dupsyluzy:It isn't exactly a bad thing that you had to stop working at this place. I am aware most people in Nigeria would do any job at all cost due to the massive unemployment figures there. However, you have to come to terms with the fact that the employers try to pick a best fit for their organisation, for example: a company in a hugely extroverted field(or industry) would require extrovert employees and vice versa. Everyone is Unique, most especially as an introvert, you would have a heightened awareness of this fact and generate strength from it. Extroverts on the other hand, would try to blend in with other extroverts to appear stronger. If such is the case, then potential employees, irrespective of their characteristic disposition, should as well endeavour to pick the best organisations to work with/for that suit their personalities. In other words, If you don't find an organisation culture to be in line with your ideals or professional conduct, you shouldn't work there in the first place. Your skills are yours to keep and should only be deployed to a project you deem deserving of your contribution, and that would benefit from same. In civilized society, organisation culture is usually dictated by the industry. Therefore young people would usually be advised to pursue specific career routes where their personalities would be most relevant. For most introverts, specific fields stand out, most of which would be creativity or proprietary related, this is due mostly to the complexity of their thought process. I wish I could tell you more but this whole page would not be enough. |
TrapQueen77:No doubt men love to be praised, however we don't like lies. So if you're gonna praise a man, ensure it is something he has done that is worth the praise. For what it's worth, there would always be some quality he possesses that stands out for you, and he would not only appreciate your kind gesture but your thoughtfulness as well, men are wowed by a thoughtful woman. Praising a quality that a man clearly doesn't possess could be seen as mockery or nonchalance. |
Read if you want to know why? I think the op is missing the whole point. Relationships are never black or white(that explains why this post may appear lengthy to some). It's 1001 shades of grey. No two situations are ever the same. What most ladies seem to ignore is the fact that men are different from one another. Money or success is not the ultimate measure of a man. Also Not all men cheat (when I read that, I lost respect for the intellectual integrity of the Op). Now what is the point? Lady A appears to get married faster because she understands her worth (which has been lowered by her status), she has had dealings with most of the sugar daddies and super rich and influential folk, most of whom are already married and she has come to understand all that glitters isn't gold, at the end these girls just settle for a man who can provide for them afterwards, not caring much about his character. Some even go ahead to marry a poor man, as long as he doesn't show any of the characteristics of the sugar daddies they dated. However, Most Lady B's have an extreme entitlement mentality. They think because they don't play around(runs), they deserve the richest, finest, hunkiest, most powerful, most popular, whatever- else highest man out there. And mere looking at the lady with these grandiose expectations, she doesn't even possess a mere 0.5% of what she expects from a man. The only thing she brings to the table is her faithfulness and demands compensation worth the head of a human being in return. She is hoping to marry a man who will compensate her(not in love and care but in riches, wealth and worship) for the years of her not sleeping around, like the man owes her that. Unfortunately they do not appreciate the men with high standard morals who may not own 5 lambos and a private jet. They look at Lady A who married for convenience either as a 3rd wife to a rich socialite, to a divorcee or to a wife beater and wail that she married first. You would think they wouldn't want the exact same kind of men the runs girls get married to. Most runs girls have no issues marrying a chronic womaniser, as far as they are concerned, all men cheat (they think this way because they chased womanisers their whole life), but as long as he is rich he is bae. For Lady B to desire the same kind of man just as lady A does, is just plain appaling. Advice for you Lady B's: Stop desiring men for their money and fame, that is what a lady A does. A lady B should desire better in character than how much he owns. A lady B should work hard on herself to become a perfect match for the man of her dreams and soon enough, she would get married to a good man who would be a caring husband to her and an amazing father to her kids. Even if he doesn't already own a private jet, your intelligence alongside his could someday make you both owners of a fleet. The VW Beetle that dominated the 20th century is no longer considered a luxury vehicle, whatever a man owns now can not be compared to what you both could build in the future if you both put heads together as a perfect match. Marrying a man who doesn't respect your input in anything (probably cos he feels he didn't need you to become rich prior to meeting you) is a recipe for disaster. Faithfulness and wisdom are two different things. All the Faithful ladies with wisdom get married when due. They marry realistically. The faithful ones who lack wisdom would keep waiting for Prince Harry when they don't even measure up. Cinderella is a fairytale open your eyes to reality. BankyW and Zahra Buhari's kind of husband aren't marrying ladies beneath their standards anymore. Those grand rich faithful men you see don't want a repeat of Goodluck-Pat. The world has changed. If you have wisdom you would work hard on your self and your ability to inspire a man to greatness. The unfaithful ladies who lack wisdom marry any Tom dick or Harry with cash to spare. The unfaithful ladies with wisdom understand their worth and look for a good man who isn't all gold to marry. |
