Kunlewoye u can post the link to the page where the interactive vaf9 and appendix 8 forms are on uel website. I used it myself and also cross checked with the tier4migrant guidelines when filling mine. The combo was quite rewarding. |
amen12: Hey!I guess u submitted in Lagos. Today being Friday is actually your 15th day depending on when your passport was dispatched to abuja, u should expect the msg before this night or latest monday night (depending on when its dispatched back to vfs lagos). |
kunlewoye: You may be on to something there.... didn't quite think out that "O" and "0" thingy. All is well. You left yet or still waiting for Sept? Submitted at VFS Abuja on the 19th, so I'm HOPING by 8th Aug I'll hear something good.I've got a couple of things to attend to here for now...will set sail when I'm done. All d best. |
kunlewoye: Sorry, Cavenchy. The riposte was meant for the same post u replied to but somehow quoted ur post. The original post asks if it's required to submit your application with your CAS print-out and I was taken aback. And yes I was referring to VFS Visa Application Center, not the Port of Entry(POE)Noted..The cas print-out may not be required during visa application, but its still wise to print it out because you might be needing it later at the Port of Entry in the uk. I added mine in my visa application and I wasn't refused cos of it. Rather I think it just made wat I stated(on d form) clearer because of digits like 'O' and '0', 'I' and '1' when handwritten. |
kunlewoye: For where dem hear say we suppose dey print CAS again o?... Thot it was stated expressly we should only state the CAS number in the application...Try to understand what is being posted before making analysis, the POE (Point of Entry) is different from your Visa Application center. Azed was refering to the POE in the uk when he said he was asked for the CAS and the documents stated therein. Read that my previous post again and you'll fully comprehend the statement. |
Yeah i'm in coventry.
Thanks to God for d safe trip. Make us proud. |
Makomen Omonkhomion: People are now saying that U have to print out the CAS statement to take to the embassy? Is it true. And can someone print the CAS statement from his email from Abuja quarters of the embassyAn applicant is required to quote the CAS number on the visa application form, if you choose to print the cas statement itself, good. As Azed stated above, he was asked to present the cas and the documents stated on it at the POE in the uk. |
Ell77, that's true and the applications from international students have just as well reduced as a consequence of their restricting laws. Now the schools are mounting pressure on the law makers to loosen their grip on the necks of international students or prepare to face condescending figures in subsequent annual profit.
I was told that too so i packed everything i submitted to the embassy in my hand luggage but the entry officer only asked for my cas and documents on the cas.
Azed from your post I suppose you are already in the uk now. All the best |
I have read some of the comments on this thread for a while now and at this point I think I should append a few points to ponder upon. I have personally carried out an assesment on Best Students from Uk universities and I am currently in contact with one of them, who on graduation received an offer from one of the Top Multinational Oil Companies in Nigeria (we know the likes), It would interest some of you to note that the regard this company has for this graduate and the confidence exhibited by this graduate is outstanding, and when asked by the press how the excellent grade was attained? The response was something close to this; Most Nigerians are talented, but it takes a solid and profound educational system to notice how exceptionally gifted we are. Now if I am to outline the problems in our education/employment sector here in Nigeria. 1.Consider a young girl who gets 300 in Jamb and cos a lecturer makes life unbearable for her due to his unwholesome desires, she is constantly frustrated in her exams and comes out with a low grade. 2.Consider a young man who goes to the university, attends all the lectures even though the halls are overcrowded, still manages to burn candles at night cos there is no electricity just so that he could read, and when he writes he is convinced he has passed, only to be poorly graded cos he refused to sort lecturers and buy handouts(which he probably didn't have money to buy). 3.Consider a group of sharp brains who beat the hazards and came up with good grades only to be delayed results due to a National Strike, and by the time they eventualy finish service they are considered too old to be employed. The employment sector is fully aware of these problems among the youths, but what do they do? They act like they don't, and go on to request high grades and low age requirements for jobs they couldn't have gotten if they were in the applicants shoes, and to make matters worse, they set further tests and judge their applicants not on their ability to sort problems out but as a control measure to weed out many applicants based on luck not merit. This said, tell me why an average youth will not seek a foreign certificate, knowing they would be given proper education and they are rewarded based on hardwork and not the size of their pockets or the shape of their body. These same employers will still travel out for courses to enhance their knowledge in their various fields for promotions...so I don't see any thing wrong with one desiring quality education...I mean, what do u tag a uk graduate who got a job back home in Nigeria on graduation and barely 3 months after, flies in a private(company) jet around the country and trains the top dons of the administrative board? If/When the system is rejuvenated, I see no reason why any citizen would be a money making venture for any foreign country, rather we'ld have others paying heavily to get visa's to Nigeria. I think I have exhausted too much space on this one post, This is just food for thought. |
shemy: Already working on transferring to my acc and I am sure by monday it will be there. My fear now is 28days from 23 July will 20 of August, hope it will nt b to late to apply then? My sch is opening 24 Sept. Was just careless abt the acc thing was thinking the other way will work initiallyMost student visa applications take 15 working days to process (I.e excluding public holidays and weekends), but most times it rarely ever gets to the 15th day before a decision is made, if your application is straightfoward and void of questionable details that might involve a string of verification checks, u might be lucky to get it between 9-12 working days from application. so you might do well to make sure there are no loopholes in your application so that it comes out on time and u're also able to book a flight on time putting into consideration what date your school has allowed for resumption or late resumption(I'm hoping it doesn't get to this tho). Cos booking your flights late might result in outrageous fares especially when u have to make it from an agent as a result of flights being already fully booked. This is just a general advice to many who rely on late applications. @shemy I believe yours is not late. All the best |
hey Guys, i just got my student visa today. Rejoice with me.
