Whatever high cost we might end up paying, i'll prefer to do it and get stable supply, instead of paying and getting nothing! And still end up running generator every day. All Current Electricity workers that are opposed to this idea should be sent to the black hole to continue their wretched existence there ![]() |
Nnaa men, We're drawing up training plans for next year and me i've made up my mind that am gonna be getting international training slots. I've arranged all the available ones and submitted. That'll basically form my 31st night prayers ![]() Am tired of Kimberly Ryan/ Phillips consulting/I-skills/Tom Associates/Mitch consulting bunch ![]() It's time to step up to the plate, see what's happening on the world stage. @Neto, If you are coming to Lasgidi, i advice you first of all get a high sounding alarm clock cos you'll need a whole lotta wake up time adjustment ![]() |
@Op, If i jam you in that office, honestly i will give you a dirty slap ![]() What do you mean, you left your wife and mother inlaw to take over your home and then went in hiding ![]() Go back home and send your MIL to her husband's home while you trash issues out with your wife. Or did you marry both? The only period your MIL should stay with you, assuming she is healthy is when you have a new born, and her stay must not exceed three months. |
adexchamp:If you settled on the road without receipt, the officer don hammer. if you went to their office and paid with a receipt delivered, it's in the account. hollars: You ain't seen nothing, man. Take an example of the University road i mentioned ealier, the road from the point of entry is a dual way road, very spacious at that. Then towards the end of that same road, it becomes one way It's just like entering your street, which takes two way movement, then three-quaters way in, it becomes one way. And there is no bold sign to warn you, just craftly designed for money making! And the officers too are all hidden, Police will be seated in the nearby Kiosk from where they will jump on you, then they will hand you over to the plain clothes LASTMA crooks waiting in the flanks. |
Talk about jumbo hampers, guys!!! 5 units of LG 32'' LCD screens landed in the office for d boyz ![]() E no reach me ooo ![]() |
axeman85:May be we need to create a seperate thread and trash this out , honestly i no longer believe this mantra of abroad education better than Nigeria's. Until you guys start coming back with business ideas to start-up and create small jobs instead of coming to huzzle for the few existence jobs, its all the same. UK or US or Naija. ![]() |
blank:Oh my, you actually top the chart ![]() The craziest areas seem to be those Yaba/Ebute Meta axis. Was driving into UNILAG one of the days, just entered the University road from MMway, saw the newly tarred road and i tapped my feet on gas, cruising merrily past the cemetry, just within a few poles to the UNILAG gate, one of the men in black just jumped on me and i was like, is this one on a date with death ![]() Anyways, fully convinced that my 'papers' are always in order, i just confidently wound down, ready to lecture the guy on the value of his own life, only for the dude to tell me that i was driving on a one way road , I mean it was a straight road, just about the last one-fifth length of it It was unbelievable, i looked back, looked front, the staight road is wide enough for trailers, how on earth can this road be a 'one way'? The guy promptly pointed to one miniature obscure sign behind, showing where i was supposed to branch off, do a cross country before reappearing in front of UNILAG. Well the guy entered my car ooo, and as they say, the rest is history ![]() I will narrate another one later |
^^^ Dude, you better get your arse down and serve your fatherland ![]() I earned five thousand naira (5,000) not quite long ago in the North, some folks in the govt schools/ ministry were earning 2k, serving the fatherland with pride ![]() Its not about what you get paid, though you might get up to 40-80k in Lagos anyway, depending on the bank. Truth is that without that discharge certificate, nobody will touch your CV. |
Let's analyze your situation in order to open up all the options because at the end of the day, you will still be the one to make the call. Your job in the bank as a contract staff probably could range from note counting to tellering to report generation etc., all of which are dead end routine jobs without pay rise or promotions! Whatever you are earning now, you will think its big until you get married and start raising a family You are a chattered accountant, which is great 'pali', but that has no value presently because you are not practicing. The ACA will have more value when it is backed by a full degree which i believe you can still get on a part time basis, though with a longer time-frame. Forget about being 23, there are some 30yr olds that are giving thanksgiving today for securing admission at all ![]() You didn't mention the proximity of UNIBEN to the city where you work anyway, that can determine if you can combine both. I will like you to see the big picture, the possibility of getting into a job where you are paid what is fairly commensurate with your work input, you have assured chances of pay rise and promotions as you your performance ratings increase. All these can only be possible as a graduate employee ![]() |
I don't doubt them at all. I actually contributed to that amount, i've paid 10k fine before. Its crazy. |
^^^ Adverts are normally circulated within the camp, you can as well network with fellow corp members to get tips of test dates. Ermmm, sorry your 2yrs experience can only add value after you have passed the written test, and are seated before the oral panel, some organizations even do aptitude tests for experienced hires ![]() If you understand that virtually all the corp members want to 'serve' in the banks, you will understand why the need for the aptitude test. |
I used to have a colleague in my previous department who even though he was higher than us in grade and earns well ahead of us, but he will always like to know how much your bonus is, how much your housing allowance is, your leave allowance, ah ah, it was too irritating, he will even want to know how much balance you have in your savings ![]() Honestly i felt like slapping him on one of those poke nosing missions. Here, i am still studying them gradually, don't like to talk on people's opinion about others, which might be personal, you know? AjanleKoko:Lol. The company politicians! How do you expect them to know the reality on ground when all their domestic staff are paid for by the company ![]() thweraja10:I doubt if there's a department that lacks such people ![]() |