Most people wouldn't do what I'm about to do here but that is the whole point of my post. If you get to see my comment before taking a decision, then you should understand what this advice is about. Nigeria and indeed Africa in general, is the way it presently is because most of its people feel the world owes them something and they don't owe the world. As a result, the graveyard has become the richest place as millions of ideas have gone to rest in the tombs because the idea custodians didn't have the means or guts to execute them or never told anyone else about them so it died with them. You may have a thousand and one loopholes or an equal figure in prospects but you would never know it all until you do at least one of the following: 1. Plan and Execute 2. Share and get feedback. Whichever option you choose could determine how much you lose or gain at the end of the day. For most people, they find out the hard way. . Now from your post, I think I know what kind of business you are thinking of, and it definitely is built around the unique touch from your personality which is vital for the business to even kick off in the first place. So the advice I would give is this. Use the resources currently at your disposal to plan the execution, share your ideas philosophically with dynamic, diverse-minded but intelligent individuals. Now I used the term philosophically because you obviously seem to have an issue disclosing your ideas to people, this would most likely affect you, because most importantly, you need raw and unadulterated feedback to grow a business, however I am not here to school you but offer advice the best way you would benefit from it, so share them with those dynamic individuals philosophically (I'm sure you get what this means, if not you shouldn't be doing biz) and get your feedback, you would be better off than you are now. I have shared numerous ideas to random people but the shocking news is, I always learnt more about what I shared from simply talking about them, am I worse off than those who executed the ideas i shared? not at all, because I could learn from their execution of the plans. And even more fascinating, I got wiser and had more internally generated ideas coming from within my head as a result of my benevolence. No wonder Jesus says it is more blessed to give than receive (If you are Christian you would most likely know this), I found out what He meant and I can't tell you enough, the extent that blessing has taken me in life. The beauty of it all is, your application of an idea can never be the same with someone else even if they read your memo from top to bottom. Always remember this and it would take you far in life. Best of luck. |

gritzky1996:THAT'S A LIE! HE WASN'T FOLLOWING THAT MUCH AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOW! HE JUST FOLLOWED THESE 5 ONES NOW! PLEASE OBSERVE THAT POSTED PICTURE WELL, YOU WILL FIND THAT THE 2078 IS SMALLER THAN THE OTHERS, PLUS YOU CAN SEE A RECTANGULAR SHAPE AROUND THE EDGES OF THE NUMBERS WHICH SHOWS THAT THEY WERE DOCTORED TO FALSIFY THE REPORT. WHOEVER POSTED THIS SHOULD BE SUED AND DETAINED FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER |
OUR LEADERS SHOULD PLEASE READ THIS How do you not realize the opportunity of educative potential a show like this could bring? Rather than clamour for the show to be aborted, why don't you contact the organizers with sponsorship so you could include some useful ideas which would help improve the general psychology of the Nigerian viewership? Also, do you know how many people watch BBN globally? They are learning things about Nigeria on the daily. So why not utilize this chance to improve what they think of us? Why not sponsor some creative tasks on the show that Nigerians could learn from? Why not ask them to have a Nigerian Day in the house where the Housemates could each take turns to say 10 things they love and miss about Nigeria? Why not send the housemates various traditional items or attires and ask them to culture-swap for a day or two to promote our culture and unity? Why don't you play them video clips of our National Heroes and how they worked so hard for our country? How they were honoured? And how people who emulate them would also be honoured? Not only would these promote unity and patriotism among the housemates in the house, the viewers would also be bought in on these core values. I am seriously depressed our leaders dont know how to use the show to our advantage. Also, back home, why dont you concentrate on stopping the mass retrenchment of our hardworking people or provide your