naptu2:Possibly |
DatNaijaGuy:I didn’t know that. It used to be 999 when I was young. |
It disgusts me that we have to get approval to spend our own money to patronize their industries. Black Man Don suffer |
This is why we don’t develop as a nation. Every state creating there own emergency numbers. Emergency numbers should be the same all over the country. The mobile operator will then route your call to the right service based on the location of your base station. If you are in sapele it knows you are in Edo state and directs your call to Edo state emergency service. If you are in ilesha, you dial the same number and it will route your call to the Oyo state emergency service if they have one. |
noobody:I’m just allergic to m0r0ns |
noobody:Sometimes the only language people like you understand is the langauge of insults. Over 5 quotes and requotes and I keep saying the same thing currency is a reflection. If demand and supply. However in every quote you keep wanting to drag it into something else. Let your thick retarded brain understand this: whether it is human hair or shopping on Ali express. If your demand for foreign goods outweigh your supply of forex, your currency will continue to drift lower till it gets to a point of equilibrium when either supply of forex increases or there is demand destruction. If you post like someone with a brain, you wo t be insulted. But if I tell you the same thing 5times and you keep responding g to me, surely at some point you will get an insult for disturbing my peace. |
noobody:Typical retarded Nigerian. Getting bogged down with trivialities and avoiding the real issues. |
system21:I am sure your post made sense to you when you typed it. |
noobody:My friend you quoted me. I responded to someone else and you quoted me. I said the problem is the demand for Naira is more than supply and so long as we continue our love for foreign goods, it will continue to slide because we no longer have the ability to defend the Naira. I gave the example of human hair, it could have been anything else, we import everything, I merely quoted human hair because we have CBN figures for how much was spent importing human hair through official channels. Instead of you to focus on the point which is that we don’t produce anything the world wants and exchange rate is determined by demand and supply. you start focusing on the example. Like I said you are being pedantic. |

Read the comments here and you will understand why no one will work with LP. If you don’t do what they want or agree with them, they hit you with abuse and insults. |
noobody:I think you are being pedantic |
noobody:If you want to get into a slinging match you will miss the point. Economics 101 is demand and supply. More demand than supply, price goes up. More supply than demand price goes down. We produce nothing and import everything. Naira will continue to fall till it gets to a point where supply matches demand. Like it or not that’s the reality of economics. |
noobody:That is the problem! Human hair is symbolic of the problem. We consume too many imported goods and we produce vey little for export. The Naira will continue to fall until it gets to a point where the demand for forex matches the supply of forex. Since the supply is limited, the only thing that can halt the decline is for the dollar to become too prohibitive, causing demand destruction. Alternatively, we increase the supply and right now the only way that can happen is to increase oil production…very unlikely in the short term. |
mctfopt:This is what we call price discovery…the process of finding the true value of the Naira. Unfortunately we have been living a false life for decades, with fuel subsidy, reduced oil production and defending the Naira at a propped up level with the few forex reserves we had. Our women spend $750m a year on imported artificial hair, how much forex do we get in a year that we spent $750m importing hair? What is so special about fake hair that we cannot manufacture it here? We export nothing besides oil and that oil production has declined. |
Love800:Nigeria is one of the few places I have lived where for most products, if your costs go up, you increase your prices and people will still buy. Most other climes, they fear increasing prices so the business will absorb the loss until they can’t anymore or look for how to cut down other costs but contrary to popular belief Nigeria is not really a competitive environment and consumers are very docile. They complain but they will pay, if they don’t buy someone else will buy. . So if you have capital in Nigeria and can’t make money something is wrong with you. |
Love800:like i said people like you make nothing of themselves wherever they are. are you the only one, is it not this same Nigeria others start from scratch and become extremely succesful? government no dey for them too? you are weak and entitled...thats your problem....you want success handed to you on a platter. Please japa, some people need experience real suffering before they get sense..... yeye dey smell gerrrout of here!!! Esemes256 suggested poultry business and immediately you were making excuses about cost of feed. Somebody who is serious will ask how profitable it is, how to start etc, you were already looking for reasons why it won’t work based on rumors you heard. Let me tell you something, a business man may tell you his costs have gone up but he won’t tell you his prices have also gone up…so he is still making money. Somebody who is serious will ask if costs of feed are going up are they closing down..are people not eating eggs anymore? because if they are not closing down and people are still eating eggs then they are still making money despite increased cost of feed but you with your defeatist mindset see the negative and decide best thing for you is to japa to clean piss abroad. That’s your problem. You are mentally lazy, you are entitled and you don’t want to work. The work you don’t want to do here you will do 10 times the work abroad because over there they get their money out of you...no food for lazy man and if you don’t want to work abroad you will end up a male prostitute or in jail. Your problem is your mindset not Nigeria. |
Love800:Your problem is you! Others are making it In Nigeria, do they have 2 heads? You people are too entitled and mentally lazy! The suffer you don’t want to suffer to make it in Nigeria, I promise you you will suffer more only to just exist abroad. Hardship is part of life. People work hard to overcome. The problem is you are mentally lazy and entitled. The hardship you are running away from here you will meet a different kind abroad. |
Love800:You think going to Canada or any other country has no risk or is guaranteed success? I have no sympathy for someone who has N5m and wants to japa because of hardship. Such a person will not amount to much wherever they are. For such a person, their problem is not Nigeria but their sense of entitlement and laziness! I will share below a snapshot of a post by dangote’s cousin on Twitter in response to what someone who has 500k can do. You have 5m and it is japa you are thinking of? When you get to London or Canada and are cleaning the piss of old ladies or your friends at the nightclub toilet, you will remember you had 5m in capital but decided to become a cleaner abroad.

