Eldavido1: I think I will like to have a source to what you just typed. Cause what I got from Google is a stake contrast."in an orderly system, the doctor examines with d nurse. draws findings sends patient for lab tests nd xrays.. sends symptoms nd lab test to d pharmacist who reviews it. nd. mks a prescription. which d nurse administer" It's scary how she keeps bragging about her wrong assumptions. First it's pharms are allowed to prescribe. Now it's pharms are supposed to collect the results requested of by the docs, interpret such and then prescribe the drugs. Who knows what next she's gonna pull up, that pharms are supposed to perform the surgeries on patients? This is scary. I wonder if she's gonna submit herself to this outlined modalities or her loved ones for that matter. I just showed this to a nurse who was baffled and shocked at such utterances from a fellow nurse and what she concluded is the writer can't possibly be a nurse. |
NosaHenry: Easier said than done. cos she will call on you and said, what have i done, you done care about me anymore. what will you sayGal: Hello Akpos, you don't call me again, have I done anything wrong? You are not caring anymore. Akpos: Heya Chika, it's not like that o. It's just that I've been busy of late. Besides, I was gonna call you on some very exciting news. Guess what? Gal: What is it? You know I'm not good at guessing nau. Akpos: Okay. Okay. I just met a girl and she's so into me. I wanna arrange for you to meet her. When are you gona be free? Gal: (Shocked and stammering) err, okay. But but.... Akpos (interjects) no buts. You're gonna like her. Besides I need your assessment and opinion of her. I could also make use of some advice too you know, the girls' stuff and all. I was thinking of buying her something nice but haven't the slightest idea so you're gonna help me out on that, right? Will Thursday be okay? Chika: err, okay. Maybe I'll..... Akpos (interjects again) oh, I'm so glad you agreed. I know I can count on you "baby girl". See you on Thursday. Chika: (thinking) eewo! Akpos don get babe? Wetin go come be my own fate now o? So another babe go come dey enjoy all the friendship and attention of this nice guy, na to do my best to scatter this relationship o. Meanwhile back at Akpos' place: Yeye girl. She think say I be mumu wey het shoulder to cry on but wey nor get hand to rub body? Friend zone ko, mumu zone ni. |
eejo: health care is like the armed forces the army, navy, airforce must work together to win a war nobody is more important than the other since 1960 doctors with no administrative knowlege had been heading still WHO rank nigeria health care 191 out of 197 despite huge fund been spent time for a change nigerians needs a fine health care system so that we can ranked among the top 20 in the worldHow much money has been spent in the power sector since independence? But today you generate less than 3,500MW. How much has been sunk into resuscitating Ajaokuta steel company but it's currently moribound? Fact is, it all boils down to your government commitment and their insincerity caused the strike in the first place. It's the same corrupt tendency and insensitivity that made the Super eagles strike in Brazil. It's still the same reason some officers recently went on mutiny in Northern Nigeria. But instead of directing your grievances towards those politicians who earn so much for doing nothing, you praise them and spare them your wrath. So what are you on about? |
ify01: Please how can i unlock my Nokia touchlight? It shows security code. I have tried various ways but yet it remains stubborn. You well so? Okay upload the picture of the phone with the error code so guys will be able to help. |

madridfc: dunno why the Op is comparing this android app with whatsapp. Whatsapp works on almost all devices, from BB to Android& even Nokia, and its FREE. Kk4: Does it work on BB and Iphone? If no, then it is still a learner tunu. The app is available across board. The screenshots show it on my WP8.1. After facebook bought over whatsapp and people discovered that their data isn't safe anymore, a search for better and still secure alternatives brought up Telegram. It's very secure and has not been bought over by google or facebook or any company for that matter. It's in the young stage though and users are still few in my contacts, but then whatsapp went through the same process of growing as I could remember. In telegram, there are also in-app options to invite those in your contact list. So try it out.

