omotoda:I think you should be able to power those two appliances with your 850 watts inverter. 850 watts will sustain a peak of 1700 watts. If you start the freezer first and allow it to settle, you can then start the fridge few moments later. The highest continuous consumption of the two gadgets together shouldn't be more than 250 watts. The inverter may sustain the two if started at different times, but definitely not if started simultaneously. |
CravingChic:Okay here is what I think you can do. If you used GTB card it will be easier but it should also be workable even with other banks. But you need to be very sure that you have not been credited. You may determine that if you have access to your account statement for the month. Also be sure that you're not being impatient as refunds into your account takes between 7 days to 20 days. In GTB, visit the bank and complete a dispense error form. In the account section of the form, fill in your account number, ATM card number, fill in "AliExpress" in the merchant section, fill in the amount in naira, date of transaction and the STAN number (the STAN number can be retrieved from the debit SMS sent to your phone). For reasons, fill in "Services not rendered/goods not delivered". Tick the transaction terminal box as "ONLINE". It will be treated as a dispense error and you should get your refund after proper investigation. |

NiyiOmoIyunade:Yes sir. Using my experience as an instance. I recently gave out a 12v system (the BTS inverter that I retired). Stuff was installed indoors with some ventilation of course, and the user being someone with acute sense of smell complained that the battery produces some odour whenever it charges, more pronounced with mains charging. I believed right away, and had to provide 12v LFP replacement. Now instead of the battery to charge to 14v cc-cv with the in-built inverter charger it stays at 13.6v float voltage especially when it has initially sensed a 14.1v SoC in the LFP. 12v LFP needs a constant 14.2v driven in until charging source is removed, and not the 14v boost, 13.6v float voltage algorithm programmed in that inverter. I had to eventually reluctantly include one of my extra 12v LFP chargers in the giveaway. By the way, I also have 12.7v Li-ion AC chargers (for 12v 18/65/0s battery pack) for sale, for anyone interested. They are all new, unused but have been tested. Pictures later. |
mctfopt:This is really good. I think one can find a way to integrate it in each room. Currently the plan is to have only one point USB charging socket installed in each room. The socket is AC-powered but only has USB socket output. |
Harshreality:As at today, the exchange rate is 391 naira but the dollar limit is Zero dollars. |
CravingChic:The refund was sent to the card that you used in paying. That is the problem with using 3rd party pay agents to pay for you on AE. When deals go south and a request for refund is arbitrated in your favour, the money will be returned to the card used in the payment. When such happens, just hope the pay agent is God's angel to admit a refund was made into his account and give you your money, else na OYO voice mail. |
purplebelt:I believe it should be monthly cap. |
chibu4u2:Our local post offices are complicating issues. They have been lackadaisical about their job of late. So don't be surprised if your parcel is truly in Nigeria, but NIPOST logistics is almost non-existent. Maybe you should visit your local PO and para for them seriously. Inform them of your loss of money to the seller for the item in question and that the seller insisted that tracking shows it has arrived the country. Demand they produce your parcel or you take it up to the higher authorities. Maybe if yawa like yours prop up in different quarters across the country POs, they will be forced to contact their Lagos team to do the needful of forwarding parcels to them. |
VeeVeeMyLuv:Refunds are not affected. Your bank will credit you appropriately, even at the prevailing higher exchange rate, as long as AE arbitrates in your favour. |
lainwords098:Yeah, Wema. They are good at messing up. |
Darkseid:See, the guy na fake. AE don't really vet sellers like it's done on eBay, Amazon etc. Heck, the Chinese government don't even have punitive laws to discourage such. To the Chinese, it's seen as a thing of pride to outsmart others, mostly in cunning ways. So the red flags for that guy is that the store was recently opened, probably in preparation for Black Friday and gadget Monday sales. The second red flag is that the items are dirt cheap, those items will most likely be fake. So here is what happens. You're not the only person that will be attracted by the "juicy offers", at least a million other shoppers likely are. So if each one of you buys 10 dollars worth of item from his store, that makes 10 million dollars. He will ship the item of course, but it'll be fake. The purchase protection is what he is banking on. Not many AE shoppers know about BP and so it always run out on their profile without they knowing it. Also not everyone has the luxury of watching the last few minutes of BP expiry with the hope of filing for dispute the moment it runs out. Not many buyers know that you can file dispute for fake items. These are the categories of people that this seller plan to capitalize on. If out of a million buyers, 500 thousand failed to file dispute as at when due and funds have already been released to the seller. Four years ago in preparation for Black Friday on AE, I had spotted this store with dirt cheap prices and I bought a Bose Sound link Mini I had planned to acquire that year. Come and see how disappointed I was when was delivered was total fake and imitation. I had to make a video evidence back to AE to refund my dues. After Black Friday, I wanted to write reviews to expose the seller, alas the store no longer exists - It's like the store was in existence for just like one month. I was later to buy the certified Soundlink Mini from another reputable seller. |
ojeysky:Oshey, baba. |
Michaelwonder:Please do. Thanks. |
