This actually reeks of lies or at best western propaganda. Shagari's government was full of corrupt officials second only to GEJ's in the history of Nigeria. While shagari himself was not the head of thr corrupt cabal, he however looks away and refuses to do the needful to stem the tide - do we have something similar in our hands in 2014? Maybe. Buhari was installed by the military following a sucessful coup. He at once went to work: - Arrested and jailed all known corrupt officials, alas tge innocent were also affected. - Major clampdown on hard drug barons and marketers one of which was IBB who has his cartel. This lead to speculations that GMB was planning to retire IBB for bringing this slight on the military. Tgis was to provide the loophole for the west to explore in convincing IBB to topple Buhari and tgen all the progresses and successes made were immediately destroyed with IBB's ascension into power. - Buhari made it a point of duty to pay up all our foreign debts so as to at least reduce some of our dependwnce on the neocolonialists. He was pressured by the international community TO BORROW, even when it's obvious we can fare well without borrowing. It was part of his decision to reduce borrowing that made him to halt Lagos speedrail under construction then as the project was being funded with foreign load. This is touted as one of his 'crimes' against the soith west. Because of his refusal to borrow but instead paying of our debts, embargo was placed on Nigerua by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) meaning that bilateral and multilateral trade with other nations was difficult. However Buhari still deviced a way around it by engaging in trade by barter with willing nations. In this case he traded oil with other nations to give Nigeria what we need from them. During his then tenure of TWO YEARS, he constructed the three oil refineries we currently have in Nigeria and constructed thousand kilometers of pipelines to convey crude and refined products. He equally constructed roads. As a matter of fact, the total kilometers of roads he constructed during the two years is multiples of that constructed in Nigeria within the past 15 years (2009-2015). He instituted the much popular War Against Indiscipline (WAI) which brought erring nigerians into line and wvryone will have to queue to be attended to on first come first served basis. Even in banks people started becoming orderly. Refuse and trash were disposed of properly. Buhari and his deputy (Tunde Idiagbon of Ilorin) are both muslims. However no such thing as islamization of nigeria was in their agenda. It was actually the regime of IBB that brought Nigeria into the folds of the Organisation Of Islamic Countries (OIC) which began an era of religious extremism in the country. Before then and as a polytheist nation, Nigerians had always lived in harmony. Buharivwas touted as disciplinarian to the point that at that time he was sponsored by the FG for ouside training, he returned the remains of his stipend (change) to the coffers of the FG upon his arrival. This was the reason he recommended the late Prof. Akunyili to OBJ for the post of NAFDAC DG, a role which she equally played well. She herself while working under Buhari in PTF had returned the money remaining from her foreign trip for treatment same way Buhari had done years earlier. So in effect, Buhari recommended her based on performance and without allowing ethnic sentiment to get in his way. Pls remember that Buhari DISCOVERED AND RECOMMENDED her for her EXCEPTIONAL, HONESTY and PERFORMANCE. And she did not fail us or her people. All through his tenure, the naira was stable against the dollar as we had less financial dependence on foreign finances. As a matter of faxt the dollar exchanged for two naira as at then and Nigerians were able to spend Naira outside the shores of Nigeria (just as the dollar is done today). Now isn't that wonderful? Please note that during Buhari's regime, tge country's financial reports were always read to the public on a monthly basis on national TV. The amount realised and the amoint spent in the past month will be read out for all to see. It was a best a transparent regime. Then came the coup toppling Buhari which was believed to be masterminded by the west using IBB. With IBB's ascension, the naira was devalued as requested by the west (something which Buhari did not agree to). Corruption became an order of the day. Things went back to worse. Abiola would have been another individual to stabilize our funances as Buhari did, but the west knowing this again used IBB to dash the "1993 hope agenda" of Nigerians. Fast forward to 1997 under Abacha's regime. As PTF coordinator, annual financial reports of the PTF were always released for public scrutiny. Buhari refused to be paid for his work in the PTF cos according to him, he was already being paid his pension and it will be unfair for him to be collecting money twice from the same sources. Whao! We all came to being at differnt periods in the history of this country. I hope this will serve an eye opener to the newer enfranchised generation on the need for hem to resist moves made at distorting history. Make an informed choice. You have had full first hand experience of the incumbent in the past 9 years he has been in governance (deputy governor to president). So i may not need to tell any history on that. However I can only give history on that wgich you were not part of. This will, once again, help you to make an informed choice and take your own future in your hands. Good luck in your choosing. |
johnsonolajide:Chibok! Yeah Chibok will be the most wright place to stay at the moment, and maybe Mubi. Those two places are without too mush of traffic or too mush of noise except well, occassional boom sounds. But you are assured of 24hrs curfew and you can sit at home all sleep all you want until your eyes get lost in their sockets. Don't let the OP's wright up make you scare to come to Nigeria for now. Just my honest advice ![]() |