Just as I had anticipated, Congrats. |
I know this thread is somewhat outdated but just an advice for anyone who might come across this in recent times, I think this poster is just trying to tarnish the image of the catholic church with this misguided/disguised post, what on earth would a born full catholic be doing in the arms of a priest knowing fully well the implications of such an action. For the benefit of doubt if this case were true, I would think this is a satanic influence and that's why the poster finds it difficult to cut loose from it. I advice you go for confession and pray for the demonic spirit holding you bound, to cease its torment from hencefort and depart without return. |
I av applied for my uk student visa since 3rd of July, i am yet to receive a text or change of status on d vfs site. Has anyone gotten his/her student visa in the last 3 weeks?
honey86: I applied on d 4th and I havnt hrd anything either.Normally, You should be expecting a msg anytime between this night and monday night. Sometimes, the msg comes late, I remember I saw mine in my email inbox at night and the sms followed later on d next day. |
^^ thanks bro |
136k on Emirates, one way for late aug(20th-30th) 2-3hr stopover. There might be cheaper ones on Egypt air / Turkish, but comfort is crucial. Dubai airport is superb and Emirates itself is among the very best
Thanks mate. Very helpful indeed |
Don't really have a budget, any not too expensive airline would do, just to keep me from spending more than any other student would, I know those experienced in these routes must have found airlines offering reasonable deals . |
Hi everyone, could you pls advice on good/affordable flights to Manchester? |
@kunlewoye what passport number is stated on your cas? |
penfold: @justwiseIf you applied and received emails from vfs during your previous application, you should still be able to find one of the emails they sent you about your application progress in your inbox. Your Ref no should be dere. |
kunlewoye: I actually called again to know if I could be given my old passport but they reiterated again I cant have it back since i had neva used it to travel before and it's not like it expired. If your previous passport was a virgin passport and also an e-passport, they won't return it. Apply with the new one, and when asked in the application segment abt previous passport history, state the old passport number and any others you had before it. then state that it's been replaced by a new passport stating your (current) passport number. |

ell77: Good to see people still assisting each other. I am getting more requests for accommodation assistance and job assistance. We are doing our best and have started expanding in the accommodation department with a view to invest in property we will own and manage ourselves. Those of you who are interested in privately rented accommodation should fill in the survey below:Wow Ell77 so good to see you on here, you were so instrumental to the success of many peeps in Part 1 of the thread. Will contact u soon with regards to what u've posted above. God bless u. |
opzijay: thanks.will Just go send the confirmation to BHC then and hope they accept it.Thats if they include it in my CAS.Remember you can't use Cas meant for sept start to apply for visa meant for january start. All the best mate. |
opzijay: the reason why i Tot about sending it to the school is to maybe change the documents for admission so that the school will indicate in CAS that i used statement of result and that they verified it.The reason ukba requests for your documents the school used in offering you admission, is to visually and analytically verify that the information you sent to the school(mostly scanned copies) are not forged or doctored on a computer/are authentic/actually belong to you/approved by regulatory bodies/ and in your possession. The school enlists their expertise for this purpose as the sch is unable to really verify authenticity of international qualifications because they are not in close proximity and might not fully understand the methods for verification as the Ukba domiciled in your country(here) would. Therefore the Ukba BHC acts as a security check for the uni, to ensure u don't trick the system. If you insist on asking the sch to change the documents u've already used to apply to them and u've been granted admission on these grounds, they might start having doubts about your qualifications. However, you can email them with a neutral email account to ask any questions you need clarification on. |
opzijay: really?was thinking i can send a confirmation to them so they reprocess my admission on the basis of the confirmation from waec so it will be easy for the BHC to admit the confirmation when i present it.is that Not better?or is it 100% certain that BHC will accept confirmation with police report and affidavit? The request for confirmation from waec will be sent to the BHC to prove authenticity of the fact you actually have the waec results you claim to have. If the uk uni doesn't doubt the authenticity of your claim to possess waec, why send a confirmation to them? |