Get to download ConnectifyMe. You can even tether a WiFi signal using the app, not only data. |
Roliks09: I try hard to understand the bone of contention here, and its saddening that supposedly enlightened people are fighting over what is not. Lets just assume, that for one day, a pharmacist heads a teaching hospital. What could go wrong? These are the arguments I'd like to hear. What if a nurse was called a 'consultant nurse' based on her experience and years of service, or whatever other criterion that makes a medical doctor 'consultant', again, what would go wrong? The fight really just seems like a fight for supremacy and titles to me, but we all know really, that no one can perform the real roles of medical doctors. No one. So what are they fighting for? Both sides? But these doctors still go to work when there's an emmergency involving one of theirs. What are we talking about here? Its man's inhumanity to man that would ruin us all.Let me educate you. 1. In 2010, an incident happened in one of the teaching hospitals. A consultant plastic surgeon was on the ward round to see one of his patients who underwent skin gratfting. This procedure usually involves the creation of a surgical wound (created by the doctor/consultant) on a part of the patient's body. Shockingly, the nurses in duty prevented the opening of the wound by the doctor citing the fact that it has been inspected by the "consultant nurse". In saner climes, the nurse would stand trial for trespassing and malpractice. 2. Another Nigerian tertiary hospital in 2014. A doctor had RIGHTLY prescribed a drug to a 2 year old child with seizure problems (carbamazepine, the drug, is avoided in pregnant women cause of the risk of having a malformed baby). However a "resident pharmacist" proudly refused to dispense the drug premising it on the reason I gave above. Right as he may seem to be, his half-baked idea of the workings precludes him from knowing that a 2yr-old is most likely not pregnant and is not herself at risk of having any malformations in an already formed and functioning neural and integuments. In yet another hospital, a "consultant pharmacist" had discontinued a heart medication on which a patient is placed by his doctor. The "consultant pharmacist" cited the side effects of the drug as the reason, all of which is known to the attending physician as part of his holistic training. What the pharmacist fails to realize however, is that the side effects of some drugs can be the desirable effects to treat some conditions in certain instances. Now I put it to you. With all the patients in this real life scenarios in danger of mortality (dying) by having their doctors' treatment modalities altered or discontinued by "your consultant nurses and pharmacist", would you rather yourself or one of your loved ones are those patients at those point in time? Be sincere in your answers and make the judgement yourself. |
matify: The woman can be a very enigmatic species to decipher.
|
Or the other time a pharmacist rejected a doctor's prescription of carbamazepine for a paediatric patient with seizure, emphasizing that folic acid must be added to prevent the patient developing neural tube defect otherwise he's not gonna dispense the prescription. How does NTDs develop in a 2 yr old child with already formed organs and integuments? Now see that folly. |
YourHealthlabs: You can say specialized there, but are you are fully grounded, in pharm chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutics and other courses like the Pharmacists. You only borrowed pharmacology like everyone else in the Medical laboratory, Optometry, Nursing during undergraduate days. And how about the classic example of a pharmacist that rejected the physicians prescription of a 2 yr old (paediatric patient) patient? His reasons - the patient has the risk of developing neural tube defect, so unless the doctor reviews the prescription by adding folic acid, he's not gonna dispense the carbamazepine. Now that was a consultant pharmacist!!! Check that out. |
Evergreen123: What he means is that If the progesterone level is below range in a normal pregnancy case at hand, the hormone assay should be repeated.Or a patient whose serum potassium comes aout as elevated above the limit and is still walking by himself to the clinic. Laboratory results are guides. They buttress your working diagnosis and if you notice some unnatural or unrealistic contradiction between the result and the patient's state of health, heck, query that result and call for a repeat. Anyway the pathologists (doctors who specialize in the pathologic basis of disease, in case he doesn't know the meaning) do that already by ensuring quality control of results from the scientists before being churned out to the clinician. |
Acidosis: ahahahaha... you are a stu pid "doctor..."And Dora Akunyili (RIP), as a well respected Nigerian public servant who is well read, well travelled and professionally inclined will have been disappointed at your opinion as well as dismayed by JOHESU's agitation. Heck she would be turning in her grave at Pharmacists' frolicking with other non-professional allied health workers. |
