True value 24v/100 ah battery pack will cost how much? Just the finished pack alone, excluding the inverter and those other whistles. |
Trippledots:That third party thingy is still somehow to me sha. I don't know how effective it is especially with the terrible reviews I heard of "shoptomydoor" which one would expect to be a model to assess the viability of third party shippers. In fact I was already registered on their website but I had to begun to divert their mails from my inbox to trash. |
tonididdy:Nope. I posted that two units of the CCs I ordered for has arrived Nigeria. Sorry for that overzealous bot ![]() |
monakii:Your Scanfrost is strictly AC powered with the power board/pack built into the unit, so you can't use it directly with DC. You'll instead need an inverter plugged into the DC source. The TVs that are DC powered usually have a DC input port at the back. The port is where you plug in the external power pack (similar to how it works on a laptop) and it's also the point you can plug in your modded DC plug. Your Scanfrost has only AC port, not DC port. See attached picture.

@ bolded. Does it use battery as secondary power? If yes, you might need to replace the batteries as it may be messing with the memory and stuff. My wattmeter had a slot for button batteries, but I never used it for once until about 3 weeks ago when it started acting up. It beeps when plugged into the mains and all the elements on the display show up all at once, haphazardly, making reading any meaningful information difficult. So I decided to put the battery slot to use, it took 2 button batteries in series. The problem has not repeated itself since then. earthrealm: |
Easylearner:I believe this post by NiyiOmolyunade addresses some part of your inquiry. NiyiOmoIyunade:By the way, I don't know how feasible a repair of the inverter might be. Except the company offers to replace the board, any other repairs by some random electronic/inverter technician may just be like wasting time. If it's not so much, have you considered getting a new unit? |
bigx:Oh, well the courier guy that called me did not mention that I will be paying an extra fee. He was actually on his way to my address before I told him that I will be unavailable for receipt. Also I did not receive any text message from DHL to that effect. This is in contrast to my experience with UPS. They notify me thru SMS and also send the invoice to my email for me to pay up. They confirm receipt of my payment and proceed with the final delivery. According to tracking, the item went thru customs though but I'm optimistic that I'll likely not be charged since it wasn't mentioned by the courier guy. The only other reason I could be charged is if it enters demurrage. But between today and Monday is not up to a week to include demurrage in my opinion. |
monakii:An AC TV can not directly run on DC source. They are however 19 inches to 32 inches TV that has the power pack external like in a laptop. In those, you can jettison the power pack and use a DC cable to connect them directly to your DC source (usually 12vdc, 15vdc or 19vdc) depending on the size of the TV. On the flip side, if you still wanna go with your AC TV, then you will require a DC to AC inverter to be plugged into your DC source to serve the TV. If your TV does not consume so much power, there are small form factor inverters the size of cigarette lighters than you can co-opt to power your TV. If you intend to plug more AC devices along with the TV, then you will require bigger inverters. |
Adebowale1616:AliExpress is for retailers. You can buy minimum of one quantity of a product to several quantities. However being retail, it's usually of higher price than Alibaba. Alibaba is strictly wholesale. If you are those that buy items in containers, Alibaba is for you. The sellers there sell their products on MOQ (minimum order quantity) that you must meet for them to consider selling to you. Some sellers on Alibaba can ship to you one unit as test sample, even for free. However some Nigerians have been found out to misuse that opportunity. They go to different sellers and get samples of the same item for free with false promises of coming back to buy in wholesale. If you visit 100 sellers of the same product with each offering you free samples, you can tell the money to be made selling that. As a result, most sellers seem uncomfortable with giving out free samples. |
Out of the recent orders I've made in the past two weeks, I decided to use DHL with one that is most important and of course exoensive. There were also options for AESS, Singapore, FedEx. The DHL option cost an extra 11k. Shipped on the 2nd of this month, I was called today to expect the courier guy at my delivery address. Unfortunately I'm not around, I hope to pick it up at the DHL office next week. The other orders, mostly on 4px are stuck at "hand over to airline". One on Cainiao is progressing albeit slowly. I'm now reviewing my cart to see items that can be moved to DHL with minimal charges. I think I can live with something less than 10k increase in shipping fees for items of 30k upwards. |
ojesymsym:Actually I'm beginning to see the futility in DC solar freezer, I may be wrong though. Usually for the DC freezers, they'll recommend 2 units 200Ah battery and around 600 watts panel for the 24hrs function to be guaranteed. Whereas size for size for the Hiaer Thermocool 40% energy saving series, with the same set up, you will likely get the same backup time if not less. Of course the conversion efficiency loss associated with inverter is still there but that's nonetheless. Now the inverter AC freezers is on a different level. It appears that in consumption, it will trump any DC solar freezers size for size anytime anyday. The ultimate advantage of the DC solar freezer, it seems, is the fact that you won't not to acquire an inverter. NB: I have not had real life experiences with DC solar freezers to be emphatic about this, so my opinion of it is at best anecdotal, but at least I can vouch for that of 40% energy saving series of the Haier and hopefully by next week I should be able to have adequate UX information on their inverter freezers. Differing opinions from experienced users of DC freezers are seriously welcomed. |
tonididdy:In fact, I've been called to pick up the two units that's arrived. Hope to be around next week to receive it. |
kiekie1:Is the in-built SCC MPPT or PWM? Edited: I see that Ojeysky having like mind, has asked the same question. |