graduates and citizens with well paying jobs and maybe they wont be so desperate to do anything on the show for the 25 million? Even if you cant provide jobs, why not make the environment safe and conducive for entrepreneurs to thrive? Most of the housemates are very talented entertainers but there's one thing they lack in common, exposure and capital. How would they be exposed when most people in Nigeria do not watch tv or internet videos due to electricity and internet accessibility challenges? How do they keep money for their business when too many fraudsters and robbers roam the streets stealing the resources they need to effect their hustle? Isn't it only natural to imagine how business-unfriendly Nigeria is, that prompted the organizers of BBN to locate it elsewhere? How then do you expect the entertainers to thrive in same environment? What have you done to improve the security and electricity situation? If there's nothing else you have learnt from the show as members of the House of Assembly, at least the mere effect of the suitable environment for growth the house has on the housemates should be a lesson Nigeria could learn from and start working harder to replicate a similar environment nationally. I have seen these housemates improve day after day in the house, honing their skills and growing their talents, because they feel safe, they have 24/7 electricity in the house to be effective with the technological resources at their disposal and believe they are exposed to global viewership that also have electricity 24/7. Even one of the housemates admitted this to the others. I could go on and on, but i am sad. I have no paid personal advisers but even I know enough to point these out to leaders who are supposed to teach me about maximising opportunity for National growth. |

AfonjasMustDie:Infact some of the richest people do. Donald Trump, Richard Branson, Dangote, E-money, Damon Dash, Mark Cuban. Not everyone has the skills or opportunity to manage multiple businesses all at once in the beginning. But perhaps if you start with one then gradually the others should come along with time, the goal should be to expand and break into new markets in the same industry, before adding on more in other industries e.g acquiring other companies, taking up part ownership, investing in start-ups with high growth potential etc. |
tabisegroup:Very short post but deep in meaning. Classic example of putting the cart before the horse. This is the question I have asked for years, What happened to all the graduates leaving our teaching and learning institutions? Why ask someone who studied Tourism or Psychology in a tertiary institution (who has already learnt a skill sufficient for contribution to society) to go learn how to weave a basket just to make a living? Isn't that breach of trust beween a government and its people? These people who learn these skills at the centers would still have to establish their businesses in the same environment that graduate professionals and foreign investors fearfully dread to do business in. Fix Power, Security, Provide and Regulate Fast Safe and affordable Transportation(No journey should take more than a day to get from point A to B and return to A, in a country the size of Nigeria) I suggest robust rail networks to decongest our overloaded beyond capacity roads, then ensure enforcement Agencies work effectively to assure innovators of intellectual property rights protection. Do these and you wouldnt need to set up any skills acquisition center anywhere. Those things would come naturally as quick as lightning because the enabling environment would exist for businesses to Thrive. |

If you want to be a successful person, you must have these qualities: - Believe in yourself - Limit Excuses to the barest minimum - Make your time count - Trust in God Do these and you are officially successful. |
It is appalling that there are very few who even know the root of our problems in Nigeria Our problems are obvious but also quite simple to solve. We just lack people with vision. 1. Uncontrolled Economic Migrants : The fact a black man speaks pidgin doesn't make them Nigerian, economic migrants flying into Nigeria and not returning home afterwards is the Number one problem with Nigerian economy. For every illegal immigrant living within the shores of Nigeria un-deported, citizens would continue to struggle for the jobs, health-care and what little amenities that remain. Countries secure their borders and have a national citizens database for a reason. You don't walk into a First world country and open a shop on the streets. Why do economic migrants troop into Nigeria tear their country's passport, change name, learn a local language and run to Nigerian Immigration Office to get a Nigerian passport? How many Nigerian citizens even have passports? If you think there are no Illegal migrants in Nigeria ask the next man on the streets to recite the National pledge. Trump isn't stupid for wanting to build a wall. Enlightened Americans knew the dangers of illegal immigration and stood behind Trump. This is our Country, if we do not protect it, we can not develop. Budgets are made but what statistics were taken? How do they know who among the people in any region is even a Nigerian? You can not develop a nation if you do not know who your citizens are. Economic migrants