bumfem: Post like this makes one feel concern and sad for this nation. A so called doc saying lab result must conform with presenting symptoms or order a repeat. What if it doesn't conform. There are several dx conditions presenting alike hence u need to differentidly diagnose. In modern med practice lab investigation is one of the major tools to diff diagnose. U may have had an impression base on your Hx taking and some sign and symptoms but lab investigation enhance and drive ur conclusion. You are the one who is ignorant. Lab test results are at best guides. It is left to the physician to use his/her clinical acumen to determine what works to restore the patient health and that's why medicine as being taught in school is holistic, where the student is taught and trained thru all aspects of patient care - pathology and laboratory procedures, pharmacology, sociology, statistics, to mention a few. You don't change a winning team. |
Ampicillin: The allowance cannot be the same I agree with you, but doctors should not be the ones to determine how much allowance others get. There should be a board of all stakeholders regulating thatAnd pray tell, did you read in that press release at any point where it was indicated how much should be paid to other allied workers? Or does "to the doctor only" now mean the same as referring to other health workers? |
Acidosis: All these blood doctors are sharing en...And make diagnosis yourself bah? Smh for you. |
echo- bee:Those are US and UK attack drones. Snake drones and Bee drones. That's the only way they could get to them thru those thick bushes, something which the regular drones can't do. |
samistry: So wt a budget of 70k which wud u guys recommendMaybe you should think of getting a Lumia. Lumia 920 goes for 71k at slot, but 69k or thereabout at jumia or konga. |
::No more German or London hospitals for headache or abdominal pain. And by the way, NMA should adopt ASUU treatment by getting the president, all stakeholders present, including the attorney general to sign an undertaking. This will forestall future claims by any "Oga at the top" of amnesia and "signing under duress" in order to "do the needful" so that patients won't begin to "go and die". |
Yujin: Just still hoping to meet a young, beautiful and FAITHFUL lady that WE would share our 'first fruit together'. Though, for now I'm almost giving up because loads of beautiful ladies are already annoyed with 'this tamed lion' and myself, mehn, the pressure is too much.Don't give it up dude. Make it count. Keep it for that wonderful first night after the union. You'll be glad you did. A similarly good guy who chose to date girls with the condition of "no premarital séx" kept being jilted by those ladies who seems to place premium on séx, even the ones you'd term "spirikoko" among the ladies ended up accusing him of not being romantic and therefore called it off few months into the relationship when the realized he really meant his "no séx" parole. This guy gave up on the 7th attempt and decides to "teach 'em a lesson". For the first time ever, he got into the gig with the next available babe (who incidentally was the right girl this time) as she was equally inexperienced, having been severally dumped too for her unyielding attitude. Long story short, came unplanned pregnancy which rocked both their world, negatively I mean, cos all friends (including me sef, I feel guilty) and peers were disappointed and simply jeered at 'em - "holy Mary don get belle", "Mr do good don fumble" became the anthem. I think they were really meant for each other, cos they are now happily married with the beautiful kid. So dude, don't give up on your priced possession. It simply shows you as strong-willed and you'd be respected by your spouse who'll not doubt your fidelity. |
rudedough: Nigeria is finished if they scrub this policy. How can we scrub a policy as good as this when we have unemployed graduates everywhere in Nigeria.Yeah, just as "Nigeria will go broke" if fuel subsidy is not fully removed. Partial removal, and 360days down the line, where are the promised refineries? The hastily drafted SURE-P money has but ended in private coffers (500 billion comes to mind), meanwhile the subsidy re-investment hasn't impacted positively on most Nigerians, but the few elite (thieves) as a poster posited earlier. D'you know how many graduates and non-graduates has gotten preoccupation in auto import business and are making millions, the clearing agents, the port workers, those that help you drive and deliver such cars down to your destination and earn as much as 30k per trip per delivery? Isn't that worthwhile? Nairaland is a good example of a microcosm that gives an insight into what'll happen in the macrocosm should your "advice" be followed. You should know the millions in transaction that occurs in the auto section alone. Implement this policy and all that is gone, yes gone! Thousands will be thrown outta jobs, and the few elites (thieving politicians and their cronies) who can afford the new tariff on car importation business will then take the stage - remember that they'll still give 'emselves impor waivers, a loss to importation revenue. The other category of people will be the dare-devil car smugglers who'll stop paying import on these cars. That means drop in import revenues as well. Meanwhile, Nigerians earning 18k unimplemented minimum wage won't be able to afford the new high prices of used vehicle, while the new cars, hitherto out of reach for 'em still remains so. I bet bicycle and motorcycle will be the new trend further widening the gulf between the rich & the poor (which is the motive behind the policy, and the fuel subsidy removal, in the first place). Don't be