Oh yeah. More patience to get fulani goons settled all over the forests in the country abi? You see I used to see it preposterous for anyone to think that the president might be in cahoots whether directly or otherwise with those causing insecurity and unrest in this country, refusing to believe that there is a hidden agenda of Fulanisation and islam1zation, but it seems your actions and comments every blessed day puts more credence to those suspicions. And that is why I wont blame anyone that accuses you of ethnic cleansing. Your actions have made the Fulanis, and rightly so, the most hated and vilified minority ethnic group in the country. Thank God awareness is heightened and what happened to Fulani usurpers in CAR will be a child's play to what folks in Nigeria have in stock for 'em the moment you are out of that position. CAR was a smaller country and with less diversity and less angry population than Nigeria has. You will cry premium tears when the whole shit hits the fan. Even your Hausa distant cousins that you have treated unfairly will not spare the Fulanis on that day of reckoning. What is so difficult with living peacefully with aboriginal land owners and forging a progressive society therefrom? In places like Australia and the United States, the Caucasians did ethnic cleansing to get most of the lands they called theirs today, but that happened at times when "eyes were still on the knees" and people have no rights or know little of their rights. And the Caucasians still forged great societies and civilisations from the acquisitions, albeit illegal. But I can bet it that Fulanis land acquisition of any sort will not birth advancement cos a group of people that is averse to education, religious tolerance, ranching and every form of civil attitude will not engender the formation of an egalitarian society. |
acunon:Is this still available? |
Simplyleo: careytommy37:You clearly will not recognise sarcasm even if it undresses before you. |
Trippledots:Really, I don't think much thought needs to be put in that even if it appears that way. I can assure him that when his load requirements increases and it begins to make mockery of the efficiency his darling 12v appears to offer, he will not need convincing to up the system voltage. In the journey of AE, we need to crawl first before we walk and then run. It is good experience, though not sacrosanct, to go thru 12v system settings so that you'll know the proper comparisons between the different set points. I still retain some 12v system set up. Lithium chemistry made my adoption of higher system voltages easy since I have to worry less about lead acid balancing and the hassles that come with it. I installed a 24v system barely 6 months ago and when I realized what I'd been missing, I am already accumulating requirements for a 48v system to come online in about 2 months time. Even now the way I look at the 12v systems is the way a husbandman looks at his layers that has reduced egg output: should I just off these layers and fry them chop or make I just sell them or dash them out? I'm seriously toying with the idea of connecting the two 12v LFP (different brands) in series to get a 24v even though it appears the in-built BMS will not tolerate series connection. The worst that can happen is to lose the BMS, but the cells will still be alive, right? Please what do y'all think? ![]() Oga NiyiOmolyunade few posts ago said he was already giving out items that had been decommissioned and remained redundant. Subsisting on a 48v system now, I believe those redundancies aside from the "endangered lead acid batteries specie" also include inverters and accessories of lower voltages. These are signs of improved standards; these are beautiful stages that everyone here will navigate thru. |
mctfopt:Oshey bàbá. In fact, I dey go install that Alibaba app fess now now. |
mctfopt:Thanks. So do you in most cases source for the dollars from banks to pay up or you just pay with the MasterCard debit card and the bank deducts the naira equivalent as it obtains with most users of AE on here? In fact, I dey go install that Alibaba app fess now now. |
igbesachick: igbesachick: igbesachick:Apparently you undisappointedly act like the typical Nigerian. Few weeks backs, most of your posts were berating the Chinese government for the highhandedness in handling the issue of Hong Kong and you exposed some rots of the Chinese government, her elite and her people and their injustices against Hong Kong. At that time, you poured encomiums on the West for their defence of Hong Kong. Few weeks later, it seems China and the Chinese are now the saint while the West is the villain. You are just "turninoniown", like APDPC, today APC, tomorrow PDP. Maybe na the Chinese blood and the Nigerian blood flowing thru your veins that is each showing their effects at different times. |
Mofolam:Then this highly suggests that the non-update issues for weeks is from NIPOST side. Probably it's NIPOST that is supposed to acknowledge the "EDI received" info and update it on the tracking. And likely the item has arrived Nigeria since shortly after the "dispatched overseas" update, but as na NIPOST way nau, na to do things anyhow. |