most times do not care about the country, they are here for money and economic gain only, they do not share the ideals of a fellow Nigerian, they would litter the streets, vandalise public property and start families that wouldn't share the same ideals, leading to an increase in the number of mouths the nation would have to feed. Why are we the most populous country in Africa? are we more fertile or promiscuous than other African Nations? This situation can be likened to a school, If you are a principal and you plan an excursion for 40 children, by the time you arrange transport you would discover there are actually 80 children. Where did the other 40 come from? How do you cater for 80 on a budget for 40? If anyone wishes to be a Nigerian citizen, they should follow legal procedure like its done in other countries, they would be scrutinised to ensure they understand our goals as a country and that they would follow it before granted. No citizen who has an entire extended family spread across different states of the country would be negligent of the fact their public actions could affect a family member somewhere. Make Nigerian Borders safe again, create a database that enables us account for every citizen, no more illegals. 2. Non-existent National Database : How do you combat corruption if perpetrators who get caught, go on with their businesses unstigmatized? How do you stop top officials from being corrupt when those at the bottom who help them are not discouraged by the fear of the ex-convict stigma? An active national database is required to keep track of every person's credibility. People who have been incarcerated should be identifiable via a database by HRs when they show up for job interviews, by parents when seeking a child carer, by investors when seeking to make an investment, by the people when seeking to elect leaders. Crime would be grossly reduced and people would be less likely to engage in corruption. All of these would not be possible without the convenience of an easily accessible database, a well organised home address system and well documented birth and death records. You might be able to talk your way out of a situation with a corrupt police officer or judge, but you can never convince a computerised automated system to not do what its programmed to. 3. Epileptic Power Supply: How do you expect investors to come to the country when it would cost them more money to run the business in one day than it would to run the same business in a month anywhere else in the world? No business sets out to lose, its a business. Those fortune 500 companies are never gonna set foot in Nigeria as long as steady power is an issue. If investment doesn't come in, infrastructural development is still wishful thinking, till power is stabilized and made 24 hours. If this is accomplished, more people would visit Nigeria to talk business and this would automatically lead to more infrastructure and employment, all of which would be done by the private investors and not even requiring government expenses. 4. Negligent use of Media: Every country needs a dream goal or an aspiration for its citizens, and this ideology needs to be publicized aggressively. Nigeria has an enlightenment problem, one that is eating deep into the morality of many. How can a government exist without sponsoring heroes that our young and upcoming could look up to? What happens to the few who do really heroic things in our society? Does anyone recognise them? Do we have a similar event like the Nobel Price, where honourable Nigerians who have done heroic things or have made new inventions are honoured for their hard work? Or do such people end up in the long queues of Pensioners denied pay? I tell you what? the young are following in our footsteps and see all that is happening. If the calibre of people who are recognised by the country are criminals with ill gotten wealth, what do you think the children would wanna be when they grow up? well your guess is as good as mine. 5. Misplaced Priorities in our learning institutions: People talk about studying useless courses in our institutions, but are they really useless? The reason anyone would say that, is because the Nigerian government has not done enough to ensure an industry exists for the graduates we churn out from our teaching and learning institutions. What are our ideals as Nigerians, what problems do we actually have collectively as a nation and how much have we invested in robust Research & Development using our institutions to ensure these are tackled? How many course-specific scholarships are offered to encourage young students to partake in specific courses that are very vital to solve our short term problems and long term aspirations? Why does the Nigerian government allow people to pay fees and not make policies that would enable these students find jobs for whatever they studied. If whatever courses students study in tertiary institutions has no industry for nation building, why is it still in the curriculum? |
you guys have time |
Buseryomi94:Dudes, the above bolded is because she's gonna get it back from y'all afterwards anyway. Oh and with 30% interest too or more. Lol. I guess you know what that means, yo gonna be her Money Making Machine(acronymize this at your own risk). |

