earthrealm:If the switch is mechanical, I think it should make it the more easier to replace, right? Or maybe I'm just assuming sha. |
funken:I'm not so sure 250 watts in 4s will not exceed the 150V voc of the CC. Perhaps a nameplate of your panel posted here may help or those with idea of the voc of 250 watts panel can help. Your present 3s config seems to provide adequate headroom for your CC to handle the 48v charging and additions should be more of parallel going forward. I don't have much knowledge of the Fangpusuns though, but that's what I think obtain for most MPPTs I've encountered. Edited: I see @ kardozy has same opinion as this. |
chris81964:Is that battery LiFePO⁴ or Li-ion 18/650/s? Other specs of the pack? |
ceaser:So I got to confirm the consumption. It only has DC to DC cables included. It does not come with AC power pack included unlike the Qasa AC/DC standing fan (the type Ojeysky has in that picture) that has both AC power pack and crocodile clips to DC plugs included. So I used the power pack included in the latter. It's rated 230vac 12vdc 2amp plug. At speed 1 - 9 watts At speed 2 - 11 watts At speed 3 - 15 watts. It blows air impressively down a 9 feet ceiling at all speeds. earthrealm: Na so we see am o. |
chris81964:Oops! Sorry about that. Could this be a one off bad experience? Hope it isn't a common thing with inverter ACs. Users of inverter ACs here, your input may be required. |
IYGEAL:Ha! Hope say you never even put am on top the system. IYGEAL:You thought right. He made wrong connection. Please let him correct it. And I hope MC4s are used. Edited: seen that responses have been given. |
chris81964:Nice job. @ 43 sec, you mentioned "the 1 horsepower inverter AC that is barely performing..." Was that a derogatory or complement for the inverter AC? Those batteries that are 100% full at around 1pm, what is the capacity? |
JUO:Thanks. There's no end to learning. |
ojeysky:The watercolour was necessary cos I once bumped on a picture I uploaded on NL used for something I didn't put up on Jiji.

Leopantro:The BMS is still important. The most likely scenario where you may be spared a BMS in a Lithium set-up is in strictly 1s config, that is nominal of 3.2v like it's used in mobile phone power banks. The moment you are going 2s and more config, you will require a BMS cos the cells in the series connection get exposed to different charge and discharges over time and end up with as low as 0.2v differences in voltage. This is more pronounced at deep discharges where you may end up having as much as 1 volt differences between cells connected in series. At such huge voltage differences and without a BMS, the cells with lower voltage end up getting further undercharged and over-discharge with each cycle until they get bad and then pull down the good cells along with themselves. He may have gotten away with 7s config for that long because he does not deep discharge his pack or even discharge it so much, perhaps just a discharge of as low as 1v per discharge cycle. Indeed with a 100p pack, it is interesting to me. That being said, even with BMS installed, it is not advisable to make deep discharge of your Lithium pack a habit. The stock BMS has tiny resistors that short and work with MOFSETs to balance the batteries and at huge voltage differences of cells, the small resistors may be inadequate to balance. In such instances, you may even notice that your series cells when measured have differences as much as 1v. Taking them out and manually balancing them using big resistors or balancers may then be required. |
acunon:Is this Android OS on board SoC? |
stanisbaratheon:Zenith & GTB. At 391 naira. Don't go near first bank o, otherwise it's your blockos. They will castrate you. |
ceaser:NB: I realized my wattmeter may have recently been overestimating recorded consumption by as much as 12 watts. So I relied on the reading on the inverter which has been tested against at least four different appliances with good reproducibility of result. So I recorded 102 watts on the 319L inverter freezer (nameplate 115 watts) this morning after it worked for 36hrs non-stop. Then it increased to 115 watts when a bucket of fresh unfrozen fish was put inside. One hour later, it had dropped to 113 watts. |