ojeysky:Thanks a lot I think the LED bulbs will be better pegged at 5 watts per room + 5 watts per bath and toilet. That makes 10 watts per apartment and 200 watts total. If more economy is needed, the bathroom lights can be pegged at 3 watts which will give 8 watts per apartment and a total of 160 watts for the 20 apartments. By the Felicity 48v 5kva, will it be bad if the 60 amp MPPT or it can still go as an extra addition? (I really won't like putting all the eggs in one basket of Felicity or one basket of another MPPT CC. |
Private hostel: ✓ 20 rooms self contained lighting point (approx 40 lighting points) ✓ Pumping machine 750hp (better it is run during daylight hours) - controlled by float switch and a timer so programmed. ✓ Charging points in the rooms (1 usb AC socket per room) giving around 5 watts x 20 rooms = 100 watts. I'm yet to determine insolation and sun direction and also the distance from roof to potential site of inverter set up. My proposal: • 60 amp MPPT (1 unit) • 10mm duo core • 320 watts mono panel (12 units) to be in 3s3p • Felicity 48volts 3kva pure sine hybrid with 60amp MPPT to take the remaining 3 units of panels. • 48v 100amp Lithium battery What d'you think sirs? |
mctfopt:Exobank isn't a very serious bank. Mailing the custocare does not guarantee that I'll get response in record time. I don't wanna waste my time with those guys. And worse still, Ecobank charged 400 naira to the dollar. I just calculated it now using the amount I was debited. I guess Zenith's 200 USD cap at 390 naira to the dollar is the way to go. |
ceaser:So I guess I was right after all. I tried a 2,800 naira purchase on Ecobank and was turned down. I've made purchases nearing 10k on the card in the past four days or thereabout. So I guess it's safe to say that their cap is around that kain 10,000 naira or 25 USD. Abbysmal, for lack of suitable words. Sadly I squandered that small cap trialing Ecobank card on inconsequential items. Now that I need to get the important stuffs, I'm outta juice. Make Monday come make I obtain my Zenith card.
|
crowbar:It is also written on the appliance, but those are not very specific and vary under different working conditions. The best way to do it is by using a wattmeter (kill-a-watt meter as some would call it).
|
mctfopt:Each tile is rated 30 watts, the voltage isn't indicated though. But it'll be interesting to know if the efficiency at 30 watts is as good as that from flat panels currently in use widely. |
cue64:Really I don't think Acunon will mind this. You earlier put the caveat that it was an irresistible offer so it already puts the disclaimer that it was lucky awoof. If anyone thinks Acunon will because of that give his prices on offer for awoof too, good luck to the person. |
mctfopt:This is really nice. Even with junction box and MC4. Very neat and good aesthetics. It's likely gonna be deadly expensive for now sha. |
adeniranfam:You see ehn, me I don give up already. I nor dey worry myself again. Knowing the recent peculiarities with AE logistics these days, I worry less as long as refund of my monies is guaranteed. When I shop for little items, I look out for Cainiao, Yanwen or SunYou options in the absence of which I have little choice but to go with the available AESS, SingPost, 4px or CPRM. Even when I go with the latter options, I aim, just shoot and look away. I've ordered like 5 items in the past 2 weeks. Let 'em transport it at their own pace. |
mctfopt:I posted something earlier about that spaceX guy (Elon Musk) planning something of this sort. But I don't think this is his own exact concept. His is flat tiles, but this seems to follow the traditional undulating roof format, which makes it more beautiful, that is if it can guarantee adequate electricity output from varying illumination that will occur on the exposed surfaces. But the pictures look high definition like it's CGI. If they are real pictures, then that's cool evolution. |
Donpre:I tested with 10k naira worth of items so far. I think I'll chat them up to inquire about the rate and even their spending limit cos all I've done so far with that Ecobank card is all assumptions. Make dem no just come stop me when I spend reach 50 USD. . Cos if Zenith can cap theirs at 200 USD, ordinary Ecobank may just be 50 USD o. |
It seems the problem with logistic right now is more of NIPOST than Singpost or AESS. Accepted that covid had it's own toll on them but they seem to be trying their best to get items across. NIPOST here however seems to have enjoyed the lockdown (salary without work) so much so that they are not willing to get back to normal and routine work of transporting and delivering parcels within the country. At least we have gotten stories of guys here that got to the post office to insist that their arrived parcel (according to tracking) be searched for, something which they did and found out it had gathered dust in their storage. It seems Lagos people are not forwarding parcels to other PO nationwide, or if they do then they are doing it in trickles. I strongly believe that many of our pending deliveries are like that. Do they have a Twitter handle that someone could bombard then to force 'em to giddy up? |
Rajioba1:You can't avoid them. Chances that you will be taxed is around 95%. Even if the seller underdeclares the cost price in order to effect a reduced custom tax, they custom guys are in vogue enough to know the worth of what type of phones is in the package and they will re-evaluate and tax with their own apportioned price. Note that they open up parcels at customs to confirm what is inside and re-pack when they are done. |
Donpre:Zenith debit card issuance is still pending as I opened account a few days ago. In the meantime, I've re-visited my Ecobank account that has been unused for almost 2 years and I used the card for three purchases yesterday. I didn't really bother to work out the exchange rate they used though, but I know dem own never enter that kain 400. Theirs is most likely still under 395 naira. |
obinna37:Nice. |
Chinkos99:(Removing my eyeglasses) Fun kee you there! Are you, are you, are you normal?! (In Mr Macaroni's voice, packing my agbada) |
Penuelseun:That TV model is UHD, not FHD which eleojo mentioned. I think there is a little different consumption of UHD over FHD. The TV also has Bluetooth functionality. @Penuelseun, Does the Bluetooth connect to/support audio devices or it's only to bluetooth keyboard hardware? |