opzijay: thanks cavenchy.i told them i used photocopy of my waec certificate cos i can't find the original.although UKEAS contact told me SUNDERLAND usually don't add WAEC to CAS statements.still waiting for the reply from the school. If they are deferring your admission till january, it will be useless issuing you sept cas because u can't use it. Mind you CAS has a 6month life span. If they should issue you january cas now it's likely to expire in january. So they might take their time and issue it at an appropriate time so that u have ample time to apply for visa without fear of expiration before u actually arrive the uk. |
opzijay: they gave me SEPTEMBER.But i want to do January 2013.i have applied for a deferment.I don't want to ditch service.I guess you are passing out in the next pop, so If your deferment has been duly endorsed by the uni, then u have to start making moves to obtain the police report and sworn affidavit in time. Also a different cas will be put in for you, as u won't be able to use sept start cas to apply for january start visa. |
opzijay: if at worst they insist on using it.i will apply to waec for a confirmation of result to be sent to them.then if they like, they should base their decision on that.Hope u are aware that the them in this case should be the BHC and not the school. |
justwise: I do understand your point, but its the school decision to chose what to include among the documents you submitted, its not your position to ask them not to include it after they might have given you admission based on those documents, that will send a wrong message to them. They will only listen to that request if your explanation is genuine enough.I agree with you, I never adviced him to ask the school not to include it, but to explain his situation to them so that they know how best to state it on the cas, that is why they send a confirmation of details to the student before issuing the actual cas, so that you can correct any misrepresentation on it. If for instance you attended University of Nigeria or a Federal University of Technology, your statement might bear just that as the header and as such the uk uni will assume that's the full name of your uni . You should alert them to include the actual location e.g Nsukka,Minna,Owerri,Yola,Akure e.t.c. (it's happened to a couple of peeps I know and after this alert on confirmation, the sch issued the cas with the full name of the institution where degree was obtained) This is the reason why I said "to ensure they send a cas with details you are comfortable with" (not neccesarily to change what documents they want to include). Hence, my previous reply to your post on dis particular issue. |
Yes, I submitted a letter of consent from him stating he authorizes me to use the money in the joint bank account. The documents I submitted to the UKBA are : Degree certificate and transcripts, IELTS Certificate, Birth Certificate, 28 days Bank statement, Bank Reference letter (which has full names of account holders), Letter of consent from dad, Fathers passport copy, All passports, Passport photo, Both Appendix and VAF forms. Am I missing out on anything? Please let me know. Thanks
If all your cas required' documents are part of what you've stated above then you're currently on the right track, appending/attaching the oanda conversion of your closing balance stating what the account is worth in pounds would have been the icing on the cake because that is also required by law. But I don't think they'll reject your application when you've clearly got 40points on pbs. Pray n wait for your visa mate. All d best |
Hi people. I have already applied for my UK Student Visa. I had few queries. My family name doesn't appear on the bank statement, as It is a joint account with my father. He is the primary account holder. But, I did submit a reference letter from bank with my account details and it has full names of me and my father. So should that be ok? And friend, As i've fund in joint account with my father I selected Option 3 and wrote my side "JOINT ACCOUNT WITH STUDENT" in PBS APPENDIX8 form of question 6.18 Question is Do you've money in own name? 1)Yes 2)No 3)parent/ legal guardians account "JOINT ACCOUNT WITH STUDENT" Please could you all my friends help me with this query? God Bless you all Thanks
Did u include a letter from the primary signatory(your dad) permitting you to have full access to the funds contained in the account for your use in the uk? Nothwithstanding, you've made your application already just hope for the best. |
justwise: The school gave you an admission based on the certificate you submitted, if you asked them not to include it in the CAS what else do you want them to use as the bases of giving you admission?True, I included my waec in my sch application and on receiving the cas it didn't contain it but I still included it in my visa application anyway to prove to the ECO beyond reasonable doubt that my English is in good standing. it's possible to ask the school (when they send the information to be added on the cas to him for initial verification) to include in the cas, the full details of the type/kind of certificate that was used to make a decision on his application. E.g Waec Certificate (Photocopy). Just to add, Justwise u have been a source of inspiration to many, may God enlargen your coast. |
