others. You all can insult me all you like, I have options, I hope you do too. If anyone should be thinking with a clear head it should be the man trapped in Nigeria without options. |
jmoore:There is a fundamental law of life that everyone with some measure of intellect eventually learns….I cannot care more about you that you do about yourself. This is the reason we get the kind of leadership we get and why good people do not venture into government. That’s why when you see someone in government or politics in Nigeria, there are usually crooks or end up as crooks. Good people are not going to stress themselves to fight the old establishment and at the same time battle the same people they are trying to uplift. Good People eventually realize that in Nigeria, the people you are fighting for are the ones fighting you so you either stay away from public service or you go there to steal. People like you is the reason Nigeria is a mess. People with a poverty mindset and slaves to their oppressors. People whose jobs are taken away by their oppressors but defend and fight for their oppressors because they made a token donation, dash them money, are from their tribe or religion. The minute you care for someone more than they care for themselves is the minute you should walk away because that person will kill you and waste all your efforts. If you have any brains you will ponder on what I just wrote. Example: good education is not cheap, we say we need to increase fees to deliver education that can deliver good jobs for the masses, you protest. Eventually I say ok no problem if that is what you want, I send my own children to good schools abroad and you graduate with worthless degrees and end up an Uber driver if you are lucky. Eventually you complain that it is the children of the elite that get the best jobs. When we told you this is the plan to enable the child of the masses to get good education, you protested because it required some sacrifice and discomfort on your part. The Nigerian story is littered with such examples. I can try to educate and enlighten you but if you do not care about yourself then it’s not my business to care about you. This is what we witness everyday in all aspects of public life. The people don’t care about themselves so why should leaders care about you, why provide jobs, good roads and good schools when it is clear you don’t care about yourselves? This is in a perverse way one reason Buhari created the mess he created. If he did the right things, you are the same people that will protest, Jonathan tried to remove subsidy we protested. No matter the leader, no matter how well intentioned, they all get to power and realize the people they are fighting for are the ones fighting them and eventually they fall into “this life I can’t kill myself mode” and Nigerians are not worth the stress. The day you wake up and make it known by your thoughts and actions, by what you tolerate and what you won’t tolerate, that you value yourselves more than you value big men, big men and our leaders will start to take you seriously. If you are worshiping and celebrating the man who killed many manufacturers and killed many jobs instead of stoning him, why should I as a governor or president waste my energies trying to create jobs for you? Why should I care about your jobs more than you? Subsidy thieves, government looters, job destroyers, forex round trippers, across party tribal and religious lines you will celebrate and defend them with all you have and you expect people who have good intentions to enter government and work for your benefit? Who does that? This is why we have the kind of leaders we have, the saying is a country gets the kind of leadership it deserves!, You show why Nigeria is Nigeria. Neither Atiku or Tinubu or Obi are going to kill themselves for you. The most they can do is offer a plan and a way forward. They will work only to the extent you as citizens show genuine care for yourselves. At this stage everybody has to sacrifice, you have to sacrifice more because you have more to lose and more to gain but if you feel you cannot sacrifice it is ok. The only difference is they have options you don’t! Generations of the Atiku, Obi and Tinubu families will be ok irrespective of what happens to Nigeria, you are not sure you will make it to the next generation……who has more to lose? Who should therefore be fighting with a clear mind as to what is at stake to have the best leadership possible? |
Theevilone:educate yourself. please i beg you educate yourself! i dont eat canned tomatoes because it contains additives, generally i avoid processed foods. but to come here and say Erisco does not contain tomatoes is just......words fail me!!! in any event have you checked the ingredients in tomato ketchup? if 2 manufacturers are making chemically infested foods, is it still not better that it is made in Nigeria with jobs for Nigerians and no stress on our forex than for it to be made abroad, with jobs and taxes to foreigners? Look, while we are talking about foods, Instant noodles is one of the most dangerous foods anyone can consume. I have never eaten it but it is manufactured here and thousands of jobs are created here. is it not better it is manufactured here than to add insult to injury of not only selling unhealthy foods to the masses, creating the jobs abroad and stressing our forex? stay focussed!! |
VeryWickedMan:can you imagine what the child of this woman would have to deal with from friends growing up? |
