Foreign Affairs / Re: What’s The Value Of A Big Bonus? by Cayon(f): 6:13am On Nov 24, 2008
i agree with you.

You know if it was up to me - i'll put all thse CEO's of failed companies in jail. I am positive those guys saw the writing on the wall last year but GREED took over their conscience. As an example, last year one CEO took home 45MM while a "small potato" took home 15,000.00 for bonus.

Instead of not giving them bonuses this year, I say seize all their assets (homes cars, boats, etc) personal and public or require the over-compensated CeOs to repay the excess compensation they received over the last three years.

Let me give you a joke. I remembr at a conference they asked us to say waht we do in our leisure time. Everyone was like relax, go to the beach blah blah. Until this female CEO stood up and said "for leisure (english accent) we take the family jet to Pari for brunch" I felt like punching her on her breast.

Most of these Wall Street barons live by Michael Douglas phase "Greed is Good" Hmm, but is it? or until they are caught

In the BVI they invented a machine that catches thieves;

they took it out to different places for a test.

BVI - in 30 minutes, it caught 20 thieves;

UK - in 30 minutes it caught 500 thieves;

Canada - in 20 minutes it caught 25 thieves;

Ghana - in 10 minutes it caught 6,000 thieves;

Nigeria - in 5 minutes the machine was stolen.

Why Nigerians hold grudge over the Internet

I received an email telling me that you shouldn't do blah blah blah and that's why so and so don't blah blah"  Imagine people cyber hating me and don't know me personally. LMAO. hahahahha grin grin. sick people. hahahahah

To this person, i say "you kidding me right"

Let me tell you this - I DON'T hold malice or grude. . . .especially to folks I never lay eyes on.  I am not a grudge holder. In fact I may get mad for a minute but seem to let it go just as quickly. This is cyber world and you are bound to have different opinions.  Why? because of culture, race, religion, politics, gender etc.

Geeze, you folks need to wake up and smell the bush tea.  For example, this dude Davidylan  gets on my nerves sometimes but do you think i am going to lose sleep over this "internet character".  Do you think i will go to bed and wake up still mad with him?  Heck no, the moment I get off this computer my real life is in drive. When i am back on NL, its a brand new day so I am woman enough to answer/ask a question in his thread,   Why?  I forgive even though i didn't forget.  Come to think about it soometimes I might even forget.

a person holding grudge for someone over the Internet is very deluded and lacks maturity, sorry to say.  holding on to resentment, holding on to a grudge, is like eating rat poison yourself and then waiting for the rat to die.  it is poison literally to your body mind heart and soul.  so the motivation for not holding on to a grudge is for ME and my health and well-being.

Oh yea, i read recently is that physically and physiologically, hate and anger are the most destructive attitudes we can carry, when we breed hate and anger we are destroying our bodies and making ourselves ill

off to work

Christians - By Maya Angelou

When I say, "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say, "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say, "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say, "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say, "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say, "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say, "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

17.    Being unable to deal with calamities, for instance crying and yelling     in funerals.

@babs

Re the above - are you saying its ok to cry silently but its haram to cry out loud at a funeral? (a sin or just a weakness? undecided).

Ok, this is my personal story - I am a Christian and Christians cry at funerals.  However, because I don't cry and show emotions my mother thinks I am heartless like my father.  And i think heartless is a very strong word.

Before:

I never cry in public and a lot of times in private either.  If i do cry in private - its not the boo hoo crying, its the cuddle in bed watery eyes crying.

One time my father screamed at me and I cried (tears ran down my cheek).  He did not apologized but said crying is a weakness and i am not to show weakness.  My brother by father side said the same thing.  Even an ex-coworker (Palestinian) said "i hate to see people cry"

Present

Now, i can't cry at funerals or anything that rightly deserves an emotion.  Last Monday i cried internally, meaning i felt extreme emotions but no tears/watery eyes.

it bothers me because I want to cry but I can't.  I feel bad because i think a child should be able to cry (death)for his/her father.  Maybe i am afraid to cry because i don't want to be known as weak and i want to be strong for my father.

My other brother (same mother/father) just don't care our father is dead.  Then my mother always saying "why can't yoiu be like your brother and that I am "heartless" like my father.  You kidding me?? - heartless because i don't show emotions.  Saying that, I always try to do the opposite of my mom's teachings just to hurt my mom's feelings.

Good night and Good luck

Peace

Romance / How To Get Over A Crush? by Cayon(f): 6:02pm On Nov 22, 2008
Ok, I have a crush on this guy and I want to stop it.  I have tried all the advice (from co-workers/friends) on how to rid him from my mind but I am still feeling him.

Funny, i am usually good on giving advise to my friends/co-workers (first date, gifts, crush.etc.) but now that it is me in the situation i am helpless.

So I ask y'all, how to get over a crush?