chinkichun:In the UK most people are proactive and independent. Paul wouldn't be fair to ask Ade to write on a topic already picked out for him within 2 hours because then Ade would have to carryout a research and that would take longer. He did the right thing by asking him to write on anything. Because that gives Ade the freedom to write about something he is really passionate about, or to submit a previous write up he has done on the club. They expect a prospective writer to be conversant with the affairs of the club and as soon as they are employed, would hit the ground running thinking up new topics to write, and delivering the quality desired, quickly. No body is gonna mother you on the job in the UK. Neither does anyone employ you out of pity, its a job not a charity, you have to know what you are doing before you even apply, so you don't waste the interviewer's time. Paul was only wrong for generalising and condemning an entire country not for failing to see David's expertise. |
Are you guys surprised? Buhari was in London last year telling the world that Nigeria is indeed a corrupt country. The broadcast was stuck on replay every 15mins for over a week on Sky News. What impression do you think they would have of Nigerians after that? |
Could someone inform Dangote to start a Nigerian club, then buy Messi and C.Ronaldo? That would put Nigeria on the map and improve our local league. |
Why does he look like Rochas?......... without all that weight of course. |
sirusX:Indeed, we do need intellectual governance. In most countries, citizens would not dream of electing people who lack foresight nor creativity. But how do Intellectuals get into political office in Nigeria when our people would rather have leaders who talk more about the inabilities of incumbents than those who, though unpopular, have constructive executables we need in order to make it in the future. Even when they do, they would rather vote for aspirants with promises that are dead on arrival without suggestive purposeful policies to back up it's executability. A nation with a history of consecutive elections where participants who eventually won the elections didn't show up for the election debate. That said, I understand a lot needs to be done about public enlightenment in leadership selection(and the media has a big role to play here). My major worry is what the youth of today learn from these events. It's quite preposterous, that as old as Nigeria is, we can't boast of enlightenment being one of the cardinal virtues for future generations to inherit. What legacy do we leave for them if the term 'Lucrative courses' is still a major topic for discussion in this country? Black people all over the world suffer indignation because they don't have a powerful nation to stand up for them. Nigeria was tipped at independence to be that saviour of the race. What happened to Her? Why does She condone mediocrity when many look up to Her? The solution is simple, Media is no longer restricted to Tv Stations, Bloggers exist in every state of the country, Nairaland as well. If only they could entertain people with enlightening but also entertaining news, more people would become aware. If you are conversant with the media publications of USA in the 80's and 90's, you would find 80% patriotic information. Japan was taking over their economy, they had to launch a massive media campaign on Americanism. It was everywhere, their movies(practically every movie in this era had something patriotic about it or at least the star spangled banner showcased), In wrestling (Hulk Hogan's theme song comes to mind, also the controversial Lex Luger vs Yokozuna match where they had American flags flying everywhere after the fight even though no one was supposed to think Lex Luger would win, it was clearly staged to promote americanism), Their video games(Parappa the rapper was about anti-noodles), the entire generation was bought over to believe in the American dream. I want to know what the Nigerian dream is. If we don't, it's time to have one, followed by a massive media campaign to promote it. All over the world, we see heroes made and celebrated for heroic acheivements (think Nobel peace price, Call to Her Majesty's Knighthood). These things are not mere show-offs, they do them to inspire an entire generation. What kind of people are honoured with honorary doctorate degrees in Nigeria? Is it only reserved for the rich? even those who got money the wrong way? What inspiration does this give our youth? Why would our young want to emulate the good and heroic but not-so-rich people? they all see how the good end up, forgotten pensioners. You find the young these days seem prepared to do anything to be rich because that is what is celebrated in the country and not moral ethics or creativity. Fraud is now prevalent among youths because our security outfits and judiciary have failed woefully while older criminals seem to get away with impunity. What nationally celebrated price do we reserve for our true heroes? the truly Noble people who made remarkable discoveries or sacrifices for the country. Do they even exist? I'm amazed Nigeria is still standing with these massive deficiencies in things that are necessary for a thriving society. |