adrusa:Neither has coms of any sort. However Version 119 of MakeSkyBlue has WiFi hardware so that you can connect your phone to it. I doubt it has remote monitoring capabilities, so you have to be within the WiFi range to use the phone app. I even doubt if the app is available in the play store. It seems you have to do a side instal from a mediafire link. |
mahkanjuh:The surge current is the major difference in the two scenarios. Your 110w (198L) 40% energy saving Thermocool I suppose, is truly energy saving compared to the previous regular freezers of yore. But the reason you can't use it with the 600 watts inverter is that it has a momentary start surge which may be as high as 1.2kva. In case of the inverter freezer, it slowly ramps up the speed of the compressor to a set point (like when you slowly accelerates a car to your desired speed). So the surge current is absent. After a while of working, the consumption also drops as the desired temperature is attained (similar to the way your car fuel consumption somewhat reduces when you maintain a constant speed on an expressway). |
SirBunky85:That individual you qioted is a rabble rouser. I believe he is best ignored. Resorting to name calling when he realized his folly, he's been ignored. |
Tranquillity360:You are so mischievous, wicked and hate-driven. The same Yoruba and their professors that ensured GEJ as the vice president was duly sworn in as the president at his principal's (Yar'adua's) demise when the kitchen cabinet had taken him ransom. You remember the "doctrine of necessity" right? Except you are just a 12 year old which your post actually suggests. |
I suspect that this is all a script APC is playing and aimed at giving him a clean slate ahead of the elections. The court will acquit him and declare him innocent of the allegations. This will truncate any plans by the opposition to tag him a felon when and after he wins. This government cannot be trusted at all. They get the worst of the people to occupy positions of power. China makes it a point of duty to put the best of their people in positions of power, duly endorsed by the people who must have had experiences with the candidate over several years and at different fora and will determine if they are comfortable with his character over those periods. Then they can decide to elect him into position. What this means is that you must have led the people in varying capacity (street head, town leader, provincial head etc) one after the other and proven your worth and loyalty to the people at these various stages and the people will therefore determine your eligibility for the next stage.

dapsyra:@Bolded. Sincerely I can't argue . There are reason it's premium. |
earthrealm: so now you see why I can afford to "waste the life" of a PowMr, though it serves well, to experiment. If I try that with those top premium, I may incure the wrath of the Father for wasting something that's so expensive when there are people that are still struggling with PWM. |
koladeolutola:With your 200ah battery, you might wanna consider 4 pcs 150w panel or at worst 3 pcs for a basic install that is limited to TV, decoder, light and fan. But you also need to audit your current appliances to determine if they are energy saving ones that will make you to enjoy your set up more. Are you planning to go the route of MPPT Charge controller, considering your future expansion aspiration with the inclusion of 140w chest freezer. An MPPT will create the flexibility of adding more 150w panels since you plan to start with that. Also you may only be able to run your freezer during daytime as 200A may not provide sufficient backup for the freezer. A 60A MPPT should be okay. |
Doveflies:Sense? After how many days in transit? |
koladeolutola:Sent you mail. But I'd advice that any questions bothering you are best asked where various minds with varying experiences will have inputs - a place like here, a purpose which this forum has greatly served. Even I can learn from such discourse. |
Lovely lithium packs here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-ABA1vwpp0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV49R9tSn9g |
litaninja:How much did the cabinet cost? |
jboixxx:Okay. So the extra money on AESS is like an assurance for dispute resolution for the customer, it seems. Unfortunately 3 orders I placed under SG post two weeks ago has gotten stuck in "handed over to airline" while another I deliberately chose DHL for is still progressing. |
Namzy:He exceeded the VoC of the ipowerplus in his own case, hence the misbehaviour. |
litaninja:Lovely. Did you have a metal fabricator do that enclosure? I bet not the roadside ones cos they won't understand that diagram you put up there. Are the extra fans temperature controlled or perpetually working? |
essegis:@ Bolded. My error, I meant to say v119. The v119 has WiFi hardware in-built but the v118 does not. However v118 is readily upgradable to v119 using some dongle that you have to purchase from them too. The upgraded v118 will lack WiFi features. essegis:It supports lithium charging out of the box. In the setting you will select "D01" which is the setting parameter for lithium which automatically puts the boost, charge and float voltages at 14.5v. You may have to edit the 14.5v to something like 14.1v though cos I noticed that with the 14.5v my BMS overcharge protect trips off at 14.4v. You may also have to increase the LVD value to 12v from the 10v default. |
essegis:Yep. Guy is David Poz. Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUaDmVDcYks |
mahkanjuh:I never used this for a freezer for once, I only used it for basic electronics like TV, decoder and charging most which did not exceed 200 wards at any one time. It may be able to power an inverter freezer since the initial surge is absent with those but rather slowly the condenser ramps up power to full speed. For the regular freezers, it may be able to power the continuous draw, but it may have some challenge handling the surge which may be 5 times that declared 100 watts, but it's not absolute o. In fact I once had one cheap 1200 watts pure sine that only powers a 115 watts freezer on the 4th attempt each time I try to plug in the freezer. The earlier attempts, the overcurrent protection kicks in up till about a fifth attempt when the freezer now works. I guess those previous attempts already primed the freezer condenser already so that a fifth start attempt will not draw as much current as the first. A 12v 1.5kva will likely do it for you. |