mctfopt:Thanks for this bàbá. I've always believed that Alibaba thingy is strictly reserved for big time commercial importers and not few items meant for personal use. I go definitely need more tutorial and guidance as I continue the foray into that Alibaba niche. Edited: • But the "Alibaba payment method with credit card" option you selected is not the same as using the MasterCard debit card on AE, is it? • And is there anything like Buyer's protection on there, in case a deal goes south? • What's "PI"? ![]() |
acunon:Prices? |
China, na only you waka come?! |
mctfopt:Bro, how do you do your purchases on Alibaba? Is it in anyway similar to what obtains on AE? |
ojeysky:It's good to think of LFP 3.2v 1000ah or 2000ah, but you're gonna need one hell of a BMS to charge the big bank that results, maybe a starting point of 300A BMS of any configuration that is adopted. I think that using smaller banks of maybe 200 amps battery in any config of 48v to 180v each with its own BMS, then connecting them in parallel will be better. EV vehicles use battery packs in 48v or 60v nominal and a number of this are connected in parallel to form their banks, I assume. I may be wrong though as I am yet to confirm that. But I know that the Tesla car battery packs that some show on you tube are in 60v nominal. |
Decryptor:I've used Zenith card for two orders over the past two days. It worked seamlessly. |
NiyiOmoIyunade:Bro, you never use LTO chemistry o. So gbabesky say you still dey on the journey. I can assure you that with DIY solar, the temptation to just push the limit a lil' more will keep nagging you. |
NiyiOmoIyunade:As a premium brand, I will say these guys are justifying the price on their fantastic products. These are features most upcoming brand will only get to include in their product line up much later. Not much is put into R & D by these ones so the option is to wait out and reverse engineer ![]() |
NiyiOmoIyunade:You know what? All I can say is wehdone sir. But 9000+ watts consumption, abeg na you dey feed your street? |
ojeysky:You forgot to put the BMS voltage o. ![]() |
Alozera:It's your bank that you have business with. The payment was not processed thru AE, so the points of transaction was between you your bank via MasterCard. Any complaints should be forwarded to the bank. UBA is one of the useless banks, so I'm not surprised you got such an ignorant answer to your request. If they still insist, threaten 'em that you'll mail them and copy CBN. Failed payments on AE are treated like POS dispense error and CBN has already marked out the penalty for banks for failure of reversal within 72hrs. If it were to be GTB, all you need to do if you're still not refunded is to complete a "dispense error form" and the info you provided will be used to investigate. Within 10 working days you'll get refunded. |
BolugaiceAB:That's the problem with DHL and those high falluting logistics. It's not even likely to be a huge package or even weighty one. I have shipped bigger packaged Anker and Bose Bluetooth speakers on AE that had no "customs hold" update in the tracking. I can bet it that if this small item was to be shipped with the various regular AliExpress shipping methods, it won't be held in customs or experience that "on hold" thingy. |
BolugaiceAB:Maybe you should give it like 2 to 3 more days for it to be released. Probably customs check and appropriate tax billing. |
xamiel4:Oh, so level 12 and below federal civil servants nationwide are yet to resume after the covid lockdown? I though the FG has instructed everyone goes back to work since 2 weeks ago na? And here I am getting vexed at NIPOST slow pace. You can't expect the bosses to be doing the sorting job of the lower cadres and even if they try to fill in, they can't be as proficient as those that are used to it, so if truly they are just gonna resume, then maybe we can cut 'em some slack and hope that situations improve next week onwards. |

Cultural conditioning has turned a lot of normal harmful words and activities to felonious and suggestive ones. Also the rise in s3xual pervasions and inappropriate activities related to 53x has made hitherto harmless words become blacklisted. Some of those complaining too may have good intentions in mind. Remember than media indoctrination with subtely and subliminal messages is a proven fact. Human vices that were hitherto seen as forbidden are now gradually seen as harmless because of persistent media indoctrination that has successfully introduced that as "harmless" into people's subconscious. Some of the commenters who still like to keep their sanity intact in this anything-goes 21st century will not like to see their minds indoctrinated wrongly because they are probably well aware of the cryptics/secret messages in that picture and to whom the crypto is directed. And no, you need not be a pervert before you react to the use of such