axeman85:Welcome home, boy. I hope your own axeman is not the type that carry a miniature pick axe in your trousers ![]() Any way, there is one general way of doing Youth service in banks/big corporations in Naija. And that is by writing the aptitude tests they normaly conduct for Corp members, if you pass, you still get interviewed and that determines your fate. But then, if you are well heeled, i know there might still be other ways ![]() |
@Neto, You know quite well we ain't that naive when it comes to the job segmentation within the monolithic power player. But honestly, we have come to that level where we don't care where the lag is coming from , all we know is that NUEE which comprises of all the divisions (i suppose) is breathing fire and brimstone against the power reform program. You may want to defend some departments but i dare you that the status quo madness feeds all the unscrupulous benefactors across board. Meanwhile @AJ, i strongly agree with Friedman. |
@OP Save your marriage brov. You made the right decision to keep away from what you can't handle. Don't mind all these single girls charter They think marriage is bf/gf affair You can go for an old nanny. The most important thing is someone that can fix the needed chores. |
^^^ Whether they agree is not the issue, the issue is that i am tired of this kind of existence and somebody is coming up with a workable plan to move us forward while someone else wants to be a clog in the wheel. They simply can't see beyond the few illicit money they make from hapless citizens by climbing up and down the ladder, collecting money for unsupplied units. Shey na like this we go dey dey ![]() @office There are talks of more pepper coming in from mgt, boyz are keeping our fingers crossed for the naira rain sha. |
netotse:I actually see those current PHCN staff as the Satan himself! Honestly i wish i can send all of them back to their villages permanently, they have no business showing up at work in the first place. I run on Generator at home every blessed night, spending roughly 10k monthly on petrol alone, thats 120k/annum! Add the maintenance cost of the Gen and the unquantifiable noisy environment from the neighbours too, and you get the picture. Now tell me why somebody will be opposing an idea to light up this country in a 21st century, 100 years after the invention of electricity if that person is not the author of darkness ![]() |
AjanleKoko:So who gets the container load of hampers at the end of the day? Don't tell me motherless babies homes ooo. Because some of the items will be way beyond their level nah. Meen, e good to be big oga oooo. One hamper entered office yesterday for the big man and the very big carton alone was made of leather! I just take style dey wonder wetin dey inside ![]() |
AjanleKoko:Ol boy! and we're here still negotiating for bigger pay/annum. netotse:Guy, in ABJ, every damn aboki is a potential land speculator oo. Na ogboju dem dey use there, just chance the buyer, sell off and disappear. The buyer sef, if na sharp person too, he go build am under six months, sell off before FCDA go land with their bulldozers ![]() |
@lANREDO, Welcome to the office. You guys hit us bad in all those agent fee, agreement fee, landlord's wife fee, agent's dog fee blah blah blah ![]() It's all good brov, Estate mgt is really a huge industry, one of my close pals went from serious lack to big time player with just one deal! yeah, he mediated in a bank buying a property off his client, and that was it. Currently, he rolls big time. |
@Medjai, Ermmmm, this one you just dey enter office begin pursue chicks, hope you will last in the office o, hope u know say office romance dey inflammable or you must have been an active member of the romance section ![]() Anyways Welcome bro, hw's the ad world? let's know how u roll. @office, the first of the dinner parrries kicks off tonight, everybody is just counting down ![]() |
The Title of this thread obviously has not done any better than the people leaving the main content of the interview to harp on frivolities. The guy is asking a valid question and nobody had said anything on that, or is it that you guys didn't really read the interview before commenting? Why is Africa Magic selling people's intellectual property without paying the necessary royalties ![]() Has the Censors Board confronted the Multi choice company ![]() Is it through that Mba has interest in DSTV/Multi choice ![]() These are germaine questions that need answers, because it's part of what is causing the lull in the industry. |
^^^^^ You better mind your occultism, guy. You know nothing about engineering, and you are not ready to learn. Crawl back into your dark hole asap ![]() |
So many negative minded individuals are selling their fears and septicisms for free here, but am not buying any. How can people be asking kindergatten questions here as if lands have not been reclaimed from coastal areas all over the world before. These are being handled by professional project managers and the blue print has been designed, with all the requisite EIA done. This is a welcome development that will open up employment and expand the city as well. Bring it on Fash and co. Let's have our own 21st century city, you guys are not even considering the tourism revenues that will be generated from this venture. Every big project must start as a dream in someone's heart first. |
My former oga is throwing us a big bash at the Imperial this wkend. Dude stepped up big time into Executive Mgt. so he decides to spoil us a little. Make we go chop chinese frog and lizard now @Neto you and this your oga eh, laff wan finish me here, thought people rejoice at abroad trainings ![]() |
@AJ and TKB, the globe-trotters. I will like to be like una when i grow up ooo ![]() You work hard, you play hard. I love that philosophy ![]() |
(CNN) -- Qatar plans to build nine fully air-conditioned open-air stadiums to stage matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. See levelz, we no even get enough power to run 1hp Ac in our rooms |
debosky:Oh, that one na snacks nah. thought it's amala and ewedu you dey arrange ![]() |
debosky:Lol. Debo, you mean you take home made lunch to work? |
^^^ I think it will still get to that. Soon you will be having something like DIY preg. test kit |
paradigman:You know of only one ![]() No be today o bros, almost all the various banks' Executive Directors have access to the bank's intranet right in their homes through VPN. Go figure ![]() Their kids and relatives browse on the banks' infrastructure 24/7 ![]() |