Untrollable:You obviously don't know about windows phone else you'll know that there's a Lumia series device that checks out on 90% of the above. |
CoCoLav:Why not check out the Lumia 730 Selfie phone, with 5mp front facing camera. |
braintext:Lol. With that spec, the starting or launching price may be in the range of 150k plus. The L1520 with 6" screen and 20mp camera (32/64 gig variant), microSD expansion up to 128gig and a monster battery (the best yet in any mobile phone) launched with a price tag of around 130k in March/April. It's now around 110k sha. |
Brite02:Oh, congrats. But if I were you, I'll not create a new MSFT account but use the previous one. Using a new one means losing access to all your info tied to the previous account including phonebook, applications (especially the paid ones), game info & gameplay level and progress, Nearby Live info, xBox and Bing maps info (although the Nokia HERE maps is okay for me), OneDrive privileges including cloud uploaded media and info (on your OneDrive), communication and integration of the phone with your other windows devices. The list goes on & on. |
Obrizzy:Lumias 520 & 920 but screenshot is the 920's. PFD means preview for developers. It's a platform for beta testing of OS updates to the phone before the eventual public rollout. So PFD users were already rocking WP8.1 like 2 months before it was rolled out for other users. It has its downsides though. You risk having your device being used as a lab rat. But so far, I've not encountered any problems using PFD versions mostly because the software updates are near perfect before they are even released to PFDs. So in effect, aside the newly released devices, PFD users will first have access to Lumia Demin and WP10 updates before other devices. It's free to enroll in the PFD program. Just head over to the store to download the "preview for developers" app. Then you'd register on MSFT website with your windows ID (live, hotmail or outlook) after which you go back to launch the PFD app on your device and click "enable pfd". Then you're good to go. You'll be notified on your device to download and install any new updates for PFD. You can opt out at any tine by disabling pfd from in-app. |
orimion:D'you mean easier to "operate" like below, including the other problems of malwares, hanging problems and buggy use of android OS? Obrizzy: Obrizzy: |
Brite02:Have you tried checking your date and time settings to see if that is correct? |
UjSizzle:Matter of fact, I now have 4G appearing as an option in my device. This started after one critical update of about 100mb for PFD users.
|
Michky:Well, you can only expect viruses and Trojans programs directed at the platform when its market share exceeds that of android. But until then, windows phone OS remains the safest and user data protection of the trio of the popular mobile OSes. Nuf said. |

braintext:1. A 50mp rear camera with flash and 41mp front facing camera with flash(loseless zooming i.e the picture quality won't decrease when zoomed) .........CHECK 2. A battery life that can last at least 2days......CHECK 3. Has some great features like: wave detection , thermometer , compass , hologram etc.......CHECK The upcoming MSFT Lumia 1030 will give you the features checked above. Below is a leaked picture of the awesome device. Mind you, the flash feature dual- xenon (for still photography) and led (for video recording). Its other features include 4gig of RAM, and 32gig, 64gig and 128gig hard memory. Each of those variant will still have memory card slot expansion which supports up to 128gig card, so you do the math. Pls don't doubt the 128gig support for this device. Lumias 1520 and 1320 released almost a year ago already supports 128gig card without hiccups and so also are the recently released range of Lumias X30 and X35 series. But no, it runs Windows 10 OS, so unless you wanna stop being an Android-meda, only then can you ever realize that dream. As for the super slim thingy, I can't guarantee that with current technology, a 50mp lossless zoom camera will definitely give the device some bump or hunch-back. It's there in the Lumia 1020 forerunner (with 40mp lossless cam), so for the L1030, it might just be same or a little less hunch. Your SUPER SLIM with 50mp lossless zoom can only be gotten from the star trek universe for nowand you'll need to go thru a black hole to that 'verse.

Aleister Crowley, the great grandfather-in-law of George Bush snr. comes to mind. |
wunmi590:Actually i think i know the guy. He used his weapon for money ritual. The caveat of the ritual is that the money that the irumole brings today must not meet that of tomorrow. Reason why he has to spend that much on daily basis. |

EUGENE4GOO:There's no 2go for windows yet, but other social networks you mentioned are supported o Windows phone plus the MSFT "Nearby Live" social network application. And money deduction following expiry of data is not a handset issue but network issue. eMpTy heN is very notorious for that. Glo spares your credit when your data expires, but eMpTy heN does not. So if she has her eMpTy heN SIM on a windows phone, her credit is equally endangered. |
rodeo0070:A latest update rolled out this morning sped up the page opening of BBM on my device. So the "setting up BBM" should equally be addressed. Check the screenshot below
|
olusode97:I believe you are on "preview for developers". In that case, there are still about one or two critical updates rolled out post-Cyan. It is thought in some quarters as a means to prep your Cyan device for the upcoming Demin update. So yes please update. The files shouldn't be more than around 150mb cumulative. |
orimion:Moliplayer plays *vob (DVD file) extensions quite fine. I was exhilarated the day I discovered that cos then I don't have to bother about converting my dvd videos before putting them on my phone to watch on the go. As for subtitles, if the *vob file has the subtitle EMBEDDED in the video file (as does some *mkv files), then your Moliplayer will show subtitles for the movie. However if the sub file is a seperate file, you will have to use a file manager on your device to rename the subtitle file to the same as the video file, still maintaining the original subtitle file extension, e.g. *sub, *srt, *txt as it is. Renaming the sub file as that of the movie enables the player to marry the two together and then you can watch your movie with subtitles. You may have to download subtitles from online if it did not come with your copy of the movie. www.opensubtitles.org and www.subscene.com are a few of the sites I get subtitle files from. About syncing subtitles to movies, Moliplayer unfortunately lacks that. It surprisingly happens to be an exclusive reserve of the nubile "CCplayer" app for windows phone. Maybe Moliplayer will add that in future updates though or the oncoming VLC player for WP8.1 will come studded with that feature is best found out by waiting. |
Ay92:I bet you use the IE (internet explorer) browser in the phone. The version of IE that comes with WP8 is known to have battery draining issues. You can cross check that by heading to battery saver in your settings page to compare the power usage of your running apps. The IE that comes with WP8.1 however, has this problem addressed such that it can be fun browsing with it now. The alternative could be the use of Opera mini browser or Nokia xpress browser - if you don't mind missing out flash effects and animations in your browsing experience. |