suprised if soon after, they bring another policy making motorcycles unaffordable. Shortly after its implementation in January, visit Nairaland's auto section and see if there won't be a serious drop in traffic and transaction. Intelligent analysis, rather than call for an abrupt ban, will first solicit improvement in the power and steel sector which'll drive production, while reducing the cost of same. Government agencies and parastatals should be mandated to purchase and use these locally produced vehicles (mind you that as at now, most govt agencies now purchase tokunbo - Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, vehicles for use in their fleets, I can show you pictures if you want). Thereafter, and along with motor vehicle standard policies implementation, production capacity can be increased to meet the needs of potential Nigerian buyers. The full ban can then be gradually implemented. Really, these don't require space science. |
.:Yerima comes to mind. .: .:Anybody wonders why Nigerian politicians eventually get insensitive to plight of the masses? They have ma$turbated so much with corruption to the point of being apathetic. And Please, can this article be forwarded to Pastor Chris? |
Davidbanky: Well u got nothing to prove, apple is the world best brand and they displaced coca-cola after 13 years, so before anybody post any self judgmental remarks about any product go online, make research cos u guyz are not the only people on earth, we have 7billion people and am sure America is bigger than Nigeria and considering the people that uses iPhone in America, I bet samsung dominating Nigeria is not a factor, moreover it's obvious we don't know much about anything other than copy and gossip .... And please who is that guy that dropped this thread ? I mean who is he ? Like who, u know ?Yeah, same way every Americans used to die for ford, chevrolet and the likes. But who's the boss now, huh? The American citizen has realized the fuel efficiency prospects in those cars which their own cars couldn't give 'em, reason why they jumped ship. Now this same American cars are seriously exploring fuel efficiency in cars. Remember how much the western media tried to kill Toyota with the sticky footmat problem of the '08 camry (as if ford et al does not have worse factory defects), the American automobile industry crisis of 2008-2010 comes to mind. It's acceptable for a country to protect it's state owned businesses from formidable competition using tactics such as propaganda (over-flogging the Toyota sticky footmats issue), stiff and crippling economic penalties (Toyota and Honda) and sanctions on competitions at the slightest oversight (Samsung vs apple), filing for bankruptcy, buybacks, loan bailout and solvency for ailing corporations (The Big Three - Ford, GM & Chrysler). Americans auto companies divisions have either sold off (saab) or eliminated (Pontiac, Hummer, Saturn), Ford sold their Aston Martin in 2007, Jaguar and Land Rover sold in 2008 to India TATA, Ford also sold their Volvo in 2010 to the Chinese motor manufacturer Geely Automobile (Zhejiang Geely Holding Group) and phased out their Mercury division in 2011. Resulting from fuel mileage competition from Asian cars Ford borrowed $5.9 billion to help their vehicles meet higher mileage requirements. Apple is still enjoying the goodwill of Americans. There exist formidable competition to apple's over-hyped offering and the American people, aside from being swayed by the propaganda, also sees it as a patriotic duty to use their own products, and really, i have no problem with that. It's just a matter of time before this good will gets eroded and that's where the i forsee the problem, something I believe apple knows already which motivated their venture into the polycarbonate unibody form of the iphone 5C, something which has hitherto been exclusive to windows phone, the polycarbonate unibody is a form factor which before now has been looked down upon as inferior by i-fans. Android, and Samsung I think, are constantly improving and delivering new features with each update thereby continuously giving upgraded definition to what a smart device is. Remember where and when android started and see where it's gotten today. It assumed this position mostly by popularity among users rather than by propaganda in the media, movies, music videos etc. Until apple starts being aggressive innovative as android does, they might just have attained their peak and may no longer be able to hold that position for longer. The Americans might soon be yearning for more than "class" and "patriotism", and start demanding out-of-this-world smartness and functionality, in their i-devices, same warning goes to Microsoft windows 8. I'm not entirely holding brief for android, but merely expressing my views as I'm an ardent Nokia user having ventured from symbian world to windows and not planning to venture outta that ecosystem anytime soon. By the way, I still keep and use my symbian devices. I love 'em, really. |
aywhy93: I always wonder what type of Juju Apple is using that makes so many people still love and use it. The difference is just too clear... Its like 'Iku' and 'Orun'US and western media propaganda aimed at rendering competitions unimportant and redundant. It's left to you to make an informed and correct choice. |
Billygee2u: Nigerians I am surprised about you and your reasoning. Sho! You miss road? Check this address well o. |