jmoore:if you dont change your mindset, you and your generations will remain poor i am not cursing or abusing. Like I said earlier, poverty is a mindset poverty starts and ends in the mind. A man can never rise above the level of his thinking. We are discusing simple economics, cause and effect and in every post all you can talk about is politics. That is your mindset, the mindset of poverty, it is not village people, it is not generational curses, it is all about the mindset. you have the mindset of a poor man. it is people like you than come on nairaland asking questions like I have N5m which country can i go? People like that will be poor or mediocre whichever country they are. Successful people will ask what legit business can i do in Nigeria to turn my N5m to N10m to N20M etc. The difference between a broke man and a poor man is is mindset...remember that! If you exhibit the mindset of a poor man even people that can help you wont want to help you because they will recognise they are wasting their time. Life lesson: be careful you dont exhibit your poverty mindset in the presence of people who can change your destiny, better still eradicate your poverty mentality. |
jmoore:thats the reason i try to educate ignoramuses like you. because even if i am doing ok, if the society collapses then even if I am personally comfortable it affects me. unfortunately it is the same people who need to be educated about the folly of their ways that are the very people who refuse to listen. A man who makes his fortune from round tripping is a man you stone not a main you hail, a man who makes his money from destroying the factories that provided jobs for your people is a not a man you hail but a man you stone! The irony of the poor is that they think poor and that is why they remain poor. The man who put you in poverty by destroying the jobs which gave you dignity will give you crumbs from the money he made by mortgaging your future and you because you have the mindset of a poor man will go to the town square telling everyone he is a generous man...too daft to figure out that the business this man engages in is the reason you dont have a job!! and when those who truly want to help you by teaching you how to think try to you insult them......This is the story of Nigeria. poverty is a state of mind, being poor starts and ends with the way you think!! |
jmoore:I live in Nigeria but I am not paid in Naira. It makes no difference to me what the level of the Naira is, it actually benefits me whenever the Naira falls because I get more Naira for my dollar. It is people like you who earn in Naira that suffer the most unfortunately it is the same people like you that stand to benefit the most from the truths I am telling you that refuse to listen. When petrol was N165 a liter, my $1 would buy 2.5 liters @ N400 to $1. Now petrol is N600 a liter, my same $1 is now N1500 and I still buy 2.5 liters for the same $1. I am paying less for electricity than I was paying 8 months ago, I doubled the Naira salaries of my staff and yet I am paying them less In $ than I paid them 8 months ago, I am not the one suffering. If you like listen if you like don’t, it is you suffering the consequences of the stockhol syndrome hold your true oppressors have over you not me. The more the Naira falls the better for me the worse for you. We all suffer because we all pay the price of the poverty in the land..insecurity etc But as a society, it is people like Obi that are killing the Naira. If you like listen, if you like continue to worship your oppressors. If things get too bad security wise etc, I would not want to but I simply dust my British passport and move out. You neither earn in forex or have a foreign passport and you are the very people that worship the people who are the root cause of your problems!! |
jmoore:People like you deserve the suffering you are witnessing. The very people who are the reason you can’t get a decent job because they survive on destroying a Nigerian jobs are the people you worship. The people who own banks to make money from round tripping our forex and the people whose businesses are based on delepeting our forex for items we can produce locally. Erisco has a tomato factory, Nigerian farmers sell to him, he manufactures tomato paste here in Nigeria, he provides jobs in Nigeria, he does not use forex to produce the products he manufactures and sells but Obi imports ketchup, the tomatoes are made by farmers abroad, the jobs at the ketchup factory are abroad. But you will tell us you have brains. |
Jokerman:Who owned the money found in the boot of his car? Who sent MD of fidelity bank to collect Dasuki money from Diezani? |
mrvitalis:by destroying local manufacturers exporting jobs abroad importing cheap imported goods while shouting consumption to production. the man produces nothing yet there is hardly a day you dont consume a product imported by peter Obi, from toothpicks to ketchup to vegetable oil to cereals to biscuits, all things that can be produced in Nigeria. |
Neoteny:My friend I am not arguing with you anymore. I have told you I have witnessed this many times on a 7x, I have googled to confirm, I asked you to google to confirm. I am not one who argues when I am wrong, as you can see I acknowledged my slight error on ATC during climb. But it seems you might be one of those nairalanders who are not here to exchange knowledge and learn and re-educate themselves when they are wrong but just to argue for arguing sake because their egos cannot take them being wrong. If that is the case, if you have indeed googled and you are still here arguing, then good bye….this conversation has past it’s sell by date! |
Neoteny:I suggest you make use of google and ask the simple question “can autopilot be engaged during climb?” Below is In reference to an A320: “Autopilot can be engaged at 100 ft above ground or 5 seconds after takeoff, whichever is later.” BTW while I acknowledge you have some knowledge as opposed to the ignoramus who I initially engaged which is why I have responded with respect, it is clear at least on this matter that I have gained more knowledge by watching from the cockpit in a real plane that you have gained from your flight simulators because on this you are 100% wrong. I acknowledged previously that you were right about ATC. Instructions but it is still the autopilot doing the flying unless a pilot deliberately wishes to fly manually to keep himself fresh.