themes in public domain. You only need to consider what the public perception of the environment you are is of the theme and you will want to be careful with it. After all they say, when in Rome do like Romans do. Before now "G-a-y" was a word freely used with/to mean "happy" in sentences and is even in one children school poem and rhyme like that. But now, mere mention of that word and if your mind does not flinch from hearing it, people's head will turn in that direction. Ditto wearing shirts with beautiful colours of the rainbow. As an adolescent male, I used to have some clothings that have such beautiful colourful designs, but now I will think twice about wearing a multicoloured rainbow shirt cos before you know it, some sicko guy thinking you are his type will approach you and start toasting you A lady purchasing cucumber in a public place now may be viewed differently. Even this site is equally guilty. Censoring some words that are harmless in the context in which they are used and conditioning our minds to believe some to mean what they were not originally meant to popularly represent. For example before Naira land, J-o-y-s-t-i-c-k used to be a word loosely used to qualify the multidirectional controls of the game pads used in arcade games of those days. Now it will be hard for me to remain comfortable if an innocent young chap or an adult use that word around me. If I was to advice Audi before making that advert public, I would suggest they should be mindful of the peculiarity of the people and the public perception of the theme they are about to use and probably change the fruit to an apple rather than a banana. It may not mean much to Nigerians cos what we will see if a fine car and how we will turn heads if we ride that in our hood. I will particularly imagine love to see a lady ride in that car with her daughter in the back seat or for the two of them to go to a picnic in the ride carrying fruits to eat out. But to the average American, the theme may mean something else. It's a concept widely used in psychology to profile people. A brief flash of an image of the cross may be interpreted by someone who lives in violence prone neighbourhood or that has had near death experience related to stabbing as a knife, whereas the same image shown to a clergyman or an individual who is religious or from a peaceful neighbourhood will be seen as the crucifix. There is this video that was widely circulated on WhatsApp few weeks ago. It showed a Fulani/Hausa patient in a Nigerian clinic who was to have his temperature taken by an infra-red thermometer. It was a tug of war to calm him down to allow his temperature taken because all he could see was a white-coloured pistol trained on his forehead. An individual from other parts of Nigeria seeing such device for the first time pointed at him will immediately think of something else than a pistol. |
Lemonz:Nope. There may be some items that are tax free. Also some small-sized items does not attract custom fee, there is an exception to mobile phones, tablets and computers sha as those ones will be heavily taxed irrespective of size. About three weeks ago, I took delivery of an AE parcel which I selected DHL logistics option for and I specifically instructed the seller not to change from my DHL option under no circumstances. It was two units of MPPT charge controllers. I was pleased, but not surprised that customs charges was not on it. It seems charge controllers of modest numbers may be excepted from customs fees. This used to be the case with small-sized solar inverters before too, but some overzealous officers at that customs have started charging on those. Also some NIPOST agent lie about customs charges when they are the ones doing the end delivery (like with EMS package for example) |
mctfopt:Account opening was seamless and in fact I got the account number allocated to me within 10 minutes of reviewing my mandate, while I was still seated. However when I demanded the ATM card thingy, the marketing guy said they will still have to check out the address (KYC things) before I can proceed to that next stage. |
lavenderjade:They are not robots. They are people but just unreasonable with reviewing arbitration following appeal. |
Michaelwonder:Thanks for this. I had assumed that limit is about 20 USD monthly or so after they transiently refused further transaction on the card. I will head back to try further use. |