ZombidiotFools:Lagos Ibadan express lagos ibadan rail Murtala airport new terminal apapa-oworonshoki express Outer marina ring road this is just the SW, these things were going nowhere and they were a source of pain and hardship before Buhari. feel free to list what GEJ left behind for you, otherwise the only legacy he has for your children is stories from you about once upon a time the naira. Your story and those talking with Nostalgia about Jonathan are like children berating their father for not buying them the latest clothes and toys as children Forgetting that your parent gave you the most valuable gift….education. It is that education that is the legacy of your parents not clothes or toys that spoil or become obsolete. Anyone talking about Jonathan has the mindset of a child who cannot see beyond their nose or the present. An adult sees beyond today into the future. These adults with a mind of a child are often the same people who think a Peter Obi that left nothing in 8 years as Anambra governor can rescue a more complex structure like Nigeria.......children!! |
a better question is what business can i do in Nigeria with 5M? |
ZombidiotFools:Buhari failed on the economy...ther is no argument on that but he left lasting infrastructure that your grandchildren will use. Ok so currency was relatively stable under GEJ but please tell me after you enjoyed 8 years of stable currency what do you have to show for it that you can enjoy today or that your children can enjoy tommow? Enduring legacy is the true hallmark of a good leader, not how I enjoyed for 8 years but what did you leave for me to enjoy after you leave office? |
PassingShot:Firstly let me state that I am a fan of Buhari. I didnt vote for him precisely because i was around when he was head of state and I knew he has no clue on the economy and the anti-corruption war cannot be won when you consider those who brought him to power....I didnt vote for Jonathan either. Now this video is revisionist. Buhari was short term in his thinking and instead created a bigger long term problem. We are where we are because he did not do the needful. If he had floated the currency, we wouldnt have borrowed so much during his tenure. Buhari a former petroleum minister, spent almost $10b a year on subsidy for 8 years and failed to build a single refinery. I am a fan of Buhari, despite his flaws, no other president has left behind the infrastructure he did but his myopia on the economy is the same myopia he exhibited in 1983. the problem we are facing now is because Buhari did not float the Naira, remove subsidies and build a single refinery in 8 years in office. If he had we would have endured the pain and the pain would be over now. |
joseph1832:Everywhere we go we exhibit the same character that has killed our country. We always blame leaders but we forget the leaders come from amongst us with the same character. |
I can’t believe punch newspapers has sunk so low as to print this pile of garbage! The same punch, punch of Aboderin. Nigeria is truly finished! |
SisterAnn:you and Obi are the ones who constantly forget to take their drugs. 1. Obi cannot become president of the country no matter how hard he tries. 2) his method of trying to be president will always backfire on him because he will only alienate the very people whose votes he needs with his fake methods. The votes he needs are those of the SW and the muslim North, or PDP votes. Every step he makes puts him further away from those votes. He is applying an ibo mindset to the votes of Yorubas and Northerners. He didnt have to work for the ibo votes or the youth votes, so he has not had to learn what it takes to earn votes, how to understand the mind of the people whose votes you need. All this his fake propaganda up and down....ko le work. The average yoruba man sees you commenting and trying to appear sympathetic on disasters and unfortunate events in the SW but when it happens in the SE you keep quiet, so we know its all fake and so he wont get our votes. When you throw someone you call your leader under the bus, abandon him at his hour of need, betray everyone in your political past, leak private conversations, we know you cant be trusted....we are not fools. Everyday he shows himself to be a man without honour, we do not like people without honour. if you truly understand the yoruba man, you will understand the emphasis we place on "iwa" or character. He can talk the talk but you cant hide your character or behaviour. In yoruba land we say "efin ni iwa"....character is like smoke...you cant hide it , it comes out eventually. I have said it many times, the next 4 years will destroy Obi because of his constant need to hug the headlines. The more he hugs the headlines, the more he reveals his true character. He gained momentum in the last election because there was not enough time to truly examine the man. Many of the non-ibos who supported him will turn their backs on him in the next 4 years just watch. The more he opens his mouth, the more he hugs the headlines, the more he exposes himself. many Ibos wont understand what I am saying because most of them support him because he is ibo, so from the onset their support is emotional and not rational. |
heji:I am not a PDP or Atiku supporter but Makinde told Obi something privately and Obi instructed his aides to leak it. Peter Obi has no scruples....he thinks we cant see through him and his pretentiousness.....but he will fail. |