The president will be shocked to hear this, aswear. Could this be one of the info Mailafia (ex CBN guy,) provided the DSS? But why announcing it to us nstead of kukuma going ahead to arrest and prosecute the names mentioned, abi is it Nigerians that will arrest the culprits? If you can't face the culprit(s) because of the power they wield and you really have the interest of your mother land at heart, then by all means organise a way to subtly take such people out of circulation. You're the DSS for Bleep's sake. That's what secret services worldwide do! Lace their foods with arsenic or something or even get a nerve gas or even the covid-19 virus aerosolised and injected into the Air conditioning system in their homes. And if it's our own juju (magic) that you think is gonna work, then get to it. Just do something to take 'em outta circulation without it being traced back to you and do your motherland proud. Haba mana! Edited: Okay sorry. I just saw that part that highly suggests that the DSS is actually playing to the gallery by tryna make Nigerians downplay Mailafiya's exposé. You didn't shout to Nigerians that some people will wanna destabilise the country by using insurgents to cause war and terror, but you come out to shout about an unarmed individual who tried to wake you up to the reality of the problems your inactions have fostered. What's gonna cause disability between this two: the ongoing elite sponsored terrorism and government's inaction on ineffecient service chiefs or the cry for help and awareness of Mailafiya? Daura Secret Service doing what they do best. |
The ACF is apparently still occupied majorly by Hausas and that is probably why they still act reasonably most times by calling out the government. Hausas being one of the three major tribes of the country has a stake in the Nigerian project unlike the Fulanis who are mostly nomadic, wanderers and usupers in nature. Fulanis do not have a permanent land or structure and so are not really commited to one. The modus operandi is to occupy or grab lands, kill or muzzle the owners, plunder the place of its resources and when it is no longer productive, move on to the next place. Central African Republic (CAR)comes to mind. The country was stripped bare by the Fulani hegemony until the country people decided to forge their own destiny and take back what belongs to 'em. Hausas know that they have been unjustly treated by the Fulanis in this entity called Nigeria. They were traditionally/originally not Moslems, but Usmanu Dan Fodiyo brought the religion in to get their loyalty and easily control them. The Fulanis also encourage some intertribal marriages with them among their elite to also garner loyalty and dilute Hausa gene pool. This way, they are able to take over the financial and socio-political structures of the region. This is what has played out in Ilorin ever since Afonja was killed. In the North, only purebred Fulanis can be Emir of Sokoto, emir of Kano and most other traditional positions with clout while the little positions are left for the natives. In the courts of the emir of Ilorin, the less honourable positions of the chiefs are reserved for the yorubas. In actual sense, the purebred Fulani is kept for further advancement of the Fulani cause while their host, the Hausa and the non purebred Fulani-Hausas are dispensables when push comes to shove and when the rolls are called up yonder. That is why the majority of those killed in Northern unrests are the purebreed Hausas, the non-purebreed hausa-fulani and other ethnicities that are from other places. They then give the impression to the world that they being Northerners too are caught in the web of insecurity. If and when the Fulanis tactically take over the reigns of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), you won't have much of positive demands like this come from there anymore. Nigeria is their next cash cow after their sojourn in CAR. Nigeria being a multiethnic and polytheistic entity will make it difficult for them, that is the reason they have been unable to get thru with some policies like ruga and other policies to advance the cause. With increased awareness, they will have a tough resistance and since the patron will soon relinquish power, the achievement over the past 5 years will be seriously eroded by the next non-fulani government that comes on board, same way the Islamic inscription was removed from the naira notes during Soludo's CBN under Jonathan's government. It really isn't fair to force the inscription of one religion in a country with many religions on the currency, is it? Everyone should have a right to practice their own religion and conviction under the freedom of rights charter. Europeans too did a lot of land grabbing campaigns and even killed the aborigines in America and Australia, but they created an egalitarian society that ensures freedom for all. Where the Fulanis have always gotten it wrong is in trying to bring everyone aside themselves down to subservience and religious imposition. |
LandMann:By his actions and inactions, Buhari has made Fulani the only hated and mostly villified minority ethnic group in Nigeria, subsaharan Africa, heck the world.over and that is why they have been named by the international community as the 3rd most dangerous ethnic group. His illegal defence of his erring cousins is what has stopped reprisals all along and it's the same that has emboldened the group in their nefarious activities such that thousands more have died in the hands of these miscreants. Rwandan genocide will somehow play out in Nigeria after Buhari leaves. Some are already keeping malice and animosity against Fulani herders and they will still carryout their vengeance. Others will be pockets of people who will by then be able to defend their own land and farmlands against encroachment and damage by Fulani herders/cattle as the current military arm of the Fulani will no longer hold that power. |