ojesymsym:Aproko ![]() ojesymsym: ojesymsym:So bàbá still dey take style lick small small from lead acid chemistry when I been dey think say na full time lithium man you don be now ![]() Also about the freezer thingy, I'm getting led to believe that the regular 40% energy saving compressors may be almost as good as the inverter conpressors,; that is of course minus the fact that the latter does not have prohibitive initial surge current. My freezer that is regular compressor is on a 12v system. It is currently seriousssssly frozen inside (with frosts all over even the underside of the lid). With this it seems there is an improvement with consumption. By evening, the battery (12v220ah LFP) is at 13.2v and by 6am in the morning, it at 13.0v or 13.1v. This does not usually happen when the freezer is freshly stocked with items and the freezing will have to be started over; during such periods, the battery is at 12.8v by morning. I don't have a wattmeter in-line, so this is anecdotal evidence at best. This seems to be the whole concept behind inverter freezer too; that is, when appropriate temperature is reached and maintained for long time, consumption drops significantly. My recently purchased inverter freezer is on a 24v system (24v100ah LFP) and I have not gotten enough comprehensive observation fit enough to file the report to this noble thread. It has held my wattmeter hostage since and so far, I have not observed that "breathtaking drop" in consumption when freezing temperatures are reached. Because of poor solar insolation at this time, the LVD device switches it off at around 5 am when the battery voltage reaches 24.2v and comes online at around 9am, so maybe I will still hold on the full comparison with the 24/7 always on non-inverter freezer for now. ojesymsym:I think I'm about getting tired of 12v system. I have advantages, in fact many, from it part of which is that I have not had a single burnt out bulb for the past 4 years. This I believe is because I use limiting resistors at the point of entry to each bulb to reduce the in-flow voltage and by extension the inflow current into the bulb, less than the specs of the bulb. What this effectively does is that it reduces the lumen/brightness lightly but I also get to preserve the life of the LED chips for longer because they get less hot and degrade less faster. I haven't even had to change any. On the contrary, a few points that had external LED drivers connected to them have actually reduced in brightness over the years. I'm yet to determine if the reduced brightness is due to degrading external LED drivers or the degrading LED chip. Now the reason I'm thinking the idea of changing my lights to AC is that the wires for the DC connection is too much and clumsy; there is too much joining and branching in the ceiling wherease the electrician-installed AC wires are redundant and much neatly channelled thru the conduit pipes. I have in recent times have much excess unused power from the inverter such that I'm thinking of putting the light points on them. Modified: Sorry, I thought I was addressing Ojeysky the whole time, on the "Lead acid licking" accusation ![]() |
EliteBiz:You were asked a simple question and you are making unnecessary referrals. Why not give your answer first, then you back it up with your references. Did people that have contrary opinion to yours first refer you to any ancient text to get your answer before they gave their opinion? Simple question: what is the earth resting on? Simply put, what scaffolds or pillar does the earth rest on to prevent collapse or falling? Answer the question mafrend. |
Guys AliExpress don dey para o. Imagine losing three disputes back to back within a week. These are SingPost items that have either "expired" status or "EDI received" for the past 120 days, remained untrackable and remain undelivered. These guys just dey dash out "invalid reason" like gift. I opened all these disputes like some 7 days after purchase protection expiry o, and that was even after sending message to the seller to extend it for about 30 days without response. I will now open dispute and attach evidence and the useless seller that has remained blind and deaf all along will surface from nowhere pleading that I close the dispute. Instead of the useless AE team too to do diligent work, dem go just dey dash out "invalid reason" all over the place. I'm sure this attitude will soon embolden suppliers to commit fraud of refusing to send item but give false impression that they do. After all covid-19 affects shipping and AE have begun to favour them unduly in the arbitration that follows. Dollar-Naira imbalance is worsening, even the Zenith card I hoped to get is still pending 4 days after it should have been ready; I kept getting this "no network to print card" complaints from their custocare, which seems to wanna validate the claim by someone up here that banks are reluctant to issue out new MasterCard. Our local PO by their attitude with poor logistics are making an already bad situation worse and more difficult to solve because as it stands, you can't entirely say if the AE team is wrong in their insistence that parcel has reached your country and asking you to visit your local PO. Finally, this my back to back loss of dispute is the last straw for me. I think I'm done with purchases on AE for now. I will weigh my options and source a reliable 3rd party procurement and logistics service here on Nairaland. Then purchase my items mostly in bulk now (collate all the different items from the different sellers on AE) before having them shipped rather than the piecemeal ways AE does. |
ojeysky:True. Didn't think of that. |
