I was shocked, confused, bewildered
as I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
by the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
who made me sputter and gasp--
the thieves, the liars, the sinners,
the alcoholics, the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
who never said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
was rotting away in hell,
was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

And why's everyone so quiet,
so somber? Give me a clue."
"Hush, child," said He "They're all in shock.
No one thought they'd see you."

Judge NOT.

i'm walking to the rhythm of my own slow song.
dancing to the beat and feeling so strong.
like hearing it for the first time, but that's all wrong,
cause my melody has been playing all along.

Jakumo:

Deep in your soul, Canyon, I know you crave my forgiveness for all the misinformation you have bombarded us with in this thread, but I grant it ONLY because of that perfectly-timed baboon photograph that you posted a while back, and your description of the climbing crabs which I have never heard before.

For your more recent offense, summons will soon be served as promised.
Ok, your first para - I am lost in translation.  Regarding your last sentence - here is my reaction grin grin grin grin grin grin grin silly

Now back to basic.  All i am trying to say is - You, me and the rest of the world are aware of poverty in Nigeria.  Yes, the government should be doing something about poverty or at least brainstorming but in the mean time -  Are you doing something to help fight poverty?  Do you have a strategy plan to help?

My crab in a barrel mentality - is simple this.  You are not doing anything to help fight poverty or to help the less fortunate ones in Nigeria.  All you are doing is posting pics and repeating what we already know.  Basically you are pulling down instead of trying to help.

yea, I can come out here and post pics (poor areas) of Nigeria.  But what good will it do me?  You think i am not hurt when i see people living like that?  But i'll rather spend my time trying to help one or two families rather than exposing their living condition on the internet. Not cool at all.

Jakuma - you either PUT UP or SHUT TO HELL UP. Plain and simple

P.S - can you enlighten me some more on the highlighted (your first para)

Peace

Religion / What Makes A Person A Christian? by Cayon(f): 5:14am On Dec 13, 2008
Does being Religious make you a Christian?

Does holding evil in your heart at day and pray to God at night make you a Christian?

Does sitting in Church make you a Christian?

Does Baptism make someone a Christian?

Does sincerely believing make you a Christian?

Does being a good person make you a Christian?

Does keeping the 10 Commandments make you a Christian?

Does joining a church make you a Christian?

Islam for Muslims / Re: Spin-off From Signs Of Weak Imaan (#17) by Cayon(f): 4:50am On Dec 13, 2008
well i didn't want to open a new thread and I searched all 5 pages for a thread pertaining to the question i am about to ask you.

Well, i just learn in the Romance section that women (Muslims) are circumcised like men.  To quench my thirst for knowledge - i googled "circumcised women" and there were mixed reviews on it.  So i asked : -

On circumcised women - What does the Shariah say on this and what are the Prophet’s words regarding this?

I think you are ready for Islam. don't delay. Becoming muslim is something one should hasts to do. Others are Salah, marriage and burial of the dead. You should hurry to pay your creditors, too. You should also hurry to seek repentance.
Good night and Good luck
I can seek repentance through Christ too. . . . .right?

Eyes Wide Shut

if i could go back to where it all began
and erase all the crushes on you that my brain had scan
Butterflies in my stomach, telling you was a must
Not realizing I was loving you with my eyes wide shut

I guess you felt uncomfortable because I am so ashamed
for letting my heart play that twisted game
foolish of me to tell you that I had a crush
while fantasying with my eyes wide shut

Have you ever wanted something so badly
and making yourself a fool for love
fooled by your own emotions, that you had to blush
Only to realize you were loving with your eyes wide shut?

Day dreaming, fantasying, resting my head upon your chest
Yes, I am guilty for wanting you and I have no regrets
Here's a dirty little secret "i wanted so much to ***k
Now you know what I was thinking with my eyes wide shut

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .I have moved on and I hope this stay as a hush
Mind over matter - no longer my eyes wide shut

Ever wonder why white describe anything that is pure and clean and words that start with black describe anything that is bad or negative

To prove me wrong, please look up the meaning of white and black.

Here are few examples of words that start with black

Black Friday
Black magic
Black out

When ever the Market (wall street) fall - they automatically add the word black. Hence Black Monday, Black Tuesday, Black Wednesday etc.
I am sure you can come up with more words

Now look at the things that are associted with white.  Anthing that brings a smile to your face

angel
White Christmas
Heck Christians even sing this song "Lord wash me whiter than snow

Hope you "get my drift"

If ever I am going to get "real" spiritual is at this time of the year. The Christmas carols, the cooking, the lights, the Christmas trees, the magic that children brings their excitement and effervescence. Christmas is a time i love giving but not averse to receiving either.

At this time of the year i spend more time thinking of others than i do ordinarily - family, friends, reflecting on the year that's been and wondering what the year ahead may hold. I also appreciate how lucky I am to share this time with my loved ones in the warmth, eating my favorite food, drinking some sorrel, going for a walk, eating more food, then going to sleep in my lovely bed, enjoying all that is good in life.

However, i must admit that Christmas here cannot be compared to Christmas back home. Just by inhaling with my eyes close I can smell the fresh paint and seeing folks making their final preparations for Christmas back home — cleaning, decorating, shopping etc. . . . .that's what Christmas means to me.

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friend's face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.

Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name,
'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
'Here's a telegram sir,' 'Jim died today.'
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.
And most importantly, stay close to your friends and family,
for they have helped make you the person that you are today.