limpopo:Abeg, which decoder dey chop 30 watts? Na those old type of decoders Una dey use? Except it's DSTV PVR decoder which I believe won't even fully gulp more than 15w to 20w consumption, most other decoders are in the range of 3 watts, 4 watts If your 43 inch TV has energy saving option and you get it activated, you can end up with lower consumption of between 40 watts to 45 watts. |
acunon:Prices? |
IYGEAL:You have better chances with 2s 2p than with 4p because of your use of MPPT. 4p on your MPPT will not give enough headroom for the CC to display its prowess to handle your 12v battery demands. So for now, go 2s 2p. When you now have enough strength to go 24v system, you can consider getting two more similar rating panels to make a 3s2p. |
eleojo23:Lol. This gat me. Reminds me of one Nollywood movie like that. Bàbá, please if I sacrifice my manhood, will poverty stop in my life? Bàbá replied, even if you sacrifice your head today, I still see poverty chasing you o. ![]() |
ojeysky:Yeah, I know you have that LFP/Li-ion BMS. But na shikini 30amp I'm in need of. Thanks. |
Dam5reey:Chai! I just miss am laidat. Diaris God ooo. |
ojeysky:Why don't you just shop for it on AE? I got two units about three weeks ago 29k apiece but used DHL option. Got to me in 12 days; no customs charges. Shipping was I think 11k with DHL option compared to 5k with the regular shipping which is complete wack at the moment, thanks to COVID. You may have DHL issues with your location though. Seller says some DHL- designated remote locations will require extra 45 USD charge aside the 11k shipping charge. One thing I also didn't know then was that you can negotiate DHL shipping fee with the seller which is something I'll never forget to do henceforth. Abeg if you go do am that way, you fit hep me find 14s Li-on 18/65/0 30amp BMS hide for inside? . I ordered one last week but with regular shipping. And the way regular logistics from China is going, it may not arrive this year.ojeysky:Are the table fan and standing fan of the same blade diameter? Please feedback on the fair consumption that may make it desirable over other brands. Meanwhile, got a 12v orbit fan installed a week ago, costs 12k. Three speed and works fine so far. Strictly connected to 12v DC for now, I intend to connect an external AC power pack to measure the consumption later as the inverter freezer is monopolizing the wattmeter at the moment. The nameplate says 12 watts though.

IYGEAL:@ bolded. Expectedly. The transformer types are work mules when it comes to long periods of peak power handling but the transformerless handle peaks for just two to three seconds. But the transformer has higher idle consumption. Please do not use that MSW inverter for your fridge going forward. |
ojeysky:What I implied to be missing is the need for less thick gauge wire from the panels with 24v compared to 12v; I actually had no trouble with warmth at the improvised bars unlike with the 12v system. And the wires are as cold as steel. Also the thought that I can add more panels compared to the 12v system and get more juice from the sun, watt for watt. I haven't been able to conclude on the backup comparisons yet because the loads have been different. 12v 200ah LFP handles 110 watts nameplate 203L freezer (which has remained consistent at 115 watts measured) while the 24v 100ah LFP handles 115 watts nameplate 319L inverter freezer (which has always vacillated between 165 watts and 120 watts measured). Although there was a time after a good sunny day that pushed enough juice into the battery. For once, the freezer coincidentally appeared to maintain 114 watts overnight and the battery was at 25.8v 6am the following morning. |
earthrealm:See as they just jump 400 and 500 pass, move to 600 . These guys keep pushing the limit.earthrealm:Tell him to forget the two and buy you know what - Lithium. Those new fine gehs on the block. |
Dam5reey:Dammit! So na you village people send. Congrats. I had my eyes on it too but I guess it was a case of the fastest fingers ![]() About the Bluetooth, I noticed that most of the BT enabled TVs generally support BT mice and keyboards out of the box. But I sometimes like to listen to programmes in privacy using the Bluetooth earpiece in order not to disturb others that may be in the same room especially at night. Please can you confirm if it connects to audio Bluetooth devices? |
Olamed89:• Timely export and delivery to Nigeria + Delayed NIPOST interstate logistics OR • Delayed export and delivery to Nigeria + Delayed NIPOST interstate logistics Which one d'you prefer? Currently Cainiao, Yanwen and Sunyou are in the first category while 4px, SingPost (AESS or not) and CPRM are in category 2. |
Olamed89:After I don jump ship to Zenith, as Guarantee no give me guarantee again. Na OYO for them o. |