ANIEXTY:If you don't mind, what are your career interests? I am always enthused by people who think outside the box. I have found people abroad who were interested in studying aquatic sciences because they were concerned about preserving aquatic life in the face of toxic waste disposal and the likes. What is yours? As for the topic itself I have this to add: In more ways than one, Nigerian universities these days have courses on offer that have virtually no industry for their graduands when they finish. Most Nigerians want to study Medicine, Law, Engineering or Accounting (I call them the Big 4) which is often over populated by graduates leaving other economically vital areas of specialisation unattended. Most aspiring students end up studying other courses because they couldn't get into the big four, but still their hearts and minds are removed from their course after graduation because they have no passion for it. The government has a lot of work to do to ensure our young Nigerians at secondary level understand what Nigeria's goal is and what areas of the economy need to be improved on in the foreseeable years ahead. If you interview a kid in other countries their answers would amaze you. Kids want to be Firemen, Police officers, Pilots, Soldiers, Musicians (Instrumentalists), Historians. This is due to the kind of education they receive at an early age e.g the movies they see and what media portrays of the country. Government can not leave formation at the hands of parents and teachers alone. It needs to grow an intellectual generation of Nigerians founded on the principle of Nation Building. No kid is really dumb, they just haven't found what interests them enough to be really good at. If they had more options you would probably see them shine in one of them. This is why most Nigerians thrive abroad. When you limit the aspirations of a human being to only what is available, you limit their creativity as well. Every Jambite you ask today would mention one of the big four. But how do you expect people to want to study anything other than the big 4 in Nigeria? The industry just doesn't exist for much else in the society or even worse, the society sometimes works against it. How do you have a country with many psychology students and graduates while our streets are still littered with angry road rage drivers? Does the government not know a few policies on public conduct could provide jobs for these crop of graduates? Or how do you reconcile the fact that Nigeria doesn't feature as a top Tourist destination in the world when there are so many historic locations that could be turned into Tourism spots, but History is still in University curriculums while her graduates roam the streets looking to work in a bank. It's alien to mention the unavailability of agricultural national export when there are thousands of agricultural students and graduates who can't get loans nor access to foreign exchange to buy 21st century machines for mass production. The government has to focus on what direction Nigeria is headed as a nation and concentrate on providing lucrative opportunities for people to venture into other areas for nation building, this is the only way to decongest the massive concentration of youths in the Big 4, and therefore combat unemployment. The reason for this is simple, if everyone leaves other courses to study the big 4 (that represents only about 30% of what makes a society thick), soon there wont be enough jobs to go around, and you would be left with more people unemployed than employed. Similarly if you do not make those other areas of the economy lucrative for the teeming youth, people who graduated from other fields that can't find a job in their industry (since the industry doesn't exist or is anti-lucrative), would look for ways to get into jobs in the Big 4, therefore quadrupling the rate of unemployment. Soon after, you'll find a skill shortage in other areas that are required for an economy to thrive. Countries like Australia and Canada seeking immigrants with useful skills they have shortage in, are not dumb. Nigeria has the population but the direction deficit is immensely troubling. PS: I do not have a team of paid advisers on these issues but even I know these things. This kind of topic wouldn't exist in the first place if our government did their jobs well at making every job decent for all. Look at what young people have to deal with these days, worried about choosing lucrative courses when every course is supposed to be useful for nation building, and to think we have paid people in government who year after year don't even know why unemployment exists or how to resolve it. Instead of providing a conducive environment for graduates to thrive in their respective industries, they tell them to learn how to weave a basket to survive. Nigeria is in a sorry state because many sections of the economy are non functional due to a lack of incentive for participation or gross negligence. It's pathetic for the 21st century Nigeria to have mediocres ruling a supposedly educated populace. |
davidif:True that (at bolded) |
dunkem21:Lol someone needs to tell the organisers that they are the dumb ones. Buhari has a honorary doctorate so she was right. However in most countries like the States, honorary recipients are only permitted to be addressed as Dr in the granting university and not elsewhere. But most people still do regardless. |
No thanks. I already have celebrity neighbours. |

...i swear i never even saw that one...
